RESUMO

Powdery mildew (PM), caused by Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici, poses a significant threat to wheat production, necessitating the development of genetically resistant varieties for long-term control. Therefore, exploring genetic architecture of PM in wheat to uncover important genomic regions is an important area of wheat research. In recent years, the utilization of meta-QTL (MQTL) analysis has gained prominence as an essential tool for unraveling the complex genetic architecture underlying complex quantitative traits. The aim of this research was to conduct a QTL meta-analysis to pinpoint the specific genomic regions in wheat responsible for governing PM resistance. This study integrated 222 QTLs from 33 linkage-based studies using a consensus map with 54,672 markers. The analysis revealed 39 MQTLs, refined to 9 high-confidence MQTLs (hcMQTLs) with confidence intervals of 0.49 to 12.94 cM. The MQTLs had an average physical interval of 41.00 Mb, ranging from 0.000048 Mb to 380.71 Mb per MQTL. Importantly, 18 MQTLs co-localized with known resistance genes like Pm2, Pm3, Pm8, Pm21, Pm38, and Pm41. The study identified 256 gene models within hcMQTLs, providing potential targets for marker-assisted breeding and genomic prediction programs to enhance PM resistance. These MQTLs would serve as a foundation for fine mapping, gene isolation, and functional genomics studies, facilitating a deeper understanding of molecular mechanisms. The identification of candidate genes opens up exciting possibilities for the development of PM-resistant wheat varieties after validation.

RESUMO

AIMS: Insulin action is intertwined with changing levels of glucose and counter-regulatory hormone glucagon. While insulin lowers blood sugar level, glucagon raises it by promoting the breakdown of the stored glycogen in liver and releases glucose into the bloodstream. The hormones insulin and glucagon are key in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes (T2D). Insulin resistance is a primary predisposing factor for diabetes. Phosphorylation of insulin signaling molecules is altered in the insulin-resistant state. However, ubiquitin (Ub) modifications in insulin-resistant state are relatively understudied. To dissect the underlying mechanisms, we performed a proteomics study on hepatoma cells to study the regulation of ubiquitination by insulin and glucagon. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We performed western blotting, immunoprecipitations, and affinity pull down using tandem Ub binding entities (TUBE) reagents on hepatoma cells treated with insulin or glucagon. Next, we performed MS/MS analysis on Ub-linkage specific affinity pull down samples. Gene ontology analysis and protein-protein interaction network analysis was performed using DAVID GO and STRING db, respectively. KEY FINDINGS: The ubiquitination pattern of total Ub, K48-linked Ub, and K63-linked Ub was altered with the treatment of hormones insulin and glucagon. Ubiquitination in immunoprecipitated samples showed enrichment with total Ub and K48-linked Ub but not with K63-linked Ub. Ubiquitination by treatment with hormones mainly enriched key signaling pathways MAPK, Akt, oxidative stress etc. SIGNIFICANCE: Our study identified key altered proteins and signal transduction pathways which aids in understanding the mechanisms of hormonal action on ubiquitination and identify new therapeutic targets for T2D.

RESUMO

Low birth weight (LBW) is a leading cause of newborn's mortality however the underlying defects in cellular immunity and immune mechanisms leading to severe neonatal infections in term LBW (tLBW) newborns are not well understood. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), or NETosis, is an innate immune defense mechanism of neutrophils involved in trapping and killing of microbes. The efficiency of NET formation in cord blood derived neutrophils of tLBW and normal birth weight (NBW) newborns in the presence of toll like receptor (TLR) agonist inductions was evaluated. The NET formation was observed to be substantially impaired in tLBW newborns along with NET proteins expression, extracellular deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) release and reactive oxygen species generation. The placental tissues from tLBW newborns delivery also showed minimal NETosis. These findings suggest impaired NET formation to be an important factor underlying the deficient immune status of tLBW newborns making them susceptible to life- threatening infections.

RESUMO

Stem rust is one of the major diseases threatening wheat production globally. To identify novel resistance quantitative trait loci (QTLs), we performed 35K Axiom Array SNP genotyping assays on an association mapping panel of 400 germplasm accessions, including Indian landraces, in conjunction with phenotyping for stem rust at seedling and adult plant stages. Association analyses using three genome wide association study (GWAS) models (CMLM, MLMM, and FarmCPU) revealed 20 reliable QTLs for seedling and adult plant resistance. Among these 20 QTLs, five QTLs were found consistent with three models, i.e., four QTLs on chromosome 2AL, 2BL, 2DL, and 3BL for seedling resistance and one QTL on chromosome 7DS for adult plant resistance. Further, we identified a total of 21 potential candidate genes underlying QTLs using gene ontology analysis, including a leucine rich repeat receptor (LRR) and P-loop nucleoside triphosphate hydrolase, which have a role in pathogen recognition and disease resistance. Furthermore, four QTLs (Qsr.nbpgr-3B_11, QSr.nbpgr-6AS_11, QSr.nbpgr-2AL_117-6, and QSr.nbpgr-7BS_APR) were validated through KASP located on chromosomes 3B, 6A, 2A, and 7B. Out of these QTLs, QSr.nbpgr-7BS_APR was identified as a novel QTL for stem rust resistance which has been found effective in both seedling as well as the adult plant stages. Identified novel genomic regions and validated QTLs have the potential to be deployed in wheat improvement programs to develop disease resistant varieties for stem rust and can diversify the genetic basis of resistance.

RESUMO

Quinoxalinones are a privileged class of compounds, and their structural framework is found in many bioactive compounds, natural compounds, and pharmaceuticals. Quinoxalinone is a promising scaffold for different types of functionalization, and the slight modification of the quinoxalinone skeleton is known to offer a wide range of compounds for drug discovery. Owing to the importance of the quinoxalinone scaffold, we have developed a base-mediated protocol for the C3-alkylation of quinoxalinone followed by tandem cyclization to access novel types of strenuous and fused dihalo-aziridino-quinoxalinone heterocycles via the construction of C-C and C-N bonds. The protocol proved to be simple and practical to access desired fused quinoxalinone heterocycles in excellent yields (up to 98% yield). As an application, the highly functionalized fused dihalo-aziridino-quinoxalinone molecule has been further utilized for mono-dehalogenation under visible light irradiation and selective amide reduction. Moreover, the protocol has also been demonstrated on a gram scale.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Yellow or stripe rust, caused by the fungus Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst) is an important disease of wheat that threatens wheat production. Since developing resistant cultivars offers a viable solution for disease management, it is essential to understand the genetic basis of stripe rust resistance. In recent years, meta-QTL analysis of identified QTLs has gained popularity as a way to dissect the genetic architecture underpinning quantitative traits, including disease resistance. RESULTS: Systematic meta-QTL analysis involving 505 QTLs from 101 linkage-based interval mapping studies was conducted for stripe rust resistance in wheat. For this purpose, publicly available high-quality genetic maps were used to create a consensus linkage map involving 138,574 markers. This map was used to project the QTLs and conduct meta-QTL analysis. A total of 67 important meta-QTLs (MQTLs) were identified which were refined to 29 high-confidence MQTLs. The confidence interval (CI) of MQTLs ranged from 0 to 11.68 cM with a mean of 1.97 cM. The mean physical CI of MQTLs was 24.01 Mb, ranging from 0.0749 to 216.23 Mb per MQTL. As many as 44 MQTLs colocalized with marker-trait associations or SNP peaks associated with stripe rust resistance in wheat. Some MQTLs also included the following major genes- Yr5, Yr7, Yr16, Yr26, Yr30, Yr43, Yr44, Yr64, YrCH52, and YrH52. Candidate gene mining in high-confidence MQTLs identified 1,562 gene models. Examining these gene models for differential expressions yielded 123 differentially expressed genes, including the 59 most promising CGs. We also studied how these genes were expressed in wheat tissues at different phases of development. CONCLUSION: The most promising MQTLs identified in this study may facilitate marker-assisted breeding for stripe rust resistance in wheat. Information on markers flanking the MQTLs can be utilized in genomic selection models to increase the prediction accuracy for stripe rust resistance. The candidate genes identified can also be utilized for enhancing the wheat resistance against stripe rust after in vivo confirmation/validation using one or more of the following methods: gene cloning, reverse genetic methods, and omics approaches.

RESUMO

Low back pain is a multidimensional disorder that can originate from a variety of pain generators, including the sacroiliac (SI) joint. Although the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) is often used in SI joint treatment studies, the effects of the SI joint on functional disability are likely different from those of other low back pain generators. Thus, we developed the Denver SI Joint Questionnaire (DSIJQ) and performed validation testing in patients (n=24) with SI joint-specific pain at baseline, +2 weeks, and +6 months. Psychometric analyses included test-retest reliability, internal consistency, content validity, convergent criterion validity, divergent criterion validity, and responsiveness. The DSIJQ showed good test-retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient=0.87), internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha=0.842), content validity (<30% floor/ceiling effects), convergent criterion validity (r=0.89; P<.001), and divergent criterion validity (r=-0.33; P=.12). The DSIJQ was correlated with performance on two physical function tests: Timed Upand-Go (r=0.53; P=.008) and 5 Minute Walk (r=-0.52; P=.009). The DSIJQ showed better responsiveness than the ODI (standardized response mean and effect size, 1.14 and 1.45 for DSIJQ and 0.75 and 0.81 for ODI). Overall, the DSIJQ performed well on all psychometrics. Importantly, we validated the DSIJQ with patients' ability to complete two tests of physical functioning. Moreover, the DSIJQ was more sensitive to changes in SI joint disability than the ODI. These psychometrics suggest the DSIJQ is appropriate for evaluating SI joint disability and detecting changes in disability after targeted SI joint treatment. [Orthopedics. 2023;46(6):345-351.].

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Wheat is an important cereal crop that is cultivated in different parts of the world. The biotic stresses are the major concerns in wheat-growing nations and are responsible for production loss globally. The change in climate dynamics makes the pathogen more virulent in foothills and tropical regions. There is growing concern about FHB in major wheat-growing nations, and until now, there has been no known potential source of resistance identified in wheat germplasm. The plant pathogen interaction activates the cascade of pathways, genes, TFs, and resistance genes. Pathogenesis-related genes' role in disease resistance is functionally validated in different plant systems. Similarly, Genomewide association Studies (GWAS) and Genomic selection (GS) are promising tools and have led to the discovery of resistance genes, genomic regions, and novel markers. Fusarium graminearum produces deoxynivalenol (DON) mycotoxins in wheat kernels, affecting wheat productivity globally. Modern technology now allows for detecting and managing DON toxin to reduce the risk to humans and animals. This review offers a comprehensive overview of the roles played by GWAS and Genomic selection (GS) in the identification of new genes, genetic variants, molecular markers and DON toxin management strategies. METHODS: The review offers a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the function of Fusarium graminearum virulence factors in Durum wheat. The role of GWAS and GS for Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) resistance has been well described. This paper provides a comprehensive description of the various statistical models that are used in GWAS and GS. In this review, we look at how different detection methods have been used to analyze and manage DON toxin exposure. RESULTS: This review highlights the role of virulent genes in Fusarium disease establishment. The role of genome-based selection offers the identification of novel QTLs in resistant wheat germplasm. The role of GWAS and GS selection has minimized the use of population development through breeding technology. Here, we also emphasized the function of recent technological developments in minimizing the impact of DON toxins and their implications for food safety.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: There are few prior reports of acute pelvic instrumentation failure in spinal deformity surgery. The objective of this study was to determine if a previously identified mechanism and rate of pelvic fixation failure were present across multiple institutions, and to determine risk factors for these types of failures. METHODS: Thirteen academic medical centers performed a retrospective review of 18 months of consecutive adult spinal fusions extending 3 or more levels, which included new pelvic screws at the time of surgery. Acute pelvic fixation failure was defined as occurring within 6 months of the index surgery and requiring surgical revision. RESULTS: Failure occurred in 37 (5%) of 779 cases and consisted of either slippage of the rods or displacement of the set screws from the screw tulip head (17 cases), screw shaft fracture (9 cases), screw loosening (9 cases), and/or resultant kyphotic fracture of the sacrum (6 cases). Revision strategies involved new pelvic fixation and/or multiple rod constructs. Six patients (16%) who underwent revision with fewer than 4 rods to the pelvis sustained a second acute failure, but no secondary failures occurred when at least 4 rods were used. In the univariate analysis, the magnitude of surgical correction was higher in the failure cohort (higher preoperative T1-pelvic angle [T1PA], presence of a 3-column osteotomy; p < 0.05). Uncorrected postoperative deformity increased failure risk (pelvic incidence-lumbar lordosis mismatch > 10°, higher postoperative T1PA; p < 0.05). Use of pelvic screws less than 8.5 mm in diameter also increased the likelihood of failure (p < 0.05). In the multivariate analysis, a larger preoperative global deformity as measured by T1PA was associated with failure, male patients were more likely to experience failure than female patients, and there was a strong association with implant manufacturer (p < 0.05). Anterior column support with an L5-S1 interbody fusion was protective against failure (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Acute catastrophic failures involved large-magnitude surgical corrections and likely resulted from high mechanical strain on the pelvic instrumentation. Patients with large corrections may benefit from anterior structural support placed at the most caudal motion segment and multiple rods connecting to more than 2 pelvic fixation points. If failure occurs, salvage with a minimum of 4 rods and 4 pelvic fixation points can be successful.

RESUMO

Intraoperative computed tomography scanning with O-arm and use of Stealth navigation can improve surgical outcomes in a variety of orthopedic subspecialties. In spine surgery, the accuracy, precision, and safety of pedicle screw and interbody implant placement has improved. This technology is now routinely used in percutaneous pedicle screw placement and minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion. Other applications include, but are not limited to, isthmic pars defect repair, lumbosacral pseudoarticulation resection in Bertolotti's syndrome, radiofrequency ablation, and en bloc tumor resection. Intraoperative navigation has numerous applications, and use of this technology should continue to evolve as the technology advances. [Orthopedics. 2023;46(2):e89-e97.].

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: During the last few decades, the diverse sources of resistance, several genes and QTLs for spot blotch resistance have been identified. However, a large set of germplasm lines are still unexplored that have the potential to develop highly resistant wheat cultivars for the target environments. Therefore, the identification of new sources of resistance to spot blotch is essential for breeding programmes to develop spot blotch resistant cultivars and sustain wheat production. The association mapping panel of 294 diverse bread wheat accessions was used to explore new sources of spot blotch disease resistance and to identify genomic regions using genome wide association analysis (GWAS). The genotypes were tested in replicated trials for spot blotch disease at three major hot spots in India (Varanasi in UP, Pusa in Bihar, and Cooch Behar in West Bengal). The area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC) was calculated to assess the level of resistance in each genotype. RESULTS: A total of 19 highly and 76 moderately resistant lines were identified. Three accessions (EC664204, IC534306 and IC535188) were nearly immune to spot blotch disease. The genotyping of all accessions resulted in a total of 16,787 high-quality polymorphic SNPs. The GWAS was performed using a Compressed Mixed Linear Model (CMLM) and a Mixed Linear Model (MLM). A total of seven significant MTAs, common in both the models and consistent across the environment, were further validated to develop KASP markers. Four MTAs (AX-94710084, AX-94865722, AX-95135556, and AX-94529408) on three chromosomes (2AL, 2BL, and 3BL) have been successfully validated through the KASP marker. CONCLUSIONS: The new source of resistance was identified from unexplored germplasm lines. The genomic regions identified through GWAS were validated through KASP markers. The marker information and the highly resistant sources are valuable resources to rapidly develop immune or near immune wheat varieties.

RESUMO

Following herniation of the intervertebral disc, there is a need for advanced surgical strategies to protect the diseased tissue from further herniation and to minimize further degeneration. Accordingly, a novel tissue engineered implant for annulus fibrosus (AF) repair was fabricated via three-dimensional fiber deposition and evaluated in a large animal model. Specifically, lumbar spine kinetics were assessed for eight (n = 8) cadaveric ovine lumbar spines in three pure moment loading settings (flexion-extension, lateral bending, and axial rotation) and three clinical conditions (intact, with a defect in the AF, and with the defect treated using the AF repair implant). In ex vivo testing, seven of the fifteen evaluated biomechanical measures were significantly altered by the defect. In each of these cases, the treated spine more closely approximated the intact biomechanics and four of these cases were also significantly different to the defect. The same spinal kinetics were also assessed in a preliminary in vivo study of three (n = 3) ovine lumbar spines 12 weeks post-implantation. Similar to the ex vivo results, functional efficacy of the treatment was demonstrated as compared to the defect model at 12 weeks post-implantation. These promising results motivate a future large animal study cohort which will establish statistical power of these results further elucidate the observed outcomes, and provide a platform for clinical translation of this novel AF repair patch strategy. Ultimately, the developed approach to AF repair holds the potential to maintain the long-term biomechanical function of the spine and prevent symptomatic re-herniation.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a grade IV, highly proliferative, and malignant form of brain tumor with a 5-year survival rate at ~ 5%. Current treatment strategies for GBM include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Major challenges in GBM management include difficulties in surgical resection due to brain's vital functions and GBM metastasis, development of resistance to temozolomide (TMZ), and protection of tumor by blood brain barrier (BBB). Therefore, we aimed to discover a novel therapeutic for GBM by targeting its metabolic reprogramming. METHOD: We screened metabolic inhibitors by their effects on GBM cell viability by MTT assay. We discovered an FDA-approved drug stiripentol (STP) in our screening of metabolic inhibitors in GBM cells. STP is used for Dravet syndrome (a rare epilepsy). We further tested efficacy of STP using proliferation assay, clonogenic assay, in vitro migration assay, cell cycle assay, apoptosis assay, and in U87 3D spheroids. We also tested the toxicity of STP, and combinations used in the study on normal human dermal fibroblasts. RESULTS: STP was effective in decreasing GBM cell viability, proliferation, clonogenic ability, and migration. Moreover, cell cycle changes were involved but robust apoptosis was absent in STP's anticancer effects. STP was effective in 3D spheroid models, and in TMZ-resistant cells. STP showed additive or synergistic effect with TMZ in different anticancer assays on GBM cells and was considerably less toxic in normal cells. CONCLUSION: Our results indicate that STP can be an effective GBM therapeutic that enhances the effects of TMZ on GBM cells. Importantly, STP reduced viability of TMZ-resistant cells. Our results warrant further studies in the mechanistic basis of STP's effects on GBM cells and the preclinical potential of STP in animal models.

RESUMO

The cyanation of organic compounds is an important synthetic transformation and mainly relies on a toxic CN source. Undeniably, thiocyanate salt has emerged as a very mild and environmentally benign CN source, yet its synthetic utility for cyanation is highly limited to very few types of organic compounds. Herein, we report the direct cyanation of cyclic thioacetals for accessing compounds with two different functional groups (thiocyano-thioesters) in one pot using sodium thiocyanate via photoredox catalysis. The protocol has been further extended for the direct cyanation of disulfides and diselenide to access aryl thiocyanates and aryl selenocyanate. A plausible mechanism has been proposed based on a series of control experiments, cyclic voltammetry and Stern-Volmer studies.

RESUMO

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths. There is an urgent need for new targets to treat HCC due to limited treatment options and drug resistance. Many cancer cells are known to have high amount of glycogen than their tissue of origin and inhibition of glycogen catabolism induces cancer cell death by apoptosis. To further understand the role of glycogen in HCC and target it for pharmacotherapy, we studied metabolic adaptations and mitochondrial function in HepG2 cells after pharmacological inhibition of glycogen phosphorylase (GP) by CP-91149 (CP). GP inhibition increased the glycogen levels in HepG2 cells without affecting overall glucose uptake. Glycolytic capacity and importantly glycolytic reserve decreased significantly. Electron microscopy revealed that CP treatment altered mitochondrial morphology leading to mitochondrial swelling with less defined cristae. A concomitant decrease in mitochondrial oxygen consumption and mitochondria-linked ATP generation was observed. Metabolomics and enzyme activity / expression studies showed a decrease in the pentose phosphate pathway. In addition, CP treatment decreased the growth of HepG2 3D tumor spheroids in a dose- and time-dependent manner. Taken together, our study provides insights into metabolic alterations and mitochondrial dysfunction accompanying apoptosis in HepG2 cells upon GP inhibition. Our study can aid in the understanding of the mechanism and development of metabolic inhibitors to treat HCC.

RESUMO

STUDY DESIGN: Rat spine fusion model. OBJECTIVE: The present study aimed to determine whether administration of osteoprotegerin (OPG) in a rat model of spinal fusion increases bone volume, bone density, and decreases osteoclasts in the fusion mass. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: OPG is a soluble RANK-ligand inhibitor that blocks osteoclast differentiation and activation. This makes it a potential agent to control the remodeling process and enhance bone mass during spinal fusion. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Forty-eight male Sprague-Dawley rats received a one-level spinal fusion of L4-L5 with bone allograft. Rats were then divided into four groups according to initiation of treatment: (1) saline on day 0 (saline), (2) OPG on day 0 (OPG D0), (3) OPG on day 10 (OPG D10), and (4) OPG on day 21 (OPG D21) postsurgery. After their initial injection, rats received weekly subcutaneous injections of OPG (10 mg/kg) and were euthanized six weeks postsurgery. MicroCT analysis of the fusion site and histological analysis of bone surface for quantification of osteoclast lining was performed. RESULTS: Increased bone volume in the fusion site and around the spinous process was seen in OPG D0 and OPG D10 when compared with saline. Mean trabecular thickness was greater in all groups receiving OPG compared with saline, with OPG D0 and OPG D10 having significantly greater mean trabecular thickness than OPG D21. All OPG groups had less bone surface lined with osteoclasts when compared with Saline, with OPG D0 and OPG D10 having fewer than OPG D21. CONCLUSIONS: This study indicates that OPG inhibited osteoclast bone resorption, which led to greater bone at the fusion site. Future studies investigating OPG on its own or in combination with an osteogenic factor to improve spinal fusion outcomes are warranted to further elucidate its potential therapeutic effect.

RESUMO

CASE: Ten days after L3-L5 instrumented posterior lumbar spinal fusion, an 85-year-old woman developed Grade 4 spondylolisthesis at L5-S1 after a minor fall. She underwent posterior open reduction and internal fixation with extension of fusion from L2 to the pelvis. The preexisting hardware at L5 caused partial laceration of the right L5 nerve root. One year after surgery, computed tomography demonstrated maintenance of correction and fusion at L5-S1. CONCLUSION: High-grade lumbosacral spondylolisthesis can occur with minor trauma after short-segment lumbar fusion. Maintenance of correction and fusion is achievable with posterior open reduction and internal fixation to the pelvis alone. RESUMO

Wheat is one of the major staple cereal food crops in India. However, most of the wheat-growing areas experience several biotic and abiotic stresses, resulting in poor quality grains and reduced yield. To ensure food security for the growing population in India, there is a compelling need to explore the untapped genetic diversity available in gene banks for the development of stress-resistant/tolerant cultivars. The improvement of any crop lies in exploring and harnessing the genetic diversity available in its genetic resources in the form of cultivated varieties, landraces, wild relatives, and related genera. A huge collection of wheat genetic resources is conserved in various gene banks across the globe. Molecular and phenotypic characterization followed by documentation of conserved genetic resources is a prerequisite for germplasm utilization in crop improvement. The National Genebank of India has an extensive and diverse collection of wheat germplasm, comprising Indian wheat landraces, primitive cultivars, breeding lines, and collection from other countries. The conserved germplasm can contribute immensely to the development of wheat cultivars with high levels of biotic and abiotic stress tolerance. Breeding wheat varieties that can give high yields under different stress environments has not made much headway due to high genotypes and environmental interaction, non-availability of truly resistant/tolerant germplasm, and non-availability of reliable markers linked with the QTL having a significant impact on resistance/tolerance. The development of new breeding technologies like genomic selection (GS), which takes into account the G × E interaction, will facilitate crop improvement through enhanced climate resilience, by combining biotic and abiotic stress resistance/tolerance and maximizing yield potential. In this review article, we have summarized different constraints being faced by Indian wheat-breeding programs, challenges in addressing biotic and abiotic stresses, and improving quality and nutrition. Efforts have been made to highlight the wealth of Indian wheat genetic resources available in our National Genebank and their evaluation for the identification of trait-specific germplasm. Promising genotypes to develop varieties of important targeted traits and the development of different genomics resources have also been highlighted.
