Introduction: Although LncRNA JPX has been linked to a number of malignancies, it is yet unknown how it relates to endometrial carcinoma (EC). Investigating the expression, functional activities, and underlying molecular processes of lncRNA JPX in EC was the goal of this work. Methods: RT-qPCR was used to examine the differences in lncRNA/microRNA (miRNA, miR)/mRNA expression between normal cervical and EC tissues or cells. Cell Counting Kit-8, flow cytometry, and transwell were used to evaluate the association between lncRNA JPX/miR-140-3p/phosphoinositide-3-kinase catalytic subunit α (PIK3CA) in Ishikawa and JEC cell lines. The impact of JPX on the downstream janus kinase (JAK)2/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT)3 signaling pathway was investigated using Western blot analysis. Results: When comparing EC tissues to nearby normal tissues, JPX expression is markedly increased in EC tissues, with greater expression in advanced-stage EC. Furthermore, compared to normal epithelial cells, EC cell lines have higher levels of JPX expression. In Ishikawa and JEC endometrial cancer cell lines, we used siRNA-mediated suppression of JPX to find lower cell viability, increased apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, and reduced migration and invasion. We next verified that miR-140-3p binds to downstream target cells to impede the transcription and translation of PIK3CA, which in turn prevents the growth of Ishikawa and JEC cells. JPX functions as a ceRNA to adsorb miR-140-3p. This procedure required controlling JAK2/STAT3, a downstream signal. Conclusion: JPX enhances the development of Ishikawa and JEC cells and activates downstream JAK2/STAT3 signal transduction via the miR-140-3p/PIK3CA axis, offering a possible therapeutic target for the treatment of EC.

RESUMO

The onset of two synchronous primary malignancies of the female genital tract is uncommon; therefore, the simultaneous occurrence of cervical small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma and ovarian immature teratoma is rare. The present study describes the case of a woman with cervical small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma complicated by ovarian immature teratoma. The clinical manifestations, and the histopathological and immunophenotypic features of the patient are recorded. Furthermore, all PubMed-indexed cases of synchronous primary malignancies in both the cervix and ovary have been briefly summarized.

BACKGROUND: Ensuring universal health coverage and equitable access to health services requires a comprehensive understanding of spatiotemporal heterogeneity in healthcare resources, especially in small areas. The absence of a structured spatiotemporal evaluation framework in existing studies inspired us to propose a conceptual framework encompassing three perspectives: spatiotemporal inequalities, hotspots, and determinants. METHODS: To demonstrate our three-perspective conceptual framework, we employed three state-of-the-art methods and analyzed 10 years' worth of Chinese county-level hospital bed data. First, we depicted spatial inequalities of hospital beds within provinces and their temporal inequalities through the spatial Gini coefficient. Next, we identified different types of spatiotemporal hotspots and coldspots at the county level using the emerging hot spot analysis (Getis-Ord Gi* statistics). Finally, we explored the spatiotemporally heterogeneous impacts of socioeconomic and environmental factors on hospital beds using the Bayesian spatiotemporally varying coefficients (STVC) model and quantified factors' spatiotemporal explainable percentages with the spatiotemporal variance partitioning index (STVPI). RESULTS: Spatial inequalities map revealed significant disparities in hospital beds, with gradual improvements observed in 21 provinces over time. Seven types of hot and cold spots among 24.78% counties highlighted the persistent presence of the regional Matthew effect in both high- and low-level hospital bed counties. Socioeconomic factors contributed 36.85% (95% credible intervals [CIs]: 31.84-42.50%) of county-level hospital beds, while environmental factors accounted for 59.12% (53.80-63.83%). Factors' space-scale variation explained 75.71% (68.94-81.55%), whereas time-scale variation contributed 20.25% (14.14-27.36%). Additionally, six factors (GDP, first industrial output, local general budget revenue, road, river, and slope) were identified as the spatiotemporal determinants, collectively explaining over 84% of the variations. CONCLUSIONS: Three-perspective framework enables global policymakers and stakeholders to identify health services disparities at the micro-level, pinpoint regions needing targeted interventions, and create differentiated strategies aligned with their unique spatiotemporal determinants, significantly aiding in achieving sustainable healthcare development.

Endometrioid adenocarcinoma (EEC) is one of the most common cancers of the female reproductive system. In recent years, much emphasis has been placed on early diagnosis and treatment. PAX2 (Paired box 2) inactivation is reportedly an important biomarker for endometrioid intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN) and EEC. However, the role of PAX2 in EEC carcinogenesis remains unclear. PAX2 expression and associated clinical characteristics were analyzed via The Cancer Genome Atlas, Gene Expression Omnibus, and Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia databases and clinical paired EIN/EEC tissue samples. Bioinformatic analysis was conducted to identify the putative molecular function and mechanism of PAX2. Cell proliferation, colony formation, cell migration, and invasion assays in vitro, and mouse xenograft models were utilized to study the biological functions of PAX2 in vivo. Pyrosequencing and the demethylating drug 5-Aza-dc were used to verify promoter methylation in clinical tissues and cell lines, respectively. The mechanism underlying the regulatory effect of estrogen (E2) and progesterone (P4) on PAX2 expression was investigated by receptor block assay and double luciferase reporter assay. PAX2 expression was found to be significantly downregulated in EIN and EEC tissues, its overexpression inhibited EEC cell malignant behaviors in vivo and in vitro and inhibited the AKT/mTOR signaling pathway. PAX2 inactivation in EEC was related to promoter methylation, and its expression was regulated by E2 and P4 through their receptors via promoter methylation. Our findings elucidated the expression and function of PAX2 in EEC and have provided hitherto undocumented evidence of the underlying molecular mechanisms. PAX2 expression is suppressed by estrogen prompting its methylation through estrogen receptor. Furthermore, PAX2 regulates the AKT/mTOR signaling pathway to influence EEC progression. © 2024 The Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland.

Background: Cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes (CAPS) have been considered autoinflammatory diseases resulting from NLRP3 gene mutations. In recent years, these conditions have been redefined as NLRP3-associated autoinflammatory diseases (NLRP3-AID). Our previous study highlighted a case of a Chinese individual carrying the de novo NLRP3 mutation. Results: A female child carrying a de novo variant (c.1718T>G, p. L573W) in the NLRP3 gene was presented in this work. The patient manifested various symptoms, including recurrent fever, a rash resembling urticaria, arthritis, physical growth retardation, a notable prominence of the forehead, and a flat nose bridge. Additionally, inflammatory markers, like WBC count, PLT count, CRP, ESR, and IL-6 showed elevated levels. Additionally, we observed interstitial pulmonary disease in the patient, which is not frequently mentioned in previous studies. Notably, the proband did not present with any ocular, auditory, or neurological symptoms. After 12 weeks of subcutaneous canakinumab injection, there was a clear improvement in the patient's clinical manifestations and inflammatory markers. Conclusion: Our study contributes to broadening the clinical spectrum of established pathogenic variants of NLRP3 gene, which are related to NLRP3-AID.

Identifying personalized cancer driver genes and further revealing their oncogenic mechanisms is critical for understanding the mechanisms of cell transformation and aiding clinical diagnosis. Almost all existing methods primarily focus on identifying driver genes at the cohort or individual level but fail to further uncover their underlying oncogenic mechanisms. To fill this gap, we present an interpretable framework, PhenoDriver, to identify personalized cancer driver genes, elucidate their roles in cancer development and uncover the association between driver genes and clinical phenotypic alterations. By analyzing 988 breast cancer patients, we demonstrate the outstanding performance of PhenoDriver in identifying breast cancer driver genes at the cohort level compared to other state-of-the-art methods. Otherwise, our PhenoDriver can also effectively identify driver genes with both recurrent and rare mutations in individual patients. We further explore and reveal the oncogenic mechanisms of some known and unknown breast cancer driver genes (e.g. TP53, MAP3K1, HTT, etc.) identified by PhenoDriver, and construct their subnetworks for regulating clinical abnormal phenotypes. Notably, most of our findings are consistent with existing biological knowledge. Based on the personalized driver profiles, we discover two existing and one unreported breast cancer subtypes and uncover their molecular mechanisms. These results intensify our understanding for breast cancer mechanisms, guide therapeutic decisions and assist in the development of targeted anticancer therapies.

In this work, all independent elastic coefficients, piezoelectric coefficients, and internal frictions of a single alpha-quartz crystal are determined at room temperature using our recently proposed partial-electrode electromechanical impedance spectroscopy (PE-EMIS). In PE-EMIS, the rectangular parallelepiped quartz sample with two small partial electrodes fabricated on a corner is self-excited/sensed. The conductance spectrum (equivalent to the acoustic resonance spectrum) measured by an impedance analyzer under a free boundary condition is noiseless, allowing the first 100 eigenmodes ranging from 50 to 310 kHz to be accurately fit. To avoid mode misidentification, the off-plane displacement distributions of the quartz sample under different eigenmodes are determined using a scanned-laser vibrometer. The resonance spectrum measured by a traditional sandwich-like resonant ultrasound spectroscopy (RUS) apparatus is also presented for comparison, and the results show that the clamping force in sandwich-like RUS shifts the sample's resonance frequencies, causing 13% and 75% overestimations for the piezoelectric coefficients e11 and e14, respectively. In comparison with the RUS, our proposed PE-EMIS is more effective and convenient and will be widely used for characterization of piezoelectric crystals.

Introduction: Soil microbial communities are key to functional processes in terrestrial ecosystems, and they serve as an important indicator of grasslands status. However, the responses of soil microbial communities and functional potential to drought stress in semiarid alpine grasslands remain unclear. Methods: Here, a field experiment was conducted under ambient precipitation as a control, -20% and -40% of precipitation to explore the responses of soil microbial diversity, community composition, and predicted functional potential to drought stress in a semiarid alpine grassland located in the northwest of China. Moreover, 16S rRNA gene and ITS sequencing were used to detect bacterial and fungal communities, and the PICRUST and FUNGuild databases were used to predict bacterial and fungal functional groups. Results: Results showed drought stress substantially changes the community diversity of bacteria and fungi, among which the bacteria community is more sensitive to drought stress than fungi, indicating that the diversity or structure of soil bacteria community could serve as an indicator of alpine grasslands status. However, the fungal community still has difficulty maintaining resistance under excessive drought stress. Our paper also highlighted that soil moisture content, plant diversity (Shannon Wiener, Pieiou, and Simpson), and soil organic matter are the main drivers affecting soil bacterial and fungal community composition and predicted functional potential. Notably, the soil microbial functional potential could be predictable through taxonomic community profiles. Conclusion: Our research provides insight for exploring the mechanisms of microbial community composition and functional response to climate change (longer drought) in a semiarid alpine grassland.

Identifying cancer driver genes plays a curial role in the development of precision oncology and cancer therapeutics. Although a plethora of methods have been developed to tackle this problem, the complex cancer mechanisms and intricate interactions between genes still make the identification of cancer driver genes challenging. In this work, we propose a novel machine learning method of heterophilic graph diffusion convolutional networks (called HGDCs) to boost cancer-driver gene identification. Specifically, HGDC first introduces graph diffusion to generate an auxiliary network for capturing the structurally similar nodes in a biomolecular network. Then, HGDC designs an improved message aggregation and propagation scheme to adapt to the heterophilic setting of biomolecular networks, alleviating the problem of driver gene features being smoothed by its neighboring dissimilar genes. Finally, HGDC uses a layer-wise attention classifier to predict the probability of one gene being a cancer driver gene. In the comparison experiments with other existing state-of-the-art methods, our HGDC achieves outstanding performance in identifying cancer driver genes. The experimental results demonstrate that HGDC not only effectively identifies well-known driver genes on different networks but also novel candidate cancer genes. Moreover, HGDC can effectively prioritize cancer driver genes for individual patients. Particularly, HGDC can identify patient-specific additional driver genes, which work together with the well-known driver genes to cooperatively promote tumorigenesis.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The precise grading and characterization of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) has been the focus of pathologists for a long time. This study aimed to explore known strategies for the grading of CINs. METHODS: After routine H&E review, 85 lesions graded CIN 1, 2, or 3 were investigated primarily by HPV RNAscope to detect HR-HPV and LR-HPV, in combination with an HPV-DNA test and P16/Ki67 immunohistochemistry (IHC). Then, the 85 cases were divided into a control group (49 cases) and a test group (36 cases). The former consisted of cases with consistency between morphology, HPV DNA detection and P16/Ki67 IHC. We used them to evaluate HPV RNA distribution patterns in CINs of different grades. The latter were ambiguous cases in which pathologists could not confirm the diagnosis because of inconsistencies between morphology, HPV DNA detection and P16/Ki67 IHC. We reassessed them by comparison to the pattern in the control group. RESULTS: The expression patterns of HPV mRNA signals were different in different CIN lesions. LSIL/CIN1 lesions were mostly expressed in superficial epithelium with diffuse clustered nuclear or cytoplasmic staining; HSIL/CIN2 were characterised by nuclear/cytoplasmic punctate or diffuse cluster nuclear staining in the mid-surface layer, and scattered nuclear/cytoplasmic punctate staining in basal and parabasal cells; whereas HSIL/CIN3 showed full-thickness nucleus/cytoplasmic scattered staining with a punctate pattern. According to the staining pattern, we corrected the diagnosis of 22 cases (22/36, 61.1%). CONCLUSION: Because of its distinct location pattern, HPV RNAscope has obvious advantages over the HPV-DNA test, and combined with P16/Ki67 IHC, it can help pathologists correctly grade CIN. In addition, it can effectively discriminate true CIN from normal or CIN mimic lesions, such as immature squamous metaplasia, atrophy, and inflammatory/reactive changes. Therefore, HPV RNAscope is a valuable auxiliary diagnostic test to avoid the overtreatment and undertreatment of CIN lesions.

BACKGROUND: Increasing studies have reported that gentamicin (GNT) plays an essential role in sepsis; however, its underlying mechanism is still unclear. In this study, we investigated the mechanism of GNT in sepsis. RESULTS: We observed that GNT enhanced survival and alleviated inflammatory injuries of the lungs, liver, kidneys, and intestines in mice with sepsis. Furthermore, regulatory T cells (Tregs) showed enhanced inhibitory function, and pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1ß, TNF-α, and IL-2 and anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 showed decreased and increased peritoneal fluid levels, respectively, after treatment with GNT. GNT showed enhanced phosphorylation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 5 (p-STAT5) in Tregs in vivo and in vitro. The STAT5 inhibitor restrained the increased functional changes of Tregs and reduced inflammatory responses induced by GNT in vitro. Moreover, the STAT5 inhibitor reversed GNT-mediated impacts on survival and inflammation, and the percentage, apoptosis, and phenotypic and functional changes of Tregs in neonatal sepsis. CONCLUSIONS: Our study revealed that GNT regulates the function of Tregs via the STAT5 signaling pathway, alleviating inflammatory injuries, and provides novel evidence in the treatment of neonatal sepsis.

To determine all the material constants of a piezoelectric crystal using the IEEE resonance method or ultrasonic method, several samples with specific geometries and orientations are required, and the obtained results may be somewhat self-contradictory. The resonant ultrasound spectroscopy (RUS) can determine full material constants of a single piezoelectric sample by matching the numerically computed eigenfrequencies to the measured resonance spectrum. However, typically the usage of PZT transducers for excitation and reception makes the testing complicated and may add additional mass and damping. In this work, we propose a new method called partial electrode electromechanical impedance spectroscopy (PE-EMIS), which can obtain all the elastic, piezoelectric constants, and related internal frictions of a piezoelectric crystal by just using a single sample without additional transducers. In PE-EMIS, two small PEs are fabricated on one corner of a piezoelectric sample, and the sample's resonance frequencies, along with the internal frictions of the k th eigenmode, can be accurately obtained from the conductance spectrum measured using an impedance analyzer. The PE-EMIS experiment is carried out on a rectangular parallelepiped PZT-4 piezoelectric ceramic, and the extracted material constants are highly repeatable. Three of the extracted elastic constants ( c11E , c33D , and c66E ) are validated by the traditional wave propagation method. Due to its simplicity, convenience, and accuracy, the proposed PE-EMIS is expected to be widely used for characterization of piezoelectric materials in near future.

Regional public attention has been critical during the COVID-19 pandemic, impacting the effectiveness of sub-national non-pharmaceutical interventions. While studies have focused on public attention at the national level, sub-national public attention has not been well investigated. Understanding sub-national public attention can aid local governments in designing regional scientific guidelines, especially in large countries with substantial spatiotemporal disparities in the spread of infections. Here, we evaluated the online public attention to the COVID-19 pandemic using internet search data and developed a regional public risk perception index (PRPI) that depicts heterogeneous associations between local pandemic risk and public attention across 366 Chinese cities. We used the Bayesian Spatiotemporally Varying Coefficients (STVC) model, a full-map local regression for estimating spatiotemporal heterogeneous relationships of variables, and improved it to the Bayesian Spatiotemporally Interacting Varying Coefficients (STIVC) model to incorporate space-time interaction non-stationarity at spatial or temporal stratified scales. COVID-19 daily cases (median contribution 82.6%) was the most critical factor affecting public attention, followed by urban socioeconomic conditions (16.7%) and daily population mobility (0.7%). After adjusting national and provincial impacts, city-level influence factors accounted for 89.4% and 58.6% in spatiotemporal variations of public attention. Spatiotemporal disparities were substantial among cities and provinces, suggesting that observing national-level public dynamics alone was insufficient. Multi-period PRPI maps revealed clusters and outlier cities with potential public panic and low health literacy. Bayesian STVC series models are systematically proposed and provide a multi-level spatiotemporal heterogeneous analytical framework for understanding collective human responses to major public health emergencies and disasters.

Strain amplitude dependent effects of materials/structures are very important in the field of material science and engineering and have been found to be extremely sensitive to defects or damage. In this work, a nonlinear electromechanical impedance spectroscopy (N-EMIS) technique is proposed to characterize the amplitude dependent internal frictions (ADIFs) and modulus defects (or resonance shift) of materials. First, a new experimental scheme called the on/off parallel resistor capacitor circuit is proposed to measure the N-EMIS of a piezoelectric transducer (PZT)-specimen composite system under high driving levels. Second, based on the N-EMIS, the formulas for calculating the ADIF are derived and validated by vibration measurement using a laser vibrometer. To further enlarge the strain amplitude, a PZT-stepped horn-specimen three-component system is then introduced, with which the maximum strain amplitude can reach 10-3. Finally, ADIF tests are conducted on polycrystalline pure copper and 1045-steel. The results show that at high strain levels, the internal frictions of both materials can reach several times than those at low driving levels, while the modulus drops only slightly. The proposed N-EMIS technique can effectively assess the strain amplitude dependent properties of materials and is expected to be widely used in the near future for evaluation of plasticity, fatigue, and damage.

Introduction: The productivity and community structures of terrestrial ecosystems are regulated by total precipitation amount and intra-annual precipitation patterns, which have been altered by climate change. The timing and sizes of precipitation events are the two key factors of intra-annual precipitation patterns and potentially drive ecosystem function by influencing soil moisture. However, the generalizable patterns of how intra-annual precipitation patterns affect the productivity and community structures of ecosystems remain unclear. Methods: We synthesized 633 observations from 17 studies and conducted a global meta-analysis to investigate the influences of intra-annual precipitation patterns on the productivity and community structures of terrestrial ecosystems. By classifying intra-annual precipitation patterns, we also assess the importance of the magnitude and timing of precipitation events on plant productivity. Results: Our results showed that the intra-annual precipitation patterns decreased diversity by 6.3% but increased belowground net primary productivity, richness, and relative abundance by 16.8%, 10.5%, and 45.0%, respectively. Notably, we found that the timing uniformity of precipitation events was more important for plant productivity, while the plant community structure benefited from the increased precipitation variability. In addition, the relationship between plant productivity and community structure and soil moisture dynamic response was more consistent with the nonlinear model. Comclusions: The patterns of the responses of plant productivity and community structure to altered intra-annual precipitation patterns were revealed, and the importance of the timing uniformity of precipitation events to the functioning of production systems was highlighted, which is essential to enhancing understanding of the structures and functions of ecosystems subjected to altered precipitation patterns and predicting their changes.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study is that analyze the clinical characters of Treacher Collins syndrome (TCS) with the de nove TCOF1 mutation and emphasize the genetic research result. METHODS: Genomic DNA from the proband and his parents were extracted from 200 to 400 µl of peripheral blood samples. A 4000 pathgenic genes diagnostic screening panel developed by our laboratory group was used for gene mutation screening. The panel covered the TCOF1 (NM_001135243.1), POLR1C (NM_203,290) and POLR1D (NM_015,972) genes associating with TCS. RESULTS: We reported a case of typical, complete syndrome with a nonsense mutation c.1622G > A (p.W541*) in exon 11 of TCOF1, who presents bilateral external ears abnormalities, atresia of external auditory canals, antimongoloid slant of the eyes, bilateral partial coloboma of the lateral part of the lower lids, a large and protruding nose, macrostomia, cleft palate and hair displacement anterior to the auricle. CONCLUSIONS: Our report expands the spectrum of known pathogenic TCOF1 variants associated with TCS in humans.TCOF1 deficiency may cause a severe neonatal presentation with birth defects.

Titanium alloys, recognized as a marine material with great potential, are currently facing serious biofouling problems, which greatly limits its application range. To improve the antifouling performance of titanium alloys, three unique surface of three-dimensional network, grass-like and linear nanostructures were obtained on titanium alloys via hydrothermal treatment in this work. Further, slippery liquid-infused porous surfaces (SLIPSs) were fabricated on titanium alloys via infusing PFPE lubricant into these nanostructures. Water contact angles and sliding angles of SLIPSs were measured to evaluate the effect of nanostructures on the stability of PFPE lubricant layer. Anti-fouling capability of SLIPSs were investigated by quantifying the cells of chlorella and phaeodactylum tricornutum (P. tricornutum)adhered to titanium alloys. The results shows that all the SLIPSs exhibited remarkable inhibition capacity for the settlement of chlorella and P. tricornutum. Among them, the SLIPS with three-dimensional network nanostructure displayed the longest-term anti-fouling performance, and its reduction rate of P. tricornutum and chlorella reaching 77.2 % and 84.5 % after being cultivated for 21 days, respectively, indicating that there existed a positive correlation between the stability of lubricant layer in the artificial seawater and the antifouling effect.

In this Note, first, the calculation errors of elastic moduli and internal frictions using the explicit formulas in the traditional and modified piezoelectric ultrasonic composite oscillator technique (PUCOT and M-PUCOT) are comparatively studied when the frequency match condition is not satisfied. Then, new implicit formulas free of frequency match are proposed for the three-component M-PUCOT. Finally, the measurement results on a lead zirconate titanate ferroelectric ceramic from room temperature to 500 °C by using the pervious explicit formulas and the new implicit formulas are compared. The results show that when the frequency mismatch is within 15%, the induced error by using the explicit formulas is less than 0.5% and 2.5% for moduli and internal frictions, respectively. When the frequency mismatch is over 15%, the implicit formulas are suggested to improve the accuracy of M-PUCOT.

OBJECTIVE: To study the expression and function of long non-coding RNA linc00467 in childhood acute myeloid leukemia (AML). METHODS: Bone marrow samples were collected from 5 children with AML who were diagnosed from May 2016 to June 2018. Normal bone marrow samples based on bone marrow examination were collected from 3 children as controls. Quantitative real-time PCR was used to measure the expression of linc00467 in the two groups. A lentivirus system was used to achieve overexpression of linc00467 in AML cells (HL-60) (linc00467 overexpression group), and empty vector expressing green fluorescent protein (GFP) was transfected into AML cells to establish a GFP control group. A lentivirus system was used to insert an interfering sequence into AML cells (sh-linc00467 interfering group), and a random sequence was inserted to establish an sh-NC control group. Cell proliferation and resistance to doxorubicin were observed for all groups. RESULTS: Compared with the normal control group, the children with AML had a significant increase in linc00467 (P=0.018). Overexpression and interference with linc00467 expression had no significant effect on cell proliferation. Compared with the GFP control group, the linc00467 overexpression group had a significant increase in the viability of HL-60 cells at the adriamycin concentrations of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 µg/mL (P<0.05). Compared with the sh-NC control group, the sh-linc00467 interfering group had a significant reduction in the viability of HL-60 cells at the adriamycin concentrations of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 µg/mL (P<0.05). Compared with the untreated group, the adriamycin treatment group had a significant increase in the expression of linc00467 in HL-60 cells (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: This study reveals the biological function of linc00467 to promote the resistance to adriamycin in AML, which provides a basis for developing new therapeutic drugs for AML.

Shear modulus is one of the fundamental mechanical properties of materials, while its quick and accurate measurement is still a challenge. Here we proposed a method for shear modulus measurement based on torsional resonance using a piezoelectric torsional transducer bonded on a cylindrical specimen. Firstly, the torsional transducer was introduced which consists of two thickness poled, thickness shear (d15) piezoelectric half-rings. Secondly, the equivalent circuit of the transducer-cylindrical specimen system is derived and the shear modulus can be explicitly obtained using the torsional resonance frequency. The internal friction can also be obtained, which is calculated by using an approximate formula. Then, shear modulus and internal friction measurement on four materials including 1045 steel, 6061 aluminum, quartz glass and PMMA were conducted. Results indicate that all the measured shear moduli are consistent with the reference values in literatures. The repeatable error in shear modulus measurement is within 0.2%, which is very desirable. Finally, shear modulus measurement scheme under high (or low) temperature is proposed using a frequency-match quartz glass bar as the thermal insulator. Measurement results on the 6061 aluminum indicates that from room temperature to 500 °C, the shear modulus decreases from 26.8 GPa to 16.6GPa. The proposed method is very reliable and quite convenient, which can be widely used in near future.
