RESUMO

Twenty N-substituted pyrrolo[3,4-c]quinoline-1,3-diones 3a-t were synthesized by a cyclization reaction of Pfitzinger's quinoline ester precursor with the selected aromatic, heteroaromatic and aliphatic amines. The structures of all derivatives were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS spectra, while their purity was determined using HPLC techniques. Almost all compounds were identified as a new class ofpotent inhibitors against hDHODH among which 3a and 3t were the most active ones with the same IC50 values of 0.11 µM, about seven times better than reference drug leflunomide. These two derivatives also exhibited very low cytotoxic effects toward healthy HaCaT cells and the optimal lipophilic properties with logP value of 1.12 and 2.07 respectively, obtained experimentally at physiological pH. We further evaluated the comparative differences in toxicological impact of the three most active compounds 3a, 3n and 3t and reference drug leflunomide. The rats were divided into five groups and were treated intraperitoneally, control group (group I) with a single dose of leflunomide (20 mg/kg) group II and the other three groups, III, IV and V were treated with 3a, 3n and 3t (20 mg/kg bw) separately. The investigation was performed in liver, kidney and blood by examining serum biochemical parameters and parameters of oxidative stress.

INTRODUCTION: Patients requiring coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and carotid endarterectomy (CEA) can be managed with staged (CEA before CABG), reverse staged (CABG before CEA) or synchronous treatment. This single-center retrospective study evaluated the outcomes in patients undergoing planned synchronous CEA and CABG. METHODS: Between 2000 and 2020 a total of 185 patients with symptomatic triple-vessel or left main coronary artery disease associated with 70-99% asymptomatic or 50-99% symptomatic uni- or bilateral internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis underwent synchronous CEA and CABG at our institution. Study endpoints were defined as mortality, stroke and myocardial infarction at 30 days. Additionally, the composite endpoint of these events was investigated. RESULTS: At 30 days, mortality, stroke and myocardial infarction rates were 5.9%, 8.1% (permanent [unresolved deficit at discharge] 5.4%) and 3.8%, respectively, and the composite endpoint was reached in 13.0% of patients. Patients suffering from a stroke more frequently had a contralateral 70-99% ICA stenosis (60.0% vs. 17.3%; p < 0.001), peripheral artery disease (73.3% vs. 38.9%; p = 0.013) and prolonged cardiopulmonary bypass time (mean 119 ± 62 min vs. 84 ± 29 min; p = 0.012). Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed the duration of cardiopulmonary bypass (odds ratio [OR] 1.024; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.002-1.046; p = 0.034), a history of type 2 diabetes mellitus (OR 5.097; 95% CI 1.161-22.367; p = 0.031) and peripheral artery disease (OR 5.814; 95% CI 1.231-27.457; p = 0.026) as independent risk factors for reaching the composite endpoint. CONCLUSION: Patients undergoing synchronous CEA and CABG face an elevated risk of perioperative cardiovascular events, particularly an increased stroke risk in patients with symptomatic and bilateral ICA stenosis. BACKGROUND: Early studies of the Tendyne transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) showed promising results in a small selective cohort. OBJECTIVES: The authors present 1-year data from the currently largest commercial, real-world cohort originating from the investigator-initiated TENDER (Tendyne European Experience) registry. METHODS: All patients from the TENDER registry eligible for 1-year follow-up were included. The primary safety endpoint was 1-year cardiovascular mortality. Primary performance endpoint was reduction of mitral regurgitation (MR) up to 1 year. RESULTS: Among 195 eligible patients undergoing TMVR (median age 77 years [Q1-Q3: 71-81 years], 60% men, median Society of Thoracic Surgeons Predicted Risk of Mortality 5.6% [Q1-Q3: 3.6%-8.9%], 81% in NYHA functional class III or IV, 94% with MR 3+/4+), 31% had "real-world" indications for TMVR (severe mitral annular calcification, prior mitral valve treatment, or others) outside of the instructions for use. The technical success rate was 95%. The cardiovascular mortality rate was 7% at 30 day and 17% at 1 year (all-cause mortality rates were 9% and 29%, respectively). Reintervention or surgery following discharge was 4%, while rates of heart failure hospitalization reduced from 68% in the preceding year to 25% during 1-year follow-up. Durable MR reduction to ≤1+ was achieved in 98% of patients, and at 1 year, 83% were in NYHA functional class I or II. There was no difference in survival and major adverse events between on-label use and "real-world" indications up to 1 year. CONCLUSIONS: This large, real-world, observational registry reports high technical success, durable and complete MR elimination, significant clinical benefits, and a 1-year cardiovascular mortality rate of 17% after Tendyne TMVR. Outcomes were comparable between on-label use and "real-world" indications, offering a safe and efficacious treatment option for patients without alternative treatments. Treatment of post-dissection arch and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms presents significant therapeutic challenges. True lumen collapse or take off of aortic branches from the false lumen makes endograft alignment difficult, if not impossible. We present herein the first successful case of an extensive thoracoabdominal electro aortic septotomy of the entire dissection membrane from the aortic arch down to the aortic bifurcation during an open redo aortic arch replacement employing the frozen elephant trunk technique. The procedure was performed on a 59 years old female patient presenting with a progressive post-dissection aortic aneurysm during follow-up with a maximum diameter of 6 cm 11 years after operating on an acute type A aortic dissection. Due to the extensive longitudinal aortic electric septotomy, we created a new "common lumen" for subsequent endovascular completion of the repair.

Objective: Electrosurgical laceration and stabilization of mitral clips (ELASTA-CLIP) is a bail-out technique to recreate a single-orifice mitral valve after transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) with subsequent transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR). This technique is a novel option for patients with significant residual mitral regurgitation after TEER with high risk for conventional surgery. The original ELASTA CLIP procedure features a transseptal approach, whereas the TMVR with the Tendyne bioprosthesis has a transapical access. Hereby we tested the hypothesis that a modified transapical ELASTA CLIP technique can be safely applied transapically allowing a straightforward one-stop shop access strategy. Methods: We developed the procedural steps in a porcine passive-beating heart model and applied the modified technique with subsequent TMVR in 2 consecutive patients with severe mitral regurgitation after previous TEER. Patients were followed up to 30 days. Results: The modified transapical ELASTA CLIP procedure was successful in both patients. The mean total procedure time was 118 minutes, and the mean fluoroscopy duration 22 minutes. At 30 days' follow-up, both patients were alive without bleeding complications, reintervention, or prosthetic valve dysfunction. Conclusions: The modified transapical ELASTA CLIP procedure is technically feasible and safe at 30 days. Procedure times are lower compared with previous reports of the original transseptal approach.

Pathogenic mechanisms in degenerative thoracic aortic aneurysms (TAA) are still unclear. There is an ongoing debate about whether TAAs are caused by uniform or distinct processes, which would obviously have a major impact on future treatment strategies. Clearly, the ultimate outcome of TAA subgroups associated with a tricuspid aortic valve (TAV) or a bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is the same, namely a TAA. Based on results from our own and others' studies, we decided to compare the different TAAs (TAV and BAV) and controls using a broad array of analyses, i.e., metabolomic analyses, gene expression profiling, protein expression analyses, histological characterization, and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization imaging. Central findings of the present study are the presence of noncanonical atherosclerosis, pathological accumulation of macrophages, and disturbances of lipid metabolism in the aortic media. Moreover, we have also found that lipid metabolism is impaired systemically. Importantly, all of the above-described phenotypes are characteristic for TAV-TAA only, and not for BAV-TAA. In summary, our results suggest different modes of pathogenesis in TAV- and BAV-associated aneurysms. Intimal atherosclerotic changes play a more central role in TAV-TAA formation than previously thought, particularly as the observed alterations do not follow classical patterns. Atherosclerotic alterations are not limited to the intima but also affect and alter the TAV-TAA media. Further studies are needed to i) clarify patho-relevant intima-media interconnections, ii) define the origin of the systemic alteration of lipid metabolism, and iii) to define valid biomarkers for early diagnosis, disease progression, and successful treatments in TAV-TAAs.

INTRODUCTION: The frozen elephant trunk technique (FET) has become routine for aortic arch and descending aortic repair. New hybrid prosthesis models are constantly being developed to increase effectiveness and durability of aortic repair. Recently, concerns were raised regarding increased post-operative bleeding using a new-generation hybrid prosthesis (E-vita® OPEN NEO, CryoLife Inc. JOTEC GmbH, Hechingen, Germany). We report the outcomes of a multi-centre experience of using the E-vita OPEN NEO. METHODS: All patients undergoing aortic surgery at five European centres using the E-vita OPEN NEO from 2020 to 2022 were included (n = 22). The primary endpoint was the amount of chest drain fluid after 24 h and re-thoracotomy rate for bleeding. RESULTS: Median patient age was 62.5 ± 12.6 years, 50.0% (11/22 patients) were female and 27.3% (6/22) of procedures were re-operative cardiac surgeries. Aortic dissection was present in 54.5% (12/22). The median cardiopulmonary bypass time was 148 min and ischaemia time was 84 min. Mortality at 30 days was 4.5% (1/22) and the stroke rate was 18.2% (4/22). The rate of re-thoracotomy for bleeding was 4.5% (1/22) with a median amount of chest drain fluid within 24 h of 569 (IQR 338-910) ml. There were no device-associated adverse events. CONCLUSIONS: Use of this new-generation hybrid prosthesis for FET was safe and effective. Patient follow-up was largely uneventful given the extent of the procedures performed. In particular, bleeding events were uncommon in this cohort of patients comprising many aortic dissections and re-operative procedures. No increase in oozing was observed.

Fourteen novel quinoline-4-carboxylic acid-chalcone hybrids were obtained via Claisen-Schmidt condensation and evaluated as potential human dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (hDHODH) inhibitors. The ketone precursor 2 was synthesized by the Pfitzinger reaction and used for further derivatization at position 3 of the quinoline ring for the first time. Six compounds showed better hDHODH inhibitory activity than the reference drug leflunomide, with IC50 values ranging from 0.12 to 0.58 µM. The bioactive conformations of the compounds within hDHODH were resolved by means of molecular docking, revealing their tendency to occupy the narrow tunnel of hDHODH within the N-terminus and to prevent ubiquinone as the second cofactor from easily approaching the flavin mononucleotide as a cofactor for the redox reaction within the redox site. The results of the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay revealed that 4d and 4h demonstrated the highest cytotoxic activity against the A375 cell line, with IC50 values of 5.0 and 6.8 µM, respectively. The lipophilicity of the synthesized hybrids was obtained experimentally and expressed as logD7.4 values at physiologicalpH while the solubility assay was conducted to define physicochemical characteristics influencing the ADMET properties.

RESUMO

Transcatheter therapy of the mitral valve is more challenging compared to the aortic valve. Interventional therapy with the Mitra-Clip system, mimicking the surgical edge-to-edge repair, was first introduced in 2003 and received the CE mark in 2008. The first implantation of the Tendyne system, which is currently the only commercially available system for mitral valve replacement, was performed in 2014, and routine clinical use was approved in 2020. Several new valve platforms are in clinical development and will expand the treatment portfolio. This article will discuss the clinical indications, technical challenges and specific requirements for perioperative management.

The design and study of efficient polymer-based drug delivery systems for the controlled release of anticancer drugs is one of the pillars of nanomedicine. The fight against metastatic and invasive cancers demands therapeutic candidates with increased and selective toxicity towards malignant cells, long-term activity and reduced side effects. In this sense, polyphosphazene nanocarriers were synthesized for the sustained release of the anticancer drugs camptothecin (CPT) and epirubicin (EPI). Linear poly(dichloro)phosphazene was modified with lipophilic tocopherol or testosterone glycinate, with antioxidant and antitumor activity, and with hydrophilic Jeffamine M1000 to obtain different polyphosphazene nanocarriers. It allowed us to encapsulate the lipophilic CPT and the more hydrophilic EPI. The encapsulation process was carried out via solvent exchange/precipitation, attaining a 9.2-13.6 wt% of CPT and 0.3-2.4 wt% of EPI. CPT-loaded polyphosphazenes formed 140-200 nm aggregates in simulated body physiological conditions (PBS, pH 7.4), resulting in an 80-100-fold increase of CPT solubility. EPI-loaded polyphosphazenes formed 250 nm aggregates in an aqueous medium. CPT and EPI release (PBS, pH 7.4, 37 °C) was monitored for 202 h, being almost linear during the first 8 h. The slow release of testosterone and tocopherol was also sustained for 150 h in PBS (pH 7.4 and 6.0) at 37 °C. The co-delivery of testosterone or tocopherol and the anticancer drugs from the nanocarriers was expected. Cells of the human breast cancer cell line MCF-7 demonstrated good uptake of anticancer-drug-loaded nanocarriers after 6 h. Similarly, MCF-7 spheroids showed good uptake of the anticancer-drug-loaded aggregates after 72 h. Almost all anticancer-drug-loaded polyphosphazenes exhibited similar or superior toxicity against MCF-7 cells and spheroids when compared to raw anticancer drugs. Additionally, cell-cycle arrest in the G2/M phase was increased in response to the drug-loaded nanocarriers. Almost no toxicity of anticancer-drug-loaded aggregates against primary human lung fibroblasts was observed. Furthermore, the aggregates displayed no hemolytic activity, which is in contrast to the parent anticancer drugs. Consequently, synthesized polyphosphazene-based nanocarriers might be potential nanomedicines for chemotherapy.

AIMS: Transcatheter mitral valve implantation (TMVI) is a new treatment option for patients with symptomatic mitral valve (MV) disease. Real-world data have not yet been reported. This study aimed to assess procedural and 30-day outcomes of TMVI in a real-world patient cohort. METHOD AND RESULTS: All consecutive patients undergoing implantation of a transapically delivered self-expanding valve at 26 European centres from January 2020 to April 2021 were included in this retrospective observational registry. Among 108 surgical high-risk patients included (43% female, mean age 75 ± 7 years, mean STS-PROM 7.2 ± 5.3%), 25% was treated for an off-label indication (e.g. previous MV intervention or surgery, mitral stenosis, mitral annular calcification). Patients were highly symptomatic (New York Heart Association [NYHA] functional class III/IV in 86%) and mitral regurgitation (MR) was graded 3+/4+ in 95% (38% primary, 37% secondary, and 25% mixed aetiology). Technical success rate was 96%, and MR reduction to ≤1+ was achieved in all patients with successful implantation. There were two procedural deaths and 30-day all-cause mortality was 12%. At early clinical follow-up, MR reduction was sustained and there were significant reductions of pulmonary pressure (systolic pulmonary artery pressure 52 vs. 42 mmHg, p < 0.001), and tricuspid regurgitation severity (p = 0.013). Heart failure symptoms improved significantly (73% in NYHA class I/II, p < 0.001). Procedural success rate according to MVARC criteria was 80% and was not different in patients treated for an off-label indication (74% vs. 81% for off- vs. on-label, p = 0.41). CONCLUSION: In a real-world patient population, TMVI has a high technical and procedural success rate with efficient and durable MR reduction and symptomatic improvement.

Side-chain-to-side-chain cyclization is frequently used to stabilize the α-helical conformation of short peptides. In a previous study, we incorporated a lactam bridge between the side chains of Lys-i and Asp-i+4 in the nonapeptide 1Y, cyclo-(2,6)-(Ac-VKRLQDLQY-NH2 ), an artificial ligand of the inhibitor of DNA binding and cell differentiation (ID) protein with antiproliferative activity on cancer cells. Herein, we show that only the cyclized five-residue segment adopts a helical turn whereas the C-terminal residues remain flexible. Moreover, we present nine 1Y analogs arising from different combinations of hydrophobic residues (leucine, isoleucine, norleucine, valine, and tyrosine) at positions 1, 4, 7, and 9. All cyclopeptides except one build a lactam-bridged helical turn; however, residue-4 reveals less helix character than the neighboring Arg-3 and Gln-5, especially with residue-4 being isoleucine, valine, and tyrosine. Surprisingly, only two cyclopeptides exhibit helix propagation until the C-terminus, whereas the others share a remarkable outward tilting of the backbone carbonyl of the lactam-bridged Asp-6 (>40° deviation from the orientation parallel to the helix axis), which prevents the formation of the H-bond between Arg-3 CO and residue-7 NH: As a result, the propagation of the helix beyond the lactam-bridged sequence becomes unfavorable. We conclude that, depending on the amino-acid sequence, the lactam bridge between Lys-i and Asp-i+4 can stabilize a helical turn but deviations from the ideal helix geometry are possible: Indeed, besides the outward tilting of the backbone carbonyls, the residues per turn increased from 3.6 (typical of a regular α-helix) to 4.2, suggesting a partial helix unwinding.

Mitral regurgitation (MR) recurrence after annuloplasty can lead to high-risk reoperations affecting long-term outcome. Transcatheter, transapical mitral valve replacement (TMVR) is an alternative method to treat severe MR without the use of cardiopulmonary bypass. This report describes the case of an 80-year old man who had undergone a mitral annuloplasty in 2006 and who now presented with severe recurrent MR. We performed TMVR using the Tendyne system (Abbott Laboratories). Our experience showed that TMVR after annuloplasty can be a safe method, thus reducing the procedural time and providing an alternative to the MitraClip (Abbott Laboratories) in-the-ring and the transcatheter aortic valve in-the-ring concept.

A water-soluble hydrolysate of silk fibroin (SF) (~30 kDa) was esterified with tocopherol, ergocalciferol, and testosterone to form SF aggregates for the controlled delivery of the anticancer drug camptothecin (CPT). Elemental analysis and 1H NMR spectroscopy showed a degree of substitution (DS) on SF of 0.4 to 3.8 mol %. Yields of 58 to 71% on vitamins- and testosterone-grafted SF conjugates were achieved. CPT was efficiently incorporated into the lipophilic core of SF aggregates using a dialysis-precipitation method, achieving drug contents of 6.3-8.5 wt %. FTIR spectra and DSC thermograms showed that tocopherol- and testosterone-grafted SF conjugates predominantly adopted a ß-sheet conformation. After the esterification of tyrosine residues on SF chains with the vitamin or testosterone, the hydrodynamic diameters almost doubled or tripled that of SF. The zeta potential values after esterification increased to about -30 mV, which favors the stability of aggregates in aqueous medium. Controlled and almost quantitative release of CPT was achieved after 6 days in PBS at 37 °C, with almost linear release during the first 8 h. MCF-7 cancer cells exhibited good uptake of CPT-loaded SF aggregates after 6 h, causing cell death and cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase. Substantial uptake of the CPT-loaded aggregates into MCF-7 spheroids was shown after 3 days. Furthermore, all CPT-loaded SF aggregates demonstrated superior toxicity to MCF-7 spheroids compared with parent CPT. Blank SF aggregates induced no hemolysis at pH 6.2 and 7.4, while CPT-loaded SF aggregates provoked hemolysis at pH 6.2 but not at pH 7.4. In contrast, parent CPT caused hemolysis at both pH tested. Therefore, CPT-loaded SF aggregates are promising candidates for chemotherapy.

BACKGROUND: The aim of the study was to assess the indications, surgical strategies, and outcomes after reoperative aortic arch surgery performed generally under mild hypothermia. METHODS: Ninety consecutive patients (60 males, mean age, 55 ± 16 years) underwent open reoperative aortic arch surgery after previous cardiac aortic surgery. The indications included chronic-progressive arch aneurysm (55.5%), chronic aortic dissection (17.8%), contained arch rupture (16.7%), and graft infection (10%). The reoperation was performed through a repeat sternotomy (96%) or clamshell thoracotomy (4%) using antegrade cerebral perfusion under mild systemic hypothermia (28.9 ± 2.5°C) in all except three patients. RESULTS: The surgery comprised hemiarch or total arch replacement in 41 (46%) and 49 (54%) patients, respectively. The distal extension included classic or frozen elephant trunk technique, each in 12 patients, and total descending aorta replacement in 4 patients. Operative mortality was 6 (6.7%) among all patients, with age identified as the only independent predictor of operative mortality (p = 0.05). Permanent and transient neurologic deficits occurred in 1% and 9% of the patients, respectively. Estimated survival at 8 years was 59 ± 8% with advanced heart failure predictive for late mortality (p = 0.014). Freedom from second reoperation or intervention on the aorta was 78 ± 6% at 8 years, with most of these events occurring downstream in patients with chronic degenerative aneurysms. CONCLUSION: Aortic arch reoperations performed using antegrade cerebral perfusion under mild systemic hypothermia offer favorable operative outcomes with an exceptionally low rate of neurologic morbidity without any difference between hemiarch and complex arch procedures.

Twenty novel 2-substituted quinoline-4-carboxylic acids bearing amide moiety were designed and synthesized by Doebner reaction. Human dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (hDHODH) was recognized as a biological target and all compounds were screened as potential hDHODH inhibitors in an enzyme inhibition assay. The prepared heterocycles were also evaluated for their cytotoxic effects on the healthy HaCaT cell line while lipophilic properties were considered on the basis of experimentally determined logD values at physiological pH. The most promising compound 5j, with chlorine at para-position of terminal phenyl ring, showed good hDHODH inhibitory activity, low cytotoxicity, and optimal lipophilicity. The bioactive conformation of 5j on the hDHODH, determined by means of molecular docking, revealed the compound's pharmacology and provide guidelines for further lead optimization.

RATIONALE: Redo surgeries after mitral valve repair are technically demanding. Procedures applying the NeoChord device (NeoChord Inc, St. Louis Park, MN) have proven to be safe and feasible in selected patients requiring mitral valve repair due to a leaflet prolapse or flail. However, its use for redo procedures after conventional surgical repair has not been well established yet. PATIENT CONCERNS: We report the case of a 57-year-old man who presented with dyspnea upon exertion. The patient had undergone a minimally invasive surgical mitral valve repair because of a flail leaflet of the segments segment 2 of the posterior mitral valve leaflet (P2)/segment 3 of the posterior mitral valve leaflet (P3) 4 years before. DIAGNOSES: Transesophageal echocardiography identified a relapse of severe mitral valve regurgitation. The recurring regurgitant jet was caused by a flail leaflet due to newly ruptured native chords. INTERVENTIONS: After discussion in an interdisciplinary heart team, we performed a minimally invasive off-pump redo procedure applying the NeoChord device under three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiographic guidance. OUTCOMES: The echocardiographic result with only trivial residual mitral regurgitation as well as the further clinical course of the patient were favorable. LESSONS: As redo surgery after minimally invasive mitral valve repair is challenging, the NeoChord device represents a novel treatment option that does not require cardiopulmonary bypass.

RESUMO

This position statement is an update to the 2011 consensus statement of the Austrian Society of Cardiology (ÖKG) and the Austrian Society of Cardiac Surgery (ÖGTHG) for transfemoral transcatheter aortic valve implantation.Due to a number of recently published studies, broadening of indications and recommendations of medical societies and our own national developments, the ÖKG and the ÖGHTG wish to combine the 2017 ESC/EACTS guidelines for the management of valvular heart disease with a national position paper and to focus on certain details for the application in Austria. Thus, this position statement serves as a supplement and further interpretation of the international guidelines.

BACKGROUND: Degenerative aortic valve disease accounts for 10-20% of all cardiac surgical procedures. The impact of pre-existing comorbidities on the outcome of patients undergoing surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) needs further research. METHODS: The IMPACT registry is a non-interventional, prospective, open-label, multicenter, international registry with a follow-up of 5 years to assess the impact of pre-existing comorbidities of patients undergoing SAVR with the INSPIRIS RESILIA aortic valve on outcomes. IMPACT will be conducted across 25 sites in Austria, Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland and intends to enroll approximately 500 patients. Patients will be included if they are at least 18 years of age and are scheduled to undergo SAVR with the INSPIRIS RESILIA Aortic Valve with or without concomitant ascending aortic root replacement and/or coronary bypass surgery. The primary objective is to determine all-cause mortality at 1, 3, and 5 years post SAVR. Secondary objectives include cardiac-related and valve-related mortality and structural valve deterioration including hemodynamics and durability, valve performance and further clinical outcomes in the overall study population and in specific patient subgroups characterized by the presence of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, metabolic syndrome and/or chronic inflammation. DISCUSSION: IMPACT is a prospective, multicenter European registry, which will provide much-needed data on the impact of pre-existing comorbidities on patient outcomes and prosthetic valve performance, and in particular the performance of the INSPIRIS RESILIA, in a real-world setting. The findings of this study may help to support and expand appropriate patient selection for treatment with bioprostheses. TRIAL REGISTRATION: ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT04053088 .
