RESUMEN

A CuH-catalyzed reductive coupling of nitroarenes with phosphine oxides is developed, which produces a series of phosphamides in moderate to excellent yields with good functional group tolerance. Gram-scale synthesis and late-stage modification of nitro-aromatic functional molecule niclosamide are also successfully conducted. The mechanism study shows that the nitro group is transformed after being reduced to nitroso and a nucleophilic addition procedure is involved during the reaction.

RESUMEN

In this paper, we designed a three-band narrowband perfect absorber based on bulk Dirac semi-metallic (BDS) metamaterials. The absorber consists of a hollow Dirac semi-metallic layer above, a gold layer below and a photonic crystal slab (PCS) in the middle. The study found that the terahertz wave absorber achieved three perfect absorption rates of more than 95% in the range of 1 to 2.4 THz. The minimum bandwidth (FWHM) is 0.02 THz, and the maximum quality factor (Q) is 106. A reasonable explanation of high absorption can be obtained by impedance matching, electric dipole and other principles. The absorption spectra of the two polarizations show different responses at different incident angles. In addition, we also obtained the influence of the structural parameters of the upper layer of the metamaterial on the absorption performance. We defined the refractive index sensitivity (S) with a maximum sensitivity of 0.1525 THz RIU-1 and a highest quality factor (FOM) of 4.26 in the refractive index range of 1 to 1.8. The maximum adjustable range is 0.06 THz in the Fermi energy range of 60 to 140 meV. Because of its excellent characteristics, our absorber will have good development prospects in the fields of optical switching, biochemical imaging, and space detection.

RESUMEN

Here, 20 Cu-20 Ni-54 NiFe2O4-6 NiO (wt%) cermets were prepared via the powder metallurgy process, and the electrolytic corrosion behavior of the cermets at 880 °C and 960 °C was studied through the microstructure analysis by SEM and EDS. Results show that the ceramic phase is seriously affected by chemical corrosion at 880 °C electrolysis, and it is difficult to form a dense ceramic surface layer. A dense ceramic surface layer is formed on the bottom of the anode electrolyzed at 960 °C, and the dense layer thickens with the extension of the electrolysis time. The formation of the dense surface layer is mainly caused by the oxidation of Ni. The oxidation rate of the metallic phase and the corrosion rate of the ceramic phase have an important effect on the formation of the dense layer. In the corrosion process of NiFe2O4 phase, preferential corrosion of Fe element occurs first, and then NiO phase is precipitated from NiFe2O4 phase. After the NiO is dissolved and corroded, the NiFe2O4 grains collapse and the ceramic phase peels off from the anode.

RESUMEN

Neuron production takes place continuously in the rostral migratory stream (RMS) of the adult mammalian brain. The molecular mechanisms that regulate progenitor cell division and differentiation in the RMS remain largely unknown. Here, we surveyed the mouse genome in an unbiased manner to identify candidate gene loci that regulate proliferation in the adult RMS. We quantified neurogenesis in adult C57BL/6J and A/J mice, and 27 recombinant inbred lines derived from those parental strains. We showed that the A/J RMS had greater numbers of bromodeoxyuridine-labeled cells than that of C57BL/6J mice with similar cell cycle parameters, indicating that the differences in the number of bromodeoxyuridine-positive cells reflected the number of proliferating cells between the strains. AXB and BXA recombinant inbred strains demonstrated even greater variation in the numbers of proliferating cells. Genome-wide mapping of this trait revealed that chromosome 11 harbors a significant quantitative trait locus at 116.75 +/- 0.75 Mb that affects cell proliferation in the adult RMS. The genomic regions that influence RMS proliferation did not overlap with genomic regions regulating proliferation in the adult subgranular zone of the hippocampal dentate gyrus. On the contrary, a different, suggestive locus that modulates cell proliferation in the subgranular zone was mapped to chromosome 3 at 102 +/- 7 Mb. A subset of genes in the chromosome 11 quantitative trait locus region is associated with neurogenesis and cell proliferation. Our findings provide new insights into the genetic control of neural proliferation and an excellent starting point to identify genes critical to this process.

RESUMEN

This study was aimed to evaluate the biocompatibility of Hydroxyapatite/High density polyethylene (HA/ HDPE) nano-composites artificial ossicle. The percentage of S-period cells were detected by flow cytometry after L929 cells being incubated with extraction of the HA/HDPE nano-composites; the titanium materials for clinical application served as the contrast. In addition, both materials were implanted in animals and the histopathological evaluations were conducted. There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups (P >0.05). The results demonstrated that the HA/HDPE nano-composite artificial ossicle made by our laboratory is of a good biocompatibility and clinical application outlook.

RESUMEN

Hydroxyapatite (HA) microspheres with high porosities were successfully obtained using an improved ice-templated spray drying (ITSD) technique for drug delivery applications. Pore structures and pore sizes of microspheres have great impact on drug loading and release kinetics. Therefore, solvent types, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) contents and solid loadings of suspensions were adjusted to control the pore structures and pore sizes. Microspheres with interconnected pore networks and aligned pore structures were obtained using camphene-based and tert-butyl alcohol (TBA)-based suspensions, respectively. With the increase of PVA contents in suspensions, the growth of sintering neck became more obvious and the surface of HA particles became smoother. The inner pore structures of microspheres transformed from uniformly distributed cellular pores to three-dimensional interconnected pore networks, with the increase of solid loadings in suspensions. Gentamicin was successfully loaded into porous HA microspheres. The drug loading percentage increased from 40.59 to 49.82% with the increase of porosity of HA microspheres. The release percentage during the initial 18 h increased from 48.72 to 65.68% with the transformation of pore structures from independent cellular pores (main diameter~3 µm) to three-dimensional interconnected pore networks (main diameter>3 µm).

RESUMEN

N-Methyl-N'-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde acylhydrazones have been chemospecifically synthesized in good yield by N-methylation of the Fe(iii) complexes of N-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde acylhydrazones with methyl iodide in tetrahydrofuran. The reaction proceeds with the exclusive formation of the N-methyl derivative without any concurrent O-methylation side reactions. In addition, the N-methylation reaction occurred simultaneously with a complete deprotection step (elimination of the metal ion). As a result, the N-methyl product was obtained in excellent purity without time-consuming chromatographic workup. A free N-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde acylhydrazone ligand could not be methylated under the same conditions.

RESUMEN

Titanium dioxide sols were synthesized by hydrothermal reactions with addition of poly (ethylene glycol) (Mw=20,000). Using techniques of X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, and scanning electron microscopy, effect of PEG on the crystallographic properties, particle size, aggregating behavior, and the morphological properties of nanoparticles in the sols were studied. It was found that growth of anatase nanocrystallites was retarded by PEG. Average crystallite size of anatase nanocrystallites first decreased from 20.7 nm to 10.5 nm as the polymer concentration increased from 1 g/L to 3 g/L, and then changed little. Meanwhile, small amount of rutile phases like rutile nanowires, twin crystallites, and the "flowers" appeared continuously when the concentration increased from 3 g/L to 5 g/L. Mono-dispersion was obtained with relatively lower PEG concentration. The observed evolvement was discussed based on the interaction between the polymers and the nanocrystallites with assistance of FTIR. The coverage of polymer chains on surface of nanocrystallites leads to isolated reactors, which benefits the uniform coarsening rate of the nanocrystallites. The synthesized TiO(2) sols were utilized in dye sensitized solar cells. Performance parameters of the solar cells were discussed with assistance of dye desorption experiments. The improved dispersion in sols was found to benefit the photovoltaic performance of the cells.

RESUMEN

Core-template-free hybrid hydroxyapatite (HA) hollow microspheres based on a chitosan-poly acrylic acid (CS-PAA) complex were prepared. The amine groups on chitosan can interact with the carboxyl groups of poly(acrylic acid) to form hollow microspheres. The hollow HA microspheres of about 1.0 microm are obtained by heterogeneous nucleation of HA on CS-PAA hollow spheres. Gelatin (Gel), acting as a novel cross-link agent, is introduced to bind the spheres of CS-PAA and HA. The forming mechanism of hollow spheres and the influencing factors on the size of microspheres are investigated. In addition, the role of Gel is elucidated in the forming process of the hollow hybrid sphere.

RESUMEN

In this paper the porous hydroxyapatite coating on Ti implant materials was prepared by the process of electrodeposition, hydrothermal and sinter. The surface morphology, bond strength and thickness of HA coatings were investigated by SEM, AFM, and its biocompatibility was evaluated by cytotoxicity experiments and implant experiments, respectively. Results showed that (1) The HA coatings was 50 microm thickness and adhered on the Ti substrate strongly, which bond strength reached 38 MPa. AFM analysis showed that the HA coating was porous structure, in which the mean pore size was 236.5 microm, (2) Cytotoxicity experiments and implant experiments showed that HA-coated Ti implant materials has little cytotoxicity in vitro and little inflammatory reaction in vivo, and there were no statistically disparity between HA-coated Ti implant and titanium implant materials of clinical application (p>0.05), which demonstrated that HA-coated Ti has a good biocompatibility.
