RESUMO

Bacteriological and immunological indices were examined in patients with normal and dysbiotic intestinal microflora. Radon therapy demonstrated phasic pattern of its influence: negative changes in intestinal microflora immediately after the treatment course and normalization of intestinal microbiocenosis in the long-term period. The above trend was associated with positive responses in previously affected immune system.

RESUMO

Examinations of different patients with duodenal ulcer performed during one year revealed seasonal changes in the function of the regulatory systems. Secretion of histamine, serotonin, insulin, and hydrocortisone was increased in spring and reduced in autumn. Secretion of adrenalin, noradrenalin and acetylcholinesterase activity were high in summer and low in autumn. The acid-producing function of the stomach did not depend on the season. It is suggested that deviations in the activity of the regulatory systems in spring and autumn may cause seasonal exacerbations of duodenal ulcer.

RESUMO

Methods and efficacy of correction of kinesitherapy, body mass and cholesterolemia in CHD prevention were studied in 162 patients with pathology of the locomotor system combined with obesity in the Pyatigorsk health resort area. Various methods of exercise therapy and special diets (low-caloric and subcaloric--6694-10460 kJ) combined with methods of balneotherapy were used. Favorable shifts in the clinical status of patients, an increase in their physical activity 2-fold and more, a decrease in excess body mass, a decrease in the blood level of total cholesterol (in 78%), an increase in alpha-lipoprotein cholesterol (65%), and a decrease in cholesterol atherogenic index (in all patients with initial pathology) were noted.
