RESUMO

The present study examined the association between help-seeking public stigma and help-seeking self-stigma (i.e., internalization of stigma) and the relative association of both types of stigma with help-seeking attitude and intention using a full-information meta-analytic structural equation modeling approach. We also investigated the moderating effect of gender, age, collectivism, and social group in the internalization process. Results from 115 independent samples containing data from 54,793 individuals showed that public stigma of help-seeking was strongly and positively associated with self-stigma of help-seeking. Moreover, after controlling for the effect of each other, self-stigma, but not public stigma, remained significantly associated with help-seeking attitude and help-seeking intention. Gender, age, collectivism, and social group did not significantly moderate the association between public and self-stigma. The findings highlight that people who perceive more stigma of help-seeking from others tend to have higher levels of self-stigma. Compared with help-seeking public stigma, help-seeking self-stigma might have a larger impact on one's help-seeking attitude and intention. Help-seeking promotion campaigns should be devised to tackle both types of stigma to foster positive help-seeking attitude and intention. RESUMO

The thermocatalytic conversion of hexose into valuable chemicals such as methyl lactate under mild conditions is very appealing. Here, we report that Mo, Mg co-modified Sn-ß catalyst can effectively catalyze the transformation of glucose and fructose into alkyl lactate at moderate temperatures. A maximum yield of around 35% of methyl lactate was achieved from the conversion of glucose in methanol at 100°C over Sn-ß catalyst modified with 3 wt% Mo and 0.5 wt% Mg. However, up to 82.8% yield of ethyl lactate was obtained in the case of fructose in ethanol upon the same catalytic condition, suggesting a significant solvent effect. The Mo species plays a key role to enable the retro-aldol condensation of fructose, in which the competing side reactions are significantly suppressed with the assistance of neighboring Mg species probably through a synergetic effect of Lewis acid-base.

RESUMO

ABSTRACT: Drawing upon data from the China Labor-force Dynamics Survey (CLDS) of 2012 and 2014, this paper uses the panel binary choice model to examine the determinants of the settlement intentions of rural-urban migrants. Results showed that both a sense of belonging and social identity play important roles in determining rural-urban migrants' settlement decisions. Besides these, wage, education, and health also affect the willingness of migrant workers to settle in a given area. Therefore, to promote urbanization, policy-makers should pay attention to the subjective demands of rural-urban migrants. We suggested that decision- and policy-makers help such migrants improve their social networks and eliminate identity discrimination, so as to encourage their willingness to settle in cities.
