RESUMEN

Angiogenesis plays a critical role in many pathological processes, including irreversible blindness in eye diseases such as retinopathy of prematurity. Endothelial mitochondria are dynamic organelles that undergo constant fusion and fission and are critical signalling hubs that modulate angiogenesis by coordinating reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and calcium signalling and metabolism. In this study, we investigated the role of mitochondrial dynamics in pathological retinal angiogenesis. We showed that treatment with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF; 20 ng/ml) induced mitochondrial fission in HUVECs by promoting the phosphorylation of dynamin-related protein 1 (DRP1). DRP1 knockdown or pretreatment with the DRP1 inhibitor Mdivi-1 (5 µM) blocked VEGF-induced cell migration, proliferation, and tube formation in HUVECs. We demonstrated that VEGF treatment increased mitochondrial ROS production in HUVECs, which was necessary for HIF-1α-dependent glycolysis, as well as proliferation, migration, and tube formation, and the inhibition of mitochondrial fission prevented VEGF-induced mitochondrial ROS production. In an oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) mouse model, we found that active DRP1 was highly expressed in endothelial cells in neovascular tufts. The administration of Mdivi-1 (10 mg·kg-1·d-1, i.p.) for three days from postnatal day (P) 13 until P15 significantly alleviated pathological angiogenesis in the retina. Our results suggest that targeting mitochondrial fission may be a therapeutic strategy for proliferative retinopathies and other diseases that are dependent on pathological angiogenesis.

RESUMEN

This study aimed to explore the mechanism of Shexiang Tongxin Dropping Pills(STDP) in treating diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM) based on network pharmacology, molecular docking, and animal experiments. BATMAN, TCMSP, and GeneCards were searched for the active ingredients and targets of STDP against DCM. STRING and Cytoscape were used to build the protein-protein interaction(PPI) network and "drug-active ingredient-target" network. Gene Ontology(GO) functional annotation and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) enrichment analysis of the targets were carried out based on DAVID. The molecular docking of key receptor proteins with corresponding active ingredients was performed using AutoDock Vina. The rat model of DCM was established by a high-fat diet combined with intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. Rats were assigned into control, model, low-(20 mg·kg~(-1)) and high-dose(40 mg·kg~(-1)) STDP, and metformin(200 mg·kg~(-1)) groups. After 8 weeks of continuous administration, the cardiac function, myocardial pathological changes, and myocardial collagen fiber deposition of rats in each group were detected by echocardiography, hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining, and Sirius red staining, respectively. The myocardial hypertrophy was detected by WGA staining. The expression levels of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(p38), phosphorylation-p38(p-p38), c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK), phosphorylation-JNK(p-JNK), caspase-3, and C-caspase-3 in the myocardial tissue of rats in each group were measured by Western blot. The network pharmacology predicted 199 active ingredients and 1 655 targets of STDP and 463 targets of DCM. One hundred and thirty-four potential targets of STDP for treating DCM were obtained, and the AGE-RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications was screened out. Molecular docking results showed that miltirone, dehydromiltirone, and tryptanthrin had strong binding affinity with RAGE. The results of animal experiments confirmed that STDP effectively protected the cardiac function of DCM rats. Compared with the DCM model group, the STDP groups showed significantly down-regulated protein levels of p-p38, p-JNK, and C-caspase-3. To sum up, STDP may protect the cardiac function of DCM rats by regulating the AGE-RAGE signaling pathway.

RESUMEN

Euphoesulatin A (Eup A), a new jatrophane diterpenoid isolated from the Euphorbia esula L. (Euphorbiaceae), was reported to inhibit RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis. However, the underlying mechanism and the effect in osteoporosis mouse model are still unclear. This study is the first to demonstrate that Eup A inhibits osteoclastogenesis in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistic analysis suggested that Eup A (3, 6, 12 µM) dose-dependently inhibited osteoclastogenesis by down-regulating the activation of NFATc1 and NF-κB and MAPKs signal pathways. Moreover, Eup A (10 mg/kg) significantly prevented bone loss in ovariectomized mice. This work provides in vitro and in vivo evidence that Eup A could be a potential candidate for the development of anti-osteoporosis agents.

RESUMEN

The mudskipper Boleophthalmus pectinirostris inhabits intertidal mudflats, exhibiting semilunar reproductive rhythms. To investigate whether melanopsin is possibly involved in the synchronization of the semilunar spawning rhythm in the female mudskipper, we first cloned all four melanopsin subtypes (opn4m1, opn4m3, opn4x1, opn4x2) in B. pectinirostris. Results from RTq-PCR showed that significantly higher transcription levels of all four melanopsin subtypes were observed in the eyes rather than other tissues. In brain, all four melanopsin subtypes were also detectable in different regions, including the telencephalon, in which the expression of melanopsin has not been reported in other teleosts. The transcription levels of opn4m3 and opn4x1 in the telencephalon exhibited a daily fluctuation pattern. When females entered the spawning season, opn4m1 and opn4x1 transcript levels increased significantly in the telencephalon. During the spawning season, the transcript levels of opn4m3 and opn4x1 in the telencephalon appeared to have a cyclic pattern associated with semilunar periodicity, exhibiting two cycles with a peak around the first or the last lunar quarters. Results from ISH showed that, opn4x1 mRNA was localized in the medial of dorsal telencephalic area, dorsal nucleus of ventral telencephalic area (Vd), ventral nucleus of ventral telencephalic area (Vv), anterior part of parvocellular preoptic nucleus, magnocellular part of the magnocellular preoptic nucleus (PMmc), habenular and ventral zone of hypothalamus. Intriguingly, gnrh3 mRNA was also located in Vd, Vv and PMmc. Taken together, our results suggested that melanopsins, e.g. opn4x1, expressed in the telencephalon might mediate semilunar spawning activity in the female mudskipper.

RESUMEN

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine (SPARC) on the maintenance of limbal epithelial stem cell (LESC) stemness and restoration of ocular surface. To determine the suitable concentration of SPARC for LESC culture, the marker expression, mitogenic effect, and holoclone-forming capacity of LESCs treated with different concentrations of SPARC were analyzed. To investigate the mechanism of SPARC's action on the preservation of LESCs stemness, the phosphorylation of related signaling pathways was evaluated by Western blotting. A corneal wound model was established to verify the function of SPARC in ocular surface repair. Consecutive subculturing, colony-forming efficiency, immunofluorescence, and 5-ethynyl-2-deoxyuridine incorporation assays indicated that 1 µg/mL SPARC was a suitable concentration to stimulate LESC proliferation and preserve their proliferative potential. Compared with a control group, 1 µg/mL SPARC effectively increased the expression of ABCG-2, Bmi-1, and Ki67, while decreasing that of CK3/12. The mitogenic effect of SPARC on LESCs was found to be mediated by the phosphorylation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and p38-MAPK signaling pathways, whereas the inhibitors of JNK and p38 MAPK reduced the marker expression and mitogenic capacity of LESCs. In a corneal injury model, SPARC facilitated corneal epithelial wound healing and promoted the proliferation of p63α-positive cells both in the limbus and in the epithelial healing front. SPARC promotes proliferation while suppressing spontaneous differentiation of LESCs through JNK and p38-MAPK signaling pathways, suggesting that SPARC is a promising factor for the improvement of LESCs culture in vitro and in vivo.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a rare, progressive, and hereditary disorder that leads to the progressive loss of vision and visual field, and in some cases blindness. The specific relationship between RP and glaucoma has been debated for decades. METHODS: In this study, we examined a Han RP family with concomitant angle-closure glaucoma (ACG), performed an inductive analysis of their clinical features and assistant results, and applied whole-exome sequencing (WES) technology for a molecular diagnosis. RESULTS: A novel transversion mutation (c.626 T > A) was identified in the peripherin-2 (PRPH2) gene in the proband, resulting in the substitution of Valine to aspartic acid in codon 209. A full ophthalmic examination showed that the proband with the c.626 T > A mutation had a typical RP manifestation, with close angles; however, the proband's elder brother, who lacked the novel mutation, had a normal fundus and open angles. CONCLUSION: Our results extend the genetic mutation spectrum of PRPH2 in RP, and provide evidence to support a genetic correlation between RP and ACG.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: The ability to suppress inappropriate prepotent response and to overcome the interference of irrelevant information are two important components of inhibitory control. Little is known, however, about the relevant contributions in these two components of inhibitory control to depression. The aim of the present study was to assess the prepotent response inhibition and interference control simultaneously in a group of patients diagnosed with major depression disorder (MDD). METHODS: A clinical group of patients with MDD (n = 41) and a control group of healthy volunteers (n = 39) were recruited and assessed using the stop-signal task and the Flanker task respectively. RESULTS: The results showed longer stop-signal reaction time in patients with MDD in the stop-signal task. Regarding the interference control function, the analysis showed the response accuracy under the incongruent condition was significantly lower in patients with MDD than healthy individuals. CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, patients with MDD showed impairments both in prepotent response inhibition and interference control. The present findings provide a better understanding of the mechanism of depression-related deficits in inhibition and have great implications for the development of cognitive training programmes to remediate cognitive dysfunction in depression.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: Recent theories in cognitive psychology suggest that working memory (WM) processing involves a set of specific functions, in particular the WM functions of maintenance and interference control. Previous findings on WM impairments in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) had been inconsistent, partly because earlier studies did not take into account these two different functions of WM. METHOD: Forty-two participants with MDD and 39 controls completed the visuospatial change detection task. We estimated the WM function of maintenance, based on performance in trials using the targets only, and the WM function of interference control, based on performance in trials with distractor rectangles. RESULTS: Our results showed that participants with MDD had poorer WM function of maintenance and interference control than controls. However, the results of filtering efficiency did not show significant group difference, thus patients with MDD showed comparable impairments in WM function of maintanance as well as in WM function of interference control. CONCLUSION: Our findings suggested that patients with MDD appear to show generalised impairments on visuospatial WM function of maintenance and interference control. Future studies should use refined paradigms to assess the different functions of WM and their distinctive contributions to symptomatology of depression.

RESUMEN

Antibiotics and nanoplastics are two prevalent pollutants in oceans, posing a great threat to marine ecosystems. As antibiotics and nanoplastics are highly bioconcentrated in lower trophic levels, evaluating their impacts on marine organisms via dietary exposure route is of great importance. In this study, the individual and joint effects of dietborne sulfamethazine (SMZ) and nanoplastic fragments (polystyrene, PS) in marine medaka (Oryzias melastigma) were investigated. After 30 days of dietary exposure, 4.62 mg/g SMZ decreased the Chao1 index (60.86% for females and 26.85% for males) and the Shannon index (68.95% for females and 65.05% for males) and significantly altered the structure of gut microbial communities in both sexes. The female fish exposed to 4.62 mg/g SMZ exhibited higher intestinal sod (43.5%), cat (38.5%) and gpx (39.6%) transcripts, indicating oxidative stress in the gut. PS alone at 3.45 mg/g slightly altered the composition of the gut microbiota. Interestingly, the mixture of SMZ and PS caused more modest effects on the gut microbiota and intestinal antioxidant physiology than the SMZ alone, suggesting that the presence of PS might alleviate the intestinal toxicity of SMZ in a scenario of dietary co-exposure. This study helps better understand the risk of antibiotics and nanoplastics to marine ecosystems.

RESUMEN

Seminal plasma is a complex biological fluid containing many metabolites including amino acids, fructose, carbohydrates and lipids Metabolites play important roles in multiple biological processes, but details and significance of the seminal plasma metabolome related to boar fertility are unknown. The aim of the present study was to compare the comprehensive metabolome of seminal plasma from boars with different conception rate after artificial insemination and to identify the potential biomarkers. Semen samples were collected from boars which divided into two groups according to the conception rates in the offspring. Seminal plasma metabolites were isolated, purified, and then subjected to Ultra-high Performance Liquid Chromatography-Quadrupole Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (UHPLC-qTOF-MS) procession. A total of 576 (Positive ion mode) and 377 (Negative ion mode) metabolites were identified in seminal plasma. Metabolites were identified and categorized according to their major chemical classes, including carboxylic acids and derivatives, organooxygen compounds, amino acids, peptides, and alogues, fatty amides, fatty acyls, benzene and substituted derivatives, purine nucleotides, pyrimidine nucleotides, glycosyl compounds, fatty acids and conjugates. The results showed that 4-Aminobenzoate, Pro-Asn, Ile-Tyr, Homoveratric acid and D-Biotin were higher in semen of boar with higher conception rate (HG) versus lower conception rate (LG) (p < .05), whereas L-Serine, Butoxyacetic acid, S-Methyl-5'-thioadenosine, Capsaicin and 1-O-(cis-9-Octadecenyl)-2-O-acetyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (PAF) were lower in HG than in LG (p < .05). These metabolites may be considered as candidate biomarkers for different fertility in boars.

RESUMEN

Polyvinyl chloride microplastics (PVC-MPs) are emerging contaminants affecting biological wastewater treatment processes. However, most of the previous studies mainly focused on their short-term impacts on floc sludge, with little work being conducted to explore their potential effects on more complex anaerobic granular sludge (AGS), which has been widely used for high-strength organic wastewater treatment. In this paper, the long-term effects of PVC-MPs on AGS were investigated via continuous feeding tests that are representative of real wastewater treatment processes. The results of a continuous 264 days test showed that the prolonged exposure of PVC-MPs at 15-150 MPs·L-1 significantly (p = 7.86 × 10-37, 3.44 × 10-43, and 5.29 × 10-46) inhibited the COD removal efficiency of AGS by 13.2%-35.5%, accompanied by a 11.0%-32.3% decreased production of methane and 40.3%-272.7% increased accumulation of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). In addition, the PVC-MPs exposure suppressed the secretion of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), causing AGS and the inside microorganisms to lose the protection of EPS, thereby resulting in granule breakage and decreased cells viability. Aligning with the deteriorated performance, the long-term exposure of PVC-MPs reduced the total microbial populations and the relative abundances of key methanogens and acidogens. A toxicity mechanism assessment revealed that the negative impacts induced by PVC-MPs are mainly attributed to the toxic leachate and excess oxidative stress.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: We report a case of spontaneous resolution of a traumatic cataract in a patient with an open-globe ocular injury. This case highlights the importance of conservative management in these types of cases, as excellent visual outcome is possible without invasive surgical intervention. CASE PRESENTATION: A 13-year-old boy presented with a corneal laceration in the left eye caused by a neuter pen. He underwent emergency repair of the corneal laceration under general anesthesia, and at 3 days post-op, a dense posterior cortical cataract was observed. Based on the patient's age and normal visual development, in addition to preserving accommodative potential, the patient received conservative management and follow-up. Interestingly, the cataract spontaneously resolved over the following 9 months and the corrected distance visual acuity in the injured eye was restored from finger counting at 50 cm, to 20/25 + 3. CONCLUSIONS: To optimize treatment in pediatric traumatic cataract, several critical factors such as age, visual development and the preservation of accommodative potential, need to be comprehensively considered. Conservative management with lens preservation is important to consider in young, traumatic cataract patients where invasive surgical intervention may not be required.

RESUMEN

An effective dispersant, oleyl phosphate (OP), for the dispersion of poly(urea-formaldehyde)-based microcapsules in a typical epoxy coating material is proposed. Based on electron microscopy observations and rheological and mechanical characterizations, it is observed that the addition of merely 0.5 wt % of OP is sufficient to obtain good dispersion of the microcapsules in the epoxy. In the self-healing and anticorrosion experiments, a microcapsule content of at least 15 wt % is required to efficiently restore the epoxy matrix and provide corrosion protection to underlying low-carbon steel when the particles are not dispersed; however, the amount of microcapsules required to obtain good self-healing and anticorrosion efficiencies can be greatly reduced to only 5 wt % when the microcapsules are dispersed by OP.

RESUMEN

Microalgae are arguably the most abundant single-celled eukaryotes and are widely distributed in oceans and freshwater lakes. Moreover, microalgae are widely used in biotechnology to produce bioenergy and high-value products such as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), bioactive peptides, proteins, antioxidants and so on. In general, genetic editing techniques were adapted to increase the production of microalgal metabolites. The main genome editing tools available today include zinc finger nucleases (ZFNs), transcriptional activator-like effector nucleases (TALENs), and the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/Cas nuclease system. Due to its high genome editing efficiency, the CRISPR/Cas system is emerging as the most important genome editing method. In this review, we summarized the available literature on the application of CRISPR/Cas in microalgal genetic engineering, including transformation methods, strategies for the expression of Cas9 and sgRNA, the CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene knock-in/knock-out strategies, and CRISPR interference expression modification strategies.

RESUMEN

In order to investigate the genetic variations and the clinical manifestations of a range of congenital ectrodactyly family and to summarize the split hand/foot malformation (SHFM) types and their related pathogenic genes, we conducted phenotypic analyses of patient's limbs by physical and X-ray examination. The haplotypes were analyzed by using the extracted genes from peripheral blood on D10S1709, D10S192, D10S597, D10S1693 and D10S587 loci, and the mutation duplication loci were confirmed by Array-CGH detection. The pathogenic factors and inheritance pattern of SHFM were analyzed based on family investigation and gene analysis. Results demonstrate the proband's phenotype is typically of a congenital SHFM which is manifested by missing bilateral index and middle fingers, short bilateral thumbs, deformed left ring finger with webbing of the skin missing at the middle finger; bilateral big toe with the second and the third toe missing, fourth and fifth toe fusion leading to a deformed toe separated from the first toe by the middle of the foot. The haplotype analyses show that there is a repeat of at least 610 kb in chromosome 10q24.31-10q24.32 region. Array-CGH analysis shows 10q24.31 (102 832 650-103 511 083) ×3. Our results demonstrate that the pathogenic gene variation of ectrodactyly in this family is due to duplication of 10q24.31 (102 832 650~103 511 083). The haplotype 165-251-289-219-102 can be used as a disease marker for detecting 10q24.31~10q24.32 allele for SHFM.

RESUMEN

Spinal cord injury (SCI) often results in death of spinal neurons and atrophy of muscles which they govern. Thus, following SCI, reorganizing the lumbar spinal sensorimotor pathways is crucial to alleviate muscle atrophy. Tail nerve electrical stimulation (TANES) has been shown to activate the central pattern generator (CPG) and improve the locomotion recovery of spinal contused rats. Electroacupuncture (EA) is a traditional Chinese medical practice which has been proven to have a neural protective effect. Here, we examined the effects of TANES and EA on lumbar motor neurons and hindlimb muscle in spinal transected rats, respectively. From the third day postsurgery, rats in the TANES group were treated 5 times a week and those in the EA group were treated once every other day. Four weeks later, both TANES and EA showed a significant impact in promoting survival of lumbar motor neurons and expression of choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) and ameliorating atrophy of hindlimb muscle after SCI. Meanwhile, the expression of neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) in the same spinal cord segment was significantly increased. These findings suggest that TANES and EA can augment the expression of NT-3 in the lumbar spinal cord that appears to protect the motor neurons as well as alleviate muscle atrophy.

RESUMEN

The mudskipper Boleophthalmus pectinirostris is a burrow-dwelling fish inhabiting intertidal mudflats. During the spawning season, in a spawning chamber located at the center of their burrow, a pair of male and female fish mate and fertilized eggs adheres onto the inner walls and ceiling with filamentous attachments. During 5 days of incubation, the fertilized eggs are kept clean and hatch with a very high hatching rate under the natural conditions filled with microorganisms. This suggests that the male and/or female reproductive tract may synthesize antimicrobial substances to offer protection against microorganisms that may be deleterious to fertility. To study the antimicrobial strategy of this fish in the spawning season, we first cloned the two hepcidin isoforms from B. pectinirostris, and designated them as Hepcidin-1 and Hepcidin-2 based on phylogenetic analyses. Both of these hepcidin isoforms were highly expressed in the liver, but only Hepcidin-1 showed significant change in response to iron overload. Interestingly, these two hepcidin isoforms were expressed in male reproductive tracts, i.e. the testes and seminal vesicles. The monthly expression pattern indicated that Hepcidin-1 transcript levels showed a peak point only in March (before spawning) in the seminal vesicle, while Hepcidin-2 transcript levels were correlated with male reproductive status and reached their highest level in May (the peak spawning period). Under experimental conditions, the expression of these two hepcidin isoforms showed no response to iron overload in the male gonad. However, after lipopolysaccharide injection, the Hepcidin-1 transcript level was significantly up-regulated in the testes and seminal vesicle 6 h post injection, while Hepcidin-2 transcript levels exhibited a clear time-course dependent upregulation pattern and reached the highest levels 24 h post injection. More interestingly, after injection with LHRH-A3, the expression of Hepcidin-2 was significantly up-regulated in both testes and seminal vesicle. Results from in situ hybridization showed that Hepcidin-2 was expressed in the Leydig cells of the testes and in the epithelium of the seminal vesicle. Taken together, the results from our study indicated that these two hepcidin isoforms in the mudskipper may have different functions: Hepcidin-1 may play a dual role in both iron metabolism regulation in the liver and a short antimicrobial response in male reproductive tracts, while Hepcidin-2 is more specialized in reproductive immunity in male reproductive tracts.

RESUMEN

Our previous studies suggested that 17α,20ß-dihydroxy-4-pregnen-3-one (DHP), an oocyte maturation inducing progestin, also acts as a sex pheromone in Chinese black sleeper Bostrichthys sinensis, a fish species that inhabits intertidal zones and mates and spawns inside a muddy burrow. The electro-olfactogram response to DHP increased during the breeding season. In the present study, we cloned the cDNAs of the nine progestin receptors (pgr, paqr5, 6, 7(a, b), 8, 9, pgrmc1, 2) from B. sinensis, analyzed their tissue distribution, and determined the expression in the olfactory rosette during the reproductive cycle in female and male fish. The deduced amino acid sequences of the nine progestin receptors share high sequence identities with those of other fish species and relatively lower homology with their mammalian counterparts, and phylogenetic analyses classified the nine B. sinensis progestin receptors into their respective progestin receptor groups. Tissue distribution of B. sinensis progestin receptors showed differential expression patterns, but all these nine genes were expressed in the olfactory rosette. Interestingly, paqr5 mRNA was found in the intermediate and basal parts of the olfactory epithelium but not in the central core using in situ hybridization, and its expression level was the highest in the olfactory rosette among the tissues examined. These results suggested Paqr5 may have an important role for transmitting progestin signaling in the olfactory system. The expression levels of paqr7a and paqr7b, pgr and pgrmc2 mRNA peaked around the mid meiotic stage, and that of paqr8 peaked at late meiotic stage in the olfactory rosette in males, while the olfactory expression of paqr5 decreased gradually as spermatogenesis progressed. In contrast, the expression of the progestin receptors did not change significantly during the development of the ovary in the olfactory rosette in females, except that of pgr. Interestingly, the changes of paqr8 expression in the olfactory rosette in males mirrored the changes of plasma DHP levels in females during the reproductive cycle, suggesting the Paqr8 may also be important for deciphering progestin signaling released by female. To our knowledge, this is the first time to demonstrate the presence of all known progestin receptors in a teleost olfactory rosette, and to show different expressions between the males and females during the reproductive cycle. This study provides the first evidence on changes of all purported progestin receptors during a reproductive cycle in teleost olfactory rosette, and suggests that distinct olfactory sensitivities to DHP may be due to the changes and compositions of each progestin receptor in B. sinensis.

RESUMEN

In order to investigate the effect of long-term (19912013) K fertilizer deficiency and surplus on potassium-bearing mineral and K nutrition of purple soil-soil primary, clay mineral composition and potassium (K) nutrition were determined on the long-term experiment of fertility and fertilizer efficiency in neutral purple soil by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis technique. Five soil samples were selected from soil samples library for soil mineral analysis, including original soil, which preserved in 1991 before the experiment carrying out; K deficient treatment for 12 years and 22 years, which means no K fertilizer was applied during 19912003 and 19912013, respectively; and K surplus treatment for 12 years and 22 years, which means excess K fertilizer was applied during 19912003 and 19912013, separately. The result showed that, soil potassium-bearing primary mineral, such as mica, potassium feldspar, had apparently weathered and slaked for the K deficient treatment and the weathered extent gradually aggravated following fertilization ages, demonstrating fertilization for 22 years<12years
