BACKGROUND: Many disease processes are influenced by circadian clocks and display ~24-hour rhythms. Whether disruptions to these rhythms increase stroke risk is unclear. We evaluated the association between 24-hour rest-activity rhythms, stroke risk, and major poststroke adverse outcomes. METHODS AND RESULTS: We examined ~100 000 participants from the UK Biobank (aged 44-79 years; ~57% women) assessed with actigraphy (6-7 days) and 5-year median follow-up. We derived (1) most active 10-hour activity counts across the 24-hour cycle and the timing of its midpoint timing; (2) the least active 5-hour count and its midpoint; (3) relative amplitude; (4) interdaily stability; and (5) intradaily variability, for stability and fragmentation of the rhythm. Cox proportional hazard models were constructed for time to (1) incident stroke (n=1652) and (2) poststroke adverse outcomes (dementia, depression, disability, or death). Suppressed relative amplitude (lowest quartile [quartile 1] versus the top quartile [quartile 4]) was associated with stroke risk (hazard ratio [HR], 1.61 [95% CI, 1.35-1.92]; P<0.001) after adjusting for demographics. Later most active 10-hour activity count midpoint timing (14:00-15:26; HR, 1.26 [95% CI, 1.07-1.49]; P=0.007) also had higher stroke risk than earlier (12:17-13:10) participants. A fragmented rhythm (intradaily variability) was also associated with higher stroke risk (quartile 4 versus quartile 1; HR, 1.26 [95% CI, 1.06-1.49]; P=0.008). Suppressed relative amplitude was associated with risk for poststroke adverse outcomes (quartile 1 versus quartile 4; HR, 2.02 [95% CI, 1.46-2.48]; P<0.001). All associations were independent of age, sex, race, obesity, sleep disorders, cardiovascular diseases or risks, and other comorbidity burdens. CONCLUSIONS: Suppressed 24-hour rest-activity rhythm may be a risk factor for stroke and an early indicator of major poststroke adverse outcomes.

Daily energy expenditure (DEE) is the result of decisions on how to allocate time among activities (resting, commuting, and foraging) and the energy costs of those activities. Dynamic body acceleration (DBA), which measures acceleration associated with movement, can be used to estimate DEE. Previous studies of DBA-DEE correlations in birds occurred on species foraging below their thermoneutral zone, potentially decoupling the DBA-DEE relationship. We used doubly-labelled water (DLW) to validate the use of DBA on plunge-diving seabirds, Peruvian boobies (Sula variegata), foraging in waters above their thermoneutral zone (>19 °C). Mass-specific DEEDLW in boobies was 1.12 kJ/d/g, and higher in males than in females. DBA alone provided the best fitting model to estimate mass-specific DEEDLW compared to models partitioned per activity and time-budget models. Nonetheless, the model parametrizing activity at and away of their onshore breeding colony was the most parsimonious model (r=0.6). This r value, although high, is lower than all other avian studies, implying that temperature is not the main cause of DBA-DEE decoupling in birds. Time at the colony (∼80% of the day) was the largest contributor to DEE as it was the most time-consuming activity and involved nest defense. However, foraging was the most power-consuming activity (4.6 times higher activity-specific metabolic rate than resting at the colony), and commuting-flight was higher than in other gliding seabirds. In short, DBA alone can act as a proxy for DEE, opening avenues to measure the conservation energetics of this seabird in the rapidly-changing Peruvian Humboldt Current System.

Background: Childhood hearing loss is a common chronic condition that may have a broad impact on children's communication and motor and cognitive development, resulting in functional challenges and decreased quality of life (QoL). Objectives: This pilot study aimed to compare executive functions (EFs) as expressed in daily life and QoL between deaf and hard-of-hearing (D/HH) children and children with typical hearing. Furthermore, we examined the relationship between EFs and QoL in D/HH children. Methods: The participants were 76 children aged 7-11 yr: 38 D/HH and 38 with typical hearing. Parents completed the Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function (BRIEF) and Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL), while the child performed a shopping task in the virtual action planning supermarket (VAP-S) to reflect the use of EFs in daily activity. Results: D/HH children showed significantly poorer EFs (as measured by BRIEF and VAP-S) and reduced QoL. Difficulties in EFs were correlated with lower QoL. BRIEF scores were significant predictors of QoL domains. Conclusions: Difficulties in EFs may characterize children with D/HH and reduce their QoL. Therefore, EFs should be screened and treated. VAP-S and BRIEF are feasible tools for evaluating EFs that reflect children's challenges due to EF difficulties in real-life contexts.

BACKGROUND: The interaction between physical activity, skeletal muscle health, and adiposity has been explored in normal weight and overweight/obesity grouped together; however, the overall risks associated with being overweight are less than those observed with obesity and can be confounded by disparities in both sex and race. Thus, the present study sought to investigate the intricate interplay of daily physical activity and skeletal muscle oxidative capacity (SMOC) in overweight and obesity, while exploring how sex and race impact this dynamic relationship. METHODS: One hundred and forty participants were grouped by body mass index (BMI) as overweight (n = 73; BMI >25-<30 kg/m2) or obese (n = 67; BMI ≥30 kg/m2). SMOC was assessed using near-infrared spectroscopy and daily physical activity was assessed for 7 days using accelerometry. RESULTS: Overweight individuals exhibited a higher (p = 0.004) SMOC and engaged in more (p = 0.007) vigorous physical activity compared to obese individuals. In addition, SMOC was lower (p = 0.005) in obese non-Hispanic Black (NHB) men compared to overweight NHB men. No relationships between physical activity and SMOC were observed. CONCLUSION: Physical activity is not associated with differences in SMOC in overweight and obesity. Obese individuals engage in less vigorous physical activity and exhibit lower SMOC compared to overweight individuals and these differences are emphasised in NHB men.

Visual impairment due to ophthalmological diseases significantly affects functional activity in everyday life, since good eyesight is crucial in daily activities. Data from 837 respondents were studied, allowing for analysis of such medical and demographic indicators as age, gender, level of education, visual acuity arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus. To measure functional status, the main activities in daily life (ADL) and instrumental activities in daily life (IADL) were evaluated using a modified version of the Katz scale and the IADL OARS scale. Statistical methods of Mantel-Hansel Chi-squared analysis were used to assess differences in the prevalence of functional blindness and visual deficit. The study showed that medical and demographic factors have a relatively smaller impact on vision deficiency compared to functional blindness, with age being a significant factor in both cases. Among the medical and demographic factors, the age of patients, as well as diabetes mellitus, significantly increase the development of visual deficiency and functional blindness. Functional blindness, in comparison with visual deficiency, causes more significant restrictions on activities in everyday life and instrumental activities in everyday life, and also causes dependence on help from others.

BACKGROUND: Altered gait could influence knee joint moment magnitudes and cumulative damage over time. Gait modifications have been shown to reduce knee loading in people with knee osteoarthritis during walking, although this has not been explored in multiple daily activities. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of different foot orientations on knee loading during multiple daily activities in people with and without knee osteoarthritis. METHODS: Thirty people with knee osteoarthritis and twenty-nine without (control) performed walking, stair ambulation and sit-to-stand across a range of foot progression angles (neutral, toe-in, toe-out and preferred). Peak knee adduction moment, knee adduction moment impulse and knee pain were compared across a continuous range of foot orientations, between activities, and groups. FINDINGS: Increased foot progression angle (more toe-in) reduced 1st peak knee adduction moment across all activities in both knee osteoarthritis and control (P < 0.001). There was a greater reduction in knee adduction moment in the control group during walking and stair ambulation (P ≤ 0.006), where the knee osteoarthritis group already walked preferably less toe-out than the control group. Under preferred condition, stair descent had the greatest knee loading and knee pain compared to other activities. INTERPRETATION: Although increased foot progression angle (toward toe-in) appeared to be more effective in reducing knee loading for all activities, toe-in modification might not benefit stair ambulation. Future gait modification should likely be personalised to each patient considering the individual difference in preferred gait and knee alignment required to shift the loading medially or laterally.

Portable devices like accelerometers and physiological trackers capture movement and biometric data relevant to sports. This study uses data from wearable sensors to investigate deep learning techniques for recognizing human behaviors associated with sports and fitness. The proposed CNN-BiGRU-CBAM model, a unique hybrid architecture, combines convolutional neural networks (CNNs), bidirectional gated recurrent unit networks (BiGRUs), and convolutional block attention modules (CBAMs) for accurate activity recognition. CNN layers extract spatial patterns, BiGRU captures temporal context, and CBAM focuses on informative BiGRU features, enabling precise activity pattern identification. The novelty lies in seamlessly integrating these components to learn spatial and temporal relationships, prioritizing significant features for activity detection. The model and baseline deep learning models were trained on the UCI-DSA dataset, evaluating with 5-fold cross-validation, including multi-class classification accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The CNN-BiGRU-CBAM model outperformed baseline models like CNN, LSTM, BiLSTM, GRU, and BiGRU, achieving state-of-the-art results with 99.10% accuracy and F1-score across all activity classes. This breakthrough enables accurate identification of sports and everyday activities using simplified wearables and advanced deep learning techniques, facilitating athlete monitoring, technique feedback, and injury risk detection. The proposed model's design and thorough evaluation significantly advance human activity recognition for sports and fitness.

Background: During COVID-19 lockdowns, older adults' engagement in daily activities was severely affected, causing negative physical and mental health implications. Technology flourished as a means of performing daily activities in this complex situation; however, older adults often struggled to effectively use these opportunities. Despite the important role of older adults' social environments-including their families and health professionals-in influencing their technology use, research into their unique perspectives is lacking. Objective: This study aimed to explore the daily activity performance, health, and technology use experiences of healthy independent Israeli adults (aged ≥65 years) during COVID-19 from a 3-dimensional perspective: older adults, older adults' family members, and health professionals. Methods: Nine online focus groups, averaging 6-7 participants per group, were conducted with older adults, family members, and health professionals (N=59). Data were analyzed using thematic analysis and constant comparative methods. Results: The intertwining of daily activity performance and health emerged as a central theme, with differences between the groups. Older adults prioritized their self-fulfilling routines based on motivation and choice, especially in social-familial activities. In contrast, family members and health professionals focused on serious physical and mental health COVID-19-related consequences. A consensus among all three groups revealed the meaningful role of technology use during this period in bridging functional limitations. Participants delved into technology's transformative power, focusing on the need for technology to get engaged in daily activities. Conclusions: This study illustrates the profound interplay between daily activity performances, physical and mental health, and technology use, using a 3-dimensional approach. Its focus on technology's uses and benefits sheds light on what older adults need to increase their technology use. Interventions for improving digital activity performance can be tailored to meet older adults' needs and preferences by focusing on motivational and preference-related activities.

INTRODUCTION: The PedHAL questionnaire is employed in measuring the activities of haemophilia children. The PedHALshort was developed in 2022 to determine the most relevant item for the assessment. Haemo-QoL questionnaire assesses the quality of life of haemophilia children. AIM: Determine the validity and reliability of the PedHALshort Indonesia language version compared to the Haemo-QoL in the Indonesian population. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Jakarta, Indonesia. The subjects were children (4-16 years old) with moderate or severe haemophilia A or B with repeated joint bleeding. The daily activity was assessed using the PedHALshorts and Haemo-QoL. The validity and reliability were tested. The validity was determined with Pearson correlation test, construct validity was assessed using convergent and discriminant validity. The Spearman correlation was used to determine which domains of Haemo-QoL correlated with PedHALshort. The reliability was analyzed using test-retest reliability. Cronbach's α was used to determined internal consistency. RESULTS: Fifty children were included in the study (78% haemophilia A, 70% severe group). All domains were valid (r > .284). The convergent validity test showed PedHALshort had a moderate negative correlation with physical health and sports school domain of Haemo-QoL (r = -.479, p < .001). The discriminant validity test showed the PedHALshort demonstrated a moderate negative correlation with physical health (r = -.585), view (r = -.590), sport school domain (r = -.430) in severe haemophilia subjects. The internal consistency of the PedHALshort questionnaire was high (Cronbach's α of .85 (.74-.92)). CONCLUSION: The PedHALshort is valid and reliable, hence, it can be used to measure the functional physical activity of children with haemophilia.

There is limited knowledge regarding people with intellectual disability and their occupations in Sweden. The aim of the study was to examine young adults with intellectual disability who after secondary school participate in disability day programs (daily activity), with a focus on characteristics and longitudinal analyses of movements between occupations. The study used a national register of 26,908 people with intellectual disability, of which 13,128 individuals (48.8%) participated in daily activity. The group had slightly more men than women, many had attended individual programs in school, and significant associations were found between background factors and participating in daily activity. Proportions in daily activity remained stable over time; however, some individuals transitioned to employment or no known occupation. The study presents national and longitudinal understanding, highlighting the dominance of daily activity as an occupation. Further research is needed to increase knowledge on meaningful occupations for people with intellectual disability.

BACKGROUND: Globally, heart failure (HF) affects more than 64 million people, and attempts to reduce its social and economic burden are a public health priority. Interventions to support people with HF to self-manage have been shown to reduce hospitalizations, improve quality of life, and reduce mortality rates. Understanding how people self-manage is imperative to improve future interventions; however, most approaches to date, have used self-report methods to achieve this. Wearable cameras provide a unique tool to understand the lived experiences of people with HF and the daily activities they undertake, which could lead to more effective interventions. However, their potential for understanding chronic conditions such as HF is unclear. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to determine the potential utility of wearable cameras to better understand the activities of daily living in people living with HF. METHODS: The "Seeing is Believing (SIB)" study involved 30 patients with HF who wore wearable cameras for a maximum of 30 days. We used the E-Myscéal web-based lifelog retrieval system to process and analyze the wearable camera image data set. Search terms for 7 daily activities (physical activity, gardening, shopping, screen time, drinking, eating, and medication intake) were developed and used for image retrieval. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to compare the number of images retrieved using different search terms. Temporal patterns in daily activities were examined, and differences before and after hospitalization were assessed. RESULTS: E-Myscéal exhibited sensitivity to specific search terms, leading to significant variations in the number of images retrieved for each activity. The highest number of images returned were related to eating and drinking, with fewer images for physical activity, screen time, and taking medication. The majority of captured activities occurred before midday. Notably, temporal differences in daily activity patterns were observed for participants hospitalized during this study. The number of medication images increased after hospital discharge, while screen time images decreased. CONCLUSIONS: Wearable cameras offer valuable insights into daily activities and self-management in people living with HF. E-Myscéal efficiently retrieves relevant images, but search term sensitivity underscores the need for careful selection.

The relationship between the early-age activity of Mediterranean fruit flies (medflies) or other fruit flies and their lifespan has not been much studied, in contrast to the connections between lifespan and diet, sexual signaling, and reproduction. The objective of this study is to assess intra-day and day-to-day activity profiles of female Mediterranean fruit flies and their role as biomarker of longevity as well as to explore the relationships between these activity profiles, diet, and age-at-death throughout the lifespan. We use advanced statistical methods from functional data analysis (FDA). Three distinct patterns of activity variations in early-age activity profiles can be distinguished. A low-caloric diet is associated with a delayed activity peak, while a high-caloric diet is linked with an earlier activity peak. We find that age-at-death of individual medflies is connected to their activity profiles in early life. An increased risk of mortality is associated with increased activity in early age, as well as with a higher contrast between daytime and nighttime activity. Conversely, medflies are more likely to have a longer lifespan when they are fed a medium-caloric diet and when their daily activity is more evenly distributed across the early-age span and between daytime and nighttime. The before-death activity profile of medflies displays two characteristic before-death patterns, where one pattern is characterized by slowly declining daily activity and the other by a sudden decline in activity that is followed by death.

We conducted a questionnaire survey with sports pharmacists, who engage in anti-doping, to elucidate the activities and challenges they face in their daily work. A total of 218 responses were obtained with the cooperation of the four prefectural pharmacists' associations. We found that 46.8% of respondents had consultations for medication doping concerns once a year or less, while 17.0% reported these multiple times per year. 83.9% of respondents indicated that connections among sports pharmacists would be beneficial, whereas 41.3% had communication with sports pharmacists they were acquainted with. In free text responses, we found challenges experienced were a lack of practical experience, the necessity of increased skills, the lack of cooperation among sports pharmacists and between sports pharmacists and sports organizations, and low awareness of their presence. Regarding future plans, 93.6% indicated an intention to renew certification. 64.2% of respondents were interested in networking events with staff, such as coaches or trainers and 48.6% were interested in regular consultations at training venues. Our findings suggest that in order to expand the anti-doping activities of sports pharmacists, networking opportunities among sports pharmacists and platforms for collaboration with sports organizations should be considered.

Crosslinking plays an important role in collagen-based tissues since it affects mechanical behavior and tissue metabolism. Aging and diabetes affect the type and density of crosslinking, effectively altering tissue properties. However, most studies focus on these effects under large stress rather than daily activities. We focus on the deformation mechanisms and structural change at the binding sites for integrins, proteoglycans, and collagenase in collagen fibrils using a fully atomistic model. We show that high-connectivity enzymatic crosslinking (our "HC" model, representing normal tissues) and advanced-glycation end-products (our "Glucosepane" model, which increase in diabetes) result in uniform deformation under daily activity, but low-connectivity enzymatic crosslinking (our "LC" model, representing aging tissues) does not. In particular, the HC model displays more sliding, which may explain the ability of healthy tissues to absorb more strain energy. In contrast, AGEs induce instability in the structures near the binding sites, which would affect the tissue metabolism of the collagen molecule. Our results provide important insights into the molecular mechanisms of collagen and a possible explanation for the role of crosslinking in tissues undergoing daily activity.

Introduction Earlier research has shown an association between pain intensity and everyday activities in adults. However, it is vital to examine the relationship within the context of Saudi people who have knee osteoarthritis. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the connection between pain intensity and daily activities involving the lower and upper limbs among patients with knee osteoarthritis in Saudi Arabia. Methods This study enrolled 209 individuals aged 55 years and above who were diagnosed with radiographic knee osteoarthritis by physicians from five hospitals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between March 2016 and March 2017. Participants were divided into two groups based on their pain intensity, measured using the visual analog scale. The first group included 141 individuals with mild or moderate pain, while the second group comprised 68 individuals with severe pain. The study assessed the physical functioning of these individuals by evaluating their ability to perform daily activities involving the lower and upper limbs, using the Physical Functioning Subscale of the 36-item Short Form Health Survey, which includes 10 items. Results Adjusted logistic regression analysis revealed that individuals experiencing severe pain related to knee osteoarthritis were more likely to encounter difficulties in climbing several flights of stairs (odds ratio [OR] = 1.19, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.09-1.29), and one flight of stairs (OR = 1.19, 95% CI = 1.06-1.34), with challenges in bending, kneeling, or stooping (OR = 1.14, 95% CI = 1.05-1.23), walking more than one mile (OR = 1.15, 95% CI = 1.06-1.25), walking several blocks (OR = 1.17, 95% CI = 1.08-1.27), and walking one block (OR = 1.19, 95% CI = 1.06-1.34) than those with mild or moderate pain. Conclusion Our study results highlight the significant impact of severe pain on activities like climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, stooping, and walking longer distances among people with knee osteoarthritis in Saudi Arabia.

Animal activity patterns are highly variable and influenced by internal and external factors, including social processes. Quantifying activity patterns in natural settings can be challenging, as it is difficult to monitor animals over long time periods. Here, we developed and validated a machine-learning-based classifier to identify behavioural states from accelerometer data of wild spotted hyenas (Crocuta crocuta), social carnivores that live in large fission-fusion societies. By combining this classifier with continuous collar-based accelerometer data from five hyenas, we generated a complete record of activity patterns over more than one month. We used these continuous behavioural sequences to investigate how past activity, individual idiosyncrasies, and social synchronization influence hyena activity patterns. We found that hyenas exhibit characteristic crepuscular-nocturnal daily activity patterns. Time spent active was independent of activity level on previous days, suggesting that hyenas do not show activity compensation. We also found limited evidence for an effect of individual identity on activity, and showed that pairs of hyenas who synchronized their activity patterns must have spent more time together. This study sheds light on the patterns and drivers of activity in spotted hyena societies, and also provides a useful tool for quantifying behavioural sequences from accelerometer data.

BACKGROUND: Stroke is a leading cause of disability among adults worldwide. A timely structured follow-up tool to identify patients' rehabilitation needs and develop patient-tailored rehabilitation regimens to decrease disability is largely lacking in current stroke care. The overall purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a novel digital follow-up tool, Rehabkompassen®, among persons discharged from acute care settings after a stroke. METHODS: This multicentre, parallel, open-label, two-arm pragmatic randomized controlled trial with an allocation ratio of 1:1 will be conducted in Sweden. A total of 1106 adult stroke patients will have follow-up visits in usual care settings at 3 and 12 months after stroke onset. At the 3-month follow-up, participants will have a usual outpatient visit without (control group, n = 553) or with (intervention group, n = 553) the Rehabkompassen® tool. All participants will receive the intervention at the 12-month follow-up visit. Feedback from the end-users (patient and health care practitioners) will be collected after the visits. The primary outcomes will be the patients' independence and social participation at the 12-month visits. Secondary outcomes will include end-users' satisfaction, barriers and facilitators for adopting the instrument, other stroke impacts, health-related quality of life and the cost-effectiveness of the instrument, calculated by incremental cost per quality-adjusted life year (QALY). DISCUSSION: The outcomes of this trial will inform clinical practice and health care policy on the role of the Rehabkompassen® digital follow-up tool in the post-acute continuum of care after stroke. Background: As the population of older adult in China keeps growing, the degree of aging is becoming increasingly serious and the health of older adults is a growing concern. Comparing the personal characteristics and health levels of urban and rural older adults and determining the relationship between these factors are of great significance in maintaining their health. In addition, exploring how these relationships differ between urban and rural areas is important. Method: This study conducted a literature review to examine the impact of various factors on the physical and mental health of older adults in urban and rural areas in China. Moreover, based on cross-sectional data from the 2017 Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS), urban-rural differences in the factors' degree of influence on the perceived health of older adults were studied using multiple logistic regression. Results: Regular physical exercise had a powerful protective effect on urban older adults' physical and mental health, whereas regular participation in social activities had a positive impact on rural older adults' health. Low income, low educational level, low social trust, lack of a partner, and having more than one child negatively affected the physical health of rural older people. Low socioeconomic status had a negative impact on rural people's health both in mind and body. Overall, the rural adults' health status was found to be relatively low and deserves more attention. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that older people's physical and mental health levels can be significantly affected by the frequency of daily activities and individual and family characteristics. Furthermore, urban-rural differences were observed. These findings could provide feasible suggestions for governments, communities, and older adults' family members to help alleviate health inequality.

The tea leafhopper, Empoasca onukii, relies on substrate-borne vibrations for sexual communication and is mainly controlled with chemical pesticides, which poses risks to the environment and food safety. Based on previous studies, we conducted a series of behavioral assays by simultaneous observation of vibration signals and movement to investigate the mating and post-copulation behavior of tea leafhoppers. During mating, the activity of E. onukii was restricted to dawn and dusk and concentrated on the sixth or seventh mature leaf below the tea bud. By comparing the time spent in locating females among different males, the timely reply of females was the key factor affecting mating success. Empoasca onukii females mated only once in their lives, while males could mate multiple times. Male rivalry behavior involved two distinct strategies. The rivals could send disruptive pulses to overlap the male calling signals, locate the courting males, and drive them away after contact. Some rivals could emit mating disruption signals (MDSs) to interrupt the ongoing identification duet and establish their own mating communication. Both identification and location duets could be interrupted by playback of MDSs, which is essential to create effective synthetic signals to disrupt mating communication of E. onukii. Our study clarified the spatial and temporal distribution of E. onukii in mating and the function of MDSs, which will be essential to develop future vibrational mating disruption techniques for E. onukii and its energy-efficient application in the field.

In this paper, we propose the notification optimization method by providing multiple alternative times as a reminder for a forecasted activity with and without probabilistic considerations for the activity that needs to be completed and needs notification. It is important to consider various factors when sending notifications to people after obtaining the results of the forecasted activity. We should not send notifications only when we have forecasted results because future daily activities are unpredictable. Therefore, it is important to strike a balance between providing useful reminders and avoiding excessive interruptions, especially for low probabilities of forecasted activity. Our study investigates the impact of the low probability of forecasted activity and optimizes the notification time with reinforcement learning. We also show the gaps between forecasted activities that are useful for self-improvement by people for the balance of important tasks, such as tasks completed as planned and additional tasks to be completed. For evaluation, we utilize two datasets: the existing dataset and data we collected in the field with the technology we have developed. In the data collection, we have 23 activities from six participants. To evaluate the effectiveness of these approaches, we assess the percentage of positive responses, user response rate, and response duration as performance criteria. Our proposed method provides a more effective way to optimize notifications. By incorporating the probability level of activity that needs to be done and needs notification into the state, we achieve a better response rate than the baseline, with the advantage of reaching 27.15%, as well as than the other criteria, which are also improved by using probability.
