Addressing the rise in global temperatures and the associated increase in greenhouse gases, particularly carbon dioxide, is a critical challenge necessitating innovative approaches within the building sector, a significant contributor to worldwide carbon emissions. While previous studies have demonstrated the prefabrication's potential in reducing emissions, comprehensive assessments using actual project data for buildings constructed entirely with modular methods in Hong Kong are lacking. This study bridges this gap by evaluating the modular integrated construction (MiC) method through an embodied carbon assessment of the Kai Tak Community Isolation Facility. Using comprehensive project data from China State Construction (HK) Limited, the research conducts a comparative analysis between the actual emissions of the MiC method and those of a hypothetical conventional construction approach. Quantitative analysis reveals that MiC achieves a 20.7% reduction in embodied carbon, primarily due to shortened construction timelines, decreased waste generation, and optimized material usage. This significant reduction suggests substantial potential for decreasing the construction industry's carbon footprint. The study provides empirical evidence supporting the environmental benefits of MiC in Hong Kong construction industry, promoting its broader adoption of MiC as a strategy for achieving carbon reduction targets. The findings align with Hong Kong's carbon neutrality goals and contribute to the global initiative to mitigate the effects of climate change.

BACKGROUND: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) was characterized by pain and limited joint function, which seriously affected the quality of life of patients. The vast majority of KOA was closely related to degeneration of the patellofemoral joint and abnormal patellar movement trajectory. Tissue-bone homeostasis manipulation (TBHM) could correct abnormal patellar movement trajectory on the basis of loosening soft tissue. However, there was little strong evidence to verify its efficacy on the patients with KOA. The study objective was to explore the efficacy of the TBHM on gait and knee function in the patients with KOA. METHODS: Sixty KOA patients were randomly assigned to either the joint mobilization (n = 30) or TBHM (n = 30) group. The joint mobilization group received joint mobilization, while the TBHM group received TBHM. For two groups, the patients participated in 30 min rehabilitation sessions thrice per week for 12 weeks. The primary outcome was biomechanical gait outcomes during walking, including step length, step velocity, double support, knee range of motion (ROM), and knee adduction moment (KAM). The secondary outcomes were the Western Ontario and McMaster Index (WOMAC) and 36-Item short- form health survey (SF-36), which reflected improvements in knee function and quality of life, respectively. At baseline and 12 weeks, evaluations were conducted and compared between groups. RESULTS: After a 12-week intervention, significant group differences were observed in KAM (p = 0.018), WOMAC-Pain (p = 0.043) and WOMAC-Stiffness (p = 0.026). A noteworthy finding was the presence of a significant interaction effect between group and time specifically observed in step velocity during gait (p = 0.046), WOMAC-Function (p = 0.013) and SF-36 (p = 0.027). Further analysis revealed a significant difference in step velocity (p = 0.034), WOMAC-Function (p = 0.025) and SF-36 (p = 0.042) during post-assessment between the two groups. Moreover, a significant time effect was observed across all outcomes of the two groups (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The TBHM intervention has better improved the gait, knee function, and quality of life in the patients with KOA. TRIAL REGISTRATION: ITMCTR, ITMCTR2200005507. Central nervous system leukemia (CNSL) and central nervous system infection (CNSI) are the most important complications in patients with acute leukemia (AL). However, the differential diagnosis could represent a major challenge since the two disorders are all heterogeneous entities with overlapping clinical characteristics and radiological appearances. In this paper, we conduct a retrospective study to develop a model based on clinical data and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to distinguish CNSL from CNSI. A total of 108 patients with AL who underwent cranial MRI between January 2020 and December 2023 in our hospital were included. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to determine the independent predictors. A nomogram was developed based on the predictors, and the performance of the nomogram was evaluated by the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. The validation cohort was used to test the predictive model. Hyperleukocytosis at initial diagnosis, marrow state, fever, conscious disturbance, coinfection in other sites and MRI (parenchyma type) were identified as independent factors. A nomogram was constructed and the discrimination was presented as AUC = 0.947 (95% CI 0.9105-0.984). Calibration of the nomogram showed that the predicted probability matched the actual probability well.

BACKGROUND: Sepsis remains a leading cause of mortality in intensive care units, and rapid and accurate pathogen detection is crucial for effective treatment. This study evaluated the clinical application of multi-site metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) for the diagnosis of sepsis, comparing its performance against conventional methods. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 69 patients with sepsis consecutively admitted to the Department of Intensive Care Medicine, Meizhou People's Hospital. Samples of peripheral blood and infection sites were collected for mNGS and conventional method tests to compare the positive rate of mNGS and traditional pathogen detection methods and the distribution of pathogens. The methods used in this study included a comprehensive analysis of pathogen consistency between peripheral blood and infection site samples. Additionally, the correlation between the pathogens detected and clinical outcomes was investigated. RESULTS: Of the patients with sepsis, 57.97% experienced dyspnea, and 65.2% had underlying diseases, with hypertension being the most common. mNGS demonstrated a significantly higher pathogen detection rate (88%) compared to the conventional method tests (26%). The pathogen consistency rate was 60% between plasma and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid samples, and that of plasma and local body fluid samples was 63%. The most frequently detected pathogens were gram-negative bacteria, and Klebsiella pneumonia. There were no significant differences in the clinical features between the pathogens. CONCLUSION: mNGS is significantly superior to conventional methods in pathogen detection. There was a notable high pathogen consistency detection between blood and local body fluid samples, supporting the clinical relevance of mNGS. This study highlights the superiority of mNGS in detecting a broad spectrum of pathogens quickly and accurately. TRIAL REGISTRATION: Not applicable.

We investigate the temperature tunable dual quasi-bound states in the continuum (qBICs) in a silicon/vanadium dioxide (Si/VO2) hybrid metasurface with Q-factor being as large as 9.3 × 106 and 2.8 × 107 by breaking the in-plane C2 symmetry. The far-field scattering of multipoles and near-field distributions confirm that the toroidal dipole and magnetic quadrupole dominate the dual qBICs resonance. The high performance of slow light with ultralarge group index exceeding 5.6 × 105 and the inverse quadratic law between the group index and asymmetric parameter are achieved. By temperature tuning of the VO2 thin film at the sub-10â K scale, a modulation depth of 90% and the ON/OFF ratio exceeding 12.8â dB are obtained. The proposed temperature tunable dual qBICs have potential applications in the fields of tunable slow light, temperature switches, and sensors.

Introduction: Acinetobacter baumannii (AB) is rising as a human pathogen of critical priority worldwide as it is the leading cause of opportunistic infections in healthcare settings and carbapenem-resistant AB is listed as a "super bacterium" or "priority pathogen for drug resistance" by the World Health Organization. Methods: Clinical isolates of A. baumannii were collected and tested for antimicrobial susceptibility. Among them, carbapenem-resistant and carbapenem-sensitive A. baumannii were subjected to prokaryotic transcriptome sequencing. The change of sRNA and mRNA expression was analyzed by bioinformatics and validated by quantitative reverse transcription-PCR. Results: A total of 687 clinical isolates were collected, of which 336 strains of A. baumannii were resistant to carbapenem. Five hundred and six differentially expressed genes and nineteen differentially expressed sRNA candidates were discovered through transcriptomic profile analysis between carbapenem-resistant isolates and carbapenem-sensitive isolates. Possible binding sites were predicted through software for sRNA21 and adeK, sRNA27 and pgaC, sRNA29 and adeB, sRNA36 and katG, indicating a possible targeting relationship. A negative correlation was shown between sRNA21 and adeK (r = -0.581, P = 0.007), sRNA27 and pgaC (r = -0.612, P = 0.004), sRNA29 and adeB (r = -0.516, P = 0.020). Discussion: This study preliminarily screened differentially expressed mRNA and sRNA in carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii, and explored possible targeting relationships, which will help further reveal the resistance mechanism and provide a theoretical basis for the development of drugs targeting sRNA for the prevention and treatment of carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii infection.

Campylobacter jejuni (C. jejuni) is a major cause of gastroenteritis and rarely cause bloodstream infection. Herein, we characterized a multidrug-resistant C. jejuni strain LZCJ isolated from a tumor patient with bloodstream infection. LZCJ was resistant to norfloxacin, ampicillin, ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin and tetracycline. It showed high survival rate in serum and acidic environment. Whole genome sequencing (WGS) analysis revealed that strain LZCJ had a single chromosome of 1,629,078 bp (30.6 % G + C content) and belonged to the ST137 lineage. LZCJ shared the highest identity of 99.66 % with the chicken-derived C. jejuni MTVDSCj20. Four antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) were detected, blaOXA-61, tet(O), gyrA (T86I), and cmeR (G144D and S207G). In addition, a 12,746 bp genomic island GI_LZCJ carrying 15 open reading frames (ORFs) including the resistance gene tet(O) was identified. Sequence analysis found that the GI_LZCJ was highly similar to the duck-derived C. jejuni ZS004, but with an additional ISChh1-like sequence. 137 non-synonymous mutations in motility related genes (flgF, fapR, flgS), capsular polysaccharide (CPS) coding genes (kpsE, kpsF, kpsM, kpsT), metabolism associated genes (nuoF, nuoG, epsJ, holB), and transporter related genes (comEA, gene0911) were confirmed in LZCJ compared with the best closed chicken-derived strain MTVDSCj20. Our study showed that C. jejuni strain LZCJ was highly similar to the chicken-derived strain MTVDSCj20 but with a lot of SNPs involved in motility, CPS and metabolism coding genes. This strain possessed a tet(O)-positive genomic island GI_LZCJ, which was closed to duck-derived C. jejuni ZS004, but with an additional ISChh1-like sequence. The above data indicated that the LZCJ strain may originate from foodborne bacteria on animals and the importance of continuous surveillance for the spread of foodborne bacteria.

Lightweight concrete offers numerous advantages for modular construction, including easier construction planning and logistics, and the ability to offset additional dead loads induced by double-wall and double-slab features. In a previous study, authors proposed incorporating lightweight aggregate into foamed concrete instead of adding extra foam to achieve lower density, resulting in lightweight concrete with an excellent strength-to-density ratio. This paper further investigated the performance aspects of foamed concrete with lightweight aggregate beyond mechanical strength. To evaluate the effect of aggregate type and foam content, three mix compositions were designed for the lightweight concrete. Specimens were prepared for experimental tests on thermal conductivity and drying shrinkage of lightweight concrete. Results showed that while both the increase in foam volume and the incorporation of lightweight aggregate led to higher drying shrinkage, they also contributed to improved insulating properties and reduced potential of cracking. Using typical multi-storey modular residential buildings in Hong Kong and three other Chinese cities as case studies, simulations were performed to assess potential savings in annual cooling and heating loads by employing the proposed lightweight concrete. These findings demonstrate the practical benefits of using foamed concrete with lightweight aggregate in modular construction and provide valuable insights for further optimization and implementation.

Background: Evidence of an association between maternal use of anti-seizure medication (ASM) during pregnancy and the risk of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children is conflicting. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to summarize the relationship between fetal exposure to ASM and the development of ASD or ADHD in offspring. Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted in PubMed and other databases to identify relevant epidemiological studies published from inception until 1 March 2024. Results: Seven cohort studies were included in the meta-analysis. The results showed that maternal exposure to ASMs during pregnancy was associated with an increased risk of ASD [odds ratio (OR): 2.1, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.63-2.71; p < 0.001] in the general population. This association became weaker (ASD: OR: 1.38, 95% CI: 1.11-1.73; p = 0.004) when the reference group was mothers with a psychiatric disorder or epilepsy not treated during pregnancy. Furthermore, an increased risk of ADHD was observed when the study data adjusted for drug indications were pooled (OR: 1.43, 95% CI: 1.07-1.92; p = 0.015). In subgroup analyses based on individual ASM use, only exposure to valproate preconception was significantly associated with an increased risk of ASD or ADHD. Conclusion: The significant association between maternal ASM use during pregnancy and ASD or ADHD in offspring may be partially explained by the drug indication or driven by valproate.

BACKGROUND: Nurses represent China's largest healthcare workforce. Nurse practitioners (NPs) play an essential role in providing cost-effective quality healthcare and bridging the healthcare gaps. However, NPs are relatively new in China, and limited evidence exists on senior nurses' knowledge of and attitudes toward NPs. AIMS: This study aimed to describe senior nurses' knowledge, attitudes, and perceived facilitators and barriers of NPs in China using a self-designed, culturally adaptive questionnaire. METHODS: A cross-sectional online survey was conducted among 412 senior nurses in Hunan Province from December 2021 to January 2022. The Knowledge and Attitudes towards Nurse Practitioners Questionnaire (KANPQ) was developed based on the Delphi method, which included 30 items under three dimensions: knowledge (22 items), attitude (2 items), and perceived facilitators and barriers (6 items). Multivariate linear regression was conducted to explore factors associated with senior nurses' attitudes toward NPs. RESULTS: The average KANPQ knowledge score was 68.56 ± 22.69, with 55.09%,10.20%, and 34.71% of participants showing good, moderate, and poor levels of knowledge, respectively. The average KANPQ attitude score was 7.79 ± 1.72, with 65.3% thinking NPs were necessary and 69.9% expressing willingness to become NPs. Nurses with higher professional titles and better knowledge of NPs had more positive attitudes toward NPs. The three most frequently mentioned barriers to NP implementation were patient trust, laws, and education. CONCLUSIONS: Approximately one-third of senior nurses have poor knowledge and negative attitudes toward NPs, indicating much room for improvement. Strengthening the education and training of NPs, especially among those with lower professional titles and lower knowledge of NPs, may help improve their knowledge and attitudes toward NPs. In addition, continuous political, social, economic, and individual efforts are needed to facilitate the successful development of NPs in China.

Colorectal cancer represents the over-expression of TMEM16A and COX-2, offering a promising therapeutic strategy. Two Pt(iv) conjugates derived from Pt(ii) drug (cisplatin or oxaliplatin) and niflumic acid, complexes 1 and 2, were designed and prepared to exert the positive impact of multiple biological targets of DNA/TMEM16A/COX-2 against colorectal cancer. Complex 2 afforded higher cytotoxicity than 1 and the combination of an intermediate of oxidized oxaliplatin and NFA against cancer cells A549, HeLa, MCF-7, and HCT116. Especially for colorectal cancer cells HCT116, 2 was significantly more toxic (22-fold) and selective to cancer cells against normal HUVEC cells (4-fold) than first-line oxaliplatin. The outstanding anticancer activity of 2 is partly attributed to its dramatic increase in cellular uptake, DNA damage, and apoptosis. Mechanistic studies indicated that 2 inhibited HCT116 cell metastasis by triggering TMEM16A, COX-2, and their downstream signaling pathways, including EGFR, STAT3, E-cadherin and N-cadherin.

The aging of Pb added to soils has not been studied by the isotopic technology because of difficulties in determination of isotopically exchangeable Pb in soil, so that a set of 10 typical agricultural soils in China and a one-year aging experiment with the addition of water-soluble Pb to the soils were carried out. A modified stable isotope dilution technique to determine isotopically exchangeable Pb in soil was developed where 0.2 mM EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) as the extractant. When water-soluble Pb was added to soil, the isotopically exchangeable Pb (Eadd%, the percentage of isotopically exchangeable Pb to total Pb added to soil) initially decreased rapidly and gradually slowly. A semi-mechanistic aging model of Pb added to soils, including precipitation/nucleation (Y1), micropore diffusion (Y2), and organic matter encapsulation processes (Y3) was developed with the root mean square error 8.3% where Y1, Y2, and Y3 accounted for 0.02~26.9%, 1.4~21.8% and 3.8~11.3%, respectively, when the pH 4.0~8.0 and organic matter 2.0~6.0%. Soil pH was a vital factor affecting the aging rate. When the pH increased by 1 unit, the Eadd value decreased by approximately 9%. The model could be used to scale ecotoxicological data of Pb in soil generated in different aging times.

Femoral head necrosis is a common refractory disease in orthopedics, and shows a trend of getting younger. The occurrence of femoral head necrosis in adolescents is related to the use of glucocorticoids, autoimmune diseases, trauma, and other factors. Because adolescent patients are in the period of physical development, high activity requirements, and have fertility needs in the future, treatment is relatively difficult. Early artificial joint replacement may have problems such as wear and loosening, so total hip replacement is not the preferred treatment for adolescent patients with femoral head necrosis. This article will elaborate the research progress of femoral head necrosis in adolescents from 3 aspects, and summarize the benefits and side effects of core decompression combined with autologous stem cell transplantation in the treatment of early femoral head necrosis, so as to provide clinical ideas for the treatment of femoral head necrosis in adolescents.

A mild, efficient and practical protocol for the preparation of 2-sulfonylquinolines through CS2/Et2NH-induced deoxygenative C2-H sulfonylation of quinoline N-oxides with readily available RSO2Cl was developed. The reaction proceeded well under transition-metal-free conditions and exhibited a wide substrate scope and functional group tolerance. The preliminary studies suggested that the nucleophilic sulfonyl sources were generated in situ via the reaction of CS2, Et2NH and sulfonyl chlorides.

We here describe a visible-light photooxidation of sulfinate salts with common alkenes to yield ß-hydroxy sulfones on DNA. This process demonstrates a broad substrate compatibility and achieves conversion rates ranging from moderate to excellent. Most importantly, it presents a straightforward, efficient, and metal-free approach for synthesizing Csp3-rich DNA-encoded libraries.

OBJECTIVE: Ferroptosis represents a form of regulated cellular death dependent upon iron and lipid peroxidation derivatives, holding considerable implications for cerebral and neurologic pathologies. In the present study, we endeavored to elucidate the molecular mechanisms governing ferroptosis and appraise the therapeutic value of electrical stimulation of median nerve in addressing cognitive impairments following traumatic brain injury (TBI), employing a rodent model. METHODS: In this study, we established a rat model to investigate the cognitive impairments resulting from TBI, followed by the application of median nerve stimulation (MNS). Initially, rats received an intraperitoneal injection of Erastin (2 mg/kg) prior to undergoing MNS. After 24 h of MNS treatment, the rats were subjected to an open field test to evaluate their cognitive and motor functions. Subsequently, we conducted biochemical assays to measure the serum levels of GSH, MDA and SOD. The structural integrity and cellular morphology of hippocampal tissue were examined through H&E staining, Nissl staining and transmission electron microscopy. Additionally, we assessed the expression levels of proteins crucial for neuronal health and function in the hippocampus, including VEGF, SLC7A11, GPX4, Nrf2, α-syn, NEUN and PSD95. RESULTS: Compared to the control group, rats in the stimulation group demonstrated enhanced mobility, reduced levels of tissue damage, a decrease in MDA concentration, and increased levels of GSH and SOD. Additionally, there was a significant upregulation in the expression of proteins critical for cellular defense and neuronal health, including GPX4, SLC7A11, Nrf2, VEGF, α-syn, NEUN, and PSD95 proteins. Conversely, rats in the Erastin group demonstrated decreased mobility, exacerbated pathological tissue damage, elevated MDA concentration, and decreased levels of GSH and SOD. There was also a notable decrease in the expression of GPX4, SLC7CA11, Nrf2, and VEGF proteins. The expression levels of α-syn, NEUN, and PSD95 were similarly diminished in the Erastin group. Each of these findings was statistically significant, indicating that MNS exerts neuroprotective effect in the hippocampal tissue of rats with TBI by inhibiting the ferroptosis pathway. CONCLUSION: (1) MNS may enhance the cognitive and behavioral performance of rats after TBI; (2) MNS can play a neuroprotective role by promoting the expression of nerve injury-related proteins, alleviating oxidative stress and ferroptosis process; (3) MNS may inhibit ferroptosis of neuronal cells by activating Nrf2/ GPX4 signaling pathway, thereby improving cognitive impairment in TBI rats.

Hypermucoviscosity (HMV) is a phenotype that is commonly associated with hypervirulence in Klebsiella pneumoniae. The factors that contribute to the emergence of HMV subpopulations remain unclear. In this study, eight K. pneumoniae strains were recovered from an inpatient who had been hospitalized for 20 days. Three of the isolates exhibited a non-HMV phenotype, which was concomitant with higher biofilm formation than the other five HMV isolates. All eight isolates were highly susceptible to serum killing, albeit HMV strains were remarkably more infective than non-HMV counterparts in a mouse model of infection. Whole genome sequencing (WGS) showed that the eight isolates belonged to the K57-ST412 lineage. Average nucleotide identity (FastANIb) analysis indicated that eight isolates share 99.96% to 99.99% similarity and were confirmed to be the same clone. Through comparative genomics analysis, 12 non-synonymous mutations were found among these isolates, eight of which in the non-HMV variants, including rmpA (c.285delG) and wbaP (c.1305T > A), which are assumed to be associated with the non-HMV phenotype. Mutations in manB (c.1318G > A), dmsB (c.577C > T) and tkt (c.1928C > A) occurred in HMV isolates only. RNA-Seq revealed transcripts of genes involved in energy metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism and membrane transport, including cysP, cydA, narK, tktA, pduQ, aceB, metN, and lsrA, to be significantly dysregulated in the non-HMV strains, suggesting a contribution to HMV phenotype development. This study suggests that co-occurrence of HMV and non-HMV phenotypes in the same clonal population may be mediated by mutational mechanisms as well as by certain genes involved in membrane transport and central metabolism. IMPORTANCE: K. pneumoniae with a hypermucoviscosity (HMV) phenotype is a community-acquired pathogen that is associated with increased invasiveness and pathogenicity, and underlying diseases are the most common comorbid risk factors inducing metastatic complications. HMV was earlier attributed to the overproduction of capsular polysaccharide, and more data point to the possibility of several causes contributing to this bacterial phenotype. Here, we describe a unique event in which the same clonal population showed both HMV and non-HMV characteristics. Studies have demonstrated that this process is influenced by mutational processes and genes related to transport and central metabolism. These findings provide fresh insight into the mechanisms behind co-occurrence of HMV and non-HMV phenotypes in monoclonal populations as well as potentially being critical in developing strategies to control the further spread of HMV K. pneumoniae.

PURPOSE: Androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (ARPIs) are widely prescribed in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Real-world frequencies and potential impacts of comorbidities and concomitant medication (conmed) interactions with ARPIs are not well described. METHODS: Patients receiving ARPIs for mCRPC were identified from the electronic Prostate Cancer Australian Database (ePAD). Demographics, clinicopathologic characteristics, and outcome data were extracted. Conmeds and comorbidities were collected from medical records. Potential interacting comorbidities were defined from trial and post-trial data. Clinically significant drug-drug interactions (DDIs) were identified using UpToDate Lexicomp and Stockley's databases. Patient characteristics, comorbidity interactions, DDIs, and outcomes were analyzed. RESULTS: Two hundred thirty-five patients received first- or second-line ARPIs for mCRPC from 2012 to 2021, with a median follow-up of 27 months. One hundred sixteen received abiraterone acetate (AAP) and 135 received enzalutamide (ENZ). The median age was 74 years, and the median number of conmeds was 4. Clinically significant DDIs occurred in 55 (47%) AAP patients and 90 (67%) ENZ patients. Only 5% of DDIs were predicted to affect ARPI pharmacokinetics (PK) or pharmacodynamics, whereas 95% were predicted to impact conmed PK or increase toxicity risk. In patients receiving ENZ, DDIs were associated with lower PSA50 (50% v 74%, P = .04) and poorer overall survival (28 v 45 months, P = .04), although statistical significance was not maintained on multivariate analysis. No significant survival differences were seen with DDIs in patients receiving AAP. Potential interactions between comorbidities and ARPI were present in 72% on AAP and 14% on ENZ with no significant associated survival differences. CONCLUSION: DDIs and drug-comorbidity interactions in real-world patients receiving ARPIs for mCRPC are common and may affect outcomes. Ongoing clinician education regarding DDIs is necessary to optimize patient outcomes.

A general, efficient and practical protocol for Ts2O promoted deoxygenative dithiocarbamation of quinoline N-oxides with in situ generated dithiocarbamic acids from CS2 and amines is reported. The reaction proceeded well under transition-metal free conditions to obtain a variety of novel quinoline-dithiocarbamate compounds with wide functional group tolerance and good to high yields.

Objective: To explore the effects of comprehensive nursing combined with thermal insulation measures on the awakening agitation (EA) of cesarean section parturient under general anesthesia and maternal and infant safety. Methods: A total of 136 cesarean section parturients under general anesthesia admitted in our hospital from May 2020 to November 2023 were picked as the research objects following the random, double-blind method. All patients have no mental illness and can clearly reflect their physical state. The subjects were randomized into the study group and the control group in accordance with the random number table method, with 68 cases in each group. The control group was intervened with thermal insulation measures, while the study group was intervened with comprehensive nursing combined with thermal insulation measures. Systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), and heart rate (HR) at different time points were compared. The Ramsay score (RASS), the incidence of EA, and the incidence of shivering were compared. The influence of comprehensive nursing combined with thermal insulation measures on maternal and infant safety and their recovery after the operation was analyzed. The adverse psychological status and postoperative satisfaction of the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results: SBP, DBP, and MAP in the study group were much higher than those in the control group at the time of skin incision, fetal delivery, and the end of operation (P < .05). Compared with the control group, the study group had much higher RASS, and sharply reduced incidence of EA and shivering (P < .05). The incidence of fetal distress, postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal asphyxia, etc., was significantly lower in the study group than in the control group P < .05). Parturient of the study group had a shorter duration of hospitalization, shorter detention time in the anesthesia monitoring room, and awakening time than the parturient in the control group (P < .05). The SAS and SDS scores of parturient were significantly decreased in the two groups at discharge than before the operation, and a more obvious decrease was found in the study group (P < .01). Postoperative satisfaction of the study group and the control group was 98.53% and 80.88%, respectively, which was markedly higher in the study group than in the control group (P < .05). Conclusion: Comprehensive nursing combined with thermal insulation measures vastly improved the sedation degree of parturient, reduced the incidence of EA and chills, ensured maternal and infant safety, reduced adverse pregnancy outcomes, promoted early recovery of parturient, and enhanced maternal satisfaction. This conclusion provides important guidance for improving clinical practice, emphasizing the key role of comprehensive care in improving surgical outcomes and patient comfort, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of medical services.
