RESUMO

Sugar substitutes, which generally refer to a class of food additives, mostly have vibration frequencies within the terahertz (THz) band. Therefore, THz technology can be used to analyze their molecular properties. To understand the characteristics of sugar substitutes, this study selected mannitol and erythritol as representatives. Firstly, PXRD and Raman techniques were used to determine the crystal structure and purity of mannitol and erythritol. Then, the THz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) system was employed to measure the spectral properties of the two sugar substitutes. Additionally, density functional theory (DFT) was utilized to simulate the crystal configurations of mannitol and erythritol. The experimental results showed good agreement with the simulation results. Finally, microfluidic chip technology was used to measure the THz spectroscopic properties of the two sugar substitutes in solution. A comparison was made between their solid state and aqueous solution state, revealing a strong correlation between the THz spectra of the two sugar substitutes in both states. Additionally, it was found that the THz spectrum of a substance in solution is related to its concentration. This study provides a reference for the analysis of sugar substitutes.

RESUMO

Carbohydrates are pivotal biomolecules in biochemistry; this study employs terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) to investigate the spectral characteristics of trehalose and its hydrate across the 0.1 to 2.2 THz frequency range. Notable differences in spectra between the two compounds were observed. Density Functional Theory (DFT) simulations of the crystal structure were conducted to elucidate this phenomenon. The consistency between experimental results and simulations substantiates the reliability of the experimental findings. Additionally, the spectral characteristics of these carbohydrates in solution were examined using microfluidic chip technology. This approach facilitates a comprehensive comparison of their behaviors in both solid and solution states.

RESUMO

Three undescribed phenols, mandshusica C-E (1-3) and a new lignan, mandshusica F (5), along with six known compounds (4, 6-10) were isolated from the roots and rhizomes of Clematis terniflora var. manshurica (Rupr.) Ohwi. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis as well as NMR and ECD calculations. Moreover, the possible biosynthetic pathways of compounds 1-3 were also discussed. All compounds were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activities in LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells. Compounds 1, 3, 4 significantly reduced the levels of NO and TNF-α, while compounds 2 and 8 significantly inhibited NO production in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells.

RESUMO

Based on the theory of the microwave photonic filter (MPF), to our knowledge, a novel fiber Bragg grating (FBG) wavelength demodulation method based on time-domain detection is proposed. The method uses VNA (vector network analyzer) to measure the S21 parameter of the sensor system, and converts them to the time-domain through inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT), The wavelength demodulation and positioning of FBG can be realized by measuring the amplitude and position of the time-domain peak. In order to improve the number of FBG multiplexes, a method is proposed to eliminate the effect of spectrum overlap by normalization in the case of two FBGs and three FBGs. The experimental results show that the temperature sensitivity is 0.00503 RAC/°C, the positioning resolution of the system is 1.25 cm, and the limit of the wavelength difference between two FBGs allowed by the system is 0.25 nm. This method has the advantages of high demodulation precision, strong multiplexing ability and high precision positioning, and has broad application prospects.

RESUMO

Saccharides are essential organic compounds that perform critical functions in sustaining life processes. As biomolecules, their vibrational frequencies predominantly fall in the terahertz (THz) range, making them amenable to analysis using THz techniques. In this study, L-sorbose and D-melibiose were measured using a THz time-domain spectroscopy system covering a frequency range of 0.1-2.0 THz, and their crystal structures were simulated using density functional theory. The experimental results demonstrated significant agreement with the simulation findings. In addition, the spectral properties of the two saccharides in solution were determined using microfluidic chip technology, thereby facilitating a comparison between the solid and aqueous states. The results demonstrate that the intramolecular and intermolecular interactions of the saccharides were weakened by the presence of water molecules, and the THz absorption spectrum of the same substance solution was found to be correlated with its concentration and temperature.

RESUMO

Salicylic acid is a raw material for preparing aspirin and holds an important position in medical history. Studying the crystallization of these two drugs is of great significance in improving their dissolution rate, bioavailability, and physical stability. Although various techniques have been used for structural characterization, there is still a lack of information on the collective vibrational behavior of aspirin and salicylic acid eutectic compounds. Firstly, two starting materials (salicylic acid and aspirin) were ground in a 1:1 M ratio to prepare eutectic compounds. The eutectic composition was studied using vibrational spectroscopy techniques, such as X-ray powder diffusion (XRPD), terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS), and Raman spectroscopy. Additionally, the structure of the aspirin and salicylic acid eutectic was simulated and optimized using density functional theory. It was found that the eutectic type II was the most consistent with the experiment, and the corresponding vibration modes of each peak were provided. These results offer a unique method for characterizing the structural composition of eutectic crystals, which can be utilized to enhance the physical and chemical properties, as well as the pharmacological activity, of specific drugs at the molecular level.

RESUMO

The nonlinear propagation dynamics of vortex femtosecond laser pulses in optical media is a topic with significant importance in various fields, such as nonlinear optics, micromachining, light bullet generation, vortex air lasing, air waveguide and supercontinuum generation. However, how to distinguish the various regimes of nonlinear propagation of vortex femtosecond pulses remains challenging. This study presents a simple method for distinguishing the regimes of nonlinear propagation of femtosecond pulses in fused silica by evaluating the broadening of the laser spectrum as the input pulse power gradually increases. The linear, self-focusing and mature filamentation regimes for Gaussian and vortex femtosecond pulses in fused silica are distinguished. The critical powers for self-focusing and mature filamentation of both types of laser pulses are obtained. Our work provides a rapid and convenient method for distinguishing different regimes of nonlinear propagation and determining the critical powers for self-focusing and mature filamentation of Gaussian and structured laser pulses in optical media.

RESUMO

Introduction: To improve the mechanization level of rice planting, a new type of direct seeding device for rice was designed. The device's structural properties will be crucial in determining its seeding performance. Structure optimization in the current seed metering device design process focuses on a single or few indexes, resulting in improved individual performance but imbalanced overall performance. Therefore, a structure optimization method of the direct seeding device based on a multi-index orthogonal experiment was proposed in this study. Methods: First, the DEM-MBD coupling method observed the factors and levels that affected the performance overall. Second, a test platform based on the electric drive control model was constructed, and a multi-index orthogonal test was devised. Finally, the structural parameters of the seed metering devices were optimized based on matrix analysis. Results: From the results, the primary and secondary levels of significance of factors were just as follows: hole diameter > hole number > adjustment angle. The following are the optimal parameters found by optimization analysis: the diameter of the hole was 12 mm, the number of holes was 10, and the adjustment angle was 80°. Validation tests were carried out and analyzed based on the optimal structural parameter combination. The qualification rate of seeds per hole, empty hole rate, average seed number, coefficient of variation of seed number, average hole spacing, and the variance coefficient of hole spacing are 93.07%, 0%, 9.39,14.04%, 22.84 cm, and 9.14%, respectively. Discussion: In comparison to traditional design and structural parameter optimization methods for rice precision seed metering device, this study not just to provides an optimization scheme for improving the overall performance of rice precision seed metering device, but also serves as a technical reference for the development and design of new rice precision seed metering device.
