Phylogeography and Genetic Structure of the Bush Cricket Decma fissa (Orthoptera, Tettigoniidae) in Southern China.

Decma fissa is the most widely distributed species of the genus Decma occuring in southern China. This study presents the first phylogeographic work of D. fissa based on COI, Cytb and ITS sequence. We examined genetic diversity with ITS and mitochondrial sequence respectively, and phylogenetic work was based on the mitochondrial data. A high-level genetic diversity was revealed based on mitochondrial data but a low-level diversity was shown with ITS sequence. For the mitochondrial data, divergence time analysis displayed five lineages. Based on the Mantel test, geographic and genetic distances among D. fissa populations revealed a significant positive correlation. Bayesian skyline plot (BSP) analyses implied that none of three major lineages of D. fissa was seemingly affected by the last glacial maximum (LGM, 0.015-0.025 Mya). Ecological niche modeling was used to predict the distribution of D. fissa in four periods (LGM, Mid-Holocene, current and 2070) in China. Analysis of the ancestral area reconstruction indicated that D. fissa occurred in the South China area.

One new species of the genus Capnogryllacris Karny, 1937 (Orthoptera: Gryllacrididae) from China.

Two new species of the genus Ocellarnaca Gorochov, 2004 (Orthoptera: Gryllacrididae) from China.

The paper reports two new species of the genus Ocellarnaca Gorochov, 2004 (Orthoptera: Gryllacrididae) from China, i.e. Ocellarnaca longiprotubera sp. nov. and Ocellarnaca grossa sp. nov. The type specimens are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University, Baoding 071002, China.

Review of the genus Woznessenskia Gorochov, 2002 (Orthoptera: Gryllacrididae) from China.

The paper reports four new species of the genus Woznessenskia Gorochov, 2002 and gives supplementary information on Woznessenskia curvicauda(Bey-Bienko, 1962) from China. The specimens examined are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University, Baoding, China.

The paper reports three new species of the genus Ocellarnaca Gorochov, 2004 (Orthoptera: Gryllacrididae) from China, i.e. Ocellarnaca brachyptera sp. nov., Ocellarnaca nigrofemora sp. nov., Ocellarnaca nigra sp. nov. The type specimens are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University, Baoding 071002, China.

Chuanicosmetura gen. nov. of the tribe Meconematini (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) from southwest China and Chuanicosmetura emarginata (Liu, 2000) comb. nov.

Chuanicosmetura gen. nov. (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Meconematinae) is established based on Chuanicosmetura emarginata (Liu, 2000) comb. nov. In this paper, this species was redescribed, and the male is firstly reported. Illustrations of important morphological characters are provided.

New species of the tribe Meconematini (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Meconematinae: Meconematini) from Sichuan, China.

Two new species of the subfamily Meconematinae are described, i.e. Neocyrtopsis (Neocyrtopsis) shimianensis Wang Shi, sp. nov. and Doicholobosa acuta Wang Shi, sp. nov. from Sichuan, China. All examined specimens are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University.

The genus Conocephalus (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Conocephalinae) from Guangdong and Nanling region, China with description of two new species.

This paper reports ten species of the genus Conocephalus Thunberg, 1815 from Guangdong and Nanling region, China, including two new species, i.e. Conocephalus (Anisoptera) dorsalidentatus Li, Zhang Shi, sp. nov. and Conocephalus (Anisoptera) nanlingensis Li, Xin Shi sp. nov. The characteristic photographs and habitus of several species are provided.

Review of the genus Diestramima Storozhenko, 1990 (Orthoptera: Rhaphidophoridae: Aemodogryllinae) from China.

In this paper, 6 new species, 1 new subspecies and 1 newly recorded species of the genus Diestramima from China are described, i.e. Diestramima acutiapicis sp. nov., Diestramima bina sp. nov., Diestramima cycla sp. nov., Diestramima truncata sp. nov., Diestramima subtilis sp. nov., Diestramima eurya sp. nov., Diestramima austrosinensis quaterna ssp. nov. and Diestramima major Gorochov, 1998. The morphological photographs of these and 8 known species are provided. All specimens examined are preserved in the Museum of Hebei University.

One new species of the genus Acosmetura and supplement of Acosmetura emeica Liu Zhou, 2007 (Tettigoniidae: Meconematinae) from Sichuan, China.

In this paper, one new species of the genus Acosmetura Liu, 2000 is described, i.e. Acosmetura longitubera sp. nov. from Sichuan, China, and distinctive characters are illustrated. In addition, supplementary description and morphological photographs of Acosmetura emeica Liu Zhou, 2007 from Emeishan, Sichuan are provided.

The genus Mimadiestra Storozhenko Dawwrueng, 2014 (Orthoptera: Rhaphidophoridae) from China, with description of two new species.

In this paper, the genus Mimadiestra Storozhenko Dawwrueng, 2014 is reported from China and two new species are described, i.e. Mimadiestra gracila sp. nov. and Mimadiestra dicha sp. nov. Morphological photographs of the two species are provided. All type specimens are preserved in the Museum of Hebei University.

First record of the subgenus Duolandrevus (Duolandrevus) (Orthoptera: Gryllidae: Landrevinae) from China, with description of a new species.

The subgenus Duolandrevus (Duolandrevus) Kirby, 1906 is recorded for the first time in China, a new species i.e.: Duolandrevus (Duolandrevus) bannanus sp. nov. was collected from Xishuangbanna of Yunnan province, China. The description and illustrations of the new species are provided. A distribution map of all species of Duolandrevus (Duolandrevus) in the world is presented.

One new species and one new recorded species of the genus Kuzicus (Tettigoniidae: Meconematinae: Meconematini) from China.

In this paper, a new species of the genus Kuzicus from China, Kuzicus (Kuzicus) leptocercus sp. nov., is described, with a new recorded species, Kuzicus (Kuzicus) koeppeli Sänger & Helfert, 2004 from China. The distribution data and morphological photographs of Kuzicus (Kuzicus) leptocercus sp. nov. and Kuzicus (Kuzicus) koeppeli Sänger & Helfert, 2004 are provided. All specimens are preserved in the Museum of Hebei University.

Formation of the acrosome complex in the bush cricket Gampsocleis gratiosa (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae).

The acrosome complex plays an indispensable role in the normal function of mature spermatozoa. However, the dynamic process of acrosome complex formation in insect remains poorly understood. Gampsocleis gratiosa Brunner von Wattenwyl possesses the typical characteristic of insect sperms, which is tractable in terms of size, and therefore was selected for the acrosome formation study in this report. The results show that acrosome formation can be divided into six phases: round, rotating, rhombic, cylindrical, transforming and mature phase, based on the morphological dynamics of acrosome complex and nucleus. In addition, the cytoskeleton plays a critical role in the process of acrosome formation. The results from this study indicate that: (1) glycoprotein is the major component of the acrosome proper; (2) the microfilament is one element of the acrosome complex, and may mediate the morphologic change of the acrosome complex; (3) the microtubules might also shape the nucleus and acrosome complex during the acrosome formation.

One new species of the genus Acosmetura (Tettigoniidae: Meconematinae) from Hubei, China.

One new species of the genus Acosmetura (Tettigoniidae: Meconematinae) is described, namely Acosmetura trigentis Wang, Bian & Shi sp. nov. from Hubei, China. In addition, morphological photographs and a distribution map are provided. The examined specimens are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University.

DNA Barcoding of genus Hexacentrus in China reveals cryptic diversity within Hexacentrus japonicus (Orthoptera, Tettigoniidae).

DNA barcoding has been proved successful to provide resolution beyond the boundaries of morphological information. Hence, a study was undertaken to establish DNA barcodes for all morphologically determined Hexacentrus species in China collections. In total, 83 specimens of five Hexacentrus species were barcoded using standard mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene. Except for Hexacentrus japonicus, barcode gaps were present in the remaining Hexacentrus species. Taxon ID tree generated seven BOLD's barcode index numbers (BINs), four of which were in agreement with the morphological species. For Hexacentrus japonicus, the maximum intraspecific divergence (4.43%) produced a minimal overlap (0.64%), and 19 specimens were divided into three different BINs. There may be cryptic species within the current Hexacentrus japonicus. This study adds to a growing body of DNA barcodes that have become available for katydids, and shows that a DNA barcoding approach enables the identification of known Hexacentrus species with a very high resolution.

First record of Sonotrella Gorochov (Orthoptera: Gryllidae) from Laos, with description of a new species.

The genus Sonotrella Gorochov, 1988 is recorded to Laos for the first time. A new species is described and illustrated, S. (Sonotrella) laosensis sp. nov. (type locality: Laos). A distribution map of the species of Sonotrella (Sonotrella) and a key to the subgenera of Sonotrella worldwide are given.

One new species of the genus Nigrimacula Shi, Bian & Zhou, 2016 (Orthoptera: Meconematinae) from Sichuan, China.

The paper describels one new species, i.e. Nigrimacula sichuanensis Wang & Shi, sp. nov. from Sichuan, China, and provides photographs of morphological characters. The type material is deposited in the Museum of Hebei University.
