RESUMO

Individuals with social anxiety often exhibit atypical processing of facial expressions. Previous research in social anxiety has primarily emphasized cognitive bias associated with face processing and the corresponding abnormalities in cortico-limbic circuitry, yet whether social anxiety influences early perceptual processing of emotional faces remains largely unknown. We used a psychophysical method to investigate the monocular advantage for face perception (i.e., face stimuli are better recognized when presented to the same eye compared to different eyes), an effect that is indicative of early, subcortical processing of face stimuli. We compared the monocular advantage for different emotional expressions (neutral, angry and sad) in three groups (N = 24 per group): individuals clinically diagnosed with social anxiety disorder (SAD), individuals with high social anxiety in subclinical populations (SSA), and a healthy control (HC) group of individuals matched for age and gender. Compared to SSA and HC groups, we found that individuals with SAD exhibited a greater monocular advantage when processing neutral and sad faces. While the magnitudes of monocular advantages were similar across three groups when processing angry faces, individuals with SAD performed better in this condition when the faces were presented to different eye. The former findings suggest that social anxiety leads to an enhanced role of subcortical structures in processing nonthreatening expressions. The latter findings, on the other hand, likely reflect an enhanced cortical processing of threatening expressions in SAD group. These distinct patterns of monocular advantage indicate that social anxiety altered representation of emotional faces at various stages of information processing, starting at an early stage of the visual system.

RESUMO

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a crucial staple crop worldwide, and bacterial diseases are among the primary factors affecting rice yield. In late October 2022, bacterial leaf streak disease was observed on the leaves of the rice variety Meixiangzhan 2 across multiple fields (approximately 130 hm2) in Leizhou City, Guangdong Province, China. The incidence rate was up to 30% in each field. Infected rice leaves exhibited distinctive symptoms at the boundary between diseased and healthy tissue, featuring dark green to yellow-brown streaks, while most of the leaf margin exhibited symptoms of either leaf edge or sheath rot. Disease progression from the leaf tip inwards revealed gray-white or dehydrated lesions with a bluish-gray color. Some leaves exhibited wrinkling at the edges, and severe symptoms at the leaf tip resembled those of bacterial leaf blight in rice. Ten leaves were collected from 10 infected rice plants in three distinct fields, and leaf pieces at the border of diseased and healthy areas were surface disinfected with 75% anhydrous ethanol for 60 seconds, rinsed three times with sterile water, and then soaked in sterile water for 8 hours. The obtained bacterial suspension was diluted at a ratio of 1: 106, and 100 µL of the diluted samples were plated on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) plates. After incubation at 28°C for 48 hours, the yellow bacterial colonies that appeared, were purified on PDA plates. To confirm the bacterial species, the amplification of genes gyrB, leuS, rpoB, and 16S rDNA was performed on six randomly selected isolates from the three different fields using the primers 27F/1492R, gyrB-F/R, leuS-F/R and rpoB-F/R, as reported by Yu et al (2022), respectively. PCR products were sequenced. All six isolates had identical sequences for all genes sequenced. The gene sequences of 16S rDNA (960 bp), gyrB (953 bp), leuS (733 bp), and rpoB (877 bp) for LZ1, were deposited in the NCBI database under accession numbers PP048830 , PP068625 , PP068626, and PP068627, respectively. These sequences were subsequently compared using BLASTn tool against the NCBI nr/nt database. The 16S rDNA, gyrB, leuS, and rpoB of LZ1 showed similarities of 99.90%, 99.16%, 99.73%, and 99.89%, with the corresponding sequences of P. ananatis TZ39 (GenBank accession numbers MZ800600.1 for 16S rDNA, and CP081342.1 for gyrB, leuS and rpoB ). MLSA analysis using concatenated sequences of gyrB, leuS, and rpoB genes indicated that the isolated strain LZ1 belongs to P. ananatis. In the tillering stage of rice varieties Meixiangzhan 2 and Huahangyuzhan, P. ananatis LZ1 was inoculated at a concentration of 108 CFU/mL using the leaf-cutting method, with sterile water used as a control (Toh et al., 2019). After 14 days of bacterial inoculation, the inoculated leaves gradually became necrotic, changing from light green to brown showing identical symptoms as those in the field, while the control plants remained symptom-free. Subsequent 16S rDNA, gyrB, leuS and rpoB gene sequencing results further confirmed the identity of the pathogen as P. ananatis, thereby fulfilling Koch's postulates. Previous reports have already identified P. ananatis as the pathogen causing rice bacterial leaf streak (Kini et al., 2017; Arayaskul et al., 2019; Yu et al., 2022; Lu et al., 2022; Luna et al., 2023; Yuan et al., 2023). This is the first report of rice bacterial leaf streak caused by P. ananatis in Guangdong Province, China, laying the foundation for future research to establish strategies for the prevention and control of this disease.

RESUMO

Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) are generally characterized as less invasive forms of thyroid cancer with favorable prognosis. However, once lateral cervical lymph node metastasis takes place, the prognosis may be significantly impacted. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether there is a difference in the pattern of lateral lymph node metastasis between PTC and PTMC. A retrospective analysis was performed for PTC and PTMC patients that underwent central area dissection and unilateral lateral neck lymph node dissection (II-V area) between January 2020 and December 2021. Compared with PTMC group, the PTC group exhibited higher incidence of capsule invasion, extrathyroid invasion and lymphatic vessel invasion. Both the number and rate of central lymph nodes metastasis were elevated in the PTC group. While the number of lateral cervical lymph node metastasis was higher, the metastasis rate did not demonstrate significant difference. No significant differences were identified in the lymph node metastasis patterns between the 2 groups. The determination of the extent of lateral neck lymph node dissection solely based on the tumor size may be unreliable, as PTC and PTMC showed no difference in the number and pattern of lateral neck metastasis. Additional clinical data are warranted to reinforce this conclusion. For patients categorized as unilateral, bilateral, or contralateral cervical lymph node metastasis (including level I, II, III, IV, or V) or retropharyngeal lymph node metastasis who require unilateral lateral neck dissection, the size of the primary tumor may not need to be a central consideration when assessing and deciding the extent of lateral neck dissection.

RESUMO

Peritoneal metastasis (PM) is considered one of the most dreaded forms of cancer metastases for both patients and physicians. Aggressive cytoreductive surgery (CRS) is the primary treatment for peritoneal metastasis. Unfortunately, this intensive treatment frequently causes clinical complications, such as postoperative recurrence, metastasis, and adhesion formation. Emerging evidence suggests that neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) released by inflammatory neutrophils contribute to these complications. Effective NET-targeting strategies thus show considerable potential in counteracting these complications but remain challenging. Here, one type of sulfoxide-containing homopolymer, PMeSEA, with potent fouling-resistant and NET-inhibiting capabilities, is synthesized and screened. Hydrating sulfoxide groups endow PMeSEA with superior nonfouling ability, significantly inhibiting protein/cell adhesion. Besides, the polysulfoxides can be selectively oxidized by ClO- which is required to stabilize the NETs rather than H2O2, and ClO- scavenging effectively inhibits NETs formation without disturbing redox homeostasis in tumor cells and quiescent neutrophils. As a result, PMeSEA potently prevents postoperative adhesions, significantly suppresses peritoneal metastasis, and shows synergetic antitumor activity with chemotherapeutic 5-Fluorouracil. Moreover, coupling CRS with PMeSEA potently inhibits CRS-induced tumor metastatic relapse and postoperative adhesions. Notably, PMeSEA exhibits low in vivo acute and subacute toxicities, implying significant potential for clinical postoperative adjuvant treatment.

RESUMO

Microbes, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other eukaryotic organisms, are commonly present in multiple organs of the human body and contribute significantly to both physiological and pathological processes. Nowadays, the development of sequencing technology has revealed the presence and composition of the intratumoral microbiota, which includes Fusobacterium, Bifidobacteria, and Bacteroides, and has shed light on the significant involvement in the progression of colorectal cancer (CRC). Here, we summarized the current understanding of the intratumoral microbiota in CRC and outline the potential translational and clinical applications in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of CRC. We focused on reviewing the development of microbial therapies targeting the intratumoral microbiota to improve the efficacy and safety of chemotherapy and immunotherapy for CRC and to identify biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of CRC. Finally, we emphasized the obstacles and potential solutions to translating the knowledge of the intratumoral microbiota into clinical practice.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: Opioid-free anaesthesia (OFA) has emerged as a promising approach for mitigating the adverse effects associated with opioids. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of OFA on postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) following video-assisted thoracic surgery. DESIGN: Single-centre randomised controlled trial. SETTING: Tertiary hospital in Shanghai, China. PARTICIPANTS: Patients undergoing video-assisted thoracic surgery were recruited from September 2021 to June 2022. INTERVENTION: Patients were randomly allocated to OFA or traditional general anaesthesia with a 1:1 allocation ratio. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OUTCOME MEASURES: The primary outcome measure was the incidence of PONV within 48 hours post-surgery, and the secondary outcomes included PONV severity, postoperative pain, haemodynamic changes during anaesthesia, and length of stay (LOS) in the recovery ward and hospital. RESULTS: A total of 86 and 88 patients were included in the OFA and control groups, respectively. Two patients were excluded because of severe adverse events including extreme bradycardia and epilepsy-like convulsion. The incidence and severity of PONV did not significantly differ between the two groups (29 patients (33.0%) in the control group and 22 patients (25.6%) in the OFA group; relative risk 0.78, 95% CI 0.49 to 1.23; p=0.285). Notably, the OFA approach used was associated with an increase in heart rate (89±17 vs 77±15 beats/min, t-test: p<0.001; U test: p<0.001) and diastolic blood pressure (87±17 vs 80±13 mm Hg, t-test: p=0.003; U test: p=0.004) after trachea intubation. Conversely, the control group exhibited more median hypotensive events per patient (mean 0.5±0.8 vs 1.0±2.0, t-test: p=0.02; median 0 (0-4) vs 0 (0-15), U test: p=0.02) during surgery. Postoperative pain scores, and LOS in the recovery ward and hospital did not significantly differ between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS: Our study findings suggest that the implementation of OFA does not effectively reduce the incidence of PONV following thoracic surgery when compared with traditional total intravenous anaesthesia. The opioid-free strategy used in our study may be associated with severe adverse cardiovascular events. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: ChiCTR2100050738.

RESUMO

This study examines the relationship between the variance of others' contributions, social norms (empirical and normative expectations), and cooperative behavior using a classic linear public goods game. The following results are observed. First, the variance of a participant's group members' contributions had a negative impact on their contributions, empirical expectations, and normative expectations. Second, deviations from the mean, whether negative or positive, were deemed less socially appropriate. Third, while there was a strong relationship between variance, social norms, and cooperative behavior, the mediating effect of social norms was found to be insignificant. Finally, there were some notable findings regarding behavior type. Although free riders and cooperators exhibited distinct behavioral patterns, their normative expectations were similar. Free riders expected others to cooperate, but their empirical expectations were significantly lower than cooperators' expectations, which were aligned with their actual contributions. These findings contribute to research on the relationship between distribution heterogeneity, social norms and cooperative behavior. Furthermore, these findings provide valuable insights into management practices.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Lacunes are associated with cognitive impairment. We sought to identify strategic lacune locations associated with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and subtypes of MCI among older adults, and further to examine the role of white matter hyperintensities and perivascular spaces in the association. METHODS: This population-based cross-sectional study included 1230 dementia-free participants in the brain magnetic resonance imaging substudy (2018-2020) in MIND-China (Multimodal Interventions to Delay Dementia and Disability in Rural China). Lacunes were visually identified in frontal lobe, parieto-occipital lobe, temporal lobe, insula, basal ganglia, thalamus, cerebellum, and brainstem. MCI, amnestic MCI (aMCI), and nonamnestic MCI (naMCI) were defined following the Petersen's criteria. Data were analyzed using logistic regression models. RESULTS: Of the 1230 participants (age, ≥60 years; mean age, 69.40; SD, 4.30 years; 58.5% women), lacunes were detected in 357 people and MCI was defined in 286 individuals, including 243 with aMCI and 43 with naMCI. Lacunes in the supratentorial area, internal capsula, putamen/pallidum, and insula was significantly associated with increased odds ratio of MCI (multivariable-adjusted odds ratio ranged 1.40-3.21; P<0.05) and aMCI (multivariable-adjusted odds ratio ranged 1.46-3.36; P<0.05), whereas lacunes in the infratentorial area and brainstem were significantly associated with naMCI (multivariable-adjusted odds ratio ranged 2.68-3.46; P<0.01). Furthermore, the associations of lacunes in insula and internal capsula with MCI and aMCI, as well as the associations of lacunes in infratentorial area and brainstem with naMCI were present independent of white matter hyperintensities volume and perivascular spaces number. CONCLUSIONS: Lacunes in the internal capsula, putamen/pallidum, insula, and brainstem may represent the strategic lacunes that are independently associated with MCI, aMCI, or naMCI in Chinese older adults. RESUMO

The history of virology, which is marked by transformative breakthroughs, spans microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology. From the development of Jenner's smallpox vaccine in 1796 to 20th-century innovations such as ultrafiltration and electron microscopy, the field of virology has undergone significant development. In 1898, Beijerinck laid the conceptual foundation for virology, marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of the discipline. Advancements in influenza A virus research in 1933 by Richard Shope furthered our understanding of respiratory pathogens. Additionally, in 1935, Stanley's determination of viruses as solid particles provided substantial progress in the field of virology. Key milestones include elucidation of reverse transcriptase by Baltimore and Temin in 1970, late 20th-century revelations linking viruses and cancer, and the discovery of HIV by Sinoussi, Montagnier, and Gallo in 1983, which has since shaped AIDS research. In the 21st century, breakthroughs such as gene technology, mRNA vaccines, and phage display tools were achieved in virology, demonstrating its potential for integration with molecular biology. The achievements of COVID-19 vaccines highlight the adaptability of virology to global health.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND & AIMS: Oxysterols have been implicated in biliary tract cancer (BTC), and Niemann-Pick C1-like 1 (NPC1L1) has been associated with oxysterol uptake in biliary and intestinal cells. Thus, our study aims to investigate the potential causal link between genetically proxied NPC1L1 inhibitors and the risk of BTC. METHODS: In this study, we employed two genetic instruments as proxies for NPC1L1 inhibitors, which included LDL cholesterol-associated genetic variants located within or in close proximity to the NPC1L1 gene, as well as expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs) of the NPC1L1 gene. Effect estimates were calculated using the Inverse-variance-weighted MR (IVW-MR) and summary-data-based MR (SMR) methods. RESULTS: In MR analysis using the IVW method, both proxy instruments from the UK Biobank and the GLGC demonstrated a positive association between NPC1L1-mediated LDL cholesterol and BTC risk, with odds ratios (OR) of 10.30 (95% CI = 1.51-70.09; P = 0.017) and 5.61 (95% CI = 1.43-21.91; P = 0.013), respectively. Moreover, SMR analysis revealed a significant association between elevated NPC1L1 expression and increased BTC risk (OR = 1.19, 95% CI = 1.04-1.37; P = 0.014). CONCLUSIONS: This MR study suggests a causal link between NPC1L1 inhibition and reduced BTC risk. NPC1L1 inhibitors, like ezetimibe, show potential for chemoprevention in precancerous BTC patients, requiring further clinical investigation.

RESUMO

Osteogenesis is caused by multiple factors, and the inflammatory response, osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs), regeneration of blood vessels, and other factors must be considered in bone tissue engineering. To effectively repair bone defect, it is important to decrease excessive inflammation, enhance the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells into osteoblasts, and stimulate angiogenesis. Herein, nano-attapulgite (ATP), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and gelatin (GEL) scaffolds were produced using 3D printing technology and pioglitazone (PIO)-containing polylactic acid-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanospheres were added. In both in vitro and in vivo studies, material scaffolds with PIO-loaded polylactic acid-glycolic acid nanospheres could reduce the inflammatory response by encouraging macrophage polarization from M1 to M2 and promoting the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs by activating the BMP2/Smad/RUNX2 signal pathway to repair bone defects. The vascularization of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) through the PI3K/AKT/HIF1-/VEGF pathway was also encouraged. In vivo research using PIO-containing PLGA nanospheres revealed massive collagen deposition in skin models. These findings indicate a potentially effective scaffold for bone healing, when PLGA nanospheres-which contain the drug PIO-are combined with ATP/PVA/GEL scaffolds.

RESUMO

Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is regarded as the "energy currency" in living cells, so real-time quantification of content variation of intracellular ATP is highly desired for understanding some important physiological processes. Due to its single-molecule readout ability, nanopipette sensing has emerged as a powerful technique for molecular sensing. In this study, based on the effect of targeting-aptamer binding on ionic current, and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET), we reported a dual-signal readout nanopipette sensing system for monitoring ATP content variation at the subcellular level. In the presence of ATP, the complementary DNA-modified gold nanoparticles (cDNAs-AuNPs) were released from the inner wall of the nanopipette, which leads to sensitive response variations in ionic current rectification and fluorescence intensity. The developed nanopipette sensor was capable of detecting ATP in single cells, and the fluctuation of ATP content in the differentiation of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) was further quantified with this method. The study provides a more reliable nanopipette sensing platform due to the introduction of fluorescence readout signals. Significantly, the study of energy fluctuation during cell differentiation from the perspective of energy metabolism is helpful for differentiation regulation and cell therapy.

RESUMO

Detecting visual features in the environment is crucial for animals' survival. The superior colliculus (SC) is implicated in motion detection and processing, whereas how the SC integrates visual inputs from the two eyes remains unclear. Using in vivo electrophysiology, we show that mouse SC contains many binocular neurons that display robust ocular dominance (OD) plasticity in a critical period during early development, which is similar to, but not dependent on, the primary visual cortex. NR2A- and NR2B-containing N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors play an essential role in the regulation of SC plasticity. Blocking NMDA receptors can largely prevent the impairment of predatory hunting caused by monocular deprivation, indicating that maintaining the binocularity of SC neurons is required for efficient hunting behavior. Together, our studies reveal the existence and function of OD plasticity in SC, which broadens our understanding of the development of subcortical visual circuitry relating to motion detection and predatory hunting.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: This study compares endoscopic thyroidectomy by gasless unilateral axillary approach (ETGUA) and sternocleidomastoid leading-edge approach (SLEA) with conventional open thyroidectomy (COT) in hemithyroidectomy. The main focus is on the protection of neck muscles (sternocleidomastoid, omohyoid, sternothyroid) and the postoperative function of voice and swallowing yielded through these common approaches. METHODS: A total of 302 patients who underwent hemithyroidectomy were enrolled and divided into three groups: ETGUA (n = 101), SLEA (n = 100), and COT (n = 101). Ultrasound was used to measure the thickness of bilateral neck muscles, including the sternocleidomastoid, omohyoid, and sternothyroid. The changes in thickness on the surgical side compared to the non-surgical side. Analyzed factors included muscle thickness changes, Swallowing Impairment Score (SIS), Voice Handicap Index (VHI), Scar Cosmesis Assessment and Rating (SCAR), Neck Injury Index (NII), surgery duration, drainage volume, hospitalization, and number of lymph nodes. RESULTS: The clinical characteristics among the three groups were consistent except for differences in sex, age, and BMI. Metrics such as sternocleidomastoid muscle, NII, hypocalcemia, postoperative PTH, transient hoarseness, and number of lymph nodes showed no significant differences among the three groups. However, significant differences were found in the duration of surgery, drainage volume, hospitalization period omohyoid muscle, Sternohyoid muscle, VHI, SIS, and SCAR (all p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: In comparison to COT, ETGUA and SLEA demonstrate superiority in protecting neck muscles and preserving voice and swallowing function without compromising surgical safety or radicality.

RESUMO

Visual training has emerged as a useful framework for investigating training-related brain plasticity, a highly complex task involving the interaction of visual orientation, attention, reasoning, and cognitive functions. However, the effects of long-term visual training on microstructural changes within white matter (WM) is poorly understood. Therefore, a set of visual training programs was designed, and automated fiber tract subclassification segmentation quantification based on diffusion magnetic resonance imaging was performed to obtain the anatomical changes in the brains of visual trainees. First, 40 healthy matched participants were randomly assigned to the training group or the control group. The training group underwent 10 consecutive weeks of visual training. Then, the fiber tracts of the subjects were automatically identified and further classified into fiber clusters to determine the differences between the two groups on a detailed scale. Next, each fiber cluster was divided into segments that can analyze specific areas of a fiber cluster. Lastly, the diffusion metrics of the two groups were comparatively analyzed to delineate the effects of visual training on WM microstructure. Our results showed that there were significant differences in the fiber clusters of the cingulate bundle, thalamus frontal, uncinate fasciculus, and corpus callosum between the training group compared and the control group. In addition, the training group exhibited lower mean fractional anisotropy, higher mean diffusivity and radial diffusivity than the control group. Therefore, the long-term cognitive activities, such as visual training, may systematically influence the WM properties of cognition, attention, memory, and processing speed.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Post-ERCP pneumobilia is not uncommon; however, studies focusing on the long-term prognosis of patients with post-ERCP pneumobilia are limited. This study aimed to explore long-term prognosis and risk factors associated with post-ERCP pneumobilia in patients with common bile duct stones (CBDSs). METHODS: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 1380 patients who underwent ERCP for CBDSs at our hospital from January 2010 to December 2017. Patients were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and divided into pneumobilia and nonpneumobilia groups, followed by propensity score matching. The matched groups were then compared in terms of incidence rates of both single and multiple recurrences of CBDSs, acute cholangitis, and acute cholecystitis. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to explore risk factors associated with pneumobilia. RESULTS: After propensity matching, there was no significant difference in the rate of single recurrence of CBDSs (22.5% vs 30%; P = .446) between the pneumobilia and nonpneumobilia groups. However, the incidences of multiple recurrences of CBDSs (32.5% vs 12.5%; P = .032) and acute cholangitis without stone recurrence (32.5% vs 2.5%; P = <.001) were significantly higher in the pneumobilia group. Based on multivariate logistic regression analysis, in addition to a dilated CBD (diameter of >1 cm) (odds ratio [OR], 2.48; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.03-3.76; P = .043), endoscopic sphincterotomy with moderate incision (OR, 5.38; 95% CI, 1.14-25.47; P = .034) and with large incision (OR, 8.7; 95% CI, 1.83-41.46; P = .007) were identified as independent risk factors for pneumobilia after initial ERCP. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with post-ERCP pneumobilia have increased risk of multiple recurrences of CBDSs and acute cholangitis without stone recurrence. Independent risk factors for pneumobilia include peripapillary diverticulum, a dilated CBD (>1 cm), and endoscopic sphincterotomy with moderate and large incisions. A normal-sized CBD appears to serve as a secondary barrier against enterobiliary reflux, necessitating further research for confirmation.

RESUMO

Nanoattapulgite (nano-ATP), a magnesium-aluminum silicate clay, can absorb substances and is a suitable material for bone repair and regeneration. In this study, using three-dimensional printing technology, a nano-ATP/polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffold was fabricated and modified using NaOH to form a rough surface. Biomimetic hydroxyapatite (HA) on nano-ATP/PCL scaffolds was fabricated using a biomineralized approach. The scaffold provided structural support through PCL and was modified with ATP and HA to improve hydrophilicity and promote the delivery of nutrients. The biocompatibility and osteogenic induction of scaffolds were assessed in vitro using mouse bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. According to the in vitro study results, the nano-ATP/PCL/HA composite scaffold significantly boosted the expression levels of genes related to osteogenesis (p < 0.05), attributed to its superior alkaline phosphatase activity and calcium deposition capabilities. The outcomes of in vivo experimentation demonstrated an augmentation in bone growth at the rat cranial defect site when treated with the ATP/PCL/HA composite scaffold. It can be inferred from the results that the implementation of ATP and HA for the bone tissue engineering repair material displays encouraging prospects.
