ABSTRACT

Academics undergo stress, which negatively affects their performance and management does not seem to provide adequate organizational support for people suffering from occupational stress. This data captures eustress among university academic staff and coping strategies to improve performance. Previous studies on stress among academics focused on their experience of distress, with little attempt to explore eustress. particularly in the Nigerian context. A mixed method approach was adopted to elicit information from the sampled 444 respondents and twelve in-depth interviews were also conducted. Descriptive and inferential research methods were used for the analysis. The quantitative data were analyzed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), while the qualitative data were subjected to manual thematic analysis.

ABSTRACT

This article presented data on the effect of training and development on academic staff creativity using Covenant University in Nigeria as the case study. The article was a based on a descriptive quantitative research design using Survey method. The population of the study included all academic staff in the selected university with a total of 535 faculties. A sample size of 226 faculties was selected. Reliability and validity procedures were confirmed. Data was analyzed with the use of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).Regression analysis was employed as statistical tool of analysis. The field data set is made publicly available to enable critical or extended analysis.

ABSTRACT

The data depicted on customer loyalty in the healthcare sector was concentrated on the variation in perception across demographic characteristics on the subject matter. The data focused on selected private hospitals adjudged to be the best four in Lagos State, Nigeria. In this data article, the variables for customer loyalty were categorized into (repeat purchase, brand insistence, switching restraint and customer satisfaction) for healthcare service sector in Nigeria. The data made used of the personal profile of the respondents as the independent variables to establish a link between the aims of the study and the demographic characteristics via the quantitative method. Data were gathered from 365 respondents through the use of structured questionnaire. The Kruskal Wallis Test was carried out to investigate and identify what accounted for the variation in the customers' perception on the subject matter. The SPSS (22) was utilized to analysed the data. This dataset is presented openly for easy accessibility for a greater critical examination.

ABSTRACT

Traditional methods of teaching entrepreneurship in universities involves more theoretical approaches which are less effective in motivating considerations for an entrepreneurship career. This owes to the fact that such techniques essentially make students develop a dormant attitude rather than active participation. Expert views suggest that experiential entrepreneurship teaching methods in universities which involve practical activities and active participation can be considered salient to students' development of entrepreneurial interest an business startup potentials. This present study presents data on the extent to which experiential teaching methods in entrepreneurship adopted by Nigerian universities stimulate students' entrepreneurial interest and business startups. Data have been gathered following a descriptive cross-sectional quantitative survey conducted among university students (N = 600) of four selected institutions in Nigeria offering a degree programme in entrepreneurship. Hierarchical Multiple Regression Analysis was used in confirming the hypothesis proposed in the study using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22.The findings from the analysis showed that the adoption of experiential practical activities considered as best practices in entrepreneurship teaching in Nigerian universities can stimulate students' interest and drive for engaging in business start-up activities even as undergraduates. The field data set is made extensively available to allow for critical investigation.

The main objective of this study was to present a data article that investigates the effect product features on firm's competitive advantage. Few studies have examined how the features of a product could help in driving the competitive advantage of a firm. Descriptive research method was used. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS 22) was engaged for analysis of one hundred and fifty (150) valid questionnaire which were completed by small business owners registered under small and medium scale enterprises development of Nigeria (SMEDAN). Stratified and simple random sampling techniques were employed; reliability and validity procedures were also confirmed. ABSTRACT

The aim of this research was to present a data article that identify the relationship between workforce diversity, job satisfaction and employee commitment among public healthcare workers in Nigeria. Copies of structured questionnaire were administered to 133 public healthcare workers from the Lagos state ministry of health in Nigeria. Using descriptive and structural equation modelling statistical analysis, the data revealed the relationship between workforce diversity and job satisfaction, workforce diversity and organisational commitment, and the role of job satisfaction on organisational commitment was also established.

ABSTRACT

Human capital is considered a major asset of any business. This is even more vital in a knowledge-driven economy, where non-visible factors and services are of increasingly significant. The focus of this study was to determine the impact of training assistance on the performance of SMEs in Lagos, Nigeria. Only few studies have investigated how training support programmes by government facilitate the performance of SMEs under Small and Medium Enterprises Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) in Nigeria. Descriptive research method was adopted for this study. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS 22) was used to analyse 203 copies of questionnaire retrieved. The reliability and validity of research instruments was also established. This data set indicated that training and development can facilitate innovative processes among SMEs owners to create economic, social values and remain globally competitive.
