RESUMEN

The widespread use in today's world of radioactive sources d in energy, medicine, engineering and construction, for contaminant tracking and food sterilization increases the likelihood of accidental exposure. The use of ionizing radiation and radioactive elements can directly or indirectly cause life-threatening complications, such as oncopathology, radiation burns, and impaired immunity. Pollution of the environment with radioactive elements and depletion of the ozone layer also contribute to an increase in the level of radiation exposure. To protect the health of the population living in contaminated areas and consuming locally produced products, it is necessary to organize a system for monitoring radioactive damage, as well as special anti-radiation protective measures in the field of agriculture and forestry, hunting and fishing, and providing the population with food. The purpose of the study is to analyze modern scientific data on the effect of ionizing radiation on reproductive function and modern approaches aimed at correcting its violations. Bibliographic, information-analytical methods and methods of comparative analysis were used.

RESUMEN

The overview of scientific information concerning actual characteristics of population's supply with vitamin D and its role in case of risk of development of infectious diseases and COVID-19 is presented. The analysis established that vitamin D deficiency contributes both to higher risk of susceptibility to infectious agent and to negative impact to course and outcome of disease. The significant role of vitamin D in prevention and treatment of viral diseases is established. The international research studies confirm that at infectious diseases and early stages of COVID-19 protective immune response is responsible for elimination of the virus. Therefore, using vitamin D in treatment of COVID-19 is the strategy of immune protection. The authors consider that in case of infectious risks, preventive application of vitamin D is necessary. In case of initial manifestations of COVID-19, it is appropriate to promptly achieve levels of optimal status of micro-nutrient supply.

RESUMEN

AIM: to study normal blood and lymph microcirculation of the upper and lower eyelids in different age groups. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study included 108 volunteers (216 eyes) aged from 20 to 80 years with no signs of changes in anterior segment structures, who were grouped by age ranges (20-30 years, 31-40 years, 41-50 years, 51-60 years, 61-70 years, and 71-80 years) into 6 groups equal in gender and quantitative composition. In all volunteers, microcirculation of the upper and lower eyelids was examined by laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) ('LASMA MC-1' peripheral blood and lymph flow analyzer and 'LASMA MC' laser diagnostic complex, LASMA LLC). The average perfusion changes in blood and lymph flow as well as blood and lymph flow oscillations were analyzed. RESULTS: Blood and lymph flow in the microvasculature of the upper and lower eyelids is variable and depends on neither the age, nor gender of the test subject. On LDF-gram, every increase in amplitude of blood flow corresponds to a decrease in that of lymph flow. CONCLUSION: The non-invasive method of LDF expands our diagnostic capabilities as it enables assessment of not only blood, but also lymph flow. The data obtained can serve as a starting point for exploring microcirculation in different age groups in the presence of different pathological processes.

RESUMEN

Using non-invasive optical methods of laser Doppler flowmetry, tissue reflectance oximetry and pulse oximetry, we investigated the dynamics of parameter changes of microcirculatory-tissue systems (MTS) when using cold pressor test (CPT) on 32 conventionally healthy volunteers. According to differences in the recovery rate of oxygen consumption during CPT, volunteers can be conditionally divided into 2 groups: 1--displaying normal physiology and 2--with a tendency to angiospasm and lack of functional recovery of the MTS. To identify possible causes of angiospasm, we performed a detailed analysis of blood flow oscillations. This analysis revealed that the cause of angiospasm may be a violation of the tone-shaping myogenic mechanisms regulating resistive microvessels, disturbances to the microcirculation of stagnant blood, or a combination of both of these factors. Use of the CPT for functional assessment of MTS allows us not only to estimate the reserve capabilities of the MTS, but also to identify--at a pre-clinical stage-propensity to angiospasm, which has practical value in the clinic.

RESUMEN

AIM: The state of microcirculation and platelet hemostasis in patients with ischemic stroke after systemic thrombolytic therapy. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Forty-two patients after systemic thrombolytic therapy (TLT) (mean age 64.26 [60.58; 68.06]) and 47 patients without TLT (54.52 [47.48; 60.83]) were studied. The study of platelet hemostasis was conducted with the determination of platelet aggregation (AT) on adrenaline, ADP, ristomycin, spontaneous aggregation on days 1, 7 and 14. Studies of the state of microcirculation of cerebral vessels were carried out using the laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF). RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Characteristics of changes in induced AT and parameters of the microcirculation system in patients after systemic TLT at 1, 7 and 14 days in comparison with the indices of patients without TLT were revealed that allowed to expand the understanding of pathological mechanisms of the microcirculatory bed, their connection with violations of central hemodynamics and to obtain additional markers of disease course and prognosis.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To study microcirculation in patients with acute ischemic stroke (IS) using the method of laser Doppler fluorimetry (LDF). MATERIAL AND METHODS: We examined 19 patients with acute carotid IS, including 12 patients who received thrombolytic therapy. The reference group included 22 patients with chronic cerebral ischemia without a history of IS. Computed and magnetic resonance tomography of the brain, ultrasound diagnosis of head and neck vessels, the study of the changes in neurological status, emotional sphere, cognitive functions and laboratory methods were used. RESULTS: An index of total blood flow in the microcirculatory bed on the side of stroke was lower compared to that in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia. The study of parameters of microcirculatory bed regulation revealed an increase of blood inflow into the microcirculatory bed with the augmentation of the myogenic activity of arterioles and primarily the nutritional regimen of microhemocirculation. A decrease in the myogenic activity in the microcirculation system and nutritional direction of microhemodynamics were noted in patients with large IS. In some cases, non-nutritional regimen and/or venule congestion were observed. CONCLUSION: The study of the microcirculation system with the LDF method can be used as the method of early diagnosis of unfavorable variants of cerebral microcirculation that is necessary for outcome prognosis and its correction.

RESUMEN

Multi-functional laser non-invasive diagnostic systems allow the study of a number of microcirculatory parameters, including index of blood microcirculation (Im) (by laser Doppler flowmetry, LDF) and oxygen saturation (StO2) of skin tissue (by tissue reflectance oximetry, TRO). This research aimed to use such a system to investigate the synchronization of microvascular blood flow and oxygen saturation rhythms under normal and adaptive change conditions. Studies were conducted on eight healthy volunteers of 21-49 years. These volunteers were observed between one and six months, totalling 422 basic tests (3 min each). Measurements were performed on the palmar surface of the right middle finger and the lower forearm's medial surface. Rhythmic oscillations of LDF and TRO were studied using wavelet analysis. Combined tissue oxygen consumption data for all volunteers during 'adaptive changes' increased relative to normal conditions with and without arteriovenous anastomoses. Data analysis revealed resonance and synchronized rhythms in microvascular blood flow and oxygen saturation as an adaptive change in myogenic oscillation (vasomotion) resulting from exercise and possibly psychoemotional stress. Synchronization of myogenic rhythms during adaptive changes may lead to increased oxygen consumption as a result of increased microvascular blood flow velocity.
