RESUMO

Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd) is widely regarded as a versatile pseudo-cereal native to the Andes Mountains in South America. It has gained global recognition as a superfood due to its rich nutritional profile. While quinoa grains are well-known, there is an undiscovered potential in quinoa greens, such as sprouts, leaves, and microgreens. These verdant parts of quinoa are rich in a diverse array of essential nutrients and bioactive compounds, including proteins, amino acids, bioactive proteins, peptides, polyphenols, and flavonoids. They have powerful antioxidant properties, combat cancer, and help prevent diabetes. Quinoa greens offer comparable or even superior benefits when compared to other sprouts and leafy greens, yet they have not gained widespread recognition. Limited research exists on the nutritional composition and biological activities of quinoa greens, underscoring the necessity for thorough systematic reviews in this field. This review paper aims to highlight the nutritional value, bioactivity, and health potential of quinoa greens, as well as explore their possibilities within the food sector. The goal is to generate interest within the research community and promote further exploration and wider utilization of quinoa greens in diets. This focus may lead to new opportunities for enhancing health and well-being through innovative dietary approaches.

Hydrogel presents a three-dimensional polymer network with high water content. Over the past decade, hydrogel has developed from static material to intelligent material with controllable response. Various stimuli are involved in the formation of hydrogel network, among which photo-stimulation has attracted wide attention due to the advantages of controllable conditions, which has a good application prospect in the treatment of ophthalmic diseases. This paper reviews the application of photo-crosslink hydrogels in ophthalmology, focusing on the types of photo-crosslink hydrogels and their applications in ophthalmology, including drug delivery, tissue engineering and 3D printing. In addition, the limitations and future prospects of photo-crosslink hydrogels are also provided.

Due to their maximum atomic use of metal sites, single-atom catalysts (SACs) exhibit excellent catalytic activity in a variety of reactions. Although many techniques have been reported for the production of SACs, the construction of single atoms through a convenient strategy is still challenging. Here, we provide a facile method to prepare nickel SACs by utilizing the inherent confined space between the template and silica walls in template-occupied mesoporous silica KIT-6 (TOK). After the introduction of nickel-containing precursors into the inherent confined space of the TOK by solid-phase grinding, Ni SACs can be produced promptly during calcination. Single Ni atoms create a covalent Ni-O-Si structure in the TOK, as indicated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations and experimental data. This synthetic approach is easy to scale up, and 10 g of sample can be effortlessly synthesized using ball milling. The resultant Ni SACs were applied to the oxygen evolution reaction and exhibited higher catalytic activity and stability than the comparative sample synthesized in the absence of confined space.

This study aimed to analyze the trends and themes in exercise and sarcopenia research using a bibliometric approach. The Web of Science citation database was used to identify papers published on exercise and sarcopenia. The retrieved data on institutions, journals, countries, authors, journal distribution, and keywords were analyzed scientometric ally using CiteSpace and VOSviewer. 2895 papers were included according to our specified inclusion criteria eventually. The data showed an upward trend in the number of published articles on exercise and sarcopenia. The countries with the highest number of publications were the United States, Japan, and England; research institutions were mainly composed of universities in Europe and the United States, and high-producing authors formed major collaborative teams, but cross-geographical and cross-institutional collaboration was not apparent; research was closely focused on 3 aspects: resistance exercise, resistance combined with other forms of exercise, and exercise combined with nutritional supplementation, of which resistance exercise was a particular focus; and recently, the research hotspots were mainly the effects of exercise on grip strength. The most cited articles were consensus guidelines published by the working group on sarcopenia in the elderly from different continents. The prevention and rehabilitation of sarcopenia in the elderly are gaining attention. Current primary exercise therapies for sarcopenia and exercise combined with nutritional supplementation have significant advantages and the potential to delay muscle decay. This suggests a promising area for future research that could benefit from further advances.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been widely employed in tumor treatment due to its effectiveness. However, the tumor hypoxic microenvironment which is caused by abnormal vasculature severely limits the efficacy of PDT. Furthermore, the abnormal vasculature has been implicated in the failure of immunotherapy. In this study, a novel nanoparticle denoted as Combo-NP is introduced, composed of a biodegradable NIR II fluorescent pseudo-conjugate polymer featuring disulfide bonds within its main chain, designated as TPA-BD, and the vascular inhibitor Lenvatinib. Combo-NP exhibits dual functionality by not only inducing cytotoxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) to directly eliminate tumor cells but also eliciting immunogenic cell death (ICD). This ICD response, in turn, initiates a robust cascade of immune reactions, thereby augmenting the generation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). In addition, Combo-NP addresses the issue of tumor hypoxia by normalizing the tumor vasculature. This normalization process enhances the efficacy of PDT while concurrently fostering increased CTLs infiltration within the tumor microenvironment. These synergistic effects synergize to potentiate the photodynamic-immunotherapeutic properties of the nanoparticles. Furthermore, when combined with anti-programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), they showcase notable inhibitory effects on tumor metastasis. The findings in this study introduce an innovative nanomedicine strategy aimed at triggering systemic anti-tumor immune responses for the treatment of Uveal melanoma.

Buckwheat green leaves are commonly consumed as functional tea materials due to their various beneficial effects. Although buckwheat green leaves have abundant soluble dietary fibers (SDFs), the information about their structural properties and functional properties remains unknown, largely hindering their applications as functional/health products. Hence, to enhance the usage and application of SDFs from buckwheat green leaves as value-added health products, the structures and biological activities of SDFs derived from different buckwheat green leaves were investigated and compared. Results revealed that SDFs derived from Tartary buckwheat green leaves (TBSDF) and common buckwheat green leaves (CBSDF) were rich in complex pectic-polysaccharides, mainly composing of homogalacturonan (HG) and rhamnogalacturonan I (RG I) pectic domains. Besides, TBSDF had higher proportion of RG I pectic domains than that of CBSDF. Furthermore, the existence of a high content of complex pectic-polysaccharides in TBSDF and CBSDF could contribute to their various biological activities, such as antioxidant, antiglycation, fat/bile acid binding, anticancer, and prebiotic effects. These results can provide some new insights into further development of buckwheat green leaves and related SDFs as value-added health products.

Elucidating the mechanisms by which immune cells become dysfunctional in tumors is critical to developing next-generation immunotherapies. We profiled proteomes of cancer tissue as well as monocyte/macrophages, CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, and NK cells isolated from tumors, liver, and blood of 48 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. We found that tumor macrophages induce the sphingosine-1-phospate-degrading enzyme SGPL1, which dampened their inflammatory phenotype and anti-tumor function in vivo. We further discovered that the signaling scaffold protein AFAP1L2, typically only found in activated NK cells, is also upregulated in chronically stimulated CD8+ T cells in tumors. Ablation of AFAP1L2 in CD8+ T cells increased their viability upon repeated stimulation and enhanced their anti-tumor activity synergistically with PD-L1 blockade in mouse models. Our data reveal new targets for immunotherapy and provide a resource on immune cell proteomes in liver cancer.

BACKGROUND: Currently, more and more older people are inevitably facing the final stages of life and their need for end-of-life care is becoming more prominent. It is therefore important to understand in advance what older people expect from their approaching end-of-life care and attention. We conducted a meta-analysis to explore the influence of advance care planning (ACP) on end-of-life decision-making among older adults living in community settings and their family members. METHODS: We searched databases including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science through 10 August 2022, to locate randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that investigated the effects of ACP on the end-of-life decision-making of community-dwelling elderly individuals and their family members. Studies we obtained from the databases were screened based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. The software Stata 15.0 was used for combining and analyzing data. RESULTS: A total of 8 RCTs were eligible for meta-analysis. They involved 1,292 community-dwelling elderly people. The meta-analysis results revealed the incidence of the following items among participants after the intervention of the ACP: cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) [rate =26%, 95% confidence interval (CI): 11-41%], life-sustaining treatment (rate =12%, 95% CI: 6-18%), gastric gavage (rate =34%, 95% CI: 18-50%), mechanical ventilation (rate =34%, 95% CI: 14-54%), death at home (rate =7%, 95% CI: 3-12%), and death in hospital (rate =6%, 95% CI: 3-10%). The systematic review protocol was prespecified and registered in the international prospective register of systematic reviews (PROSPERO; CRD42022348900). CONCLUSIONS: According to current research, ACP is a promising treatment that can improve the end of life of elderly people living in the community and their families. However, considering the heterogeneity of the included studies, multi-center RCTs with high quality and larger sample sizes need to be conducted to confirm our conclusions.

Soluble dietary fibers (SDFs) exist as the major bioactive components in legumes, which exhibit various biological functions. To improve the potential applications of legume SDFs as healthy value-added products in the functional food industry, the physicochemical properties and biological functions of SDFs from ten selected traditional legumes, including mung bean, adzuki bean, red bean, red sword bean, black bean, red kidney bean, speckled kidney bean, common bean, white hyacinth bean, and pea, were studied and compared. Results showed that the physicochemical properties of SDFs varied in different species of legumes. All legume SDFs almost consisted of complex polysaccharides, which were rich in pectic-polysaccharides, e.g., homogalacturonan (HG) and rhamnogalacturonan I (RG I) domains. In addition, hemicelluloses, such as arabinoxylan, xyloglucan, and galactomannan, existed in almost all legume SDFs, and a large number of galactomannans existed in SDFs from black beans. Furthermore, all legume SDFs exhibited potential antioxidant, antiglycation, immunostimulatory, and prebiotic effects, and their biological functions differed relative to their chemical structures. The findings can help reveal the physicochemical and biological properties of different legume SDFs, which can also provide some insights into the further development of legume SDFs as functional food ingredients.

In the working-age population worldwide, diabetic retinopathy (DR), a prevalent complication of diabetes, is the main cause of vision impairment. Chronic low-grade inflammation plays an essential role in DR development. Recently, concerning the pathogenesis of DR, the Nod-Like Receptor Family Pyrin Domain Containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome in retinal cells has been determined as a causal factor. In the diabetic eye, the NLRP3 inflammasome is activated by several pathways (such as ROS and ATP). The activation of NPRP3 leads to the secretion of inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1ß (IL-1ß) and interleukin-18 (IL-18), and leads to pyroptosis, a rapid inflammatory form of lytic programmed cell death (PCD). Cells that undergo pyroptosis swell and rapture, releasing more inflammatory factors and accelerating DR progression. This review focuses on the mechanisms that activate NLRP3 inflammasome and pyroptosis leading to DR. The present research highlighted some inhibitors of NLRP3/pyroptosis pathways and novel therapeutic measures concerning DR treatment.

Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum Garetn.), a dicotyledonous herbaceous crop, has good adaptation to low nitrogen (LN) condition. The plasticity of roots drives the adaption of Tartary buckwheat under LN, but the detailed mechanism behind the response of TB roots to LN remains unclear. In this study, the molecular mechanism of two Tartary buckwheat genotypes' roots with contrasting sensitivity in response to LN was investigated by integrating physiological, transcriptome and whole-genome re-sequencing analysis. LN improved primary and lateral root growth of LN-sensitive genotype, whereas the roots of LN-insensitive genotype showed no response to LN. 2, 661 LN-responsive differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified by transcriptome analysis. Of these genes, 17 N transport and assimilation-related and 29 hormone biosynthesis and signaling genes showed response to LN, and they may play important role in Tartary buckwheat root development under LN. The flavonoid biosynthetic genes' expression was improved by LN, and their transcriptional regulations mediated by MYB and bHLH were analyzed. 78 transcription factors, 124 small secreted peptides and 38 receptor-like protein kinases encoding genes involved in LN response. 438 genes were differentially expressed between LN-sensitive and LN-insensitive genotypes by comparing their transcriptome, including 176 LN-responsive DEGs. Furthermore, nine key LN-responsive genes with sequence variation were identified, including FtNRT2.4, FtNPF2.6 and FtMYB1R1. This paper provided useful information on the response and adaptation of Tartary buckwheat root to LN, and the candidate genes for breeding Tartary buckwheat with high N use efficiency were identified.

Background: To provide reliable evidence to exercise rehabilitation therapists and clinicians, we compared and analyzed the effects of different exercise modalities on cardiopulmonary function in hemodialysis patients using Bayesian network meta-analysis. Methods: PubMed, OVID, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, Scopus, CINAHL, SPORT Discus, SinoMed, CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP were searched from inception to July 20, 2022. We included randomized controlled trials comparing 12 exercise modalities to improve cardiorespiratory fitness in hemodialysis patients. All statistical analysis was performed using STATA and R. Result: A total of 82 randomized controlled trials involving 4146 maintenance hemodialysis patients were included in this study. The pair-wise meta-analysis showed that all exercise modalities had a positive effect on all indicators of cardiorespiratory capacity. The network meta-analysis demonstrated that Blood flow restriction training (BFRT), Cycle exercise (CE), Inspiratory muscle training (IMT), Combined aerobic and resistance training (CT), and Aerobic training (AT) were significantly better than usual care for 6-min walkability; Medium intensity continuous training (MICT), CT, CE, and AT were considerably better than usual care for VO2Peak; body and mind training (MBT) and CT significantly improved SBP compared to usual care; and only MBT was significantly better than usual care for DBP. Both the two-dimensional plot and the radar plot demonstrated that CT had the best combined-effect on each index of cardiorespiratory fitness. Subgroup and sensitivity analyses demonstrated the robustness of the results. The evidence was mainly "low" to "very low" for this network meta-analysis. Conclusion: There is no one exercise that can achieve the best effect on all of the outcomes. The benefits of MBT in decreasing arterial blood pressure are unsurpassed by other exercise methods. The intervention effect of the CT is better and more stable. Electrical muscle stimulation training (MEST) can be employed in individuals who do not wish to exercise actively but may cause an increase in blood pressure. On the basis of the characteristics of different exercise types, guidelines developers, clinicians, and patients may employ them appropriately. BACKGROUND: Avian influenza A H7N9 emerged in 2013, threatening public health and causing acute respiratory distress syndrome, and even death, in the human population. However, the underlying mechanism by which H7N9 virus causes human infection remains elusive. METHODS: Herein, we infected A549 cells with H7N9 virus for different times and assessed tripartite motif-containing protein 46 (TRIM46) expression. To determine the role of TRIM46 in H7N9 infection, we applied lentivirus-based TRIM46 short hairpin RNA sequences and overexpression plasmids to explore virus replication, and changes in type I interferons and interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) phosphorylation levels in response to silencing and overexpression of TRIM46. Finally, we used Co-immunoprecipitation and ubiquitination assays to examine the mechanism by which TRIM46 mediated the activity of TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1). RESULTS: Type I interferons play an important role in defending virus infection. Here, we found that TRIM46 levels were significantly increased during H7N9 virus infection. Furthermore, TRIM46 knockdown inhibited H7N9 virus replication compared to that in the control group, while the production of type I interferons increased. Meanwhile, overexpression of TRIM46 promoted H7N9 virus replication and decrease the production of type I interferons. In addition, the level of phosphorylated IRF3, an important interferon regulatory factor, was increased in TRIM46-silenced cells, but decreased in TRIM46 overexpressing cells. Mechanistically, we observed that TRIM46 could interact with TBK1 to induce its K48-linked ubiquitination, which promoted H7N9 virus infection. CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that TRIM46 negatively regulates the human innate immune response against H7N9 virus infection.

Objective: The objective of this study is to explore the application of a very important person (VIP) intervention mode in patients with advanced tumors in the western region of China. Methods: One hundred and sixty-three patients were randomly divided into a control and experimental groups. The control group received routine care, and the experimental group received VIP future care. The willingness to end-of-life treatment, decision-making certainty, and quality of life were compared between the two groups before intervention (T0), after intervention (T1), and 1 month after intervention (T2). Results: There were no significant differences in the basic data of the two groups. Unlike the control group, the experimental group preferred palliative care at the end of T1 (P < 0.05), and the acceptance rate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mechanical treatment decreased significantly. After the VIP intervention, the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) (P < 0.05). After 1 month of intervention (T2), the results showed that the overall quality of life, physical discomfort, negative emotions, care and support, survival predicament, and lifetime value of the patients were significantly higher than those before the intervention (all P < 0.05). Decision certainty results showed that the differences between the T0, T1, and T2 time points and the interaction between groups and time were statistically significant, and the interaction was more significant at T2 (P < 0.05). Conclusion: VIP future care can change patients' wishes for end-of-life care, improve patients' and quality of life, and increase patient decision-making certainty.

The leaf of sweet tea (Lithocarpus litseifolius) is widely used as an edible and medicinal plant in China, which is rich in bioactive polysaccharides. In order to explore and promote the application of sweet tea polysaccharides in the functional food industry, the microwave-assisted deep eutectic solvent extraction (MDAE) of polysaccharides from sweet tea leaves was optimized, and the structural properties and biological functions of sweet tea polysaccharides prepared by MDAE (P-DM) were investigated and compared with that of hot water extraction (P-W). The maximum yield (4.16% ± 0.09%, w/w) of P-DM was obtained under the optimal extraction conditions (extraction time of 11.0 min, extraction power of 576.0 W, water content in deep eutectic solvent of 21.0%, and liquid-solid ratio of 29.0 mL/g). Additionally, P-DM and P-W possessed similar constituent monosaccharides and glycosidic bonds, and the homogalacturonan (HG) and arabinogalactan (AG) might exist in both P-DM and P-W. Notably, the lower molecular weight, higher content of total uronic acids, and higher content of conjugated polyphenols were observed in P-DW compared to P-W, which might contribute to its much stronger in vitro antioxidant, anti-diabetic, antiglycation, and prebiotic effects. Besides, both P-DW and P-W exhibited remarkable in vitro immunostimulatory effects. The findings from the present study indicate that the MDAE has good potential to be used for efficient extraction of bioactive polysaccharides from sweet tea leaves and P-DM can be developed as functional food ingredients in the food industry.

A new type of biochar, called GBC, was prepared from silkworm excrement, and then modified by chitosan combined with pyromellitic dianhydride. The removal of mono-metal and polymetals (Pb, Cd and Cu) from an aqueous solution by GBC was investigated in this research. Compared to unmodified biochar, the removal rate of Pb and Cd by GBC was about 12% higher, while that of Cu was about 94.6% higher. It also shows the types of functional groups in biochar have a great impact on their adsorption. The removal of Pb is mainly involved in the N-C=O functional group, the removal of Cd is mainly involved in N-containing functional group and C=C bond, and that of Cu is mainly involved in N-containing functional group, carboxyl group, hydroxyl group, and a carbonyl group. Five adsorption-desorption cycles of GBC were carried out, and it was found that the adsorption capacities of GBC for Pb, Cd and Cu decreased by 7.28%, 10.78% and 6.07%, respectively, indicating that GBC had a good renewable performance. The adsorption capacity of GBC for Cu in different water samples is between 89.62 and 93.47 mg·g-1, indicating that GBC has great application potential for the removal of Cu in wastewater.

ABSTRACT: The association between high-dose or low-dose sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors and various cardiovascular and respiratory serious adverse events (SAE) is unclear. Our meta-analysis aimed to define the association between high-dose or low-dose SGLT2 inhibitors and 86 kinds of cardiovascular SAE and 58 kinds of respiratory SAE. We included large cardiorenal outcome trials of SGLT2 inhibitors. Meta-analysis was conducted and stratified by the dose of SGLT2 inhibitors (high dose or low dose) to synthesize risk ratio (RR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). We included 9 trials. Compared with placebo, SGLT2 inhibitors used at high dose or low dose were associated with the decreased risks of 6 kinds of cardiovascular SAE [eg, bradycardia (RR, 0.60; 95% CI, 0.41-0.89), atrial fibrillation (RR, 0.79; 95% CI, 0.69-0.92), and hypertensive emergency (RR, 0.34; 95% CI, 0.15-0.78)] and 6 kinds of respiratory SAE [eg, asthma (RR, 0.59; 95% CI, 0.37-0.93), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (RR 0.77, 95% CI 0.62-0.96), and sleep apnea syndrome (RR 0.37, 95% CI 0.17-0.81)]. SGLT2 inhibitors used at high dose or low dose did not show significant associations with 132 other cardiopulmonary SAE. For any outcome of interest, the subgroup difference according to the dose of SGLT2 inhibitors was not significant (Psubgroup > 0.05). SGLT2 inhibitors used at whether high dose or low dose are associated with the decreased risks of 12 cardiopulmonary disorders (eg, bradycardia, atrial fibrillation, hypertensive emergency, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and sleep apnea syndrome). These findings may suggest the potential efficacy of high- or low-dose SGLT2 inhibitors for the prevention and treatment of these cardiopulmonary disorders.

Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA) and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors (DPP-4i) are two novel classes of hypoglycemic agents. The relative cardiovascular effectiveness between these two drug classes in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) is unestablished due to the absence of large cardiovascular outcome trials directly comparing DPP-4i with GLP-1RA. We aimed to incorporate large propensity score-matched cohort studies to conduct a meta-analysis, to determine the relative effectiveness of GLP-1RA versus DPP-4i on cardiovascular endpoints in T2D patients. Compared to DPP-4i, GLP-1RA was associated with the significantly lower risks of major adverse cardiovascular events [MACE] (HR 0.76, 95% CI 0.63-0.92), cardiovascular mortality (HR 0.59, 95% CI 0.37-0.95), myocardial infarction (HR 0.89, 95% CI 0.80-0.98), stroke (HR 0.86, 95% CI 0.76-0.96), and all-cause mortality (HR 0.63, 95% CI 0.42-0.96) in T2D patients; whereas these two drug classes had the similar risk of hospitalization for heart failure [HHF] (HR 0.95, 95% CI 0.77-1.16). Meta-regression analyses showed that six factors (i.e., mean age, female proportion, cardiovascular disease proportion, heart failure proportion, and the proportions of receiving metformin and insulin at baseline) did not significantly affect the effects of GLP-1RA on MACE and HHF (P ≥ 0.076). This meta-analysis provides the direct evidence regarding the relative cardiovascular effectiveness of GLP-1RA versus DPP-4i from real-world studies, and its findings suggest that among T2D patients GLP-1RA should be considered in preference to DPP-4i as for preventing atherosclerotic cardiovascular events and death in clinical practice.

Primary liver cancer (PLC) is one of the most common malignancies in China, where it ranks second in mortality and fifth in morbidity. Currently, liver transplantation, hepatic tumor resection, radiofrequency ablation, and molecular-targeted agents are the major treatments for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Overall, HCC has a poor survival rate and a high recurrence rate. Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) have been discovered to play essential roles in the development, prognosis, and immunotherapy treatment of HCC. As the major component cells of TILs, T cells are also proved to show antitumor and protumor effects in HCC. Foxp3+, CD8+, CD3+, and CD4+ T lymphocytes are the broadly studied subgroups of TILs. This article reviews the roles and mechanisms of different tumor-infiltrating T lymphocyte subtypes in HCC.

SARS-CoV-2 infection has caused a global pandemic that has severely damaged both public health and the economy. The nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2 is multifunctional and plays an important role in ribonucleocapsid formation and viral genome replication. In order to elucidate its functions, interaction partners of the SARS-CoV-2 N protein in human cells were identified via affinity purification and mass spectrometry. We identified 160 cellular proteins as interaction partners of the SARS-CoV-2 N protein in HEK293T and/or Calu-3 cells. Functional analysis revealed strong enrichment for ribosome biogenesis and RNA-associated processes, including ribonucleoprotein complex biogenesis, ribosomal large and small subunits biogenesis, RNA binding, catalysis, translation and transcription. Proteins related to virus defence responses, including MOV10, EIF2AK2, TRIM25, G3BP1, ZC3HAV1 and ZCCHC3 were also identified in the N protein interactome. This study comprehensively profiled the viral-host interactome of the SARS-CoV-2 N protein in human cells, and the findings provide the basis for further studies on the pathogenesis and antiviral strategies for this emerging infection.
