RESUMEN

Objective To analyze the context of health promotion with adolescents in the health and education interface focusing on the actions of the Brazilian School Health Program. Qualitative study conducted in 2015 with professionals working in the Regional Executive Coordination IV, in Fortaleza, Ceará. The data obtained in the interview were processed in the ALCESTE program. 17 health professionals and 22 education professionals participated in the study. The organization of spontaneous demand causes disharmony in the scheduled visits and health actions in the school. The difficulties in the implementation of the School Health Program were demonstrated by the lack of knowledge, the lack of planning among the sectors and the different demarcations in the territory. The professionals' lack of knowledge regarding the program and the lack of action planning confirm the disarticulation of the education and health sectors, although they indicate the possibilities of this inter-sectoral practice.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: to construe and validate a podcast for teen sexual and reproductive health education. METHOD: a methodological study was conducted based on Freire's perspective. The podcast was construed based on the Knowledge about Sexuality Questionnaire applied to 60 adolescents and an integrative literature review. Eleven experts conducted the validation process. Internal consistency was evaluated using Item-level Content Validity Index ≥0.78 and Cronbach's alpha ≥0.700. RESULTS: four podcast episodes were produced with the adolescents' participation using the radio play format, addressing sex and sexuality, contraceptive methods, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted infections. The podcast episodes last between 8 and 11 minutes and was validated with Item-level Content Validity Index = 0.87 and Cronbach's alpha = 0.951. CONCLUSION: the podcast was validated for teen sexual and reproductive health education and constitutes a tool for health professional practices, particularly nurses, as well as autonomous use by adolescents.(1) Adolescents helped construct the technology. (2) Podcast is an easy-to-access, low-cost educational resource. (3) The radio play format emulates the target audience's style and language. (4) The podcast format is little used by nursing, especially in health education. (5) The unpublished and judge-validated podcast is available for free.

RESUMEN

This study analyzes the spatial pattern of implementation of Primary Health Care (PHC) teams in Northern and Northeastern Brazil. This is an ecological study on the rates of Community Health Workers (ACS), Family Health Team (eSF), Oral Health Team (eSB), and Family Health Extended Center (NASF) based on data from the Ministry of Health (MoH). The analysis of the area data identified patterns of spatial dependence of the municipalities for the rates, using Moran indices and scatterplots to visualize critical areas' clusters (95% confidence). Municipalities of the North (n=450) and Northeast (n=1,794) had 132,174 ACS, 18,405 eSF, 13,017 eSB, and 2,205 NASF. The proportion of municipalities with rates within the recommended by the MoH were: ACS (>1.33), 96% in the North and 98.5% in the Northeast; eSF (>2.9/1,000), 54% and 80% in the respective regions; eSB (>2.9/10,000) 28% and 59% in these respective regions. NASF teams were deployed in 70% of the North and 89% of the Northeast. Except for ACS, the North was a critical team area, mainly in Pará, Rondônia, Amazonas, and Amapá. In the Northeast, these areas were smaller and concentrated mainly in western Bahia and eastern Maranhão. The Northeast showed a better composition of teams and a smaller extent of critical areas.

OBJECTIVES: to understand how the therapeutic itineraries of people affected by leprosy are processed. METHODS: this is a descriptive, qualitative study, conducted in April 2018 in Barão de Grajaú in Maranhão, with interviews in the form of narratives of seven patients who had a late leprosy diagnosis. RESULTS: the search for diagnosis is a major difficulty in accessing health services, resulting in a late diagnosis and, consequently, with the presence of visible deformities. It was noticed that the health units do not have a flow, nor protocols for comprehensive treatment, and these people are referred to a referral unit in another state to perform sputum smear microscopy. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: leprosy control actions need reformulations that seek the relationship between operational activities, epidemiological indicators and risk factors, in accordance with the real needs of each region, thus highlighting the gaps evidenced in the therapeutic itineraries.

RESUMEN

Popular Education in Health (PEH) is a field of knowledge and practices permeated by listening, dialogue, and action. With a set of national experiences and productions, it is a political-pedagogical movement that articulates forces from various social and popular segments, health workers, educators, and researchers in collective health, among other actors. Supported by authors such as Paulo Freire and Victor Valla, among others, PEH has been strengthened in the dimensions of training, participation, management, and health care. Despite the dismantling experienced today in the Brazilian public scene, the PEH Thematic Group (TG) of the Brazilian Association of Public Health (ABRASCO) has been helping to foster, design, and express the voicing of the construction and development of participatory educational and democratic processes in Brazil. This paper showcases the experiences and elaborations of the TG members through the report of the collegiate coordination center members of the last administrations, a period of changes in the political, social, economic, educational and health scenarios, including the influence of the current planetary crisis brought about by the effects of COVID-19, especially in the Brazilian society.

Abstract The text discusses the boundaries, vulnerabilities and instituting modes of the concept of Health Promotion in conjunction with the concept of Popular Education as a basis for operationalizing actions in the field of Collective Health. Health Promotion, in its historical-conceptual evolution and support for health practices, is analyzed based on Latin American thought anchored in the perspective of the "social production of health". Considerations are presented about the concrete forms that Health Promotion has acquired as a tool for certain institutional arrangements in the Unified Health System, focusing on the educational dimension of practices, starting from the perspective of Popular Education as an approach committed to producing inclusive processes in health and overcoming inequalities and inequities that affect the life and the construction of democracy, which, in the Brazilian context, was configured through "Popular Health Education".

Abstract The study aims to assess the influence of the practices and knowledge of popular educators on hegemonic health education actions. A case study in which semi-structured interviews was carried out with 23 educators during the Popular Health Education Training Course selection process. A content analysis of the data was carried out, with the help of Iramuteq for interpretation. Popular Health Education has presented itself as a field that articulates accumulated practices and knowledge in education, health, art, and social movements, breaking with the fragmentation of expertises, the mercantilisation of knowledge and professions, as well as the hierarchy between academic and popular knowledge. When reflecting on being a popular educator, the subjects brought up their singularities as essential and the break with the hegemonic idea of an educator. The articulation between different elements points to a universe sometimes made up of contradictions between them. Popular health education has proved to be a space for breaking with hegemonic perspectives on health education, as it presents itself as a dialogue between diverse and unique practices, knowledge, and values, which, open to contradiction, is intended to be a collective construction.

RESUMEN

The aim of this study is to understand interprofessional teams' collaborative practices for prenatal dental follow-up in primary health care. An exploratory, qualitative and descriptive study was carried out, in which workers directly involved in prenatal care in the city of Fortaleza, Brazil were included. A total of 24 individual semi structured in depth interviews were conducted between June and August of 2018. The information was organized based on a thematic analysis, and the hermeneutic dialectic method was used for the theoretical foundation and interpretation. Three discursive categories were identified: professional perceptions about collaborative practice, challenges in interprofessional collaboration, and collaboration practices within the team. The professionals' perception about interprofessional collaboration in maternal and child care was favorable, although in some cases the interdisciplinary work practice was not effective due to the existence of barriers that hindered its fulfillment.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To analyze, in the speeches of nurses, the habitus that conforms their professional identity in the primary health care area. METHOD: Qualitative study, carried out from March to October 2015, with nurses of primary healthcare units in the cities of Cajazeiras, in the state of Paraíba, and Maracanaú, in the state of Ceará. Data were collected by means of semi-structured interviews, and analyzed through discourse analysis. RESULTS: Nurses, in their practice and perception, perceive that professional identity is linked to the meaning that involves the word "everything".
