RESUMO

Diet-related diseases impact populations across the globe. While intertemporal preferences-a fundamental preference for the distribution of benefits across time-have been used to explain low-quality food choices, the recent literature proposes another cause: inattention to the future implications (or opportunity costs) of the options faced. Food choices tend to become habitual to conserve cognitive resources, rather than carefully modeling future health impacts. Both low discount rates for future benefits and attention to future health impacts predict healthier decisions. While intertemporal preferences are stable, attention may provide an opportunity to intervene in the decision process to promote healthier decisions. In this study, we test the impact of a simple message that highlights health during food choice on the healthiness of the foods chosen and on health consideration and intertemporal preferences. Our results show that actively considering health outcomes and lower discount rates lead to healthier food choices. We find that messaging increases the consideration of health outcomes during food choice but does not affect intertemporal preferences, suggesting that simple prompts may be an effective way to promote decisions balancing short- and long-term benefits by drawing attention to the overlooked opportunity costs of choices.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Active health is a new concept, model, and system to maintain the state of whole-person health. In the context of the increasingly serious health problems of primary and secondary school teachers, it is of great significance to explore the relationship between physical activity and primary and secondary school teachers' health based on the active health perspective. METHODS: The survey involving 741 primary and secondary school teachers across representative provinces in China utilized the International Physical Activity Scale, Body Imagery State Scale, and General Self-Efficacy Scale. Data analysis employed SPSS 25.0 and Amos 24.0 software. RESULTS: While no significant gender disparities were observed in body image and self-efficacy, age groups exhibited a bipartite and "V" shaped distribution. Female teachers demonstrated higher physical activity levels (2456.46) and superior physical fitness compared to males (2297.86). A positive correlation emerged between physical activity, body image, self-efficacy, and health status. Importantly, body image and self-efficacy partially mediated the relationship between physical activity and health status, accounting for 82.31% of the total effect. CONCLUSIONS: Primary and secondary school teachers have real problems such as teachers' physical activity is generally insufficient, teachers' body image status is generally poor, and teachers' self-efficacy is low; physical activity is an important factor in promoting primary and secondary school teachers' health status, and low, medium, and high levels of activity all have a promoting effect on the health of primary and secondary school teachers, and the more active primary and secondary school teachers are in terms of physical activity, the better their body image, self-efficacy, and health status are, and the more active primary and secondary school teachers are in terms of physical activity, the more positive the physical activity, self-efficacy, and health status are. The more physically active primary and secondary school teachers are, the better their physical intention, self-efficacy and health status are. SUGGESTIONS: improve the quality and effectiveness, promote the concept of active health among teachers; empower teachers, strengthen the institutional protection of teachers' health; reduce the burden and increase the quantity, and optimise the supply of health services for teachers.

RESUMO

Conductive ink deposited on flexible substrates through simple methods such as dyeing or printing is one of the most promising approaches for scalable fabrication of wearable electronics. However, excessive chemical additives or a complex preparation process has limited the practical applications of conductive inks. Herein, a highly stable and antibacterial AgNPs/CNT/rGO (SACR) conductive ink with the only assistance of sustainable silk sericin (SS) is developed through a green one-step strategy. SS functions as not only the reductant of silver ions and GO by donating electrons but also the dispersant and stabilizer of CNTs through strong noncovalent interactions. The universality of SACR ink is demonstrated by depositing on various flexible substrates through handwriting, screen-printing, and dyeing techniques; meanwhile, the mechanical reliability between SACR ink and substrates is validated by peeling, bending, and twisting measurements. In addition, the synergistic effects of the multilevel hierarchical 0D/1D/2D structure and abundant interfacial interactions in SACR ink are advantageous to enhancing sensing performance. An SACR ink-based strain sensor and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) sensor are fabricated to detect physical and biochemical indicators, demonstrating the enormous potential of SACR ink in intelligent wearables for active health monitoring in early care.

RESUMO

Health policies are regarded as a governance mechanism crucial for reducing health inequity and improving overall health outcomes. Policies that address chronic conditions or health inequity suggest a governance shift toward active health over past decades. However, the current literature in health policy largely focused on some specific health policy changes and their tangible outcomes, or on specific inequality of health policies in gender, age, racial, or economic status, short of comprehensively responding to and addressing the shift. This is exacerbated further by a common confusion that equates health policy with health care policy, which has been burdened by increased population ageing, growing inequalities, rising expenditures, and growing social expectations. This study conducted a narrative literature review to comprehensively and critically analyze the most current knowledge on health policy in order to help us establish a theoretical framework on active health governance. The comprehensive framework proposed in this paper identifies the main elements of a well-defined active health governance and the interactions between these elements. The proposed framework is composed of four elements (governance for health, social determinants of health, lifestyle determinants of health, and health system) and three approaches (whole-of-government approach, whole-of-society approach, and lifespan/life-course approach) that are dynamically interacted to achieve two active health outcomes (health equity and health improvement). The framework provides a conceptual solution to the issues of current literature on health policy and practically serves as a new guide for health policymaking.

RESUMO

Wireless technology has been widely used in medical devices and has brought convenience to medical care. However, wireless medical devices face risks such as data security and radio frequency interference. This study highlights safety and effectiveness evaluation of wireless medical devices, and discusses technical characteristics and regulation requirements, providing references for industry development and regulation.
