RESUMO

AIMS: To systematically evaluate and analyse literature concerning the factors influencing the implementation of clinical practice guidelines related to enteral nutrition in the adult intensive care unit. BACKGROUND: Guidelines serve as crucial tools for guiding clinical practice. However, a significant gap persists between current clinical practice and guidelines pertaining to enteral nutrition. It is essential to identify the reasons behind this disparity to foster clinical transformation. METHODS: A mixed-methods systematic review. DATA SOURCES: A systematic search was conducted across PubMed, Embase, Medline, Cochrane, PsycINFO and CNKI databases to identify impediments and facilitators to the implementation of ICU clinical practice guidelines related to enteral nutrition. The types of studies included quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods studies. The search spanned from January 2003 to January 2024 and was updated in May 2024. The quality assessment of the included literature was conducted using the Mixed-Methods Study Evaluation Tool (MMAT). Data analysis was performed using a data-based convergent integration approach. The protocol for this study was prospectively registered (PROSPERO2023, CRD42023483287). RESULTS: Twenty papers were finally included, and 65 findings were extracted, integrating a total of three categories, Category 1: healthcare provider factors, including three sub-themes: knowledge of guideline-related knowledge and awareness of guideline application; social/professional roles and identity domains; beliefs, attitudes and self-efficacy; collaboration, Category 2: practice environments, including two sub-themes: environmental factors and resource areas; systems and behavioural norms, Category 3: patient values and nutritional support preferences including two sub-themes: patient disease status and value orientation. CONCLUSION: Healthcare professionals should analyse obstacles and facilitators to guideline implementation from multiple perspectives, strengthen healthcare collaboration, improve education and training systems, correct misperceptions and increase awareness of evidence-based practice.

Objective: To investigate the current situation of olfactory dysfunction in patients after endoscopic transsphenoidal resection of pituitary tumors, and analyze its influencing factors, to provide references for clinical nursing and rehabilitation. Methods: A cross-sectional study design and convenience sampling method were used to investigate 158 patients with pituitary tumors treated by endoscopic transsphenoidal pituitary tumor resection in the Department of Neurosurgery of three Grade-A general hospitals in Sichuan Province from January 2022 and June 2023. The olfactory function of patients was evaluated 1 week after surgery, and the general clinical data and olfactory related data of patients were collected, and the influencing factors of olfactory disorder were analyzed by logistic regression. Results: The incidence of olfactory dysfunction was 73.42%. analysis revealed that the formation of blood scabs, nasal cavity adhesion, cerebrospinal fluid leakage and operation time were independent risk factors for olfactory dysfunction in patients after transsphenoidal pituitary tumor resection (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The incidence of olfactory dysfunction is high in patients after endoscopic transsphenoidal resection of pituitary tumors, suggesting that medical staff should pay close attention to and identify patients with olfactory dysfunction based on the guidance of disease knowledge and skills, develop targeted nursing interventions, and promote the improvement of patients' olfactory function and quality of life.

Background: The coordinative relationship between medical treatment and the economy is an important part of promoting the sustainable and healthy development of a social economy, and it is conducive to promoting the coordinated development of the two systems. Methods: Based on constructing a comprehensive evaluation index system for the relationship between traditional Chinese medicine medical services and economic development, the entropy method, coupling coordination model, and Tobit model are used to calculate the comprehensive development level, coupling coordination degree, and influencing factors of the two systems in 31 provinces of China from 2015 to 2021. Suggestions are proposed for the coordinated development of traditional Chinese medicine medical services, and economy. Results: The results showed that the development level of traditional Chinese medicine was higher than that of social and economic development, the relative development gap between the two systems was gradually narrowed, and the coupling coordination degree increased steadily; however, the regional differences were large. The relative development level and coupling coordination degree of each region show a development pattern of eastern > central > western > northeast; the coupling coordination degree of the two systems in the spatial region was positively correlated and was enhanced year by year. From the perspective of influencing factors, the level of economic development is the decisive factor in the coupling and coordination between traditional Chinese medicine medical treatment and the social economy. Factors such as human capital and health level in traditional Chinese medicine have an inhibitory effect on the coordinated development of the two systems. Conclusion: So, China should focus on optimizing the regional allocation of traditional Chinese medicine medical personnel, improving the quality of medical services, and enhancing the health level of medical personnel.

To protect the safety of food bought from the online catering sector, the former State Food and Drug Administration of China issued two separate regulations in 2016 and 2017. Independently, the Shanghai government formulated local regulations, including the Shanghai Online Catering Service Supervision and Management Measures, to strengthen food safety supervision in this megacity with the largest catering sector in China. This study explored factors that influence consumer perceptions of the performance of online catering food safety regulations using survey data from 1050 respondents collected in 2019. The results indicate that consumers believe that Shanghai's online catering industry has improved by varying degrees in terms of food freshness, ingredient traceability, foreign matter control, food temperature control, internal packaging hygiene and environmental protection, and satisfaction with food safety. The factors that influenced the listed features include the number and effectiveness of government-issued regulations regarding the online catering sector, effectiveness of ordering platform food safety regulations, employee training frequency, employee food safety awareness, delivery box cleanliness and courier personal hygiene, consumer trust in ordering platform services, and consumer confidence in government supervision. These factors significantly and positively affected the consumers' perceptions of the performance of food safety regulations in the online catering sector.

BACKGROUND: Stroke is the leading cause of acquired disability and the second leading cause of death worldwide. Its rate of incidence, disability, mortality, and recurrence is high, and the patients experience various symptoms of discomfort, which not only affect their rehabilitation function but also reduce their ability to perform daily activities and their quality of life. Nowadays, with the improvement of China's medical standards, patients are increasingly attentive to their quality of life and health status. However, diagnostic techniques and effective treatments for patients with stroke are still limited but urgently required. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to evaluate the quality of life during hospitalization using a stroke patient-reported outcomes (PROs) scale and additionally to recognize potential factors and risk indicators that may impact recurrent events, facilitating early intervention measures. METHODS: This is a registry-based, retrospective observational cross-sectional study on patients with stroke. A convenient sampling method was used to select various indicators of patients. The Stroke-PRO scale was then used to assess patients' conditions across physical, psychological, social, and therapeutic domains. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied to identify factors influencing stroke PROs, while correlation analysis was conducted to explore the relationship between these outcomes and blood lipid levels. RESULTS: The mean Stroke-PRO score in this study was 4.09 (SD 0.29) points. By multiple linear regression analysis, residence, occupation, physical exercise, Barthel index, Braden scale, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale scores at admission, and stroke type were the risk factors for reported outcomes of patients with stroke (P<.05). Correlation analysis showed that serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein were negatively correlated with Stroke-PRO scores in patients with stroke (P<.05), while high-density lipoprotein was positively correlated with patients with stroke (P<.05). The 95% CI was -0.31 to -0.03 for triglyceride, 0.17-0.44 for high-density lipoprotein, -0.29 to -0.01 for cholesterol, -0.30 to -0.02 for low-density lipoprotein, and -0.12 to 0.16 for blood glucose. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with stroke have a low level of health, and their reported outcomes need to be improved. Accordingly, nursing staff should pay attention to the quality of life and blood lipid indexes of patients with stroke, actively assess their actual health status, and take early intervention measures to promote their recovery.

This study aimed to investigate the current hope levels in patients with primary liver cancer by analyzing the risk indicators of hope levels, constructing and validating a novel hope score-based predictive model. A total of 206 patients with primary liver cancer admitted to the hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery department of a tertiary hospital from October 2020 to June 2021 were included. The Herth Hope Index was utilized to assess hope levels, and based on the questionnaire results, the patients were categorized into low-hope (≤ 30 points) and high-hope (> 30 points) groups. Single-factor analysis and logistic multivariate regression analysis were conducted to explore the factors influencing hope levels in patients with primary liver cancer. A nomogram was plotted, and a risk prediction model for hope levels in these patients was developed. The predictive performance of the nomogram model was evaluated using calibration plots, the Hosmer-Lemeshow test, and other relevant assessments. Total of 206 patients participated in the questionnaire survey, with 82 patients (39.81%) categorized as belonging to the low-hope group. The results of the single-factor analysis showed statistically significant differences (all P < 0.05) in marriage status, education level, residence, occupation, family monthly income, reason for hospitalization or outpatient visit, pressure caused by the disease on the family, history of cirrhosis, and level of social support between the two groups. These variables were subsequently included in the logistic multivariate regression model. The results of the regression analysis indicated that marriage status, residence, family monthly income, and level of social support were independent risk factors. These four influencing factors were transformed into a visual predictive model, which yielded an area under the ROC curve of 0.931 (95% CI 0.899-0.963) and demonstrated model significance (Hosmer-Lemeshow test: χ2 = 4.008, P = 0.856, P > 0.05). The observed and expected values generated by the Hosmer-Lemeshow test were plotted as a scatter plot with a fitted linear trend, showing good consistency between the predictive model and actual risk. The constructed predictive model developed in this study exhibited good predictive capability for assessing the hope levels of patients with primary liver cancer. This model can assist clinical staff in rapidly identifying the psychological risk of low hope levels in patients, thereby providing valuable insights for the timely implementation of proactive management measures.

The spatial pattern of toxic metals plays a major role in watershed diffuse metal non-point source pollution, particularly during stream sediment transportation at hills mines. This study investigated a typical hilly mine area to quantitatively analyze the characteristics, sensitivities, and influencing factors of toxic elements transported in stream sediments through field research and Geodetector models. The results showed that the spatial patterns of toxic elements in stream sediment transportation at the hills mine area were significantly influenced by water erosion and sulfate. Water erosion and sulfate promoted the transport differences of stream sediment metals from upstream to downstream at the hills mine area. Arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and antimony in the stream sediments at the hills mine exhibited higher coefficients of variation (101 % to 397 %) than those in plain and basin topographies. Potential ecological risks of arsenic and cadmium were assessed as high-risk levels, at 19 % and 64 %, respectively. Metal import in the midstream sediments of the hills mine area was accelerated by strong water erosion. Sulfate and dissolved organic matter (DOM) were highly enriched in stream sediments, with sulfate showing a strong correlation with toxic metals (24 %). Positive responses were observed between arsenic, mercury, antimony, and sulfate in sediments, with sensitivities of 41 %, 25 %, and 16 %, respectively, while cadmium was associated with DOM, with a sensitivity of 46 %. Importantly, water erosion interactions with functional type of mine significantly influenced on the spatial transportation patterns of toxic metals in stream sediments. The interactive influences of sulfate combined with bicarbonate on arsenic, mercury, and antimony and bicarbonate combined with DOM on cadmium were enhanced compared to individual factors (>20 %). This study elucidates the spatial patterns of metals during stream sediment transportation in hills mine and offers the novel insights for developing effective watershed metal management strategies in hilly mine environments.

In order to explore the spatial differentiation characteristics and variation law of soil Cd content in a high geological background area, 14 421 topsoil samples were collected from topsoil in the karst area of Guiyang City. Global Moran's I index, cold hot spot analysis, semi-variance function, and Kriging interpolation were used to reveal the spatial structure and distribution law of soil Cd content. The influence of environmental factors on soil Cd content and its main controlling factors were analyzed through analysis of variance and geographic detector. The results showed that: ① The Cd content of karst surface soil in Guiyang varied from 0.03 to 1.36 mg·kg-1, with an average of 0.440 mg·kg-1, which was 1.77 times and 5.95 times the Guizhou soil Cd background value and Chinese soil Cd background value, respectively. The over-standard rate of soil Cd was 30%, which was 4.29 times that of 7% of soil Cd in China. ② There was a significant spatial positive correlation of soil Cd content, showing an aggregation trend in the global space, whereas in the local region, the northeast and southwest were hot spots, and the north was a cold spot. The nugget coefficient of soil Cd content was 10.37%, indicating that soil Cd was mainly affected by structural factors. ③ In terms of spatial distribution, soil Cd showed different accumulation trends. In some massive soils, such as Xifeng County, Xiuwen County, Qingzhen City, Huaxi District, and Nanming District, the soil ω(Cd)was less than 0.3 mg·kg-1. The soil ω(Cd)was between 0.3 and 0.6 mg·kg-1,and soil Cd in Baiyun District, Wudang District, Guanshan Lake area, and Yunyan area as a whole lied within this range. The soil ω(Cd)between 0.6 and 0.9 mg·kg-1 was concentrated in the southwest of Qingzhen City, the south of Huaxi District, and the north of Kaiyang County, whereas soil ω(Cd) between 0.9 and 1.2 mg·kg-1 was mainly concentrated in the southwest of Qingzhen City. The extreme value of soil Cd content ( > 1.2 mg·kg-1) was mostly distributed in Kaiyang County, Xiuwen County, Qingzhen City, and Huaxi District. ④ The results of analysis of variance and geo-detector showed that different environmental factors had significant effects on the spatial differentiation of soil Cd, but their explanatory power on soil Cd content varied: stratum (0.176 5) > soil type (0.026 0) > organic matter (0.025 1) > altitude (0.010 5) > parent rock (0.007 3) > land use (0.006 4) > pH (0.001 3), and the interaction between stratum and arbitrary environmental factors was the greatest. Therefore, stratum was the main factor affecting the spatial differentiation of soil Cd content.

Biological soil crusts (BSCs) are often referred to as the "living skin" of arid regions worldwide. Yet, the combined impact of BSCs on soil carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and enzyme activities remains not fully understood. This study identified, screened and reviewed 71 out of 2856 literature sources to assess the responses of soil C, N, P and enzyme activity to BSCs through a meta-analysis. The results indicated that BSC presence significantly increased soil C, N, P and soil enzyme activity, and this increasing effect was significantly influenced by the types of BSCs. Results from the overall effect showed that soil organic carbon (SOC), total nitrogen (TN), available nitrogen (AN), total phosphorus (TP), and available phosphorus (AP) increased by 107.88%, 84.52%, 45.43%, 27.46%, and 54.71%, respectively, and four soil enzyme activities (Alkaline Phosphatase, Cellulase, Sucrase, and Urease) increased by 93.65-229.27%. The highest increases in SOC, TN and AN content occurred in the soil covered with lichen crusts and moss crusts, and significant increases in Alkaline Phosphatase and Cellulase were observed in the soil covered with moss crusts and mixed crusts, suggesting that moss crusts can synergistically enhance soil C and N pool and enzyme activity. Additionally, variations in soil C, N, P content, and enzyme activity were observed under different environmental settings, with more pronounced improvements seen in coarse and medium-textured soils compared to fine-textured soils, particularly at a depth of 5 cm from the soil surface. BSCs in desert ecosystems showed more significant increases in SOC, TN, AN, and Alkaline Phosphatase compared to forest and grassland ecosystems. Specifically, BSCs at low altitude (≤500 m) with an annual average rainfall of 0-400 mm and an annual average temperature ≤ 10 °C were the most conducive to improving soil C, N, and P levels. Our results highlight the role of BSCs and their type in increasing soil C, N, P and enzyme activities, with these effects significantly impacted by soil texture, ecosystem type, and climatic conditions. The implications of these findings are crucial for soil enhancement, ecosystem revitalization, windbreak, and sand stabilization efforts in the drylands of China.

Ginkgo biloba L. is a relict plant endemic to China that is commonly considered a "living fossil". It contains unique medicinal compounds that play important roles in its response to various stresses and help maintain human health. Ginkgo terpenoids are known to be important active ingredients but have received less attention than flavonoids. Hence, this review focuses on recent progress in research on the pharmacological effects of ginkgo terpenoid and the bioactivities of different terpenoid monomers. Many key structural genes, enzyme-encoding genes, transcription factors, and noncoding RNAs involved in the ginkgo terpenoid pathway were identified. Finally, many external factors (ecological factors, hormones, etc.) that regulate the biosynthesis and metabolism of terpenoids were proposed. All these findings improve the understanding of the biosynthesis, accumulation, and medicinal functions of terpenoids. Finally, this review includes an in-depth discussion regarding the limitations of terpenoid-related studies and potential future research directions.

Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV), a DNA virus belonging to the genus Begomovirus, significantly impedes the growth and development of numerous host plants, including tomatoes and peppers. Due to its rapid mutation rate and frequent recombination events, achieving complete control of TYLCV proves exceptionally challenging. Consequently, identifying resistance mechanisms become crucial for safeguarding host plants from TYLCV-induced damage. This review article delves into the global distribution, dispersal patterns, and defining characteristics of TYLCV. Moreover, the intricate interplay between TYLCV and various influencing factors, such as insect vectors, susceptible host plants, and abiotic stresses, plays a pivotal role in plant-TYLCV interactions. The review offers an updated perspective on recent investigations focused on plant response mechanisms to TYLCV infection, including the intricate relationship between TYLCV, whiteflies, and regulatory factors. This comprehensive analysis aims to establish a foundation for future research endeavors exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying TYLCV infection and the development of plant resistance through breeding programs.

With the ongoing advancement in oil exploration, microemulsion, as an innovative oil displacement method, has garnered considerable attention owing to its exceptional physicochemical properties in enhancing crude oil recovery. As such, this study initially delineates the fundamental concepts, classifications, formation mechanisms, advantages, and preparation methodologies of microemulsions. Subsequently, it introduces the selection criteria for microemulsion components, followed by an elucidation of the characterization methods for microemulsions based on these criteria. Furthermore, it examines the factors influencing the efficacy of microemulsions in enhancing oil recovery through two distinct methods, along with the effects of various formulation microemulsions under laboratory and oilfield conditions. Additionally, it outlines prospects, challenges, and future development trends pertaining to microemulsions.

INTRODUCTION: Aims of the study were to investigate the related factors of urinary incontinence after transurethral holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) and to provide guidance for clinical urinary control of HoLEP. METHODS: The clinical data of 548 patients who underwent HoLEP were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were followed up for the occurrence of urinary incontinence in the short term (2 weeks), medium term (3 months), and long term (6 months) after HoLEP. RESULTS: Among the 548 benign prostatic hyperplasia patients, 79 cases (14.42%) had urinary incontinence at 2 weeks, 19 cases (3.47%) at 3 months, and 2 cases (0.36%) at 6 months after surgery. Logistic regression analysis showed that age, prostate volume, diabetes mellitus, operation time, prostate tissue weight, and histological prostatitis were risk factors for recent urinary incontinence (p < 0.05). Age, diabetes, and operation time were risk factors for mid-term urinary incontinence (p < 0.05). The incidence of long-term urinary incontinence was low and no risk factor analysis was performed. CONCLUSIONS: For good urinary control after HoLEP, in addition to surgery-related factors such as surgical skills, proficiency, and precise anatomy, patients' risk factors should also be paid attention to in order to improve postoperative urinary control more effectively and reduce the incidence of urinary incontinence.

Brominated flame retardants (BFRs) exhibit excellent flame retardant properties and are widely used in various industries. Among the common BFRs, tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) and hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDs) pose substantial ecological and human health risks due to their extensive application and long-range transport. This study established 131 sample collection sites along the coast of the South China Sea (SCS) in Guangdong Province to assess the concentration, distribution, inventory, and ecological risk of TBBPA and HBCDs in surface sediments. The concentrations of TBBPA in SCS sediments ranged from < limit of detection (LOD) to 80 µg/kg dry weight (dw), and those of HBCDs from < LOD to 18 µg/kg dw. The diastereoisomers of HBCDs (α-, ß-, and γ-HBCD) in the sediment samples accounted for 36 %, 13 %, and 51 %, respectively. Human activities, particularly those associated with nearby electronic waste disassembly and textile and garment industries, considerably influenced the dispersion of TBBPA and HBCDs. The inventories of TBBPA and HBCDs in Guangdong Province's SCS were estimated to be 3.2 × 105 kg and 7.2 × 104 kg, respectively. The average risk quotient values ranged from <0.01 to 0.016, indicating a low to negligible environmental risk. This study provides deeper insights into the distribution and scientific significance of HBCDs and TBBPA in SCS sediment samples, elucidates the current state of BFR contamination, and offers recommendations for future research on environmental safety and human health in the region.

This study delves into the TB incidence in Chinese mainland during 2014-2021, aiming to gain deeper insights into their epidemiological characteristics and explore macro-level factors to enhance control and prevention. METHODS: TB incidence data in Chinese mainland from 2014 to 2021 were sourced from the National Notifiable Disease Reporting System (NNDRS). A two-stage distributed lag nonlinear model (DLNM) was constructed to evaluate the lag and non-linearity of daily average temperature (℃, Atemp), average relative humidity (%, ARH), average wind speed (m/s, AWS), sunshine duration (h, SD) and precipitation (mm, PRE) on the TB incidence. A spatial panel data model was used to assess the impact of demographic, medical and health resource, and economic factors on TB incidence. RESULTS: A total of 6,587,439 TB cases were reported in Chinese mainland during 2014-2021, with an average annual incidence rate of 59.17/100,000. The TB incidence decreased from 67.05/100,000 in 2014 to 46.40/100,000 in 2021, notably declining from 2018 to 2021 (APC = -8.87%, 95% CI: -11.97, -6.85%). TB incidence rates were higher among males, farmers, and individuals aged 65 years and older. Spatiotemporal analysis revealed a significant cluster in Xinjiang, Qinghai, and Xizang from March 2017 to June 2019 (RR = 3.94, P < 0.001). From 2014 to 2021, the proportion of etiologically confirmed cases increased from 31.31% to 56.98%, and the time interval from TB onset to diagnosis shortened from 26 days (IQR: 10-56 days) to 19 days (IQR: 7-44 days). Specific meteorological conditions, including low temperature (< 16.69℃), high relative humidity (> 71.73%), low sunshine duration (< 6.18 h) increased the risk of TB incidence, while extreme low wind speed (< 2.79 m/s) decreased the risk. The spatial Durbin model showed positive associations between TB incidence rates and sex ratio (ß = 1.98), number of beds in medical and health institutions per 10,000 population (ß = 0.90), and total health expenses (ß = 0.55). There were negative associations between TB incidence rates and population (ß = -1.14), population density (ß = -0.19), urbanization rate (ß = -0.62), number of medical and health institutions (ß = -0.23), and number of health technicians per 10,000 population (ß = -0.70). CONCLUSIONS: Significant progress has been made in TB control and prevention in China, but challenges persist among some populations and areas. Varied relationships were observed between TB incidence and factors from meteorological, demographic, medical and health resource, and economic aspects. These findings underscore the importance of ongoing efforts to strengthen TB control and implement digital/intelligent surveillance for early risk detection and comprehensive interventions.

Focusing on the situation of the low helium content in natural gas resource in China and the high cost of helium extraction, the OPEX prediction model of helium extraction that based on the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) is proposed. This method applies ASPEN-HYSYS software to simulate the helium extraction process flow for a given product composition, pressure, and temperature; Applying the Design Expert module for Response Surface Methodology(RSM) parameter design, combined with OPEX of existing projects, determine the key influencing factors and upper and lower limits of OPEX, and obtaining the corresponding OPEX for different parameter values; Applying the Box Behnken Design (BBD) principle to optimize the helium extraction process parameters of RSM, based on fitting results and parameter significance verification of second-order regression function, the OPEX prediction model is built.This method is applied to a domestic helium extraction project, and the unit helium extraction cost is between 100 and 119.52 yuan/m3, IRR is 13.37%. The result shows the project has economic benefit, and the method presents a good perspective application.

As one of the most important vegetables and oils consumed globally, cruciferous foods are appreciated for their high nutritional value. However, there is no comprehensive knowledge to sufficiently unravel the "flavor mystery" of cruciferous foods. The present review provides a comprehensive literature on the recent advances regarding the contribution of glucosinolates (GSL) degradation products to cruciferous foods odor, which focuses on key GSL degradation products contributing to distinct odor of cruciferous foods (Brassica oleracea, Brassica rapa, Brassica napus, Brassica juncea, Raphanus sativus), and key factors affecting GSL degradation pathways (i.e., enzyme-induced degradation, thermal-induced degradation, chemical-induced degradation, microwave-induced degradation) during different processing and cooking. A total of 93 volatile GSL degradation products (i.e., 36 nitriles, 33 isothiocyanates, 3 thiocyanates, 5 epithionitriles, and 16 sulfides) and 29 GSL (i.e., 20 aliphatic, 5 aromatic, and 4 indolic) were found in generalized cruciferous foods. Remarkably, cruciferous foods have a distinctive pungent, spicy, pickled, sulfur, and vegetable odor. In general, isothiocyanates are mostly present in enzyme-induced degradation of GSL and are therefore often enriched in fresh-cut or low-temperature, short-time cooked cruciferous foods. In contrast, nitriles are mainly derived from thermal-induced degradation of GSL, and are thus often enriched in high-temperature, long-time cooked cruciferous foods.


Processing and cooking can cause degradation of glucosinolates and formation of volatiles.Structure­odor relationship of glucosinolates degradation products is discussed.Nitriles, isothiocyanates, and sulfides play an important role in cruciferous foods odor.Both enzyme- and thermal-induced degradation of glucosinolates is strongly pH-dependent.

AIM: Hypothermia poses a threat to the health and lives of newborns. Therefore, it is essential to identify the factors that influence neonatal hypothermia and provide targeted intervention suggestions for clinical practice to reduce its occurrence. METHODS: We conducted a literature search to identify factors influencing neonatal hypothermia and performed a meta-analysis to determine the prevalence of neonatal hypothermia and its associated factors. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) was used to assess the quality of cohort and case-control studies, while the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) was used to evaluate the quality of cross-sectional studies. RESULTS: Eighteen studies involving 44 532 newborns from 13 countries were included. The incidence of neonatal hypothermia was 52.5% (95% CI: 0.37, 0.68). Factors such as no skin-to-skin contact, prematurity, low birth weight, delayed breastfeeding, asphyxiation and resuscitation after birth, low APGAR score, not wearing a cap, and caesarean section were found to affect neonatal hypothermia. CONCLUSION: Multiple factors influence neonatal hypothermia, and clinicians can utilise these factors to develop targeted intervention measures to prevent and reduce the incidence of neonatal hypothermia.

Background: With the advancement of prenatal diagnosis technology, the detection rate of fetal abnormalities continues to increase, imposing a significant burden on both society and families. A retrospective analysis of essential information about pregnant women, such as their pregnancy history and delivery details, is crucial for understanding the primary factors that influence pregnancy outcomes in women with fetal abnormalities. This analysis is of great significance for improving the level of pregnancy management and outcomes in pregnant women with fetal abnormalities. Objective: To retrospectively analyze the pregnancy outcomes of women with fetal abnormalities and explore the factors that influence these outcomes. Methods: Pregnant women's pregnancy outcomes were collected from the medical information system and through telephone follow-ups. The chi-square test and logistic regression were used to analyze the factors influencing pregnancy outcomes. Results: Among 265 pregnant women diagnosed with fetal abnormalities, 190 chose to continue the pregnancy, while 75 chose to terminate it. Pregnant women with multiple fetal abnormalities (OR = 3.774, 95% CI [1.640-8.683]) were more likely to choose termination of pregnancy (TOP), and pregnant women who were advised to terminate their pregnancy or make a careful choice were more likely to terminate the pregnancy (OR = 41.113, 95% CI [11.028-153.267]). Conclusion: The number of organs involved in fetal abnormalities and treatment recommendations were identified as the primary factors influencing pregnancy outcomes. Improving awareness of maternal health care during pregnancy, early pregnancy screening technology, and a multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment approach are of great significance in assisting pregnant women in making informed decisions and improving fetal prognosis.
