We report a case series of 8 patients, presenting with a congenital sinus in the region of the sternoclavicular joint. This rare malformation has only been reported in the Japanese dermatological literature under the name of "congenital dermoid fistula of the anterior chest region". It has to be distinguished from other congenital anomalies and requires complete excision.

Amniotic rupture sequence is associated with defects of variable severity and at different sites. Analysis of the literature reveals difficulties in the classification, which, in addition to uncertainties surrounding its causes, make diagnosis of unusual presentations rather difficult. We present an unusual case of a thoracoabdominal restrictive band from the umbilicus to a low-set posterior hairline with severe trapezius contracture, sternoclavicular dislocation, and no associated craniofacial or limb abnormalities. Amnion rupture sequence with adhesion band seems to be the most probable cause of this rare combination of anomalies.

The sternoclavicular (SC) joint can be affected by a wide variety of pathologic conditions. Imaging is usually needed for diagnosis and staging. Although the use of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging has become indispensable in the evaluation of most joints, MR has received little attention in SC joint evaluation. Recently, however, it has been shown that detailed MR images of the normal SC joint can be obtained. This pictorial essay explores the differential diagnosis of the abnormal SC joint and helps to determine the role of MR imaging in the SC joint imaging algorithm.
