RESUMO

Importance: Synthetic nicotine is increasingly used in e-cigarette liquids along with flavors to appeal to youths. Regulatory loopholes have allowed tobacco manufacturers to use social media to target youths. Objective: To analyze the extent to which synthetic nicotine e-cigarette brands have implemented US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) health warning requirements and to evaluate the association between health warnings and user engagement on Instagram. Design, Setting, and Participants: In this cross-sectional study, posts from 25 brands were analyzed across a 14-month period (August 2021 to October 2022). A content analysis was paired with Warning Label Multi-Layer Image Identification, a computer vision algorithm designed to detect the presence of health warnings and whether the detected health warning complied with FDA guidelines by (1) appearing on the upper portion of the advertisement and (2) occupying at least 20% of the advertisement's area. Data analysis was performed from March to June 2024. Exposure: Synthetic nicotine e-cigarette advertisement on Instagram. Main Outcomes and Measures: The outcome variables were user engagement (number of likes and comments). Negative binomial regression analyses were used to evaluate the association between the presence and characteristics of health warnings and user engagement. Results: Of a total of 2071 posts, only 263 (13%) complied with both FDA health warning requirements. Among 924 posts with health warnings, 732 (79%) displayed warnings in the upper image portion, and 270 (29%) had a warning covering at least 20% of the pixel area. Posts with warnings received fewer comments than posts without warnings (mean [SD], 1.8 [2.5] vs 5.4 [11.7] comments; adjusted incident rate ratio [aIRR], 0.70; 95% CI, 0.57-0.86; P < .001). For posts containing warnings, a larger percentage of the warning label's pixel area was associated with fewer comments (aIRR, 0.96; 95% CI, 0.93-0.99; P = .003). Flavored posts with health warnings placed in the upper image portion received more likes than posts with warnings in the lower portion (mean [SD], 34.6 [35.2] vs 19.9 [19.2] likes; aIRR, 1.48; 95% CI, 1.07-2.06; P = .02). Conclusions and Relevance: In this cross-sectional study of synthetic nicotine brand Instagram accounts, 87% of sampled posts did not adhere to FDA health warning requirements in tobacco promotions. Enforcement of FDA compliant health warnings on social media may reduce youth engagement with tobacco marketing.

RESUMO

The clinical use of interleukin-2 (IL-2) for cancer immunotherapy is limited by severe toxicity. Emerging IL-2 therapies with reduced IL-2 receptor alpha (IL-2Rα) binding aim to mitigate toxicity and regulatory T cell (Treg) expansion but have had limited clinical success. Here, we show that IL-2Rα engagement is critical for the anti-tumor activity of systemic IL-2 therapy. A "non-α" IL-2 mutein induces systemic expansion of CD8+ T cells and natural killer (NK) cells over Tregs but exhibits limited anti-tumor efficacy. We develop a programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1)-targeted, receptor-masked IL-2 immunocytokine, PD1-IL2Ra-IL2, which attenuates systemic IL-2 activity while maintaining the capacity to engage IL-2Rα on PD-1+ T cells. Mice treated with PD1-IL2Ra-IL2 show no systemic toxicities observed with unmasked IL-2 treatment yet achieve robust tumor growth control. Furthermore, PD1-IL2Ra-IL2 can be effectively combined with other T cell-mediated immunotherapies to enhance anti-tumor responses. These findings highlight the therapeutic potential of PD1-IL2Ra-IL2 as a targeted, receptor-masked, and "α-maintained" IL-2 therapy for cancer.

RESUMO

It is challenging to simulate open quantum systems that are connected to a reservoir through multiple channels. For example, vibrations may induce fluctuations in both energy gaps and electronic couplings, which represent two independent channels of system-bath couplings. Systems of this kind are ubiquitous in the processes of excited state radiationless decay. Combined with density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) and matrix product states (MPS) methods, we develop an interaction-picture chain mapping strategy for vibrational reservoirs to simulate the dynamics of these open systems, resulting in time-dependent spatially local system-bath couplings in the chain-mapped Hamiltonian. This transformation causes the entanglement generated by the system-bath interactions to be restricted within a narrow frequency window of vibrational modes, enabling efficient DMRG/MPS dynamical simulations. We demonstrate the utility of this approach by simulating singlet fission dynamics using a generalized spin-boson Hamiltonian with both diagonal and off-diagonal system-bath couplings. This approach generalizes an earlier interaction-picture chain mapping scheme, allowing for efficient and exact simulation of systems with multi-channel system-bath couplings using matrix product states, which may further our understanding of nonlocal exciton-phonon couplings in exciton transport and the non-Condon effect in energy and electron transfer.

RESUMO

As a highly important methylation modification, the 5-methyladenosine (m5C) modification can profoundly affect RNAs by regulating their transcription, structure and stability. With the continuous development of high-throughput technology, differentially expressed circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been increasingly discovered, and circRNAs play unique roles in tumorigenesis and development. However, the regulatory mechanism of the m5C modification of circRNAs has not yet been revealed. In this study, circERI3, which is highly expressed in lung cancer tissue and significantly correlated with the clinical progression of lung cancer, was initially identified through differential expression profiling of circRNAs. A combined m5C microarray analysis revealed that circERI3 contains the m5C modification and that the NSUN4-mediated m5C modification of circERI3 can increase its nuclear export. The important function of circERI3 in promoting lung cancer progression in vitro and in vivo was clarified. Moreover, we elucidated the novel mechanism by which circERI3 targets DNA binding protein 1 (DDB1), regulates its ubiquitination, enhances its stability, and in turn promotes the transcription of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator 1α (PGC-1α) through DDB1 to affect mitochondrial function and energy metabolism, which ultimately promotes the development of lung cancer. This study not only revealed the reasons for the abnormal distribution of circERI3 in lung cancer tissues from the perspective of methylation and clarified the important role of circERI3 in lung cancer progression but also described a novel mechanism by which circERI3 promotes lung cancer development through mitochondrial energy metabolism, providing new insights for the study of circRNAs in lung cancer.

RESUMO

The N7-methylguanosine (m7G) modification and circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been shown to play important roles in the development of lung cancer. However, the m7G modification of circRNAs has not been fully elucidated. This study revealed the presence of the m7G modification in circFAM126A. We propose the novel hypothesis that the methyltransferase TRMT10C mediates the m7G modification of circFAM126A and that the stability of m7G-modified circFAM126A is reduced. circFAM126A is downregulated in lung cancer and significantly inhibits lung cancer growth both in vitro and in vivo. The expression of circFAM126A correlates with the stage of lung cancer and with the tumour diameter, and circFAM126A can be used as a potential molecular target for lung cancer. The molecular mechanism by which circFAM126A increases HSP90 ubiquitination and suppresses AKT1 expression to regulate cellular glycolysis, ultimately inhibiting the progression of lung cancer, is elucidated. This study not only broadens the knowledge regarding the expression and regulatory mode of circRNAs but also provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms that regulate tumour cell metabolism and affect tumour cell fate from an epigenetic perspective. These findings will facilitate the development of new strategies for lung cancer prevention and treatment.

RESUMO

This study examined how message themes, frames, and sources in vaping cessation videos on TikTok influenced positive (i.e. likes, shares, positive comments regarding quitting vaping) and negative video engagement (i.e. negative comments regarding quitting vaping). TikTok videos (N = 412) with the hashtags #quitvaping and #quittingvaping were analyzed. Aspect-based sentiment analysis was conducted to evaluate the sentiment of quitting vaping in comments. Negative binomial regression models predicted video engagement from six message themes, ratios of gain and loss frames, and message sources. Themes related to nicotine addiction and physical health effectively drove positive engagement, such as likes and shares. The theme of harmful chemicals elicited mixed responses, generating both positive and negative comments regarding quitting vaping. Videos with a higher ratio of gain frames led to more positive engagement, including likes, shares, and positive comments regarding quitting vaping. Sources with informal expertise (e.g. those who have successfully quit vaping) and current e-cigarette users were more effective in engaging the TikTok audience than non-expert and non-user sources. These findings provide insights into messaging strategies that can effectively engage TikTok audiences and encourage vaping cessation.

RESUMO

Can a robotic gripper only operate when attached to a robotic arm? The application space of the traditional gripper is limited by the robotic arm. Giving robot grippers the ability to move will expand their range of applications. Inspired by rich behavioral repertoire observed in octopus, we implement an integrated multifunctional soft robotic gripper with 6 independently controlled Arms. It can execute 8 different gripping actions for different objects, such as irregular rigid/soft objects, elongated objects with arbitrary orientation, and plane/curved objects with larger sizes than the grippers. Moreover, the soft gripper can realize omnidirectional crawling and swimming by itself. The soft gripper can perform highly integrated tasks of releasing, crawling, swimming, grasping, and retrieving objects in a confined underwater environment. Experimental results demonstrate that the integrated capabilities of multimodal adaptive grasping and omnidirectional motions enable dexterous manipulations that traditional robotic arms cannot achieve. The soft gripper may apply to highly integrated and labor-intensive tasks in unstructured underwater environments, including ocean litter collecting, capture fishery, and archeological exploration.

RESUMO

German pathologist Otto Aichel suggested, a century ago, that the cancer cell acquired its metastatic property from a leukocyte via cell-cell fusion. Since then, several revised versions of this theory have been proposed. Most of the proposals attribute the generation of the metastatic cancer cell to the fusion between a primary cancer cell and a macrophage. However, these theories have not addressed several issues, such as dormancy and stem cell-like self-renewal, of the metastatic cancer cell. On the other hand, recent studies have found that, like T- and B-/plasma cells, macrophages can also be categorized into naïve, effector, and memory/trained macrophages. As a memory/trained macrophage can enter dormancy/quiescence, be awakened from the dormancy/quiescence by acquainted primers, and re-populate via stem cell-like self-renewal, we, therefore, further specify that the macrophage fusing with the cancer cell and contributing to metastasis, belongs with the memory/trained macrophage, not other subtypes of macrophages. The current theory can explain many puzzling clinical features of cancer, including the paradoxal effects (recurrence vs. regression) of microbes on tumors, "spontaneous" and Coley's toxin-induced tumor regression, anticancer activities of ß-blockers and anti-inflammatory/anti-immune/antibiotic drugs, oncotaxis, surgery- and trauma-promoted metastasis, and impact of microbiota on tumors. Potential therapeutic strategies, such as Coley's toxin-like preparations, are proposed. This is the last article of our trilogy on carcinogenesis theories.

RESUMO

Lung cancer is the primary cause of cancer-related death worldwide, and its global incidence and mortality rates remain high. The differential expression of circular RNAs (circRNAs) can affect the development of cancer, but the mechanisms by which circRNAs regulate lung cancer progression remain unclear. In this study, we identified circSORBS1, a circRNA that has not been previously described in lung cancer and is significantly underexpressed in lung cancer tissues, blood and cell lines, and the low expression of circSORBS1 correlated with tumour grade and prognosis. In vitro and in vivo functional experiments revealed that circSORBS1 overexpression inhibited cell proliferation and migration while enhancing apoptosis. Mechanistically, circSORBS1 acts as a sponge for miR-6779-5p, indirectly inhibiting RUFY3 mRNA degradation. Simultaneously, it binds to RUFY3 mRNA to enhance its stability. This dual regulatory mechanism leads to an increase in RUFY3 protein levels, which ultimately activates the YWHAE/BAD/BCL2 apoptotic signalling pathway and suppresses lung cancer progression. Our findings not only increase the knowledge about the regulatory pattern of circRNA expression but also provide new insights into the mechanisms by which circRNAs regulate lung cancer development.

RESUMO

Ecological well-being performance (EWP), a novel concept in sustainable development research, diverges from traditional ecological efficiency in terms of perspectives, core content, and driving factors. However, research on EWP remains insufficiently comprehensive, particularly the corresponding theoretical and methodological investigations into driving pathways. To address this gap, this study develops an "economy-environment-health" framework, incorporating air pollution and associated health losses into the evaluation system, and employs a two-stage Super-NSBM and Window DEA model for reevaluating EWP. The study further investigates the primary pathways of EWP, focusing on environmental regulations, technological innovation, and structural adjustments through both quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative spatial econometric analysis reveals that factors such as market-driven environmental regulations, green invention patents, and industrial and energy consumption structures significantly enhance EWP. While examining the "net effects" contributions of individual variables using spatial econometric models, the fsQCA method is employed to identify four effective driving paths for EWP from a configurational perspective. These paths are 1) technological innovation and structural adjustment under environmental regulations with public participation; 2) a combination of environmental regulation, technological innovation, and structural adjustment; 3) structural adjustment with minimal influence from environmental regulations and technological innovation; and 4) structural adjustment directed by market-incentive environmental regulations.

RESUMO

Although the issue of embodied pollutants in China's supply chains has garnered increasing attention, the dynamic changes occurring within them are unclear. Several existing studies analyze one-year or short-term data in supply chain. China's overall CH4 emissions have risen from 41.1 Tg in 2000 to 60 Tg in 2020, so conducting long-term analyses can yield a deeper understanding of the dynamic changes across the entire supply chain from production to consumption. This study uses the environmentally extended input-output analysis (EEIOA) and structural path analysis (SPA) methods to investigate the dynamic variation of China's embodied CH4 emissions in 20 industry sectors from 2000 to 2020, aiming to determine the key supply chain and key sectors. The results reveal that from the final demand perspective, consumption, investment and export drove 52.1%, 32%, and 15.9% of embodied CH4 emissions in 2020. The sector with the highest embodied CH4 emissions has changed from "Agriculture" in 2000 to "Construction" in 2010 to "Other service and activities" in 2020. The top listed supply chain path of embodied CH4 emissions has also evolved (starting from production to consumption) from "Agriculture → Rural consumption" in 2000 to "Agriculture → Food and tobacco → Urban consumption" in 2010 to "Agriculture → Urban consumption" in 2020. Notably, the high-ranked path, "Agriculture → Food and tobacco → Rural consumption", shows that the embodied CH4 emission flowing between agriculture and the food industry cannot be ignored. The supply chain path "Coal Mining → Nonmetal Mineral Products → Construction → Capital Formation" has risen from 17th in 2000 to 3rd in 2020. Thus, it is necessary to control CH4 emissions from sectors upstream, which are predominantly influenced by the construction industry, and a coordinated effort between sectors is also required to effectively reduce emissions. By 2020, the CH4 emissions driven by urban consumption were 3.1 times that of rural consumption. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of China's supply chain over the past two decades. In particular, it suggests policy interventions by controlling critical supply chain paths and key sectors associated with embodied CH4 emission, thereby facilitating the coordinated reduction of anthropogenic CH4 emissions.

RESUMO

This systematic review evaluates health messaging strategies for the prevention and cessation of e-cigarette use among youth and young adults. Health messaging strategies were defined as the strategic process of developing messages with the intent to shape, reinforce, or change recipients' health attitudes and behaviors. McGuire's Communication/Persuasion Model guided the analysis of the messaging strategies, focusing on the model's five communication inputs (i.e. source, message, channel, audience, destination) and 14 persuasive outcomes. Nine databases were searched from January 2007 to September 2023. The inclusion criteria encompassed studies in English that presented quantitative data on messaging strategies aimed at discouraging vaping among youth and young adults. Each study was also coded for study characteristics and the utilization of theory. Out of 6,045 studies, 25 met the inclusion criteria. The reviewed studies exhibit a diverse array of research methods and a consistent integration of theories. The review emphasizes the nuanced main and interaction effects of various communication inputs, such as message features and audience characteristics, while also pointing out a research gap in message sources. In addition, the utilization of social media for effective messaging to engage the audience requires further research. Only one study specifically evaluated messaging strategies for vaping cessation. More research is imperative to develop targeted and tailored messages that effectively prevent and reduce vaping, especially among populations at higher risk of vaping-related harms, while also leveraging effective channels and innovative communication technologies to engage the audience.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate whether frequent social media use and liking/following tobacco brand accounts was associated with increased risk of tobacco and polytobacco initiation over approximately 1-year follow-up among youth with no prior tobacco use. METHODS: Associations between measures of social media engagement (daily social media use and liking/following tobacco brands) and tobacco initiation risk were examined using data from Waves 2 and 3 (2014-2015) of the US Population Assessment for Tobacco and Health study. Separate log-binomial models, accounting for missing data via multiple imputation and using propensity score adjustment to address confounding, estimated the adjusted relative risk (aRR) of any tobacco initiation and poly-use (2 + products) initiation at 1-year follow-up. RESULTS: Among the 8,672 youth with no prior tobacco use (49.3% female, mean [SD] age 14.1 [1.7]), 63.5% used social media at least daily, and 3.3% reported liking/following ≥ 1 tobacco brands on social media. Those reporting daily or more frequent social media use (compared to less) were at increased risk for tobacco (aRR 1.67; 95% CI 1.38-2.02) and polytobacco initiation (aRR 1.32; 95% CI 0.98-1.78). Although results were imprecise, liking/following ≥ 1 tobacco brands on social media (versus none) was associated with tobacco (aRR 1.34; 95% CI 0.95-1.89) or polytobacco initiation (aRR 1.60; 95% CI 0.99-2.60). In sensitivity analyses, liking/following cigarette or cigarillo brands was associated with polytobacco initiation. CONCLUSIONS: This study adds to a growing evidence-base describing the exposure of youth to tobacco-related social media content. Such content-often generated by tobacco companies-may contribute to youth tobacco initiation.

RESUMO

Rare earth-doped upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) have achieved a wide range of applications in the sensing field due to their unique anti-Stokes luminescence property, minimized background interference, excellent biocompatibility, and stable physicochemical properties. However, UCNPs-based sensing platforms still face several challenges, including inherent limitations from UCNPs such as low quantum yields and narrow absorption cross-sections, as well as constraints related to energy transfer efficiencies in sensing systems. Therefore, the construction of high-performance UCNPs-based sensing platforms is an important cornerstone for conducting relevant research. This work begins by providing a brief overview of the upconversion luminescence mechanism in UCNPs. Subsequently, it offers a comprehensive summary of the sensors' types, design principles, and optimized design strategies for UCNPs sensing platforms. More cost-effective and promising point-of-care testing applications implemented based on UCNPs sensing systems are also summarized. Finally, this work addresses the future challenges and prospects for UCNPs-based sensing platforms.

RESUMO

The Camellia weevil, Curculio chinensis (Chevrolat, 1978), is a dominant oligophagous pest that bores into the fruit of oil-tea Camellia. Genetic differentiation among populations in various hosts can easily occur, which hinders research on pest management. In this study, the genetic structure, genetic diversity, and phylogenetic structure of local C. chinensis populations were examined using 147 individuals (from 6 localities in Jiangxi), based on 2 mitochondrial COI markers. Results indicated that the C. chinensis population in Jiangxi exhibits a high haplotype diversity, especially for the populations from Cam. meiocarpa plantations. Structural differentiation was observed between Haplogroup 1 (73 individuals from Ganzhou, Jian, and Pingxiang) in the monoculture plantations of Cam. meiocarpa and Haplogroup 2 (75 individuals from Pingxiang and Jiujiang) in Cam. oleifera. Two haplogroups have recently undergone a demographic expansion, and Haplogroup 1 has shown a higher number of effective migrants than Haplogroup 2. This suggests that C. chinensis has been spreading from Cam. meiocarpa plantations to other oil-tea Camellia, such as Cam. oleifera. The increased cultivation of oil-tea Camellia in Jiangxi has contributed to a unique genetic structure within the C. chinensis population. This has, in turn, expanded the distribution of C. chinensis and increased migration between populations.

RESUMO

The mineralization of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in sediments is an important factor leading to the eutrophication of macrophyte-dominated lakes. However, the changes in the molecular characteristics of sediment-derived DOM during microbial degradation in macrophyte-dominated lakes are not well understood. In this study, the microbial degradation process of sediment-derived DOM in Lake Caohai under aerobic and hypoxic conditions was investigated using Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) and metagenomics. The results revealed that the microbial degradation of sediment-derived DOM in macrophyte-dominated lakes was more intense under aerobic conditions. The microorganisms mainly metabolized the protein-like substances in the macrophyte-dominated lakes, and the carbohydrate-active enzyme genes and protein/lipid-like degradation genes played key roles in sediment-derived DOM degradation. Organic compounds with high H/C ratios such as lipids, carbohydrates, and protein/lipid-like compounds were preferentially removed by microorganisms during microbial degradation. Meanwhile, there was an increase in the abundance of organic molecular formula with a high aromaticity such as tannins and unsaturated hydrocarbons with low molecular weight and low double bond equivalent. In addition, aerobic/hypoxic environments can alter microbial metabolic pathways of sediment-derived DOM by affecting the relative abundance of microbial communities (e.g., Gemmatimonadetes and Acidobacteria) and functional genes (e.g., ABC.PE.P1 and ABC.PE.P) in macrophyte-dominated lakes. The abundances of lipids, unsaturated hydrocarbons, and protein compounds in aerobic environments decreased by 58 %, 50 %, and 44 %, respectively, compared to in hypoxic environments under microbial degradation. The results of this study deepen our understanding of DOM biodegradation in macrophyte-dominated lakes under different redox environments and provide new insights into nutrients releases from sediment and continuing eutrophication in macrophyte-dominated lakes.

RESUMO

Residential photovoltaics (PV) presents an effective means of achieving low-carbon development, owing to its installation flexibility and resource-saving properties. To explore the residents' behavioral intentions to purchase and install residential PV systems, this study collected 1424 samples and analyze the impact of different policies on residents' adoption of residential PV using the theory of TPB and the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). The main conclusions are summarized as follows: (1) Bungalow residents exhibit a stronger inclination to install residential PV than building residents. (2) Perceived reward (PR) affects installation intention (II) more than perceived guide (PG) among bungalow residents. (3) Both PR and PG indirectly affect II through Perceived behavioral control (PBC) among bungalow residents. Economic policies, represented by PR, are likely to have more substantial indirect effects than propaganda and guidance policies. The findings suggest that China's recent residential PV installation policies should increase users' trust and guide the future decline of subsidy policy.

RESUMO

Severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) encompasses a range of inherited disorders that lead to a profound deterioration of the immune system. Among the pivotal genes associated with SCID, RAG1 and IL2RG play crucial roles. IL2RG is essential for the development, differentiation, and functioning of T, B, and NK cells, while RAG1 critically contributes to adaptive immunity by facilitating V(D)J recombination during the maturation of lymphocytes. Animal models carrying mutations in these genes exhibit notable deficiencies in their immune systems. Non-human primates (NHPs) are exceptionally well-suited models for biomedical research due to their genetic and physiological similarities to humans. Cytosine base editors (CBEs) serve as powerful tools for precisely and effectively modifying single-base mutations in the genome. Their successful implementation has been demonstrated in human cells, mice, and crop species. This study outlines the creation of an immunodeficient monkey model by deactivating both the IL2RG and RAG1 genes using the CBE4max system. The base-edited monkeys exhibited a severely compromised immune system characterized by lymphopenia, atrophy of lymphoid organs, and a deficiency of mature T cells. Furthermore, these base-edited monkeys were capable of hosting and supporting the growth of human breast cancer cells, leading to tumor formation. In summary, we have successfully developed an immunodeficient monkey model with the ability to foster tumor growth using the CBE4max system. These immunodeficiency monkeys show tremendous potential as valuable tools for advancing biomedical and translational research.

RESUMO

Accumulation of misfolded proteins leads to many neurodegenerative diseases that can be treated by lowering or removing mutant proteins. Huntington's disease (HD) is characterized by the intracellular accumulation of mutant huntingtin (mHTT) that can be soluble and aggregated in the central nervous system and causes neuronal damage and death. Here, an intracellular antibody (intrabody) fragment is generated that can specifically bind mHTT and link to the lysosome for degradation. It is found that delivery of this peptide by either brain injection or intravenous administration can efficiently clear the soluble and aggregated mHTT by activating the lysosomal degradation pathway, resulting in amelioration of gliosis and dyskinesia in HD knock-in (KI-140Q) mice. These findings suggest that the small intrabody peptide linked to lysosomes can effectively lower mutant proteins and provide a new approach for treating neurodegenerative diseases that are caused by the accumulation of mutant proteins.

RESUMO

In order to achieve the "dual carbon goal", the Chinese government is actively encouraging the adoption of household photovoltaic (PV) systems. While there has been considerable research on residents' inclination to install PV, limited attention has been given to understanding how the installation and utilization of PV systems influence pro-environmental behaviors. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the potential impact of pro-environmental behavior resulting from household PV installation on users' green purchasing behavior. Based on the "learning by doing" theory, a survey was conducted with 1249 participants, and the generalized structural equation model was employed as our analytical approach. The findings of this research indicate that the adoption and utilization of household photovoltaic (PV) systems have a positive impact on green consumption. The test results demonstrate that the overall effect coefficient is 0.03, indicating that current PV promotion policies have an indirect impact on green consumption. Moreover, economic incentive policies have a more substantial influence than environmental publicity policies, with total indirect effect coefficients of 0.005 and 0.002, respectively. Based on the findings above, the following recommendations are proposed: (1) It is recommended to maintain stable economic incentives to promote the adoption of household PV systems. (2) Emphasizing the dissemination of knowledge and skills for promoting environmental protection should be prioritized. (3) Efforts should be made to align personal interests and societal interests with low-carbon policies.
