PURPOSE: We retrospectively evaluated the characteristics of these patients and the effectiveness of ankle arthrodesis in the treatment of ankle arthritis caused by Kashin-Beck disease (KBD). METHODS: A retrospective study of KBD patients with ankle osteoarthritis who underwent ankle arthrodesis between December 2012 and January 2022 was performed. A total of 46 patients were included. The general characteristics, clinical manifestations and imaging features of the patients were recorded and summarized. measured using the VAS score, and ankle function was assessed by the AOFAS ankle-hindfoot score. RESULTS: Multiple subchondral cystic changes were found in 42(91.3%) patients. The VAS scores for both resting and weight-bearing conditions were 6.28 ± 1.30 vs. 2.09 ± 1.12 (P < .001) and 6.87 ± 1.01 vs. 2.17 ± 0.98 (P < .001), respectively. The AOFAS scores were 59.17 ± 5.50 and 88.39 ± 1.42, respectively (P < .001). CONCLUSIONS: The subchondral multiple cystic transformation of the ankle KBD has a certain suggestive role.Arthrodesis is an effective method to reduce ankle pain and improve ankle function in KBD patients with ankle osteoarthritis.

Oxidative stress-related cartilage degeneration, synovitis, and joint pain play vital roles in the progress of osteoarthritis (OA). Anti-oxidative stress agents not only prevent structural damage progression but also relieve OA-related pain. In this study, we investigated the therapeutic effect of methylene blue (MB), a classical and important anti-oxidant with strong neural affinity. Experimental OA was established in rats by radial transection of medial collateral ligament and medial meniscus (MCLT + MMT) of the right knee joint. The OA rats received intra-articular injection of MB (1 mg/kg) every week starting one week after surgery. We showed that MB administration exerted significant cartilage protection, synovitis inhibition as well as pain relief in OA rats. In human chondrocytes and fibroblast-like synoviocytes, MB significantly attenuated tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP)-induced inflammatory response and oxidative stress. We demonstrated that these effects of MB resulted from dual targets of important antioxidant enzymes, Nrf2 and PRDX1, which also mutually reinforcing and participated in an interaction. Furthermore, we found that calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), a neural inflammatory mediator, was accumulated around the vessel in synovium and subchondral bone in OA rats and in TBHP-treated primary cortical neurons; MB administration significantly inhibited CGRP expression through upregulation of Nrf2 and PRDX1. Taken together, these results suggest that MB ameliorates oxidative stress via Nrf2/PRDX1 regulation to prevent progression and relieve pain of OA.

In this study, an innovative sensor was designed to detect the key combustion parameters of the marine natural gas engine. Based on the ion current, any engine structurally modified was avoided and the real-time monitoring for the combustion process was realized. For the general applicability of the proposed sensor, the ion current generated by a high-energy ignition system was acquired in a wide operating range of the engine. It was found that engine load, excess air coefficient (λ) and ignition timing all generated great influence on both the chemical and thermal phases, which indicated that the ion current was highly correlated with the combustion process in the cylinder. Furthermore, the correlations between the 5 ion current-related parameters and the 10 combustion-related parameters were analyzed in detail. The results showed that most correlation coefficients were relatively high. Based on the aforementioned high correlation, the novel sensor used an on-line algorithm at the basis of neural network models. The models took the characteristic values extracted from the ion current as the inputs and the key combustion parameters as the outputs to realize the online combustion sensing. Four neural network models were established according to the existence of the thermal phase peak of the ion current and two different network structures (BP and RBF). Finally, the predicted values of the four models were compared with the experimental values. The results showed that the BP (with thermal) model had the highest prediction accuracy of phase parameters and amplitude parameters of combustion. Meanwhile, RBF (with thermal) model had the highest prediction accuracy of emission parameters. The mean absolute percentage errors (MAPE) were mostly lower than 0.25, which proved a high accuracy of the proposed ion current-based virtual sensor for detecting the key combustion parameters.

PURPOSE: There are few studies on the clinical outcomes of osteochondral autologous transplantation (OAT) harvesting from local talar non-weight-bearing articular facets for the treatment of osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLTs). The purpose of this study was to review the short- to midterm outcomes of our patients who were treated with OAT harvesting from ipsilateral talar articular facets for OLTs. METHODS: Between December 2010 and November 2018, 24 patients were enrolled in this study. There were 16 males and eight females with an average age of 39.1 years and a follow-up period of 50.9 months. The clinical results were evaluated according to the American Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) ankle-hindfoot score and the visual analogue scale (VAS) score. Pre-operative plain radiographs and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, post-operative radiographs, and X-ray and computed tomography (CT) scans at the last follow-up were observed. RESULTS: There was a significant improvement in the AOFAS score from 61.3 ± 19.0 pre-operatively to 84.9 ± 9.2 post-operatively (P < 0.001). The VAS score improved from 6.1 ± 2.3 to 2.0 ± 1.4 at the last follow-up (P < 0.001). Twenty-one patients (87.5%) were satisfied with their clinical results. By the last follow-up CT scan, there was bone cyst formation at the donor sites in three patients, at the recipient sites in five patients and at both sites in five patients. Two patients (8.3%) underwent re-operation with arthroscopic debridement because of medial gutter hypertrophic soft tissue impingement. CONCLUSION: OAT harvesting from the ipsilateral talar articular facet showed satisfactory results. The mean post-operative VAS score and AOFAS ankle-hindfoot score improved significantly. Post-operative impingement around the osteotomy site was the main complication and reason for re-operation after the index procedure. In addition, bone cysts at the recipient and/or donor site(s) were found with a large percentage under CT. Therefore, longer follow-up is necessary to determine the long-term clinical results for this technique.

BACKGROUND: Tau pathology is a hallmark of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other tauopathies. During disease progression, abnormally phosphorylated forms of tau aggregate and accumulate into neurofibrillary tangles, leading to synapse loss, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration. Thus, targeting of tau pathology is expected to be a promising strategy for AD treatment. METHODS: The effect of rutin on tau aggregation was detected by thioflavin T fluorescence and transmission electron microscope imaging. The effect of rutin on tau oligomer-induced cytotoxicity was assessed by MTT assay. The effect of rutin on tau oligomer-mediated the production of IL-1ß and TNF-α in vitro was measured by ELISA. The uptake of extracellular tau by microglia was determined by immunocytochemistry. Six-month-old male Tau-P301S mice were treated with rutin or vehicle by oral administration daily for 30 days. The cognitive performance was determined using the Morris water maze test, Y-maze test, and novel object recognition test. The levels of pathological tau, gliosis, NF-kB activation, proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1ß and TNF-α, and synaptic proteins including synaptophysin and PSD95 in the brains of the mice were evaluated by immunolabeling, immunoblotting, or ELISA. RESULTS: We showed that rutin, a natural flavonoid glycoside, inhibited tau aggregation and tau oligomer-induced cytotoxicity, lowered the production of proinflammatory cytokines, protected neuronal morphology from toxic tau oligomers, and promoted microglial uptake of extracellular tau oligomers in vitro. When applied to Tau-P301S mouse model of tauopathy, rutin reduced pathological tau levels, regulated tau hyperphosphorylation by increasing PP2A level, suppressed gliosis and neuroinflammation by downregulating NF-kB pathway, prevented microglial synapse engulfment, and rescued synapse loss in mouse brains, resulting in a significant improvement of cognition. CONCLUSION: In combination with the previously reported therapeutic effects of rutin on Aß pathology, rutin is a promising drug candidate for AD treatment based its combinatorial targeting of tau and Aß.

Background: Increased stress among medical personnel had been reported in previous virus outbreaks. The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) emerged in December 2019, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). No qualitative assessment has yet described the physical and mental health conditions of frontline medical personnel in the COVID-19 outbreaks. Methods: Here, 251 frontline medical personnel involved in COVID-19 missions completed electronic questionnaires, consisting of 31 categorical variables related to their physical and mental health status, medical history and environmental conditions. We constructed a correlation amongst these variables through pairwise Kendall rank correlation coefficient test. Then, clusters of highly correlated variables were identified using the leading eigenvector. Finally, we used the network and clusters to clarify the correlations amongst variables. Results: This qualitative study identified the six clusters. Cluster 1 was characterized by skin allergy. Cluster 2 was predominantly associated with anxiety. Cluster 3 consisted mostly of respiratory symptoms. The participants in cluster 4 had medical history. Cluster 5 and cluster 6 were characterized by disinfection and demography, respectively. Finally, we revealed three major findings. First, more than 80% of medical personnel worry about COVID-19-related infection and experience newly appearing anxiety (56.2%), airway or heart symptoms (34.3%) and skin allergies (20.3%). Second, COVID-19-related worry significantly associates with all variables in the anxiety and respiratory symptom clusters. Third, new-onset skin allergies did not associate with either disinfection or anxiety, but did associate with a previous history of allergies. Conclusions: COVID-19-related worry leads to physical and mental health problems amongst medical personnel. Effective responses and interventions could relieve a series of new-onset physical and mental health problems.

BACKGROUND Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most prevalent arrhythmia worldwide. Although it is not life-threatening, the accompanying rapid and irregular ventricular rate can lead to hemodynamic deterioration and obvious symptoms, especially the risk of cerebrovascular embolism. Our study aimed to identify novel and promising genes that could explain the underlying mechanism of AF development. MATERIAL AND METHODS Expression profiles GSE41177, GSE79768, and GSE14975 were acquired from the Gene Expression Omnibus Database. R software was used for identifying differentially expressed genes (DEGs), and Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analyses were subsequently performed. A protein-protein interaction network was constructed in Cytoscape software. Next, a least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) model was constructed and receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis was conducted to assess the specificity and sensitivity of the key genes. RESULTS We obtained 204 DEGs from the datasets. The DEGs were mostly involved in immune response and cell communication. The primary pathways of the DEGs were related to the course or maintenance of autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases. The top 20 hub genes (high scores in cytoHubba) were selected in the PPI network. Finally, we identified 6 key genes (FCGR3B, CLEC10A, FPR2, IGSF6, S100A9, and S100A12) via the LASSO model. CONCLUSIONS We present 6 target genes that are potentially involved in the molecular mechanisms of AF development. In addition, these genes are likely to serve as potential therapeutic targets.

Non-invasive continuous alcohol (ethanol) monitoring has potential applications in both population research and in clinical management of acute alcohol intoxication or chronic alcoholism. Current wearable monitors based on transdermal alcohol content (TAC) sensing have limited accessibility and blood alcohol content (BAC) quantification accuracy. Here we describe the development of a self-contained discreet wearable transdermal alcohol (TAC) sensor in the form of a wristband or armband. This sensor can detect vapor-phase alcohol in perspiration from 0.09 ppm (equivalent to 0.09 mg/dL sweat alcohol concentration at 25 °C under Henry's Law equilibrium) to over 500 ppm at one-minute time resolution. Additionally, a digital sensor was employed to monitor the temperature and humidity levels inside the sensing chamber. Two male human subjects were recruited to conduct studies with alcohol consumption using calibrated prototype TAC sensors to validate the performance. Our preliminary data demonstrated that, under well-controlled conditions, this sensor can acquire TAC curves at low doses (1-2 standard drinks). Moreover, TAC data for different doses can be easily distinguished. However, substantial interpersonal and intrapersonal variabilities in measurement data were also observed in experiments with less controlled conditions. Our observations suggest that perspiration rate might be an important contributing factor to these variabilities. Further studies with sufficient sample sizes are required to validate and characterize the impact of different perspiration rates on TAC sensors, which may inform more reproducible and accurate sensor designs in the future.

Glioma is a type of brain tumor that is common globally, and is associated with a variety of genetic changes. It has been reported that isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) is overexpressed in glioma and in HeLa cells. The lncRNA IDH1-AS1 is believed to interact with IDH1, and when IDH1-AS1 is overexpressed, HeLa cell proliferation is inhibited. However, the effects of IDH1-AS1 on glioma were relatively unknown. The results from this work show that IDH1-AS1 is downregulated in the glioma tissues. We used primary glioblastoma cell lines U251 and U87-MG to study the effects of IDH1-AS1 on glioma cell growth, in vitro and in vivo. We found that when IDH1-AS1 is overexpressed cell proliferation is inhibited, cell cycle is arrested at the G1 phase, and the protein expression levels of cyclinD1, cyclinA, cyclinE, CDK2, and CDK4 are decreased. We found that cell apoptosis was increased when IDH1-AS1 was overexpressed, as evidenced by increases in the levels of cleaved caspase-9 and -3. Conversely, knockdown of IDH1-AS1 promoted cell proliferation. Moreover, we proved that overexpression of IDH1-AS1 inhibits the tumorigenesis of U251 cells, in vivo. Furthermore, IDH1-AS1 did not affect IDH1 protein expression, but altered its enzymatic activities in glioma cells. Silencing of IDH1 reversed the effects of IDH1-AS1 upregulation on cell viability. Hence, our study provides first-hand evidence for the effects of lncRNA IDH1-AS1 on gliomas. Because overexpressing IDH1-AS1 inhibited cell growth, IDH1-AS1 could also be considered as a potential target for glioma treatment.

This paper presents a cloud-connected indoor air quality sensor system that can be deployed to patients' homes to study personal microenvironmental exposure for asthma research and management. The system consists of multiple compact sensor units that can measure residential NO2, ozone, humidity, and temperature at one-minute resolution and a cloud-based informatic system that acquires, stores, and visualizes the microenvironmental data in real-time. The sensor hardware can measure NO2 as low as 10 ppb and ozone at 15 ppb. The cloud informatic system is implemented using open-source software on Amazon Web Service for easy deployment and scalability. This system was successfully deployed to pediatric asthma patients' homes in a pilot study. In this study, we discovered that some families had short-term NO2 exposure higher than EPA's one-hour exposure limit (100 ppb), and NO2 micro-pollution episodes often arise from natural gas appliance usage such as gas stove burning during cooking. By combining the personalized air pollutant exposure measurements with the physiological responses from monitoring devices, patient diaries, or medical records, this system can potentially enable novel asthma research and personalized asthma management.

We present strategies to tune the redox properties of polyoxometalate clusters to enhance the electron-coupled proton-buffer-mediated water splitting process, in which the evolution of hydrogen and oxygen can occur in different forms and is separated in time and space. By substituting the heteroatom template in the Keggin-type polyoxometalate cluster, H6 ZnW12 O40 , it is possible to double the number of electrons and protonation in the redox reactions (from two to four). This increase can be achieved with better matching of the energy levels as indicated by the redox potentials, compared to the ones of well-studied H3 PW12 O40 and H4 SiW12 O40 . This means that H6 ZnW12 O40 can act as a high-performance redox mediator in an electrolytic cell for the on-demand generation of hydrogen with a high decoupling efficiency of 95.5 % and an electrochemical energy efficiency of 83.3 %. Furthermore, the H6 ZnW12 O40 cluster also exhibits an excellent cycling behaviour and redox reversibility with almost 100 % H2 -mediated capacity retention during 200 cycles and a high coulombic efficiency >92 % each cycle at 30 mA cm-2 .

Lithium metal anodes suffer from poor cycling stability and potential safety hazards. To alleviate these problems, Li thin-film anodes prepared on current collectors (CCs) and Li-free types of anodes that involve direct Li plating on CCs have received increasing attention. In this study, the atomic-scale design of Cu-CC surface lithiophilicity based on surface lattice matching of the bcc Li(110) and fcc Cu(100) faces as well as electrochemical achievement of Cu(100)-preferred surfaces for smooth Li deposition with a low nucleation barrier is reported. Additionally, a purposely designed solid-electrolyte interphase is created for Li anodes prepared on CCs. Not only is a smooth planar Li thin film prepared, but a uniform Li plating/stripping on the skeleton of 3D CCs is achieved as well by high utilization of the surface and cavities of the 3D CCs. This work demonstrates surface electrochemistry approaches to construct stable Li metal-electrolyte interphases towards practical applications of Li anodes prepared on CCs.

Lead poisoning is an important problem because of its serious effects on human health. Yet a solution is not available due to an incomplete understanding of the state of lead ions in blood. Since most blood lead binds to hemoglobin (Hb) in red blood cells, identifying and capturing lead-contaminated Hb in RBCs is important. Herein, a magnetic blood lead remover with hyperbranched poly(amidoamine)s (HPAM) as template/co-adsorbent and core-shell mesoporous structure was synthesized. Lead-containing Hb was selectively captured and then fixed by mesoporous channels. The magnetic separation technology was used to separate the magnetic remover from blood. A related blood lead clean-up apparatus was used to remove lead from the blood of a pig in vivo. Results of physical/chemical characterizations, biocompatibility experiments, animal tests, and theoretical simulation verify the safety and efficiency of this removal strategy and the high efficiency of the blood lead clean-up apparatus.

Investigations of the Ag (I)-substituted Keggin K3[H3AgIPW11O39] as a bifunctional Lewis acidic and basic catalyst are reported that explore the stabilization of Li2Sn moieties so that reversible redox reactions in S-based electrodes would be possible. Spectroscopic investigations showed that the Li2Sn-moieties can be strongly adsorbed on the {AgIPW11O39} cluster, where the Ag(I) ion can act as a Lewis acid site to further enhance the adsorption of the S-moieties, and these interactions were investigated and rationalized using DFT. These results were used to construct an electrode for use in a Li-S battery with a very high S utilization of 94%, and a coulometric capacity of 1580 mAh g-1. BACKGROUND Elderly patients with Ewing sarcoma have a very poor prognosis, and treatment remains a challenge. However, the outcomes and potential prognostic factors of elderly Ewing sarcoma patients are rarely documented. Therefore, we investigated the prognosis of this special cohort and determine independent prognostic factors. MATERIAL AND METHODS A cohort of Ewing sarcoma patients aged over 40 years from 1973 to 2015 was identified from the National Cancer Institute's Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. The Kaplan-Meier method and a Cox proportional hazard regression model were used for the prognostic analysis. RESULTS A total of 162 patients were included with a mean age of 53 years. The 5-year overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) rates of the entire group were 43.7% and 47.9%, respectively. The sex, location, tumor size, and radiation treatment had no effect on survival outcomes on univariate analysis. Tumor stage, surgery, and chemotherapy were significant indicators of both OS and CSS on multivariable analysis. CONCLUSIONS Surgery in combination with chemotherapy had a significant survival benefit in elderly Ewing sarcoma patients and should be recommended.

BACKGROUND: Several studies have reported that apolipoprotein A5 (APOA5) is involved in the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, no research has been performed regarding the association between APOA5 polymorphisms and the risk of NAFLD. This study aimed to explore the association between APOA5 gene polymorphisms and NAFLD in a Chinese Han population. METHODS: Genotypes of the SNPs (rs10750097, rs1263173, rs17120035, rs3135507 and rs662799) of APOA5 in 232 NAFLD patients and 188 healthy controls were determined using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis. Clinical characteristics were measured using biochemical methods. RESULTS: The five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (rs10750097, rs1263173, rs17120035, rs3135507 and rs662799) of APOA5 showed no significant association with NAFLD (P > 0.05). The rs10750097 with G allele showed a higher serum level of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) compared with C allele in overall series and NAFLD patients (P < 0.05). The rs1263173(A/A) carriers showed a higher level of glucose compared to the non-carriers in overall series (P < 0.05). The rs17120035(T/T) carriers showed a lower plasma TG level in overall series and NAFLD patients (P < 0.05), and the rs662799(G/G) carriers showed higher levels of plasma triglyceride (TG), ALP, and lower level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) compared to non-carriers in NAFLD patients (P < 0.05). No significant difference were observed on the clinic parameters of APOA5 rs3135507(T/T) carriers in both group of overall series and NAFLD patients (P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The five SNPs (rs10750097, rs1263173, rs17120035, rs3135507 and rs662799) of APOA5 gene are not associated with the risk of NAFLD in the Chinese Han population. The genotypes of rs10750097(G/G), rs1263173(A/A), rs17120035(T/T), and rs662799(G/G) performed a significant effect on clinic characteristics in overall series and NAFLD patients, indicating that these polymorphisms may be associated with NAFLD.

BACKGROUND: Cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) is the common cause of cognitive decline in the old population. MRI can be used to clarify its mechanisms. However, the surrogate markers of MRI for early cognitive impairment in SVD remain uncertain to date. We investigated the cognitive impacts of cerebral microbleeds (CMBs), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and brain volumetric measurements in a cohort of post-stroke non-dementia SVD patients. METHODS: Fifty five non-dementia SVD patients were consecutively recruited and categorized into two groups as no cognitive impairment (NCI) (n = 23) or vascular mild cognitive impairment (VaMCI) (n = 32). Detailed neuropsychological assessment and multimodal MRI were completed. RESULTS: The two groups differed significantly on Z scores of all cognitive domains (all p < 0.01) except for the language. There were more patients with hypertension (p = 0.038) or depression (p = 0.019) in the VaMCI than those in the NCI group. Multiple regression analysis of cognition showed periventricular mean diffusivity (MD) (ß = -0.457, p < 0.01) and deep CMBs numbers (ß = -0.352, p < 0.01) as the predictors of attention/executive function, which explained 45.2% of the total variance. Periventricular MD was the independent predictor for either memory (ß = -0.314, p < 0.05) or visuo-spatial function (ß = -0.375, p < 0.01); however, only small proportion of variance could be accounted for (9.8% and 12.4%, respectively). Language was not found to be correlated with any of the MRI parameters. No correlation was found between brain atrophic indices and any of the cognitive measures. CONCLUSION: Arteriosclerotic CMBs and periventricular white matter disintegrity seem to be independent MRI surrogated markers in the early stage of cognitive impairment in SVD.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common chronic liver disease which represents a wide spectrum of hepatic damage. Several studies have reported that NAFLD is a strong independent risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD). And patients with NAFLD are at higher risk and suggested undergoperiodic cardiovascular risk assessment. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is responsible for the main cause of death in patients with NAFLD, and is mostly influenced by genetic factors. Both NAFLD and CAD are heterogeneous disease. Common pathways involved in the pathogenesis of NAFLD and CAD includes insulin resistance (IR), atherogenic dyslipidemia, subclinical inflammation, oxidative stress, etc. Genomic characteristics of these two diseases have been widely studied, further research about the association of these two diseases draws attention. The gene polymorphisms of adiponectin-encoding gene (ADIPOQ), leptin receptor (LEPR), apolipoprotein C3 (APOC3), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPAR), sterol regulatory elementbinding proteins (SREBP), transmembrane 6 superfamily member 2 (TM6SF2), microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTTP), tumor necrosis factors-alpha (TNF-α) and manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) have been reported to be related to NAFLD and CAD. In this review, we aimed to provide an overview of recent insights into the genetic basis of NAFLD and CAD.

Near-infrared hyperspectral imaging technology combined with chemometrics was applied for rapid and non-invasive transgenic soybeans variety identification. Three different non-GMO parent soybeans(HC6, JACK, TL1)and their transgenic soybeans were chosen as the research object. The developed hyperspectral imaging system was used to acquire the hyperspectral images in the spectral range of 874~1 734 nm with 256 bands of soybeans, and the reflectance spectra were extracted from the region of interest (ROI) in the images. After eliminating the obvious noises, the moving average(MA)was applied as smooth pretreatment, and the wavelengths from 941~1 646 nm were used for later analysis. Partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA)was employed as pattern recognition method to class the three different non-GMO parent soybeans. The classification accuracy of both the calibration set and the prediction set were 97.50% and 100% for the HC6, 100% and 100% for the JACK, 96.25% and 92.50% for the TL1, which indicated that hyperspectral imaging technology could identify the varieties of the non-GMO parent soybeans. Then PLS-DA was applied to classify non-GMO parent soybean and its transgenic soybean cultivars for building discriminant models. For the full spectra, the classification accuracy of both the calibration set and the prediction set were 99.17% and 99.17% for the HC6 and its transgenic soybean cultivars, 87.19% and 81.25% for the JACK and its transgenic soybean cultivars, 99.17% and 98.33% for the TL1 and its transgenic soybean cultivars, respectively. The sensitive wavelengths were selected by x-loading weights, and the classification accuracy of the calibration set and prediction set of PLS-DA models based on sensitive wavelengths were 72.50% and 80% for the HC6 and its transgenic soybean cultivars, 80.63% and 79.38% for the JACK and its transgenic soybean cultivars, 85% and 85% for the TL1 and its transgenic soybean cultivars, respectively. These results showed that the pattern recognition for non-GMO parent soybean and their transgenic soybeans was feasible, and the selected sensitive wavelengths could be used for the pattern recognition of non-GMO parent soybeans and transgenic soybeans. The overall results indicated that it was feasible to use near-infrared hyperspectral imaging technology for the pattern recognition of the non-GMO parent soybeans varieties, non-GMO parent soybean and its transgenic soybeans. This study also provided a new alternative for rapid and non-destructive accurate identification of transgenic soybean.
