ABSTRACT
Maintaining remission and improving quality of life for individuals with schizophrenia can encourage them to return to work, participate in volunteer opportunities, and establish healthy intimate relationships. The purpose of the current review was to explore the impacts of using relapse prevention interventions on maintaining remission and minimizing relapse rate for individuals with schizophrenia. A scoping review was performed using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews guidelines to screen 134 studies published between 2010 and 2020. A total of 14 articles met eligibility criteria. Included studies showed that intervention strategies tailored to meet the needs of individuals with schizophrenia must be developed and applied in different psychiatric settings to maintain remission and minimize relapse rate.
