Objective: To investigate public awareness about core information regarding chronic diseases and identify factors influencing that awareness among Anhui Province residents, provide a scientific basis for policy-making, and formulate corresponding intervention measures. Methods: From March to April 2021, 12 provincial-level representative counties and districts of Anhui province in the China Adult Chronic Disease and Nutrition Surveillance were selected as survey sites, and 4790 residents were recruited for the survey using stratified multi-stage cluster random sampling. Basic details about the study participants were collected and their awareness of core information about major chronic diseases was measured through an online survey using WeChat. Results: In 2021, the awareness rate of core information about chronic diseases among residents of Anhui Province was 54.93%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that a higher awareness rate was associated with the following factors: non-housework occupations (agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery: OR = 1.309, commercial services and production and transportation: OR = 1.450, institutions, and professional and technical personnel: OR = 1.461), a high education level (high school/junior high school/technical school OR = 1.357, college and above OR = 2.133), and residence in the southern and northern Anhui areas (southern Anhui OR = 1.282, northern Anhui OR = 1.431); whereas in rural areas (by district and country) (OR = 0.863), the awareness rate was low (all P < 0.05). Conclusions: The awareness rate of core information about chronic diseases among residents of Anhui, China, is low. It is necessary to strengthen awareness about chronic disease prevention and management by targeting specific groups of people in this region.

Lactobacillus kefir alcohol dehydrogenase (LkADH) and ketoreductase from Chryseobacterium sp. CA49 (ChKRED12) exhibit different chemoselectivity and stereoselectivity toward a substrate with both keto and aldehyde carbonyl groups. LkADH selectively reduces the keto carbonyl group while retaining the aldehyde carbonyl group, producing optically pure R-alcohols. In contrast, ChKRED12 selectively reduces the aldehyde group and exhibits low reactivity toward ketone carbonyls. This study investigated the structural basis for these differences and the role of specific residues in the active site. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and quantum chemical calculations were used to investigate the interactions between the substrate and the enzymes and the essential cause of this phenomenon. The present study has revealed that LkADH and ChKRED12 exhibit significant differences in the structure of their respective active pockets, which is a crucial determinant of their distinct chemoselectivity toward the same substrate. Moreover, residues N89, N113, and E144 within LkADH as well as Q151 and D190 within ChKRED12 have been identified as key contributors to substrate stabilization within the active pocket through electrostatic interactions and van der Waals forces, followed by hydride transfer utilizing the coenzyme NADPH. Furthermore, the enantioselectivity mechanism of LkADH has been elucidated using quantum chemical methods. Overall, these findings not only provide fundamental insights into the underlying reasons for the observed differences in selectivity but also offer a detailed mechanistic understanding of the catalytic reaction.

Photoelectrochemical water splitting (PEC-WS) has attracted considerable attention owing to its low energy consumption and sustainable nature. Constructing semiconductor heterojunctions with controllable band structure can effectively facilitate photogenerated carrier separation. In this study, a FTO/ZnO/Cu2O/Ag@SiO2 photoanode with a Cu2O/ZnO p-n heterojunction and Ag@SiO2 nanoparticles is constructed to investigate its PEC-WS performance. Compared with a bare ZnO photoanode, the photocurrent density of the FTO/ZnO/Cu2O/Ag@SiO2 photoanode (0.77 mA cm-2) at 1.23 VRHE exhibits an increment of 88%, and a cathodic shift of 0.1 V for the on-set potential (0.4 VRHE). Detailed photoelectrochemical analyses reveal that the Cu2O/ZnO p-n heterojunction formed between Cu2O and ZnO can effectively promote photogenerated carrier separation. The surface plasmonic effect of the Ag@SiO2 nanoparticles can further promote the photogenerated carrier transfer efficiency, which synergistically improves the PEC-WS performance.

The design of a highly and photomodulated proton conductor is important for advanced potential applications in chemical sensors and bioionic functions. In this work, a metal-organic framework (MOF; Gd-NO2) with high proton conductivity is synthesized with a photosensitive ligand of 5-nitroisophthalic acid (BDC-NO2), and it provides remote-control photomodulated proton-conducting behavior. The proton conduction of Gd-NO2 reaches 3.66 × 10-2 S cm-1 at 98% relative humidity (RH) and 25 °C, while it decreases by ∼400 times after irradiation with a 355 nm laser. The newly generated and disappearing FT-IR characteristic peaks reveal that this photomodulated process is realized by the photoinduced transformation from BDC-NO2 to 5-nitroso-isophthalic acid (BDC-NO). According to density functional theory, the smaller electronegativity of the -NO group, the longer distance of the hydrogen bond between BDC-NO and H2O molecules, and the lower water adsorption energy of BDC-NO indicate that the irradiated sample possesses a poorer hydrophilicity and has difficulty forming rich hydrogen-bonded networks, which results in the remarkable decrease of proton conductivity.

Objective: A high-sodium diet is an important risk factor for hypertension in the Chinese population, which can increase the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Although a large number of related studies have been carried out in Anhui province, clear, effective salt reduction interventions and policies that can be widely promoted have not yet been formed. This study sought to understand the prevalence and precise measures of salt reduction behavior, the variables affecting salt reduction behavior, and the reasons why salt reduction behavior was not practiced in Anhui Province, China. Methods: The total number of participants in the study was 3,378. Using a multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method, residents between the ages of 18 and 69 years in 10 counties and districts were selected from March to October 2019. A survey questionnaire and physical measurements were given to each participant. The influencing factors of residents' salt reduction behavior were examined using a multi-factor unconditional logistic regression analysis. The chi-squared (χ2) test was used to analyze the implementation of salt reduction behaviors among different age groups and gender, the factors influencing the implementation of salt reduction measures, and the reasons for not implementing salt reduction measures. Results: A history of hypertension was associated with salt reduction strategies (P = 0.014). Patients with hypertension were more likely to adopt salt reduction behaviors than those without hypertension (OR = 1.218, P = 0.040). The influence of eating out on the adoption of salt-reduction measures varied by age group (χ2 = 50.463, P < 0.001) and gender (χ2 = 81.348, P < 0.001). Conclusion: In summary, residents of the Anhui Province are not very knowledgeable about salt reduction. Age, gender, education level, hypertension, and marital status are the main determinants. Our findings have significant implications for policymakers who want to devise salt reduction strategies.

A rapidly emerging application of network neuroscience in neuroimaging studies has provided useful tools to understand individual differences in intrinsic brain function by mapping spontaneous brain activity, namely intrinsic functional network neuroscience (ifNN). However, the variability of methodologies applied across the ifNN studies-with respect to node definition, edge construction, and graph measurements-makes it difficult to directly compare findings and also challenging for end users to select the optimal strategies for mapping individual differences in brain networks. Here, we aim to provide a benchmark for best ifNN practices by systematically comparing the measurement reliability of individual differences under different ifNN analytical strategies using the test-retest design of the Human Connectome Project. The results uncovered four essential principles to guide ifNN studies: (1) use a whole brain parcellation to define network nodes, including subcortical and cerebellar regions; (2) construct functional networks using spontaneous brain activity in multiple slow bands; and (3) optimize topological economy of networks at individual level; and (4) characterize information flow with specific metrics of integration and segregation. Mapping variability in cortical spontaneous activity (CSA) is an essential goal of understanding various sources of dark brain energy in human neuroscience. CSA was traditionally characterized using resting-state functional MRI (rfMRI) at 1.5T or 3T magnets while recently with 7T-rfMRI. However, the utility and interpretability of 7T-rfMRI must first be established for its variability. By leveraging rfMRI data from the Human Connectome Project (HCP), we derived CSA metrics with 3T-rfMRI and 7T-rfMRI for the same 84 healthy participants (52 females). The 7T-rfMRI produces different CSA metrics at multiple spatial-scales and their variability from the 3T-rfMRI. These differences were spatially dependent and varied according to specific cortical organization. For the amplitude metric, 7T-rfMRI enhanced its spatial contrasts in the anterior cortex but weakened it in the posterior cortex. An opposite pattern was observed for the connectivity metrics. The reliability changes of these metrics were scale dependent, indicating enhanced reliability for connectivity but weakened reliability for amplitude by 7T-rfMRI. These effects were primarily located in the high-order associate cortex, parsing the corresponding changes in individual differences with respect to 7T-rfMRI: (1) higher connectivity variability between participants and the lower connectivity variability within individual participants, and (2) lower amplitude variability between participants and higher amplitude variability within participants. Our work, for the first time, demonstrated the variability of the human CSA across space, rfMRI settings/platforms, and individuals. We discussed the statistical implications of our findings on CSA-based experimental designs and reproducible neuroscience as well as their translational value for personalized applications.

Surface catalyst engineering can effectively improve the photoelectrochemical water splitting (PEC-WS) performance of semiconductor photoelectrodes. In situ surface functional treatments can effectively reduce interface defects and improve photogenerated carrier transport. In this study, FTO/Sn@α-Fe2O3/FeOOH photoanodes were modified with in situ sulfide/nitride/phosphide treatments to improve their PEC-WS performance. Compared with the pure α-Fe2O3 photoanode, the photocurrent densities of FTO/Sn@α-Fe2O3/FeOOH photoanodes after sulfide/nitride/phosphide treatments increased from 0.88 to 3.38 mA cm-2 at 1.23 VRHE. The onset potential showed a cathode shift of 0.1 V. Photoelectrochemical analyses and theoretical calculation demonstrated that the surface engineering by sulfide/nitride/phosphide treatments can significantly reduce surface defects, enhance electrical conductivity and promote photogenerated carrier separation and transfer efficiency by regulating interface charge transfer, binding energy and internal electric field. The formation of an FeSx catalyst and N/P coordination complexes in the sulfide/nitride/phosphide processes on the surface of α-Fe2O3 photoanodes can effectively reduce photogenerated carrier recombination. This work provides experimental and theoretical support for surface structure design and improved photoelectric conversion performance of semiconductor photoelectrode materials.

As one of the most popular photoanode materials, hematite (α-Fe2O3) has obvious advantages in the field of photoelectrochemical water splitting (PEC-WS). However, it is difficult to achieve excellent PEC-WS performance without loading a cocatalyst serving as an electron/hole collector to promote photogenerated carrier separation. In this work, FTO/Sn@α-Fe2O3 photoanodes are modified with ZnCo-ZIF and ZnCoOOH bimetallic catalysts to obtain FTO/Sn@α-Fe2O3/Zn0.5Co0.5-ZIF and FTO/Sn@α-Fe2O3/Zn0.46Co0.54OOH photoanodes. Their photocurrent densities reach 2.6 mA cm-2 and 2.3 mA cm-2 at 1.23 VRHE, respectively. The detailed mechanism studies demonstrate that both ZnCoOOH and ZnCo-ZIF can effectively decrease the transfer resistance, increase the Fe2+/Fe3+ ratio and reduce the charge recombination of the α-Fe2O3 film, which synergistically improves the PEC-WS performance. Compared with ZnCoOOH, the ZnCo-ZIF exhibits better photogenerated carrier transfer efficiency and catalytic performance, which mainly can be attributed to the improved binding energy between the ZnCo-ZIF catalyst and the α-Fe2O3 film. This work provides a simple and feasible strategy for constructing bimetallic catalysts and deepens the understanding of different types of bimetallic catalysts for high-performance PEC-WS systems.

BACKGROUND: Most studies on the association of maternal pregnancy weight with offspring weight trajectory have a short follow-up time. This study aimed to explore the associations of maternal prepregnancy body mass index (BMI) and gestational weight gain (GWG) with childhood weight trajectories in a 7-year birth cohort. METHODS: A total of 946 mother-child pairs (467 boys and 479 girls) from a longitudinal birth cohort in Tianjin City, China, were included in this study, ranging from pregnancy to offspring at 7 years. The outcome variable was defined as overweight or not overweight in offspring at the last round. A group-based trajectory model was applied to identify childhood BMI trajectory groups. RESULTS: Five discrete BMI trajectory groups were identified and characterized as constant underweight (25.2%), constant normal weight (42.8%), and high or increasing trajectory [at risk of overweight (16.9%), progressive overweight (11.0%) and progressive obesity (4.1%)]. Maternal prepregnancy overweight was associated with 1.72 (95% CI 1.14-2.60, P = 0.01) to 4.02 (95% CI 1.94-8.36, P < 0.001) times the risk of all high or increasing trajectory groups, and excessive GWG was related to groups at risk of overweight [relative risk ratio (RRR) 2.09, 95% CI 1.27-3.46, P = 0.004] and progressive obesity (RRR 3.33, 95% CI 1.13-9.79, P = 0.029). Children in all high or increasing trajectory groups were associated with greater overweight risk at the last round [risk ratios (RRs) ranged from 3.54 (95% CI 2.53-4.95, P < 0.001) to 6.18 (95% CI 4.05-9.42, P < 0.001)]. CONCLUSION: Maternal prepregnancy overweight and excessive gestational weight gain were associated with increasing or high-level childhood body mass index trajectories as well as a greater risk of overweight at 7 years.

Peroxidase (POD)-like nanozymes have been found to act as nanoreactors for the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) to resolve drug resistance in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Amplifying cellular oxidative stress is considered to be a drug-free strategy to efficiently induce apoptosis in tumor cells. However, the limited content of intracellular hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) extremely restricts the performance of POD-like nanozymes to amplify cellular oxidative stress. Moreover, additional operational processes combined with exogenous reagents to achieve oxidative stress lead to a dilemma of extra cytotoxicity. Here, an integrated iron-porphyrin-MOF-based nanozyme composite named HA@GOx@PCN-224(Fe) (HGPF) was precisely designed and constructed. Generally, the POD-like nanozyme PCN-224(Fe) was used as a platform to immobilize glucose oxidase (GOx), and further embedded with hyaluronic acid (HA) to enable the targeting ability of tumor cells. When endocytosed by tumor cells, intracellular glucose was oxidized to H2O2 and gluconic acid catalyzed by immobilized GOx of HGPF. Afterwards, inspired by heme analogs, H2O2 was catalyzed by iron-porphyrin active sites of the HGPF nanozyme to generate hydroxyl radicals (˙OH). Under light irradiation, the iron-porphyrin of HGPF acted as a photosensitizer to facilely produce singlet oxygen (1O2). Such a synergistic generation of ROS strikingly amplified oxidative stress and induced severe apoptosis in tumor cells. HGPF was expected to integrate intracellular oxygen sources and overcome the dilemma of limited intracellular H2O2 content. Consequently, HGPF was constructed as an integrated nanoreactor to simultaneously achieve light-enhanced catalytic oxidation cascades, providing a promising strategy for a synergistic amplification of cellular oxidative stress.

Many lines of evidence demonstrate the associations of colorectal cancer (CRC) with intestinal microbial dysbiosis. Recent reports have suggested that maintaining the homeostasis of microbiota and host might be beneficial to CRC patients, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we established a CRC mouse model of microbial dysbiosis and evaluated the effects of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) on CRC progression. Azomethane and dextran sodium sulfate were used to induce CRC and microbial dysbiosis in mice. Intestinal microbes from healthy mice were transferred to CRC mice by enema. The vastly disordered gut microbiota of CRC mice was largely reversed by FMT. Intestinal microbiota from normal mice effectively suppressed cancer progression as assessed by measuring the diameter and number of cancerous foci and significantly prolonged survival of the CRC mice. In the intestine of mice that had received FMT, there were massive infiltration of immune cells, including CD8+ T and CD49b+ NK, which is able to directly kill cancer cells. Moreover, the accumulation of immunosuppressive cells, Foxp3+ Treg cells, seen in the CRC mice was much reduced after FMT. Additionally, FMT regulated the expressions of inflammatory cytokines in CRC mice, including down-regulation of IL1a, IL6, IL12a, IL12b, IL17a, and elevation of IL10. These cytokines were positively correlated with Azospirillum_sp._47_25, Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1, the E. coli complex, Akkermansia, Turicibacter, and negatively correlated with Muribaculum, Anaeroplasma, Candidatus_Arthromitus, and Candidatus Saccharimonas. Furthermore, the repressed expressions of TGFb, STAT3 and elevated expressions of TNFa, IFNg, CXCR4 together promoted the anti-cancer efficacy. Their expressions were positively correlated with Odoribacter, Lachnospiraceae-UCG-006, Desulfovibrio, and negatively correlated with Alloprevotella, Ruminococcaceae UCG-014, Ruminiclostridium, Prevotellaceae UCG-001 and Oscillibacter. Our studies indicate that FMT inhibits the development of CRC by reversing gut microbial disorder, ameliorating excessive intestinal inflammation and cooperating with anti-cancer immune responses.

BACKGROUND: Despite advances in the treatment of sepsis over time, this condition remains both a serious threat and a cause of death among critical patients. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the role of the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathway in the development of septic cardiomyopathy in rats with sepsis. METHOD: A total of 32 Sprague Dawley rats were randomized into a sham operation group and three groups with sepsis, which were tested at one of the following time-points: 3, 6, or 12 h. Each group included eight rats. Sepsis models were created via cecal ligation and puncture procedures. All the study rats had the following cardiac parameters and serum levels measured at either 3, 6, or 12 h after the operation (according to their assigned group): heart rate, left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP), maximum rate of left ventricular pressure rise (+dP/dtmax) and fall (-dP/dtmax), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interleukin 1 beta (IL-1ß), interleukin 6 (IL-6), and cardiac troponin I (cTnI). The myocardium of the left ventricle was collected and subjected to hematoxylin and eosin staining to observe the changes in pathological morphology. The expression of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and NF-κB in the myocardium were detected by western blot analysis. RESULTS: Compared with the sham operation group, the rats in the sepsis subgroups exhibited significantly lower values for all the cardiac parameters measured, including the heart rate (sham operation group = 386.63 ± 18.62 beats per minute [bpm], sepsis 3-h group = 368.38 ± 12.55 bpm, sepsis 6-h group = 341.75 ± 17.05 bpm, sepsis 12-h group = 302.13 ± 21.15 bpm), LVSP (sham operation group = 125.50 ± 11.45 mmHg, sepsis 3-h group = 110.88 ± 7.51 mmHg, sepsis 6-h group = 100.00 ± 15.06 mmHg, sepsis 12-h group = 91.38 ± 14.73 mmHg), +dp/dtmax (sham operation group = 7137.50 ± 276.44 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 3-h group = 5745.00 ± 346.16 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 6-h group = 4360.00 ± 312.04 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 12-h group = 2871.25 ± 443.99 mm Hg/sec), and -dp/dtmax (sham operation group = 6363.75 ± 123.86 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 3-h group = 6018.75 ± 173.49 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 6-h group = 5350.00 ± 337.89 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 12-h group = 4085.00 ± 326.76 mm Hg/sec). They also displayed significantly higher levels of serum cytokines, including TNF-α (sham operation group = 14.72 ± 2.90 pg/mL, sepsis 3-h group = 34.90 ± 4.79 pg/mL, sepsis 6-h group = 24.91 ± 2.57 pg/mL, sepsis 12-h group 22.06 ± 3.11 pg/mL), IL-1ß (sham operation group = 42.25 ± 16.91, 3-h group = 112.25 ± 13.77, sepsis 6-h group = 207.90 ± 22.64, sepsis 12-h group = 157.18 ± 23.06), IL-6 (sham operation group = 39.89 ± 5.74, sepsis 3-h group = 78.27 ± 9.31, sepsis 6-h group = 123.75 ± 13.11, sepsis 12-h group = 93.21 ± 8.96), and cTnI (sham operation group = 0.07 ± 0.03 ng/mL, sepsis 3-h group = 0.18 ± 0.06 ng/mL, sepsis 6-h group = 0.67 ± 0.19 ng/mL, sepsis = 12-h group 1.28 ± 0.10 ng/mL). The rats in the sepsis groups exhibited pathological changes in the myocardium, which deteriorated gradually over time. The animals in all the sepsis groups exhibited significantly higher levels of TLR4 and NF-κB protein expression compared with the sham group. The TLR4 protein expressions were 0.376 in the sham operation group, 0.534 in the sepsis 3-h group, 0.551 in the sepsis 6-h group, and 0.719 in the sepsis 12-h group. The NF-κB protein expressions were 0.299 in the sham operation group, 0.488 in the sepsis 3-h group, 0.516 in the sepsis 6-h group, and 0.636 in the sepsis 12-h group. CONCLUSION: Sepsis can lead to myocardial injury and cardiac dysfunction. This may be related to the activation of the NF-κB intracellular signal transduction pathway and the release of inflammatory factors as a result of lipopolysaccharides acting on TLR4 during the onset of sepsis.

RESUMO

Herein, a Zr-based dual-ligand MOFs with pre-installed Rh complex was employed for NADH regeneration in situ and also used for immobilization of formic acid dehydrogenase (FDH) in order to realize a highly efficient CO2 fixation system. Then, based on the detailed investigations into the photochemical and electrochemical properties, it is demonstrated that the introduction of the photosensitive meso-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl) porphin (TCPP) ligands increased the catalytic active sites and improved photoelectric properties. Furthermore, the electron mediator Rh complex, anchored on the zirconium-based dual-ligand MOFs, enhanced the efficiency of electron transfer efficiency and facilitated the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes. Compared with UiO-66-NH2 , Rh-H2 TCPP-UiO-66-NH2 exhibits an optimized valence band structure and significantly improved photocatalytic activity for NAD+ reduction, resulting the synthesis of formic acid from CO2 increased from 150 µg mL-1 (UiO-66-NH2 ) to 254 µg mL-1 (Rh-H2 TCPP-UiO-66-NH2 ). Moreover, the assembled photocatalyst-enzyme coupled system also allows facile recycling of expensive electron mediator, enzyme, and photocatalyst.

Objective: To investigate the status of glycemic control and analyze its influencing factors in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) in Anhui, China. Methods: 1,715 T2D patients aged 18-75 years old were selected from 4 counties or districts in Anhui Province in 2018, using a convenience sampling method. All patients have undergone a questionnaire survey, physical examination, and a glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) test. According to the 2022 American Diabetes Association criteria, HbA1c was used to evaluate the glycemic control status of patients, and HbA1c < 7.0% was defined as good glycemic control. The influencing factors of glycemic control were analyzed by multivariate unconditional logistic regression. Results: The prevalence of good glycemic control among people with T2D in the Anhui Province was low (22.97%). On univariate analysis, gender, education level, occupation, region, smoking, drinking, waist circumference and disease duration (all P < 0.05) were significantly associated with glycemic control. The factors associated with pool glycemic control were female gender [OR = 0.67, 95%CI (0.52, 0.86), P = 0.001], higher level of education [OR = 0.47, 95%CI (0.27, 0.83), P = 0.001], living in rural areas [OR = 1.77, 95%CI (1.39, 2.26), P < 0.001], central obesity [OR = 1.58, 95%CI (1.19, 2.09), P = 0.001] and longer duration of disease [OR = 2.66, 95%CI (1.91, 3.69), P < 0.001]. Conclusions: The prevalence of good glycemic control in people with T2D in Anhui Province was relatively low, and gender, region, education level, central obesity and course of the disease were influencing factors. The publicity and education on the importance of glycemic control should be further strengthened in T2D patients, and targeted intervention measures should be carried out for risk groups.

Objective: To investigate the detection rate and influencing factors of high-risk population of cardiovascular disease in Anhui province. Methods: From March 2017 to August 2019, the residents aged 35-75 years old were selected using the multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method in 8 counties and districts of Anhui Province, and questionnaire survey, anthropometric measurement, and collection of biological samples were carried out among them. Results: A total of 99,821 residents in Anhui Province were finally investigated, and among them 21,426 residents were detected to be high-risk groups of cardiovascular disease. The detection rate of high-risk groups was 21.46%. According to the high-risk types, the high-risk groups can be clustered. 74.57% of them had only one high-risk type, 22.57% of them had two high-risk types, and 2.86% had three or more high-risk types. The results of Generalized Linear Mixed Model (GLMM) showed that male, age ≥45 years old, not married, occupation as a farmer, annual family income <25,000 yuan, drinking, overweight and obesity, pre-central obesity and central obesity, snoring, feeling fatigued, sleepiness, and self-reported history of diabetes were more likely to be risk factors of cardiovascular disease (all P value < 0.05). Conclusion: The detection rate of high-risk groups of cardiovascular disease in Anhui Province is relatively high. Individualized intervention measures as well as comprehensive prevention and control strategies should be adopted focusing on the distribution characteristics of risk factors of high-risk groups.

Scientific knowledge is an underlying basis for technological innovation in the pharmaceutical industry. Collaboration is the main way to participate in the creation of scientific knowledge for pharmaceutical firms. Will network positions in scientific collaboration affect their technological innovation performance? Moreover, what factors moderate the firms' scientific collaboration network positions and technological innovation link? Using a dataset based on 194 Chinese publicly traded pharmaceutical companies, this paper constructs the dynamic scientific collaboration networks among 1,826 organizations by analyzing 4,092 papers included in CNKI and Web of Science databases. Then we probe the impact and boundaries of positions in the scientific collaboration network of pharmaceutical firms on their technological innovation performance through the negative binomial modeling approach. Our study confirms that degree centrality has an inverted U-shaped impact on pharmaceutical firms' technological innovation performance, while structural holes benefit it. Moreover, this article identifies that the strength of scientific collaboration positively moderates the U-shaped relationship between degree centrality and technological innovation of pharmaceutical firms, the matching of high patent stock and high structural holes can promote their technological innovation performance. The results deepen the present understanding of scientific collaboration in the pharmaceutical industry and offer new insights into the formulation of pharmaceutical firms' scientific collaboration strategies.

Apis cerana in Changbai Mountain is an ecological type of Apis cerana, which is an excellent breeding material with cold-resistant developed by long-term natural selection under the ecological conditions. However, the physiological and molecular mechanisms of Changbai Mountain population under cold stress are still unclear. In this study, the Nanopore sequencing was carried out for the transcriptome of Apis cerana in Changbai Mountain in the coldest period of overwintering, which will provide a reference to the cold-resistant mechanism. We determined 5,941 complete ORF sequences, 1,193 lncRNAs, 619 TFs, 10,866 SSRs and functional annotations of 11,599 new transcripts. Our results showed that the myosin family and the C2H2 zinc finger protein transcription factor family possibly have significant impacts on the response mechanism of cold stress during overwintering. In addition, the cold environment alters genes expression profiles in honeybees via different AS and APA mechanisms. These altered genes in Hippo, Foxo, and MARK pathways help them counter the stress of cold in overwinter period. Our results might provide clues about the response of eastern honeybees to extreme cold, and reflect the possible genetic basis of physiological changes.

Retinoblastoma, also known as ocular cancer, usually affects children under the age of five. The standard of care for managing early-stage retinoblastoma is a combination of vincristine, carboplatin, and etoposide. However, this combination-based modality has limited applications owing to its side and late effects. Moreover, in advanced tumor stages, nearly 50% of patients would suffer a partial or full loss of vision. Therefore, therapies that preserve vision and reduce side effects are urgently required. Here, we focused mainly on the common loss-of-function (LOF) mutation of retinoblastoma gene 1 (RB1) in advanced retinoblastoma and investigated the synthetic lethality between RB1-LOF and Aurora kinase inhibition. We showed that Aurora kinase A inhibition could lead to cell mitotic abnormality and apoptosis, and demonstrated in vivo efficacy in a mouse model xenografted with RB1-deficient retinoblastoma. Our findings provide a promising druggable molecular target and potential clinical strategy for tackling retinoblastoma disease.
