RESUMO

Carbon emissions caused by economic growth are the main cause of global warming, but controlling economic growth to reduce carbon emissions does not meet China's conditions. Therefore, how to synergize economic growth and carbon emission reduction is not only a sustainable development issue for China, but also significant for mitigating global warming. The territorial spatial functional pattern (TSFP) is the spatial carrier for coordinating economic development and carbon emissions, but how to establish the TSFP of synergizing economic growth and carbon emission reduction remains unresolved. We propose a decision framework for optimizing TSFP coupled with the multi-objective fuzzy linear programming and the patch-generating land use simulation model, to provide a new path to synergize economic growth and carbon emission reduction in China. To confirm the reliability, we took Qionglai City as the demonstration. The results found a significant spatiotemporal coupling between TSFP and the synergistic states between economic growth and carbon emission reduction (q ≥ 0.8220), which resolves the theoretical uncertainty about synergizing economic growth and carbon emission reduction through the path of TSFP optimization. The urban space of Qionglai City in 2025 and 2030 obtained by the decision framework was 6497.57 hm2 and 6628.72 hm2 respectively, distributed in the central and eastern regions; the rural space was 60,132.92 hm2 and 56,084.97 hm2, concentrated in the east, with a few located in the west; and the ecological space was 71,072.52 hm2 and 74,998.31 hm2, mainly located in the western and southeastern areas. Compared with the TSFP in 2020, the carbon emission intensity of the TSFP obtained by the decision framework was reduced by 0.7 and 4.7 tons/million yuan, respectively, and realized the synergy between economic growth and carbon emission reduction (decoupling index was 0.25 and 0.21). Further confirming that TSFP optimization is an effective way to synergize economic growth and carbon emission reduction, which can provide policy implications for coordinating economic growth and carbon emissions for China and even similar developing countries.

RESUMO

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a new class of functional solids featuring several fantastic structural characteristics, including a great diversity of building units and cross-linking patterns, precise integration of building blocks, and adjustable topology of porous architecture. In addition to the above features, some COF samples are constructed with high-density conjugated fragments, which have unique potential advantages in fluorescence imaging, and thus may have great potential applications in bioimaging. Herein, this article summarizes the recent progress in the design and preparation of fluorescent covalent organic frameworks. We investigate the systemic correlation between the structural qualities of COF networks and biological sensors. Finally, the significant advantages, major challenges, and future opportunities of fluorescent covalent organic frameworks are discussed for the development of next-generation porous materials for sensing applications.

RESUMO

Controlling the crystallization to achieve high-quality homogeneous perovskite film is the key strategy in developing perovskite electronic devices. Here, an in situ dynamic optical probing technique is demonstrated that can monitor the fast crystallization of perovskites and effectively minimize the influence of laser excitation during the measurement. This study finds that the typical static probing technique would damage and induce phase segregation in the perovskite films during the excitation. These issues can be effectively resolved with the dynamic probing approach. It also found that the crystallization between MAPbI3 and MAPbI2 Br is strikingly different. In particular, MAPbI2 Br suffers from inefficient nucleation during the spin-coating that strongly affects the uniform crystal growth in the annealing process. The commonly used pre-heating process is found at a lower temperature not only can further promote the nucleation but also to complete the crystallization of MAPbI2 Br. The role of further annealing at a higher temperature is to facilitate ion-dissociation on the crystal surface to form a passivation layer to stabilize the MAPbI2 Br lattices. The device performance is strongly correlated with the film formation mechanism derived from the in situ results. This work demonstrates that the in situ technique can provide deep insight into the crystallization mechanism, and help to understand the growth mechanism of perovskites with different compositions and dimensionalities.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to translate and validate the Chinese version of the Diagnostic Instrument for Limb Apraxia-Short Version (DILA-S) classic subtests in Chinese patients after ischemic stroke. METHODS: The DILA-S was translated and adapted for use in Mandarin-speaking Chinese patients. Internal consistency, test-retest reliability, dimensionality, convergent validity, divergent validity, and concurrent validity were tested. RESULTS: A total of 112 ischemic stroke patients were included. The internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha 0.85 ~ 0.92) and test-retest reliability (ICC 0.88 ~ 0.93) were found satisfactory. Exploratory factor analysis obtained two factors for the imitation subtests and the execution scale of the pantomime of tool use. Convergent validity was supported by strong correlations (ρ > 0.7) between the scores of the DILA-S subtests and the LOTCA motor praxis subscale. Divergent validity was acceptable for weak to moderate correlations (ρ ranged from -0.25~ -0.41) between the scores of the DILA-S subtests and the NIHSS. Concurrent validity was supported by strong correlations (ρ > 0.7) between the scores of the DILA-S subtests and the MoCA, as well as strong correlations (ρ > 0.6 < 0.7) between the scores of the DILA-S subtests and the BI. CONCLUSION: The Chinese version of the DILA-S classic subtests demonstrated satisfactory psychometric properties for assessing limb apraxia in Chinese patients after ischemic stroke.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To explore the interrelationships between oral hygiene habits, oral health status and cognitive function in older adults. DESIGN: A cross-sectional study. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS: A total of 371 participants (age 76.79 [7.99] years) were enrolled from June 2020 to November 2021 in an aged care facility. METHODS: Cognitive function was screened using the mini-mental state examination (MMSE) with adjusted cut-off points for age and education. Periodontal status (Biofilm-Gingival Interface index based on periodontal probing depth and bleeding on probing), dental status (plaque, calculus, and caries), and tooth loss were assessed through full-mouth examination. Oral hygiene habits were based on self- or informant-reporting. RESULTS: Poor periodontal status was an associated factor for MCI (OR = 2.89, 95% CI = 1.20-6.95), while multiple tooth loss (OR = 4.90, 95% CI = 1.06 ~ 22.59), brushing teeth less than once a day (OR = 2.88, 95% CI = 1.12 ~ 7.45) and delayed dental visits (OR = 2.45, 95% CI = 1.05 ~ 5.68) were associated factors for cognitive impairment. An indirect effect of brushing teeth ≥2 daily on MMSE score through periodontal status was observed only in older adults without cognitive impairment (Bootstrap-corrected B = 0.17, 95%CI = 0.03 ~ 0.36, SE = 0.08, ß = 0.08). CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS: Adequate toothbrushing might prevent cognitive decline indirectly by improving periodontal health only in older adults without cognitive impairment. Multiple tooth loss, infrequent toothbrushing, and delayed dental visits were associated factors for cognitive impairment. Nursing professionals and health care policymakers should advocate for the improvement of basic oral hygiene in older adults, and provide regular professional oral hygiene care for older adults with cognitive impairment. PATIENT OR PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION: The information on oral health habits of this study was based on an interview with the participants or their caregivers during the study period.

RESUMO

The objective of few-shot fine-grained learning is to identify subclasses within a primary class using a limited number of labeled samples. However, many current methodologies rely on the metric of singular feature, which is either global or local. In fine-grained image classification tasks, where the inter-class distance is small and the intra-class distance is big, relying on a singular similarity measurement can lead to the omission of either inter-class or intra-class information. We delve into inter-class information through global measures and tap into intra-class information via local measures. In this study, we introduce the Feature Fusion Similarity Network (FFSNet). This model employs global measures to accentuate the differences between classes, while utilizing local measures to consolidate intra-class data. Such an approach enables the model to learn features characterized by enlarge inter-class distances and reduce intra-class distances, even with a limited dataset of fine-grained images. Consequently, this greatly enhances the model's generalization capabilities. Our experimental results demonstrated that the proposed paradigm stands its ground against state-of-the-art models across multiple established fine-grained image benchmark datasets.

RESUMO

As an emerging surgical technology, tissue removal systems have been widely used in the treatment of endometrial polyps due to its characteristics of less endometrial damage, shorter learning curve and clearer vision of the operative field. There are few cases in the literature reporting serious complications after endometrial polypectomy using tissue removal systems. As known, septic shock is a rare complication following hysteroscopic polypectomy. Now, we present the case of a 23-year-old woman who developed septic shock after polypectomy with tissue removal system. The patient had a history of recurrent vaginitis for more than half a year. Due to endometrial polyps, she was admitted to our hospital and scheduled to undergo hysteroscopic endometrial polypectomy. Three hours after the endometrial polypectomy using the tissue removal system, the patient had shock symptoms such as increased body temperature, decreased blood pressure and increased heart rate. Then, the patient was successfully treated and discharged after anti-infection and anti-shock treatments. The purpose of this case report is to remind clinicians to consider the possibility of serious infection and comprehensively evaluate the risk of infection before choosing hysteroscopic devices for endometrial polyps, especially for patients who choose the mechanical hysteroscopic tissue removal systems. Furthermore, the mechanical hysteroscopic tissue removal systems should be used with caution in patients with previous recurrent vaginitis.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Accurately predicting nipple-areola complex (NAC) involvement in breast cancer is essential for identifying eligible patients for a nipple-sparing mastectomy. This study was aimed at developing a pre-operative nomogram for NAC involvement in breast cancer using conventional ultrasound (US) and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS). METHODS: All patients with primary breast cancer confirmed by pre-operative biopsy underwent US and CEUS examinations. Post-operative pathology was used as the gold standard in assessing NAC involvement. Lasso regression was used to select the predictors most associated with NAC involvement. A nomogram was constructed to calculate the diagnostic efficacy. The data were internally verified with 500 bootstrapped replications, and a calibration curve was generated to validate the predictive capability. RESULTS: Seventy-six patients with primary breast cancer were included in this study, which included 16 patients (21.1%) with NAC involvement and 60 patients (78.9%) without NAC involvement. Among the 23 features of US and CEUS, Lasso regression selected one US feature and two CEUS features, namely, ductal echo extending from the lesion, ductal enhancement extending to the nipple and focal nipple enhancement. A nomogram was constructed, and the results revealed that the area under the curve, sensitivity, specificity and accuracy were 0.891, 81.3%, 86.7% and 85.5%, respectively. The calibration curve exhibited good consistency between the predicted probability and the actual probability. CONCLUSION: The nomogram developed based on US and CEUS had good performance in predicting NAC involvement in breast cancer before surgery, which may facilitate the selection of suitable patients for NAC preservation with greater oncological safety.

RESUMO

Radiation-induced lung injury (RILI) is one of the common complications of radiotherapy for chest tumors and nuclear radiation accidents. The excessive reactive oxygen species induced by radiation is the main mediator. So far, the effective prevention and treatment for RILI are still lacking. Astaxanthin is a carotenoid that belongs to red natural lutein family and is commonly found in Marine organisms such as shrimp, oysters and salmon. It has been confirmed that astaxanthin has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, therefore we speculated that astaxanthin may be a potential treatment for RILI. First, with a mice model of RILI, the protected effects of astaxanthin were observed. Furthermore, the experiments in vitro were performed by detecting apoptosis. As a result, astaxanthin protects the RILI, inhibits the process of pulmonary fibrosis, and reduces the elevation of inflammatory factors. The experiments in vitro demonstrated that astaxanthin could reduce radiation-induced apoptosis and especially inhibit activation of apoptosis pathway. In conclusion, astaxanthin could protect RILI of mice, which is mediated by inhibiting activation of apoptosis pathway.

RESUMO

The use of coordination complexes within covalent organic frameworks can significantly diversify the structures and properties of this class of materials. Here we combined coordination chemistry and reticular chemistry by preparing frameworks that consist of a ditopic (p-phenylenediamine) and mixed tritopic moieties-an organic ligand and a scandium coordination complex of similar sizes and geometries, both bearing terminal phenylamine groups. Changing the ratio of organic ligand to scandium complex enabled the preparation of a series of crystalline covalent organic frameworks with tunable levels of scandium incorporation. Removal of scandium from the material with the highest metal content subsequently resulted in a 'metal-imprinted' covalent organic framework that exhibits a high affinity and capacity for Sc3+ ions in acidic environments and in the presence of competing metal ions. In particular, the selectivity of this framework for Sc3+ over common impurity ions such as La3+ and Fe3+ surpasses that of existing scandium adsorbents.

RESUMO

Background and objective: The hyperdense middle cerebral artery sign (HMCAS) is observed in a proportion of patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). This sign reflects the presence of an intravascular thrombus rich in red blood cells. Several studies have demonstrated that HMCAS increases the risk of poor outcomes in AIS patients treated with IV thrombolysis or no reperfusion therapy; however, whether HMCAS predicts a poor outcome in patients treated with endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) is less clear. We aimed to evaluate the functional outcome by the modified Rankin scale (mRS) at 90 days and technical challenges in patients with HMCAS undergoing EVT. Methods: We studied 143 consecutive AIS patients with middle cerebral artery M1 segment or internal carotid artery + M1 occlusions who underwent EVT. Results: There were 73 patients (51%) with HMCAS. Patients with HMCAS had a higher frequency of cardioembolic stroke (p = 0.038); otherwise, no other baseline difference was observed. No differences in functional outcomes (mRS) at 90 days (p = 0.698), unfavorable outcomes (mRS > 2) (p = 0.929), frequency of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (p = 0.924), and mortality (mRS-6) (p = 0.736) were observed between patients with and without HMCAS. In patients with HMCAS, EVT procedures were 9 min longer, requiring a higher number of passes (p = 0.073); however, optimal recanalization scores (modified thrombolysis in cerebral infarction: 2b-3) were equally achieved by both groups. Conclusion: Patients with HMCAS treated with EVT do not have a worse outcome at 3 months compared with no-HMCAS patients. Patients with HMCAS required a greater number of thrombus passes and longer procedure times.

RESUMO

Most of the traditional extended Kalman filter algorithms for the co-estimation of SOC and capacity of lithium-ion batteries are designed based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion, which may show superior performance in Gaussian noise scenes. However, due to the complexity of the battery operating environment, it is likely to face non-Gaussian noise (especially outlier noise), at which time the performance of the traditional extended Kalman filter algorithms will be seriously weakened. To solve the above problems, this paper first proposes a double extended Kalman filter algorithm based on weighted multi-innovation and weighted maximum correlation entropy (WMI-WMCC-DEKF) for the co-estimation of battery SOC and capacity. In this paper, the performance of the target algorithm is verified and compared by generating different types of noise from three noise models: weak Gaussian mixture noise, strong Gaussian mixture noise, and outlier noise. The maximum absolute error value (MAE) and root mean square error value (RMSE) of the WMI-WMCC-DEKF algorithm can achieve the highest performance improvement of 69.3 and 84.2% (SOC), 61.3, and 94.2% (capacity), respectively. The experimental results fully prove that the target algorithm has excellent performance against three kinds of noises.

RESUMO

The past few decades have witnessed explosive development in drug delivery systems. However, in vivo delivery suffers from non-specific distribution in non-targeted organs or tissues, which may cause undesired side effects and even genotoxicity. Here, a general strategy that enables tuning the tropism of polymersomes for liver- and spleen-selective delivery is reported. By using a library screening approach, spleen-targeted polymersome PH9-Aln-8020 and liver-targeted polymersome PA9-ZP3-5050 are identified accordingly. Meanwhile, the second near-infrared (NIR-II) fluorescence imaging allows for in vivo dynamic evaluation of their spatial and temporal accumulation in specific tissues. O ur findings indicate that both polymer composition and protein corona on the surface are essential to determine the in vivo fate of polymersomes and tendency for specific organs. Importantly, PH9-Aln-8020 is employed as a systemic nanocarrier to co-deliver the antigen and adjuvant, which remarkably boost splenic immune responses in acute myeloid leukemia, melanoma, and melanoma lung metastasis mouse models. This study may open a new frontier for polymersomes in organ-selective delivery and other biomedical applications.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of different types of physiotherapy interventions in people with Parkinson's disease (PD). DESIGN: Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). METHODS: Five databases (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, CINAHL and Web of Science Core Collection) were searched for relevant RCTs published from database inception to July 14, 2022. Reviewers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and assessed the literature quality according to the Cochrane Collaboration Risk of Bias Tool and PEDro Scale. This meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.4.1 and reported in compliance with the PRISMA statement. RESULTS: Forty-two RCTs with 2,530 participants were included. Across all types of physiotherapy, strength training, mind-body exercise, aerobic exercise, and non-invasive brain stimulation (NiBS) were effective in improving motor symptoms as measured by the (Movement Disorders Society-) Unified PD Scale, whereas balance and gait training (BGT) and acupuncture were not. The pooled results showed that the change in mind-body exercise (MD = -5.36, 95% CI [-7.97 to -2.74], p < .01, I2 = 68%) and NiBS (MD = -4.59, 95% CI [-8.59 to -0.59], p = .02, I2 = 78%) reached clinical threshold, indicating clinically meaningful improvements. Considering the effectiveness of the interventions on motor symptoms, balance, gait and functional mobility, mind-body exercise was recommended the most. CONCLUSIONS: Exercise appears to be a better form of physiotherapy than NiBS and acupuncture for improving motor function. Mind-body exercise showed beneficial effects on motor symptoms, balance, gait and functional mobility in people with PD, and is worthy of being promoted.

RESUMO

Diabetics often prick their fingertips to measure the glucose levels in their blood. However, this traditional method not only causes prolonged pain but also increases the risk of infection. Hence, in this study, a non-invasive flexible glucose biosensor with high sensitivity was fabricated. Specifically, NiCo metal-organic frameworks (NiCo-MOFs) served as the electrode material of a micro-supercapacitor and sensing material of a glucose sensor. The electrochemical tests verified that the prominent sensitivity of the NiCo bimetal product is 1422.2 µA mM-1 cm-2. The micro-supercapacitor based on the as-fabricated NiCo-MOFs showed a high energy density of 11.5 mW h cm-2 at the power density 0.26 mW cm-2. In addition, the as-designed glucose device exhibited an excellent sensitivity of 0.31 µA µM-1. Furthermore, a flexible energy storage and glucose detection system was successfully prepared by further integrating the micro-supercapacitor and glucose sensor. The smart detector could accurately and conveniently measure the glucose concentration in sweat in real-time. Therefore, the wearable real-time sensing device displays feasible application for non-invasive glucose monitoring and health management.

RESUMO

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Panlongqi Tablet is prepared with the ancestral secret recipe provided by Mr. Wang Jiacheng, a famous specialist in orthopedics and traumatology of China. The efficacy and safety of PLQT have been supported by years of clinical practice in the treatment of joint-related conditions. Has remarkable effect for treating rheumatoid arthritis (RA) clinically. However, its mechanism is not entirely clear. AIM OF THE STUDY: We aim to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of PLQT and explore its mechanism in adjuvant-induced arthritis (AA) mice and LPS-induced Human fibroblast-like synovial (HFLS) cells. MATERIALS AND METHODS: To this end, we analyzed the active ingredients in PLQT by HPLC-MS/MS. Furthermore, the anti-RA effect of PLQT was studied through proliferation, apoptosis, foot swelling, cytokine levels, immune organ index, histopathology and related signal pathways in LPS-induced HFLS cells and AA-treated mice. RESULTS: HPLC-MS/MS results showed that PLQT contained a variety of active compounds, such as epicatechin, imperatorin, hydroxysafflor yellow A and so on. PLQT significantly inhibited the abnormal proliferation of HFLS cells induced by LPS, promoted cell apoptosis. In AA-treated mice, PLQT alleviated RA symptoms by alleviating paw swelling, synovial hyperplasia, pannus formation, inflammatory cell infiltration, and inhibiting abnormal immune responses. The results showed that PLQT significantly decreased the expression of inflammatory mediators (IL-1ß, IL-6, IL-17) in vivo and in vitro, which may be related to the regulation of PI3K/Akt, MAPK and JAK/STAT signaling pathways. CONCLUSION: Based on serum pharmacology and in vivo pharmacology studies, PLQT may regulate RA symptoms by regulating inflammatory and immune response-related pathways, which is an effective method for the treatment of RA.

RESUMO

Electrochemical biosensor, as a real-time and rapid detection method, has rarely been explored in marine monitoring. In present work, microbial electrochemical biosensors based on two design strategies: disperse system and integrated microbial electrode, were systematically discussed and their feasibility in marine biotoxicity assessment were investigated. An isolation method was initially investigated to eliminate the potential interference and detect the biological response accurately. The influence of water salinity on the current response was eliminated by adopting the salt-tolerant bacteria Staphylococcus aureus as test microorganism and buffer solution with sufficient ionic strength. The biotoxicity of heavy metal ions and pesticides were sensitively determined. Furthermore, a novel integrated microbial biosensor was designed by immobilizing S. aureus with a redox-active gel that consists of chitosan and poly (diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride) mixture and confined potassium ferricyanide via electrostatic interaction. The IC50 values for Cu2+, Zn2+, Cr2O72- and Ni2+ were 3.01 mg/L, 1.34 mg/L, 7.64 mg/L and 9.41 mg/L, respectively. This work not only verified the feasibility of electrochemical biosensor in marine pollution monitoring, but also compared the pros and cons of two biosensor design strategies, which provide a guidance for the future development and application of marine monitoring devices based on electrochemical method.

RESUMO

Primary lymphoma of the uterine cervix (LUCX) is extremely rare, and its diagnosis is challenging. However, its clinicopathological features have not been well characterized. Thirteen primary LUCX patients were retrospectively studied, and 54 patients from the literature were reviewed. Primary LUCX was identified in 0.22% (13/6000) of patients with uterine cervical malignancies in our institution. The patients' median age was 51 years (range: 22-85 years). All patients had a bulk of neoplasms in the uterine cervix. The median tumour diameter was 6 cm (range: 1.5-10 cm). Approximately 78.0% (39/50) of the patients initially presented with irregular vaginal bleeding or discharge. Moreover, 86.7% (39/45) had Ann Arbor stage I or II. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified, was the most common type, accounting for 85.0% (57/67) of primary LUCX cases. Follicular lymphoma (7.5%, 5/67), extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (4.5%, 3/67), mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), blastoid variant (1.5%, 1/67), and peripheral T-cell lymphoma (1.5%, 1/67) were occasionally observed. Three patients (7.1%, 3/42) with DLBCL, NOS died from the disease during the follow-up period. Their 5-year overall survival (OS) rate was 93.5%. The patient with MCL, blastoid variant in our present cohort died of the disease 33 months after diagnosis. Primary LUCX is an extremely rare condition. The clinical symptoms are non-specific. DLBCL, NOS is the most common histologic type, showing a favourable outcome with accurate diagnosis and timely and optimal treatment.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Conventional wisdom affirmed that diabetes was irreversible, but current research shows that lifestyle interventions may achieve diabetes remission among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Recently, many original studies have examined the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions. However, great heterogeneity in intervention approaches resulted in inconsistent intervention effects. AIMS: The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions for diabetes remission among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. METHODS: PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, Web of Science Core Collection, and Cochrane Library were searched for relevant articles from their inceptions to March 26, 2021. Reference lists and a relevant journal were searched manually as well. Both randomized controlled trials and quasi-experimental studies were included. The quantitative data extracted from the selected studies included diabetes remission rate, weight, and quality of life score. The risk of bias was assessed by the Cochrane and Joanna Briggs Institute's tool. RevMan version 5.3. was used to carry out the meta-analysis. RESULTS: This systematic review included 12 studies involving 3997 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Lifestyle interventions included in the studies were mainly divided into diet-only interventions and diet combined with physical activity interventions. Among them, there were three types of diet: (1) low-energy diet, (2) low carbohydrate diet, and (3) Mediterranean diet. Moderate-intensity aerobic and resistance physical activity, walking, and maintaining habitual physical activity were the three types of physical activity interventions employed in the included studies. The results indicated that lifestyle interventions were effective for achieving diabetes remission, reducing weight, and improving quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. LINKING EVIDENCE TO ACTION: Lifestyle interventions were associated with significant effects on diabetes remission, reducing weight, and improving quality of life. As an important part of lifestyle interventions, diet and physical activity have a significant effect on blood glucose and weight control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is therefore suggested that the contents of lifestyle interventions should focus on diet and physical activity.

RESUMO

Lithium (Li) extraction from brines is a major barrier to the sustainable development of batteries and alloys; however, current separation technology suffers from a trade-off between ion selectivity and permeability. Herein, a crown ether mechanically interlocked 3D porous organic framework (Crown-POF) was prepared as the porous filler of thin-film nanocomposite membranes. Crown-POF with penta-coordinated (four Ocrown atoms and one Ntert-amine atom) adsorption sites enables a special recognition for Li+ ion. Moreover, the four Ntert-amine atoms on each POF branch facilitate the flipping motion of Li+ ion along the skeletal thread, while retaining the specified binding pattern. Accordingly, the crown ether interlocked POF network displays an ultrafast ion transfer rate, over 10 times that of the conventional porous materials. Notably, the nanocomposite membrane gives high speed and selectivity for Li+ ion transport as compared with other porous solid-based mixed-matrix membranes.
