RESUMEN

How timely identification and determination of pathogen species in pathogen-contaminated foods are responsible for rapid and accurate treatments for food safety accidents. Herein, we synthesize four aggregation-induced emissive nanosilicons with different surface potentials and hydrophobicities by encapsulating four tetraphenylethylene derivatives differing in functional groups. The prepared nanosilicons are utilized as receptors to develop a nanosensor array according to their distinctive interactions with pathogens for the rapid and simultaneous discrimination of pathogens. By coupling with machine-learning algorithms, the proposed nanosensor array achieves high performance in identifying eight pathogens within 1 h with high overall accuracy (93.75-100%). Meanwhile, Cronobacter sakazakii and Listeria monocytogenes are taken as model bacteria for the quantitative evaluation of the developed nanosensor array, which can successfully distinguish the concentration of C. sakazakii and L. monocytogenes at more than 103 and 102 CFU mL-1, respectively, and their mixed samples at 105 CFU mL-1 through the artificial neural network. Moreover, eight pathogens at 1 × 104 CFU mL-1 in milk can be successfully identified by the developed nanosensor array, indicating its feasibility in monitoring food hazards.

RESUMEN

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a prevalent chronic ailment, and present therapeutic approaches are not always effective. This study aimed to find new drug targets for GERD and Barrett's esophagus (BE). We obtained genetic instruments for GERD, BE, and 2004 plasma proteins from recently published genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and Mendelian randomization (MR) was employed to explore potential drug targets. We further winnowed down MR-prioritized proteins through replication, reverse causality testing, colocalization analysis, phenotype scanning, and Phenome-wide MR. Furthermore, we constructed a protein-protein interaction network, unveiling potential associations among candidate proteins. Simultaneously, we acquired mRNA expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) data from another GWAS encompassing four different tissues to identify additional drug targets. Meanwhile, we searched drug databases to evaluate these targets. Under Bonferroni correction (P < 4.8 × 10-5), we identified 11 plasma proteins significantly associated with GERD. Among these, 7 are protective proteins (MSP, GPX1, ERBB3, BT3A3, ANTR2, CCM2, and DECR2), while 4 are detrimental proteins (TMEM106B, DUSP13, C1-INH, and LINGO1). Ultimately, C1-INH and DECR2 successfully passed the screening process and exhibited similar directional causal effects on BE. Further analysis of eQTLs highlighted 4 potential drug targets, including EDEM3, PBX3, MEIS1-AS3, and NME7. The search of drug databases further supported our conclusions. Our study indicated that the plasma proteins C1-INH and DECR2, along with 4 genes (EDEM3, PBX3, MEIS1-AS3, and NME7), may represent potential drug targets for GERD and BE, warranting further investigation.

RESUMEN

AIMS: A three-dimensional electroanatomic mapping system-guided transseptal puncture (3D-TSP), without fluoroscopy or echocardiography, has been only minimally reported. Indications for 3D-TSP remain unclear. Against this background, this study aims to establish a precise technique and create a workflow for validating and selecting eligible patients for fluoroless 3D-TSP. METHODS AND RESULTS: We developed a new methodology for 3D-TSP based on a unipolar electrogram derived from a transseptal needle tip (UEGM tip) in 102 patients (the derivation cohort) with intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) from March 2018 to February 2019. The apparent current of injury (COI) was recorded at the muscular limbus of the foramen ovalis (FO) on the UEGM tip (sinus rhythm: 2.57 ± 0.95 mV, atrial fibrillation: 1.92 ± 0.77 mV), which then disappeared or significantly reduced at the central FO. Changes in the COI, serving as a major criterion to establish a 3D-TSP workflow, proved to be the most valuable indicator for identifying the FO in 99% (101/102) of patients compared with three previous techniques (three minor criteria) of reduction in atrial unipolar or bipolar potential and FO protrusion. A total of 99.9% (1042/1043) patients in the validation cohort underwent successful 3D-TSP through the workflow from March 2019 to July 2023. Intracardiac echocardiography guidance was required for 6.6% (69/1042) of patients. All four criteria were met in 740 patients, resulting in a 100% pure fluoroless 3D-TSP success rate. CONCLUSION: In most patients, fluoroless 3D-TSP was successfully achieved using changes in the COI on the UEGM tip. Patients who met all four criteria were considered suitable for 3D-TSP, while those who met none required ICE guidance.

RESUMEN

It is of great importance to overcome potential incompatibility problems between dyestuffs and antibodies (mAbs) for extensive commercial application of a dyestuff-chemistry-based ultrafast colorimetric lateral flow immunoassay (cLFIA). Herein, inspired by traditional staining technologies, a basic dyestuff gallocyanine (GC)-assisted biogenic "potential scalpel"-based cLFIA (GC-ABPS-based cLFIA) by employing clenbuterol (CLE) as proof-of-concept was proposed to solve a high degree of incompatibility between the same potential dyestuffs and mAbs. Goat antimouse immunoglobulin (Ab2) could serve as the "potential scalpel" to form the positive potential value biomolecular network self-assemblers (BNSA) with anti-CLE mAbs (AbCLE) by noncovalent force. The cLFIA completed the entire detection process from de novo to detection results within 30 min thanks to the easy availability and ideal marking efficiency (≤1 min, saving 0.4-10 h) of GC. Encouragingly, the proposed ultrafast GC-ABPS-based cLFIA has also exhibited high sensitivity (0.411 ng mL-1) and low cost (300 times) compared with other cLFIAs. Also, the feasibility of the proposed cLFIA was demonstrated by detecting CLE in beef, pork ham, and skim milk. Finally, the proposed GC-ABPS-based cLFIA has broadened the application range of dyestuffs and provided an effective reference strategy for the application of dyestuffs in food safety monitoring.

RESUMEN

Expanding sensing modes and improving catalytic performance of nanozyme-based analytical chemistry are beneficial to realizing the desired biosensing of analytes. Herein, Schiff-base chemistry coupled with a novel catechol oxidase-like nanozyme (CHzyme) is designed and constructed, exhibiting two main advantages, including (1) improving catalytic performance by nearly 2-fold compared with only the oxidase-like role of CHzyme; (2) increasing the designability of the output signal by signal transduction of cascade reaction. Thereafter, the substrate sensing modes based on a cascade reaction between the CHzyme-catalyzed reaction and Schiff-base chemistry are proposed and comprehensively studied, containing catalytic substrate sensing mode, competitive substrate sensing mode, and generated substrate sensing mode, expecting to be employed in environmental monitoring, food analyses, and clinical diagnoses, respectively. More meaningfully, the generated substrate sensing mode is successfully applied to construct a cascade reaction coupling ratiometric fluorescent immunoassay for the detection of clenbuterol, increasing 15-fold in detection sensitivity compared with the traditional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. It is expected that the expanded universal substrate sensing modes and the Schiff-base chemistry-enhanced nanozyme can enlighten the exploration of innovative biosensors.

RESUMEN

Nonadiabatic molecular dynamics simulations with a global switching algorithm have been performed at the TD-CAM-B3LYP-D3/def2-SVP level of theory for ultrafast photo-induced ring-opening and isomerization reactions upon S1 excitation for 2,2-diphenyl-2H-chromene (DPC). Both DPC-T and DPC-C conformers undergo ring-opening relaxation and isomerization pathways accompanied with pyran conformation conserved and converted on the S1 or S0 states via competition and cooperation between C-O bond dissociation and pyran inversion motions. Upon S1 excitation, the DPC-T mainly relaxes to the T-type conical intersection region and thus yields a higher ring-opening efficiency with a faster S1 decay and intermediate formation than those of the DPC-C mainly relaxing to C-type conical intersection. The simulated ring-opening quantum yield for DPC-T (DPC-C) is 0.91 (0.76), which is in good agreement with the experimental value of 0.7-0.9, and the thermal weight averaged lifetimes are estimated as 182.0 fs, 228.6 fs, and 1262.4 fs for the excited-state decay, intermediate formation, and ring-opening product, respectively. These time constants are in good agreement with the experimentally measured τ1 time constant of 190-450 fs and τ2 time constant of 1000-1800 fs. The present work could be a valuable reference for understanding the nature of the photorelaxation mechanisms of DPC, and could help to develop DPC-based photoresponsive materials.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) and previous stroke have a significantly higher risk of stroke recurrence. This study aimed to examine the safety and efficacy of the LAmbre left atrial appendage occlusion device in NVAF patients with a history of stroke. METHODS: We examined 103 consecutive NVAF patients in 11 Chinese medical centers who had a history of stroke or transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and underwent placement of the LAmbre device. Follow-up was conducted 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after the procedure. The primary endpoints were the incidence of new ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, systemic embolism, or cardiac death. Secondary endpoints were serious perioperative or device-related complications and cerebral, gastrointestinal, or other bleeding events requiring transfusion of at least 2 units of packed red blood cells. RESULTS: Mean patient age was 67.63 ± 7.14 years; mean CHA2DS2-VASc score was 4.72 ± 1.18 and mean HAS-BLED score was 1.90 ± 1.00. LAmbre device placement was successful in 101 patients (98.05%). Mean follow-up was 12.2 months. Five patients (4.95%) developed a new pericardial effusion after the procedure; none required treatment. Eighty-six patients (85.15%) exhibited no peri-device leak (PDL). However, 13 (12.8%) had a small (0-3 mm) PDL and two (2.3%) had a moderate PDL (3-5 mm). One recurrent stroke occurred during follow-up (1.1%). No other complications occurred. CONCLUSIONS: This multicenter study shows the safety and efficacy of LAmbre left atrial appendage occlusion for NVAF patients with a history of stroke or TIA.

RESUMEN

The color-enzyme lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) has attracted widespread attention to expand the detection range and improve sensitivity via amplifying the color signal after catalyzing the substrate. As a kind of layered transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMD), the vanadium disulfide nanosheet (VS2NS) possesses superior peroxidase-like catalytic activity. Here, a VS2NS was applied as an enzyme label in the LFIA to detect 17ß-estradiol (E2). Compared to natural horseradish peroxidase, the VS2NS expresses a more prominent enzyme catalytic performance, stability, and adsorption ability. Under optimal conditions, the calculated limit of detection (cLOD) of the VS2NS-based LFIA is 0.065 ng mL-1 for E2, which is sixfold lower than that of the optimized colloidal nanoparticle-based LFIA (cLOD = 0.406 ng mL-1). Besides, the detection linear range of the VS2NS-based LFIA can be widened by 1.5 times after the catalytic reaction. Moreover, the VS2NS-based LFIA exhibits excellent practicability in real sample detection. Simultaneously, this study helps open up the application of the VS2NS in the trace analysis of LFIAs, which can broaden TMDs' scope of application and better show their properties of color enzymes.

RESUMEN

Stimulated surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) in combination with engineered nano-tracer offers extraordinary potential in lateral flow immunoassays (LFIAs). Nonetheless, the investigation execution of SERS-LFIA is often compromised by the intricacy and overlap of the Raman fingerprint spectrum as well as the affinity-interference of nano-tracer to antibody. To circumvent these critical issues, an engineered core-shell multifunctional nano-tracer (named APNPs) with precise control of the size of nano-core (AuNPs) and coating of the nano-shell (Prussian blue nanomaterials) is prepared for SERS-LFIA via a modified enlarging particle size and coating modification strategy. Importantly, this nano-tracer exhibits enhanced coupling efficiency, highly retained affinity, reinforced colloid stability, and unique SERS signal (2156 cm-1 ) in the silent region (1800-2800 cm-1 ) with high signal-to-background ratio simultaneously, all of which are beneficial to the enhancement of the analysis performance. With a proof-of-concept demonstration for detection of ractopamine (RAC), a dual-pattern LFIA that synergizes both the enlarged particle size and coating modification supported colorimetric/biological silence Raman dual-response (coined as the ECCRD assay) is demonstrated by integrating APNPs with the competitive-type immunoreaction. This research may contribute to the rational design of multifunctional nano-tracer, and the ECCRD assay can be expanded for a wide spectrum of applications in environmental monitoring and biomedical diagnosis.

RESUMEN

With the rapid growth in global food production, delivery, and consumption, reformative food analytical techniques are required to satisfy the monitoring requirements of speed and high sensitivity. Nanozyme-encoded luminescent detections (NLDs) integrating nanozyme-based rapid detections with luminescent output signals have emerged as powerful methods for food safety monitoring, not only because of their preeminent performance in analysis, such as rapid, facile, low background signal, and ultrasensitive, but also due to their strong attractiveness for future sensing research. However, the lack of a full understanding of the fundamentals of NLDs for food safety detection technologies limits their further application. In this review, a systematic overview of the mechanisms of NLDs and their applications in the food industry is summarized, which covers the nanozyme-mimicking types and their luminescent signal generation mechanisms, as well as their applications in monitoring common foodborne contaminants. As demonstrated by previous studies, NLDs are bridging the gap to practical-oriented food analytical technologies and various opportunities to improve their food analytical performance to be considered in the future are proposed.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the correlation between the circulating miR-126 regulation pathway and the cerebral collateral circulation (CCC), and to test whether miR-126 could serve as a potential biomarker for CCC formation in patients with intracranial arterial stenosis or occlusion. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This single-centre cross-sectional study enrolled patients who underwent cerebral angiography with severe stenosis (≥70%) or occlusion in at least one major intracranial artery. Collateral degree was graded according to the ASITN/SIR classification. The patients were divided into a good CCC group (grade 3-4) or a poor CCC group (grade 0-2). We investigated the plasma levels of miR-126, VEGF, Spred-1 and PIK3R2 by using qRT-PCR, ELISA and Western blot methods, respectively. In addition, we assessed the correlations of plasma miR-126 with VEGF, Spred-1, PIK3R2 and ASITN/SIR grade using the Spearman correlation test and investigated its predictive power for CCC status by using the receiver operating characteristic curve. RESULTS: A total of 68 patients were enrolled (44 with good CCC and 24 with poor CCC). Data showed that plasma miR-126 and VEGF were significantly higher in the good CCC group than in the poor CCC group. Plasma Spred-1 and PIK3R2 level were lower in the good CCC group than in the poor CCC group. In addition, miR-126 and VEGF were positively correlated with ASITN/SIR (miR-126: R = 0.595, P < 0.01; VEGF: R = 0.595, P < 0.01), whereas Spred-1 and PIK3R2 were negatively correlated with ASITN/SIR (Spred-1: R = -0.817, P < 0.01; PIK3R2: R = -0.513, P=0.01). However, the area under the curve of miR-126 level for CCC status was only 0.328 (95% CI: 0.158-0.498; p = 0.067). CONCLUSIONS: Plasma miR-126 level may be related to better CCC formation, one of the mechanisms that may be explained by upregulation of VEGF and reduction of Spred-1 and PIK3R2 protein expression. However, miR-126 might not be an independent predictor for CCC, given its low predictive value.

RESUMEN

Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes (hucMSC-exosomes) have been implicated as a novel therapeutic approach for tissue injury repair and regeneration, but the effects of hucMSC-exosomes on coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3)-induced myocarditis remain unknown. The object of the present study is to investigate whether hucMSC-exosomes have therapeutic effects on CVB3-induced myocarditis (VMC). HucMSC-exosomes were identified using nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Western blot. The purified hucMSC-exosomes tagged with PKH26 were tail intravenously injected into VMC model mice in vivo and used to administrate CVB3-infected human cardiomyocytes (HCMs) in vitro, respectively. The effects of hucMSC-exosomes on myocardial pathology injury, proinflammatory cytokines and cardiac function were evaluated through haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining, quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and Doppler echocardiography. The anti-apoptosis role and potential mechanism of hucMSC-exosomes were explored using TUNEL staining, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, Ad-mRFP-GFP-LC3 transduction and Western blot. In vivo results showed that hucMSC-exosomes (50 µg iv) significantly alleviated myocardium injury, shrank the production of proinflammatory cytokines and improved cardiac function. Moreover, in vitro data showed that hucMSC-exosomes (50 µg/mL) inhibited the apoptosis of CVB3-infected HCM through increasing pAMPK/AMPK ratio and up-regulating autophagy proteins LC3II/I, BECLIN-1 and anti-apoptosis protein BCL-2 as well as decreasing pmTOR/mTOR ratio, promoting the degradation of autophagy flux protein P62 and down-regulating apoptosis protein BAX. In conclusion, hucMSC-exosomes could alleviate CVB3-induced myocarditis via activating AMPK/mTOR-mediated autophagy flux pathway to attenuate cardiomyocyte apoptosis, which will be benefit for MSC-exosome therapy of myocarditis in the future.

RESUMEN

AIMS: To chart the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the activity of interventional electrophysiology services in affected regions. METHODS AND RESULTS: We reviewed the electrophysiology laboratory records in three affected cities: Wenzhou in China, Milan in Italy, and London in the UK. We inspected catheter lab records and interviewed electrophysiologists in each centre to gather information on the impact of the pandemic on working patterns and on the health of staff members and patients. There was a striking decline in interventional electrophysiology activity in each of the centres. The decline occurred within a week of the recognition of widespread community transmission of the virus in each region and shows a striking correlation with the national figures for new diagnoses of COVID-19 in each case. During the period of restriction, workflow dropped to <5% of normal, consisting of emergency cases only. In two of three centres, electrophysiologists were redeployed to perform emergency work outside electrophysiology. Among the centres studied, only Wenzhou has seen a recovery from the restrictions in activity. Following an intense nationwide programme of public health interventions, local transmission of COVID-19 ceased to be detectable after 18 February allowing the electrophysiology service to resume with a strict testing regime for all patients. CONCLUSION: Interventional electrophysiology is vulnerable to closure in times of great social difficulty including the COVID-19 pandemic. Intense public health intervention can permit suppression of local disease transmission allowing resumption of some normal activity with stringent precautions.

RESUMEN

Our previous studies have reported that agonist of α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors prevented electrophysiological dysfunction of rats with ischaemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) by eliciting the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway (CAP). Adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signalling is widely recognized exerting cardioprotective effect in various cardiomyopathy. Here, we aimed to investigate whether the protective effects of the CAP are associated with AMPK signalling in ICM. In vivo, coronary artery of rats was ligated for 4 weeks to induce the ICM and then treated with PNU-282987 (CAP agonist) and BML-275 dihydrochloride (AMPK antagonist) for 4 weeks. In vitro, primary macrophages harvested from rats were induced inflammation by Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) treatment and then treated with PNU-282987 and BML-275 dihydrochloride. In vivo, exciting CAP by PUN-282987 elicited an activation of AMPK signalling, alleviated ventricular remodeling, modified the cardiac electrophysiological function, reduced the cardiac expression of collagens and inflammatory cytokines and maintained the integrity of ultrastructure in the ischemic heart. However, the benefits of CAP excitation were blunted by AMPK signaling antagonization. In vitro, excitation of the CAP was observed inhibiting the nuclear transfer of NF-κB p65 of macrophages and promoting the transformation of Ly-6Chigh macrophages into Ly-6Clow macrophages. However, inhibiting AMPK signalling by BML-275 dihydrochloride reversed the CAP effect on LPS-treated macrophages. Finally, our findings suggest that eliciting the CAP modulates the inflammatory response in ICM through regulating AMPK signalling.

RESUMEN

Carotid-Cavernous sinus fistula (CCF) caused by a ruptured aneurysm of persistent primitive trigeminal artery (PPTA) is exceptionally rare. Herein, we reported the case of a 64-year-old female who presented with headache, pulsatile tinnitus, and diplopia. Angiography showed a PPTA and CCF. Three-dimensional digital subtraction angiograms revealed a direct shunt between the PPTA aneurysm and the left cavernous sinus. The trigeminal carotid fistula was successfully treated with detachable coils and Onyx, and the PPTA was preserved. Hence, coil and Onyx occlusion of the cavernous sinus is a safe and effective treatment for trigeminal carotid fistula.

RESUMEN

Colorectal Cancer (CRC) is a most common digestive system malignant tumor. Despite recent advance in CRC treatment, searching for efficient biomarker and individual treatment therapy remains an urgent need. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) plays a critical role in the development and progression of CRC. In addition, shunting of arachidonic acid metabolism to the 5-lipoxygenase (ALOX5, 5-LO) pathway has also been reported to be implicated in the CRC pathogenesis. Cancer cell viability is promoted by ALOX5 through several mechanisms that are similar to those of COX-2. In recent years, it has been widely recognized that through inhibition of target genes, miRNAs can exert both oncogenic and tumor suppressive functions, depending on circumstances. In the present study, we screened for candidate microRNAs (miRNAs) which were predicted to regulate COX-2 and ALOX5 by online tools. Among the candidate miRNAs, miR-216a-3p expression was down-regulated in CRC tissues and cell lines; a higher miR-216a-3p expression was correlated with longer overall survival in patients with CRC. Moreover, ectopic miR-216a-3p expression significantly suppressed CRC cell proliferation. Using luciferase reporter gene, real-time PCR, and western blot assays, we confirmed the miR-216a-3p regulation of COX-2 and ALOX5 through direct targeting; further verified that miR-216a-3p could inhibit COX-2 and ALOX5 expression in CRC cells, thus to affect CRC cell proliferation. Taken together, miR-216a-3p presents a novel target of CRC treatment; rescuing miR-216a-3p expression in CRC might be a promising strategy for CRC treatment.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To investigate electrocardiographic (ECG) characteristics and radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) efficacy for premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) and idiopathic ventricular tachycardias (IVTs) originating from ventricular septum areas adjacent to atrioventricular annulus (VS-AVA). METHODS: Among 1,505 consecutive PVCs/IVTs cases, 106 (7.04%) were confirmed as origin of VS-AVA guided by both fluoroscopy and three-dimensional mapping system during RFCA. Characteristics of surface 12-lead ECG were analyzed. RESULTS: The overall success rate for RFCA of PVCs/IVTs originating from VS-AVA was 82.08% (87/106), common ECG characteristics were: mainly positive R wave on lead I; dominant-positive R on aVL (91/106, 85.85%) for most, r (1/106, 0.94%) or qr (14/106, 13.21%) in few; QS or qs on aVR; and decreasing R wave amplitude and increasing S wave depth on II, III, and aVF from superior to inferior septum; and S wave on at least one inferior lead (generally III). Distinctive ECG features were: precordial transition zone before or after V2 for septum adjacent to mitral (MA, 19/19, 100.0%) or tricuspid (TA, 74/87,85.05%) annulus origin; initial r wave and rS on V1 for superior septum near TA (above His bundle) origin (9/10, 90.0%) with no initial r wave for most other origins; and QS on V1 for mid-inferior septum near TA origin (73/77, 94.81%) and QR (Qr, qR or qr) on V1 for septum near MA origin (17/19, 89.47%). CONCLUSION: Distinctive ECG characteristics of PVCs/IVTs originating from VS-AVA aid in origin localization guiding effective RFCA.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND Delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning (DEACMP) is one of the most serious complications after CO poisoning. This study was conducted to explore the efficacy of the combined application of N-Butylphthalide and hyperbaric oxygenation therapy (HBO) on cognitive dysfunction in patients with DEACMP. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 184 patients with DEACMP were randomly assigned to either receive HBO or N-Butylphthalide and HBO. Meanwhile, all patients received conventional treatment. The total remission rate (RR) was used to assess the clinical efficacy. The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) was used to assess the cognitive function, and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) was used to assess the neurological function. RESULTS Finally, there were 90 and 94 patients in the control and experimental groups, respectively. After eight weeks of treatment, the total RR in the experimental group (47.9%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (33.3%). Compared to the control group, significantly more patients in the experimental group had MMSE scores of 24-30. The lower NIHSS score in the experimental group showed that N-Butylphthalide had the effect of preservation and restoration of neurological function. No obvious drug toxicity or liver and kidney dysfunction was observed, and there was no significant change in the level of blood glucose and blood lipids. CONCLUSIONS These results indicated that the combined application of N-Butylphthalide and HBO could significantly improve the cognitive dysfunction of patients with DEACMP and have great clinical efficacy, which should be further studied.

RESUMEN

Up to 40% of healthy children have premature ventricular complexes or contractions (PVCs) detected with 24-hour Holter monitoring. We aimed to investigate the morphological characteristics and origins of idiopathic PVCs under a 12-lead electrocardiogram in children with structurally normal hearts. All asymptomatic monomorphic PVC patients with structurally normal hearts under 18 years of age were included in this retrospective study. Characteristics of PVCs in lead V1 under a 12-lead electrocardiogram were classified as left bundle branch block (PVC-LBBB) or right bundle branch block (PVC-RBBB). According to limb leads, PVC-LBBB or PVC-RBBB was divided into: PVCs-LBBB type I; PVCs-LBBB type II; PVCs-RBBB type I; PVCs-RBBB type II; and PVCs-RBBB type III. Out of 178 PVC patients, 94 cases of PVCs-LBBB (PVCs-LBBB type I = 60; PVCs-LBBB type II = 34) and 84 cases of PVCs-RBBB (PVCs-RBBB type I = 3; PVCs-RBBB type II = 55; PVCs-RBBB type III = 26) were identified. The frequency of PVCs-LBBB type I increased with age and the frequency of PVCs-RBBB type II and III decreased with age. Among the children monitor tested, from 1 years old to 18 years old, PVCs originating from the left or right ventricular outflow tract gradually increased with age, while PVCs originating from the branch sources decreased with age.
