BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: The emerging antidepressant effects of ketamine have inspired tremendous interest in its underlying neurobiological mechanisms, although the involvement of 5-HT in the antidepressant effects of ketamine remains unclear. EXPERIMENTAL APPROACH: The chronic restraint stress procedure was performed to induce depression-like behaviours in mice. OFT, FST, TST, and NSFT tests were used to evaluate the antidepressant-like effects of ketamine. Tph2 knockout or depletion of 5-HT by PCPA and 5,7-DHT were used to manipulate the brain 5-HT system. ELISA and fibre photometry recordings were used to measure extracellular 5-HT levels in the brain. KEY RESULTS: 60 min after injection, ketamine (10 mg·kg-1, i.p.) produced rapid antidepressant-like effects and increased brain 5-HT levels. After 24 h, ketamine significantly reduced immobility time in TST and FST tests and increased brain 5-HT levels, as measured by ELISA and fibre photometry recordings. The sustained (24 h) but not rapid (60 min) antidepressant-like effects of ketamine were abrogated by PCPA and 5,7-DHT, or by Tph2 knockout. Importantly, NBQX (10 mg·kg-1, i.p.), an AMPA receptor antagonist, significantly inhibited the effect of ketamine on brain 5-HT levels and abolished the sustained antidepressant-like effects of ketamine in naïve or CRS-treated mice. CONCLUSION AND IMPLICATIONS: This study confirms the requirement of serotonergic neurotransmission for the sustained antidepressant-like effects of ketamine, which appears to involve AMPA receptors, and provides avenues to search for antidepressant pharmacological targets.

Introduction: Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a common and disabling mental health condition; the currently available treatments for MDD are insufficient to meet clinical needs due to their limited efficacy and slow onset of action. Hypidone hydrochloride (YL-0919) is a sigma-1 receptor agonist and a novel fast-acting antidepressant that is currently under clinical development. Methods: To further understand the fast-acting antidepressant activity of YL-0919, this study focused on the role of 5-HTergic neurons in the dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN) in mice. Using fiber photometry to assess neural activity in vivo and two behavioral assays (tail suspension test and forced swimming test) to evaluate antidepressant-like activity. Results: It was found that 3 or 7 days of YL-0919 treatment significantly activated serotonin (5-HT) neurons in the DRN and had significant antidepressant-like effects on mouse behaviors. Chemogenetic inhibition of 5-HTergic neurons in the DRN significantly blocked the antidepressant-like effect of YL-0919. In addition, YL-0919 treatment significantly increased the 5-HT levels in the prefrontal cortex (PFC). These changes were drastically different from those of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) fluoxetine, which suggested that the antidepressant-like effects of the two compounds were mechanistically different. Conclusion: Together, these results reveal a novel role of 5-HTergic neurons in the DRN in mediating the fast-acting antidepressant-like effects of YL-0919, revealing that these neurons are potential novel targets for the development of fast-acting antidepressants for the clinical management of MDD.

BACKGROUND: Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) can be defined as any report of a patient's health taken directly from the patient. Routine collection of PRO data has been shown to offer potential benefits to patient-doctor communication. Electronic forms of PRO measures (PROMs) could be more beneficial in comparison to traditional PROMs in obtaining PROs from patients. However, it is currently unclear whether the routine collection of electronic PRO data could result in better outcomes for patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). OBJECTIVE: This study aims to explore the perspectives of patients and surgeons on the use of electronic PROMs. Based on prior research, technical skill and experience level of the surgeon, long-term quality of life, patient involvement in decision-making, communication skills of the surgeon, cleanliness of the ward environment, and standards of nursing care are identified to be the most important factors for the patients. METHODS: This is a mixed methods prospective study that will collect both quantitative (survey) and qualitative (interview) data. The study has two components. The first involves the distribution of an electronic presurvey to patients who received elective LC within 48 hours of their surgery (n=80). This survey will explore the perspective of patients regarding the procedure, hospital experience, long-term outcomes, and the perceived value of using PROMs. These patients will then be followed up after 1 year and given another survey. The second component involves the distribution of the same survey and the completion of structured interviews with general surgeons (n=10). The survey will ascertain what PROs from the participants are most useful for the surgeons and the interviews will focus on how the surgeons view routine PRO collection. A convenience sampling approach will be used. Surveys will be distributed through Qualtrics and interviews will be completed on Microsoft Teams. RESULTS: Data collection began on February 14, 2023. As of February 12, 2024, 71 of 80 recruited patients have been given the presurvey. The follow-up with the patients and the general surgeon components of the study have not begun. The expected completion date of this study is in April 2025. CONCLUSIONS: Overall, this study will investigate the potential of electronic PRO collection to offer value for patients and general surgeons. This approach will ensure that patient care is investigated in a multifaceted way, offering patient-centric guidance to surgeons in their approach to care. Laparoscopic surgery is extensively applied in the treatment of hepatobiliary diseases. Hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm (HAP) is a rare complication following hepatic biliary surgery through laparoscopy. The clinical manifestations of HAP are diverse and can be fatal. Given its severity, rapid assessment and management are crucial to ensuring a good prognosis. Here, we report three cases of HAP; two underwent laparoscopic surgery due to cholelithiasis, and another caused by trauma. The first case exhibited a pseudoaneurysm involving the distal portion of the right hepatic artery main trunk. The second patient had a pseudoaneurysm at the bifurcation of the left and right hepatic arteries. The third case involved a patient with a pseudoaneurysm involving a branch of the right hepatic artery. The main clinical manifestations of all three cases were bleeding from the biliary tract (the first two cases showed postoperative bleeding in the T-tube, while the third case exhibited gastrointestinal bleeding). The final diagnosis was obtained through digital subtraction angiography. The three patients underwent successful transcatheter arterial embolization operation and a follow-up revealed they were disease-free and alive. This article aims to highlight a rare complication of laparoscopic hepatobiliary surgery and share our experience in early diagnosis and treatment of HAP.

Dysbiosis of gut microbiota may account for pathobiology in simple fatty liver (SFL), metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), fibrotic progression, and transformation to MASH-associated hepatocellular carcinoma (MASH-HCC). The aim of the present study is to investigate gut dysbiosis in this progression. Fecal microbial rRNA-16S sequencing, absolute quantification, histopathologic, and biochemical tests were performed in mice fed high fat/calorie diet plus high fructose and glucose in drinking water (HFCD-HF/G) or control diet (CD) for 2, 16 weeks, or 14 months. Histopathologic examination verified an early stage of SFL, MASH, fibrotic, or MASH-HCC progression with disturbance of lipid metabolism, liver injury, and impaired gut mucosal barrier as indicated by loss of occludin in ileum mucosa. Gut dysbiosis occurred as early as 2 weeks with reduced α diversity, expansion of Kineothrix, Lactococcus, Akkermansia; and shrinkage in Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus, etc., at a genus level. Dysbiosis was found as early as MAHS initiation, and was much more profound through the MASH-fibrotic and oncogenic progression. Moreover, the expansion of specific species, such as Lactobacillus johnsonii and Kineothrix alysoides, was confirmed by an optimized method for absolute quantification. Dynamic alterations of gut microbiota were characterized in three stages of early SFL, MASH, and its HCC transformation. The findings suggest that the extent of dysbiosis was accompanied with MASH progression and its transformation to HCC, and the shrinking or emerging of specific microbial species may account at least in part for pathologic, metabolic, and immunologic alterations in fibrogenic progression and malignant transition in the liver.

Artificially extracted agricultural phenotype information exhibits high subjectivity and low accuracy, while the utilization of image extraction information is susceptible to interference from haze. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the agricultural image dehazing method used for extracting such information is limited due to unclear texture details and color representation in the images. To address these limitations, we propose AgriGAN (unpaired image dehazing via a cycle-consistent generative adversarial network) for enhancing the dehazing performance in agricultural plant phenotyping. The algorithm incorporates an atmospheric scattering model to improve the discriminator model and employs a whole-detail consistent discrimination approach to enhance discriminator efficiency, thereby accelerating convergence towards Nash equilibrium state within the adversarial network. Finally, by training with network adversarial loss + cycle consistent loss, clear images are obtained after dehazing process. Experimental evaluations and comparative analysis were conducted to assess this algorithm's performance, demonstrating improved accuracy in dehazing agricultural images while preserving detailed texture information and mitigating color deviation issues.

Purpose: The aim of this review was to provide all the pharmacokinetic data for semaglutide in humans concerning its pharmacokinetics after subcutaneously and oral applications in healthy and diseased populations, to provide recommendations for clinical use. Methodology: The PubMed and Embase databases were searched to screen studies associated with the pharmacokinetics of semaglutide. The pharmacokinetic parameters included area under the curve plasma concentrations (AUC), maximal plasma concentration (Cmax), time to Cmax, half-life (t1/2), and clearance. The systematic literature search retrieved 17 articles including data on pharmacokinetic profiles after subcutaneously and oral applications of semaglutide, and at least one of the above pharmacokinetic parameter was reported in all included studies. Results: Semaglutide has a predictable pharmacokinetic profile with a long t1/2 that allows for once-weekly subcutaneous administration. The AUC and Cmax of both oral and subcutaneous semaglutide increased with dose. Food and various dosing conditions including water volume and dosing schedules can affect the oral semaglutide exposure. There are limited drug-drug interactions and no dosing adjustments in patients with upper gastrointestinal disease, renal impairment or hepatic impairment. Body weight may affect semaglutide exposure, but further studies are needed to confirm this. Conclusion: This review encompasses all the pharmacokinetic data for subcutaneous and oral semaglutide in both healthy and diseased participants. The existing pharmacokinetic data can assist in developing and evaluating pharmacokinetic models of semaglutide and will help clinicians predict semaglutide dosages. In addition, it can also help optimize future clinical trials.

2,3-Allenamides are an important class of unsaturated group-substituted carbonyl compounds. A palladium-catalyzed aminocarbonylation of propargyl acetates with amines for the synthesized tri-/tetrasubstituted 2,3-allenamides has been developed. A broad range of tri-/tetrasubstituted 2,3-allenamides have been prepared from propargyl acetates in good to excellent yields. The reaction featured mild reaction conditions and good functional group tolerance. The applicability of this methodology was further highlighted by the late-stage modification of several natural products and pharmaceuticals.

BACKGROUND: Most of the investigations on distinct crystal structures of catalysts are individually focused on the difference of surface functional groups or adsorption properties, but rarely explore the changes of active sites to affect the electrocatalytic performance. Catalysts with diverse crystal structures had been applied to modified electrodes in different electrocatalytic reactions. However, there is currently a lack of an essential understanding for the role of real active sites in catalysts with crystalline structures in electroanalysis, which is crucial for designing highly sensitive sensing interfaces. RESULTS: Herein, cobalt molybdate with divergent crystal structures (α-CoMoO4 and ß-CoMoO4) were synthesized by adjusting the calcination temperature, indicating that α-CoMoO4 (800 °C) (60.00 µA µM-1) had the highest catalytic ability than ß-CoMoO4 (700 °C) (38.68 µA µM-1) and α-CoMoO4 (900 °C) (29.55 µA µM-1) for the catalysis of Pb(II). It was proved that the proportion of Co(II) and Mo(IV) as electron-rich sites in α-CoMoO4 (800 °C) were higher than ß-CoMoO4 (700 °C) and α-CoMoO4 (900 °C), possessing more electrons to participate in the valence cycles of Co(II)/Co(III) and Mo(IV)/Mo(VI) to boost the catalytic reduction of Pb(II). Specifically, Co(II) transferred a part of electrons to Mo(VI), promoting the formation of Mo(IV). Co(II) and Mo(IV), as the electron-rich sites, providing electrons to Pb(II), further accelerating the conversion of Pb(II) into Pb(0). SIGNIFICANCE: In the process of detecting Pb(II), the CoMoO4 structures under different temperatures have distinct content of electron-rich sites Co(II) and Mo(IV). α-CoMoO4 (800 °C), with the highest content are benefited to detect Pb(II). This work is conducive to understanding the effect of the changes of active sites resulting from crystal transformation on the electrocatalytic performance, and provides a way to construct sensitive electrochemical interfaces of distinct active sites.

Porcine circovirus types 2 (PCV2) and 3 (PCV3) are the two most prevalent porcine circoviruses in China, all of which can infect swine herds and cause serious diseases. To detect coinfection with PCV2 and PCV3, primers and probes for duplex PCV2 and PCV3 real-time PCR were designed to target their cap genes based on the constructed plasmids pUC57-PCV2 and pUC57-PCV3. The established duplex PCV2 and PCV3 real-time PCRs were specific to PCV2 and PCV3 and showed no cross-reactions with other porcine viral pathogens. The limit of detection was 5 and 50 copies for the PCV2 and PCV3 plasmids, respectively. The intra- and interassay repeatability had coefficients of variation below 3 %. The established methods were used to analyze clinical samples from Liaoning and Jilin provinces of China. The coinfection rates of PCV2 and PCV3 in pigs extensively fed in Liaoning and Jilin, large-scale farmed pigs in Liaoning and large-scale farmed pigs in Jilin were 15.0 % (6/40), 36.7 % (11/30) and 35.4 % (62/175), respectively. This study established a useful duplex PCV2 and PCV3 real-time PCR method that can be used for the detection of PCV2 and PCV3 in local clinical samples.

Despite the widespread utilization of variable valence metals in electrochemistry, it is still a formidable challenge to enhance the valence conversion efficiency to achieve excellent catalytic activity without introducing heterophase elements. Herein, the in-situ precipitation of Co particles on Co2VO4 not only enhanced the concentration of oxygen vacancies (Ov) but also generated a greater number of low-valence metals, thereby enabling efficient reduction towards Hg(II). The electroanalysis results demonstrate that the sensitivity of Co/Co2VO4 towards Hg(II) was measured at an impressive value of 1987.74 µA µM-1 cm-2, significantly surpassing previously reported results. Further research reveals that Ov acted as the main adsorption site to capture Hg(II). The redox reactions of Co2+/Co3+ and V3+/V4+ played a synergistic role in the reduction of Hg(II), accompanied by the continuous supply of electrons from zero-valent Co to expedite the valence cycle. The Co/Co2VO4/GCE presented remarkable selectivity towards Hg(II), with excellent stability, reproducibility, and anti-interference capability. The electrode also exhibited minimal sensitivity fluctuations towards Hg(II) in real water samples, underscoring its practicality for environmental applications. This study elucidates the mechanism underlying the surface redox reaction of metal oxides facilitated by zero-valent metals, providing us with new strategies for further design of efficient and practical sensors.

Background: Ferroptosis plays a crucial role in the occurrence and development of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury and is regulated by mitogen-activated protein kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2). In China, Naodesheng Pills (NDSP) are prescribed to prevent and treat cerebrosclerosis and stroke. However, the protective effects and mechanism of action of NDSP against cerebral I/R-induced ferroptosis remain unclear. We investigated whether NDSP exerts its protective effects against I/R injury by regulating ferroptosis and aimed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Methods: The efficacy of NDSP was evaluated using a Sprague-Dawley rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion and an in vitro oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) model. Brain injury was assessed using 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC), hematoxylin and eosin staining, Nissl staining, and neurological scoring. Western blotting was performed to determine the expression levels of glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4), divalent metal-ion transporter-1 (DMT1), solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11), and transferrin receptor 1 (TFR1). Iron levels, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial morphology were also evaluated. Network pharmacology was used to assess the associated mechanisms. Results: NDSP (1.08 g/kg) significantly improved cerebral infarct area, cerebral water content, neurological scores, and cerebral tissue damage. Furthermore, NDSP inhibited I/R- and OGD/R-induced ferroptosis, as evidenced by the increased protein expression of GPX4 and SLC7A11, suppression of TFR1 and DMT1, and an overall reduction in oxidative stress and Fe2+ levels. The protective effects of NDSP in vitro were abolished by the GPX4 inhibitor RSL3. Network pharmacology analysis revealed that ERK1/2 was the core target gene and that NDSP reduced the amount of phosphorylated ERK1/2. Conclusion: NDSP exerts its protective effects against I/R by inhibiting cerebral I/R-induced ferroptosis, and this mechanism is associated with the regulation of ferroptosis via the ERK1/2 signaling pathway.

BACKGROUND: Artificial intelligence (AI) that utilizes deep learning (DL) has potential for systemic disease prediction using retinal imaging. The retina's unique features enable non-invasive visualization of the central nervous system and microvascular circulation, aiding early detection and personalized treatment plans for personalized care. This review explores the value of retinal assessment, AI-based retinal biomarkers, and the importance of longitudinal prediction models in personalized care. MAIN TEXT: This narrative review extensively surveys the literature for relevant studies in PubMed and Google Scholar, investigating the application of AI-based retina biomarkers in predicting systemic diseases using retinal fundus photography. The study settings, sample sizes, utilized AI models and corresponding results were extracted and analysed. This review highlights the substantial potential of AI-based retinal biomarkers in predicting neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, and chronic kidney diseases. Notably, DL algorithms have demonstrated effectiveness in identifying retinal image features associated with cognitive decline, dementia, Parkinson's disease, and cardiovascular risk factors. Furthermore, longitudinal prediction models leveraging retinal images have shown potential in continuous disease risk assessment and early detection. AI-based retinal biomarkers are non-invasive, accurate, and efficient for disease forecasting and personalized care. CONCLUSION: AI-based retinal imaging hold promise in transforming primary care and systemic disease management. Together, the retina's unique features and the power of AI enable early detection, risk stratification, and help revolutionizing disease management plans. However, to fully realize the potential of AI in this domain, further research and validation in real-world settings are essential.

BACKGROUND: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a persistent disease of the lung interstitium for which there is no efficacious pharmacological therapy. Protodioscin, a steroidal saponin, possesses diverse pharmacological properties; however, its function in pulmonary fibrosis is yet to be established. Hence, in this investigation, it was attempted to figure out the anti-pulmonary fibrosis influences of protodioscin and its pharmacological properties related to oxidative stress. METHODS: A mouse lung fibrosis model was generated using tracheal injections of bleomycin, followed by intraperitoneal injection of different concentrations of protodioscin, and the levels of oxidative stress and fibrosis were detected in the lungs. Multiple fibroblasts were treated with TGF-ß to induce their transition to myofibroblasts. It was attempted to quantify myofibroblast markers' expression levels and reactive oxygen species levels as well as Nrf2 activation after co-incubation of TGF-ß with fibroblasts and different concentrations of protodioscin. The influence of protodioscin on the expression and phosphorylation of p62, which is associated with Nrf2 activation, were detected, and p62 related genes were predicted by STRING database. The effects of Nrf2 inhibitor or silencing of the Nrf2, p62 and NBR1 genes, respectively, on the activation of Nrf2 by protodioscin were examined. The associations between p62, NBR1, and Keap1 in the activation of Nrf2 by protodioscin was demonstrated using a co-IP assay. Nrf2 inhibitor were used when protodioscin was treated in mice with pulmonary fibrosis and lung tissue fibrosis and oxidative stress levels were detected. RESULTS: In vivo, protodioscin decreased the levels of fibrosis markers and oxidative stress markers and activated Nrf2 in mice with pulmonary fibrosis, and these effects were inhibited by Nrf2 inhibitor. In vitro, protodioscin decreased the levels of myofibroblast markers and oxidative stress markers during myofibroblast transition and promoted Nrf2 downstream gene expression, with reversal of these effects after Nrf2, p62 and NBR1 genes were silenced or Nrf2 inhibitors were used, respectively. Protodioscin promoted the binding of NBR1 to p62 and Keap1, thereby reducing Keap1-Nrf2 binding. CONCLUSION: The NBR1-p62-Nrf2 axis is targeted by protodioscin to reduce oxidative stress and inhibit pulmonary fibrosis.

Hedgehog signaling is activated in response to liver injury, and modulates organogenesis. However, the role of non-canonical hedgehog activation via TGF-ß1/SMAD3 in hepatic carcinogenesis is poorly understood. TGF-ß1/SMAD3-mediated non-canonical activation was found in approximately half of GLI2-positive hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and two new GLI2 isoforms with transactivating activity were identified. Phospho-SMAD3 interacted with active GLI2 isoforms to transactivate downstream genes in modulation of stemness, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, chemo-resistance and metastasis in poorly-differentiated hepatoma cells. Non-canonical activation of hedgehog signaling was confirmed in a transgenic HBV-associated HCC mouse model. Inhibition of TGF-ß/SMAD3 signaling reduced lung metastasis in a mouse in situ hepatic xenograft model. In another cohort of 55 HCC patients, subjects with high GLI2 expression had a shorter disease-free survival than those with low expression. Moreover, co-positivity of GLI2 with SMAD3 was observed in 87.5% of relapsed HCC patients with high GLI2 expression, indicating an increased risk of post-resection recurrence of HCC. The findings underscore that suppressing the non-canonical hedgehog signaling pathway may confer a potential strategy in the treatment of HCC.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Liver regeneration retardation post partial hepatectomy (PH) is a common clinical problem after liver transplantation. Identification of key regulators in liver regeneration post PH may be beneficial for clinically improving the prognosis of patients after liver transplantation. This study aimed to clarify the function of junctional protein-associated with coronary artery disease (JCAD) in liver regeneration post PH and to reveal the underlying mechanisms. METHODS: JCAD knockout (JCAD-KO), liver-specific JCAD-KO (Jcad△Hep) mice and their control group were subjected to 70% PH. RNA sequencing was conducted to unravel the related signalling pathways. Primary hepatocytes from KO mice were treated with epidermal growth factor (EGF) to evaluate DNA replication. Fluorescent ubiquitination-based cell cycle indicator (FUCCI) live-imaging system was used to visualise the phases of cell cycle. RESULTS: Both global and liver-specific JCAD deficiency postponed liver regeneration after PH as indicated by reduced gene expression of cell cycle transition and DNA replication. Prolonged retention in G1 phase and failure to transition over the cell cycle checkpoint in JCAD-KO cell line was indicated by a FUCCI live-imaging system as well as pharmacologic blockage. JCAD replenishment by adenovirus reversed the impaired DNA synthesis in JCAD-KO primary hepatocyte in exposure to EGF, which was abrogated by a Yes-associated protein (YAP) inhibitor, verteporfin. Mechanistically, JCAD competed with large tumour suppressor 2 (LATS2) for WWC1 interaction, leading to LATS2 inhibition and thereafter YAP activation, and enhanced expression of cell cycle-associated genes. CONCLUSION: JCAD deficiency led to delayed regeneration after PH as a result of blockage in cell cycle progression through the Hippo-YAP signalling pathway. These findings uncovered novel functions of JCAD and suggested a potential strategy for improving graft growth and function post liver transplantation. KEY POINTS: JCAD deficiency leads to an impaired liver growth after PH due to cell division blockage. JCAD competes with LATS2 for WWC1 interaction, resulting in LATS2 inhibition, YAP activation and enhanced expression of cell cycle-associated genes. Delineation of JCADHippoYAP signalling pathway would facilitate to improve prognosis of acute liver failure and graft growth in living-donor liver transplantation.

BACKGROUND: We report a low-birth-weight child (1.8 kg) with neonatal type III congenital esophageal atresia (CEA) combined with symptomatic patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). After comprehensive evaluation, esophageal anastomosis was performed on postnatal day 11 after excluding surgical contraindications, and arterial catheter ligation was performed at the same time. Concurrent surgery for CEA combined with PDA has not been clearly reported in the literature. CASE SUMMARY: We report a 6-day-old female child with type III CEA and PDA. The patient presented with foam at the mouth after birth, cough and shortness of breath after feeding. At another hospital, she was considered to have neonatal pneumonia, neonatal jaundice and congenital heart disease and transferred to our hospital. After iodine oil radiography of the esophagus and echocardiography we confirmed diagnosis of CEA and PDA. The diameter of the PDA was 8 mm, with obvious left to right shunting. We performed right rear extrapleural orificium fistula ligation and esophageal anastomosis, and ligation of PDA via left axilla straight incision after 5 d of hospitalization. The operations were successful, and the incision healed after 12 d, and the patient was discharged. We re-examined the patient 1 mo after surgery. She did not vomit when she ate rice flour. Esophageal angiography showed no stricture of the anastomotic stoma. The patient weighed 3.2 kg. CONCLUSION: For CEA patients with multiple risk factors, comprehensive, timely and accurate diagnosis and evaluation, and early treatment may improve prognosis.
