BACKGROUND: Recent studies have confirmed an association between pain and dementia. Whether musculoskeletal pain in the spine, upper limbs, and lower limbs is associated with dementia risk remains unclear. The longitudinal effect of musculoskeletal pain on dementia risk also remains unclear. AIMS: This work aimed to investigate the association between musculoskeletal pain and dementia risk score. METHODS: We conducted cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses using data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study. Participants aged 45 years or older were recruited in 2011. A total of 10,759 participants with complete pain information at baseline were eligible for the cross-sectional analysis, and 5,855 were eligible for the longitudinal analyses. We utilized the Rotterdam Study Basic Dementia Risk Model (BDRM) to assess dementia risk. Generalized estimating equations were used to investigate the associations. RESULTS: Compared with participants without persistent musculoskeletal pain, those with persistent musculoskeletal pain (standardized, ß = 0.83; 95 % CI: 0.06, 1.61, p = 0.036), multisite pain (sites≧5; ß = 1.52; 95 % CI: 0.13, 2.91, p = 0.032), neck pain (ß = 2.33; 95 % CI: 0.41, 4.25, p = 0.018), back pain (ß = 2.12; 95 % CI: 0.43, 3.82, p = 0.014), waist pain (ß = 1.09; 95 % CI: 0.07, 2.11, p = 0.037), shoulder pain (ß = 1.74; 95 % CI: 0.46, 3.02, p = 0.008), wrist pain (ß = 2.72; 95 % CI: 0.42, 5.02, p = 0.021), and knee pain (ß = 1.91; 95 % CI: 0.70, 3.13, p = 0.002) had a higher BDRM score during 4 years of follow-up. CONCLUSIONS: Promoting the management of musculoskeletal pain may be beneficial in reducing the dementia risk score.

Although recent advances in systemic chemotherapy have improved the clinical outcomes of gastric cancer patients with peritoneal metastasis, the peritoneum still represents a common site of treatment failure and disease recurrence. Neoadjuvant intraperitoneal-systemic chemotherapy has been acknowledged as a more aggressive treatment for gastric cancer patients with peritoneal metastasis. In this multicenter phase III randomized controlled trial, 238 patients will be randomly separated into two groups in a 2:1 ratio after laparoscopic exploration. The experimental arm will receive the proposed neoadjuvant intraperitoneal-systemic chemotherapy regimen, whereas the control group will receive a Paclitaxel + S-1 (PS) chemotherapy regimen. The endpoints for the study are overall survival, response rate, gastrectomy radicality rate, progression-free survival and adverse events.


Recent advances in technology have improved the outcomes of stomach cancer patients. However, there are still many patients who die of cancer that has spread from another part of the body. Neoadjuvant intraperitoneal­systemic chemotherapy has been acknowledged as a more aggressive treatment for stomach cancer patients with peritoneal metastasis (cancer that has spread to the very thin layer of tissue on the inside of the abdomen that covers the stomach and other organs). In this study, 238 patients will be randomly separated into two groups in a 2:1 ratio after evaluation. The experimental group will receive the proposed neoadjuvant intraperitoneal­systemic chemotherapy regimen, whereas the control group will receive a Paclitaxel + S-1 (PS) chemotherapy regimen. The endpoints for the study are how long patients live, number of patients who respond to treatment, number of patients who undergo surgery, how long patients live without their disease getting worse and problems caused by treatment. Although gastric cancer with para-aortic lymph node (PAN) metastasis is commonly regarded as unresectable, surgeons have explored the optimal treatment for patients with PAN metastases limited to No.16a2/b1 in the past few decades. Preoperative systemic therapy combined with D2 gastrectomy plus PAN dissection may improve the prognosis of these patients. In this multicenter phase II trial, 29 gastric cancer patients with PAN metastasis limited to No.16a2/b1 will receive preoperative treatment with nab-paclitaxel, oxaliplatin, S-1 (nab-POS: nab-paclitaxel, oxaliplatin, S-1) and sintilimab followed by D2 gastrectomy plus PAN dissection; and postoperative treatment with oral S-1, intravenous sintilimab and intraperitoneal paclitaxel. The end points for the study are 3-year overall survival, 3-year disease-free survival, pathological response rate, incidence of postoperative complications and adverse events.


Stomach cancer with metastases in the para-aortic lymph nodes is usually considered inoperable. Chemotherapy combined with resection of the stomach and more extensive lymph node dissection may prolong the life of these patients. In this multicenter study, 29 stomach cancer patients with para-aortic lymph node metastases will receive preoperative treatment with nab-paclitaxel, oxaliplatin, S-1 and sintilimab, followed by resection of the stomach combined with para-aortic lymph node dissection and use of continued oral, intravenous and intraperitoneal chemotherapy. The study's end points are 3-year overall survival, 3-year disease-free survival, pathological response rate, incidence of postoperative complications and adverse events. Chemicals underlying the floral aroma of dry teas needs multi-dimensional investigations. Green, black, and freeze-dried tea samples were produced from five tea cultivars, and only 'Chunyu2' and 'Jinguanyin' dry teas had floral scents. 'Chunyu2' green tea contained the highest content of total volatiles (134.75 µg/g) among green tea samples, while 'Jinguanyin' black tea contained the highest content of total volatiles (1908.05 µg/g) among black tea samples. The principal component analysis study showed that 'Chunyu2' and 'Jinguanyin' green teas and 'Chunyu2' black tea were characterized by the abundant presence of certain alcohols with floral aroma, while 'Jinguanyin' black tea was discriminated due to the high levels of certain alcohols, esters, and aldehydes. A total of 27 shared volatiles were present in different tea samples, and the contents of 7 floral odorants in dry teas had correlations with those in fresh tea leaves (p < 0.05). Thus, the tea cultivar is crucial to the floral scent of dry tea, and these seven volatiles could be promising breeding indices.

RESUMEN

Although complete omentectomy is traditionally performed in patients with gastric cancer as part of radical gastrectomy to ensure the elimination of micrometastases, the prognostic value of omentectomy during gastrectomy remains unclear. Retrospective studies have shown that the incidence of metastases in the greater omentum is very low in T1-T3 gastric cancer. Thus radical gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy and preservation of the greater omentum may be a proper curative treatment for gastric cancer patients with T1-T3 tumors. The aim of this article is to describe the design and rationale for this prospective, randomized controlled DRAGON-05 trial, conducted to evaluate the prognostic value of omentum-preserving gastrectomy for patients with T1-T3 gastric cancer. BACKGROUND: Even though treatment modalities such as adjuvant systemic radio-chemotherapy and neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) have individually have improved overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) rates in advanced Gastric Cancer (AGC), the peritoneum still presides as a common site of treatment failure and disease recurrence. The role of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) has been acknowledged as prophylaxis for peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) in AGC patients and in this study, we aim at investigating the safety and efficacy of the combination of neoadjuvant laparoscopic HIPEC (NLHIPEC) with NAC in the neoadjuvant phase followed by surgery of curative intent with intraoperative HIPEC followed by adjuvant chemotherapy (AC). METHODS: In this multicenter Phase III randomized controlled trial, 326 patients will be randomly separated into 2 groups into a 1:1 ratio after laparoscopic exploration. The experiment arm will receive the proposed comprehensive Dragon II regimen while the control group will undergo standard R0 D2 followed by 8 cycles of AC with oxaliplatin with S-1 (SOX) regimen. The Dragon II regimen comprises of 1 cycle of NLHIPEC for 60mins at 43 ± 0.5 °C with 80 mg/m2 of Paclitaxel followed by 3 cycles of NAC with SOX regimen and after assessment, standard R0 D2 gastrectomy with intraoperative HIPEC followed by 5 cycles of SOX regimen chemotherapy. The end-points for the study are 5 year PFS, 5 year OS, peritoneal metastasis rate (PMR) and morbidity rate. DISCUSSION: This study is one of the first to combine NLHIPEC with NAC in the preoperative phase which is speculated to provide local management of occult peritoneal carcinomatosis or peritoneal free cancer cells while NAC will promote tumor downsizing and down-staging. The addition of the intraoperative HIPEC is speculated to manage dissemination due to surgical trauma. Where the roles of intraoperative HIPEC and NAC have individually been investigated, this study provides innovative insight on a more comprehensive approach to management of AGC at high risk of peritoneal recurrence. It is expected that the combination of NLHIPEC with NAC and HIPEC will increase PFS by 15% and decrease PMR after gastrectomy of curative intent. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The rarity of duodenal gastrointestinal stromal tumors (DGIST) led to only limited data being available on their management and prognosis. We retrospectively analyzed the clinicopathological features, surgical treatments, adjuvant therapy, and prognosis of DGIST. METHODS: Sixty-one patients were identified at diagnosis of primary DGIST from February 2005 to December 2015. One hundred twenty six patients with small intestinal gastrointestinal stromal tutors (GIST) were selected as control groups. Survival analyses were calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method. RESULTS: Three- and five-year recurrence/metastasis-free survival rates of patients with DGIST were similar to those of patients with small intestinal GIST (p > 0.05 for all). Out of 61 cases with DGIST, 45 patients were treated with Limited Resection (LR). Sixteen patients were treated with Pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD). The 3- and 5-year recurrence/metastasis-free survival rates of the PD group and LR group were of no significant difference (p > 0.05 for all). Univariate analysis indicated that factors including surgical approaches, mitotic count, size, and risk grades were significantly associated with recurrence/metastasis-free survival (log-rank test, p < 0.05). Multivariate analysis demonstrated that the mitotic count was independently correlated with a worse recurrence/metastasis-free survival. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with radical resected DGIST had a favourable prognosis, which is similar to that of small intestinal GIST. Both LR and PD were optimal choices for treating DGIST.

Neuropathic pain (NP) resulting from a lesion or disease of the somatosensory system can lead to loss of function and reduced life quality. Neuroinflammation plays a vital role in the development and maintenance of NP. Exercise as an economical, effective, and nonpharmacological treatment, recommended by clinical practice guidelines, has been proven to alleviate chronic NP. Previous studies have shown that exercise decreases NP by modifying inflammation; however, the exact mechanisms of exercise-mediated NP are unclear. Therefore, from the perspective of neuroinflammation, this review mainly discussed the effects of exercise on inflammatory cytokines in different parts of NP conduction pathways, such as the brain, spinal cord, dorsal root ganglion, sciatic nerve, and blood in rat/mice models. Results suggested that exercise training could modulate neuroinflammation, inhibit astrocyte glial cell proliferation and microglial activation, alter the macrophage phenotype, reduce the expression of proinflammatory cytokines, increase anti-inflammatory cytokine levels, and positively modulate the state of the immune system, thereby relieving NP.

Neuropathic pain (NP) is a chronic pain caused by injury or disease of the somatosensory nervous system, or it can be directly caused by disease. It often presents with clinical features like spontaneous pain, hyperalgesia, and dysesthesia. At present, voltage-gated calcium ion channels (VGCCs) are known to be closely related to the development of NP, especially the α2δ subunit. The α2δ subunit is a regulatory subunit of VGCCs. It exists mainly in the brain and peripheral nervous system, especially in nerve cells, and it plays a crucial part in regulating presynaptic and postsynaptic functions. Furthermore, the α2δ subunit influences neuronal excitation and pain signaling by promoting its expression and localization through binding to VGCC-related subunits. The α2δ subunit is widely used in the management of NP as a target of antiepileptic drugs gabapentin and pregabalin. Although drug therapy is one of the treatments for NP, its clinical application is limited due to the adverse reactions caused by drug therapy. Therefore, further research on the therapeutic target α2δ subunit is needed, and attempts are made to obtain an effective treatment for relieving NP without side effects. This review describes the current associated knowledge on the function of the α2δ subunit in perceiving and modulating NP.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common tumors of the digestive system worldwide. KRAS mutations limit the use of anti-EGFR antibodies in combination with chemotherapy for the treatment of CRC. Therefore, novel targeted therapies are needed to overcome the KRAS-induced oncogenesis. Recent evidence suggests that inhibition of PI3K led to ferroptosis, a nonapoptotic cell death closely related to KRAS-mutant cells. Here, we showed that a selective PI3Kδ inhibitor TYM-3-98 can suppress the AKT/mTOR signaling and activate the ferroptosis pathway in KRAS-mutant CRC cells in a concentration-dependent manner. This was evidenced by the lipid peroxidation, iron accumulation, and depletion of GSH. Moreover, the overexpression of the sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP1), a downstream transcription factor regulating lipid metabolism, conferred CRC cells greater resistance to ferroptosis induced by TYM-3-98. In addition, the effect of TYM-3-98 was confirmed in a xenograft mouse model, which demonstrated significant tumor suppression without obvious hepatoxicity or renal toxicity. Taken together, our work demonstrated that the induction of ferroptosis contributed to the PI3Kδ inhibitor-induced cell death via the suppression of AKT/mTOR/SREBP1-mediated lipogenesis, thus displaying a promising therapeutic effect of TYM-3-98 in CRC treatment.

AIMS: PI3Kδ is expressed predominately in leukocytes and is commonly found to be aberrantly activated in human B-cell lymphomas. Although PI3Kδ has been intensively targeted for discovering anti-lymphoma drugs, the application of currently approved PI3Kδ inhibitors has been limited due to unwanted systemic toxicities, thus warranting the development of novel PI3Kδ inhibitors with new scaffolds. MAIN METHODS: We designed TYM-3-98, an indazole derivative, and evaluated its selectivity for all four PI3K isoforms, as well as its efficacy against various B-cell lymphomas both in vitro and in vivo. KEY FINDINGS: We identified TYM-3-98 as a highly selective PI3Kδ inhibitor over other PI3K isoforms at both molecular and cellular levels. It showed superior antiproliferative activity in several B-lymphoma cell lines compared with the approved first-generation PI3Kδ inhibitor idelalisib. TYM-3-98 demonstrated a concentration-dependent PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling blockage followed by apoptosis induction. In vivo, TYM-3-98 showed good pharmaceutical properties and remarkably reduced tumor growth in a human lymphoma xenograft model and a mouse lymphoma model. SIGNIFICANCE: Our findings establish TYM-3-98 as a promising PI3Kδ inhibitor for the treatment of B-cell lymphoma.

Tea plant is susceptible to low temperature, while the cold injury recovery mechanisms of tea leaves are still unclear. Windbreak has an effective and gradient range of protecting tea plants. Tea plants with increasing cold damage degree have varying recovery status accordingly, which are the ideal objects for investigating the cold injury recovery mechanisms of tea leaves. Here, we investigated the transcriptome and phytohormone profiles of tea leaves with different cold injury degrees in recovery (adjacent to the windbreak), and the levels of chlorophylls, malondialdehyde, major phytohormones as well as the activities of peroxidase (POD) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were also measured. The results showed the content of total chlorophylls and the activity of POD in mature tea leaves gradually decreased with the distance to windbreak, while SOD showed the opposite. The major phytohormones were highly accumulated in the moderately cold-injured tea leaves. The biosynthesis of abscisic acid (ABA) was enhanced in the moderate cold damaged tea leaves, suggesting that ABA plays an important role in the cold response and resistance of tea plants. The transcriptomic result showed that the samples in different rows were well discriminated, and the pathways of plant-pathogen interaction and flavonoid biosynthesis were enriched based on KEGG analysis. WRKY, GRAS and NAC were the top classes of transcription factors differentially expressed in the different cold-injured tea leaves. Thus, windbreak is effective to protect adjacent tea plants from cold wave, and phytohormones importantly participate in the cold injury recovery of tea leaves.

Background: Neoadjuvant intraperitoneal and systemic chemotherapy (NIPS) has shown promising results in gastric cancer (GC) with peritoneal metastasis. However, clinical practice experience of NIPS is still lacking in China. In this study, we investigate the efficacy and safety of NIPS in Chinese patients. Methods: Eligible patients received NIPS every 3 weeks. Gastrectomy was performed for patients who met the criteria of conversion surgery. The primary end point was 1-year overall survival (OS) rate. Secondary end points were the response rate, toxic effects, conversion surgery outcomes and median survival time (MST). Results: Sixty-seven patients were enrolled. The primary endpoint was achieved with 1-year OS rate reached 67.2% (95% CI, 56.8%-79.4%). Conversion surgery was performed in 42 patients (62.9%), and R0 resection was achieved in 23 patients (54.8%) with the MST of 31.3 months (95% CI, 24.3-38.3). And the MST was 19.3 months (95% CI, 16.4-22.2) for all patients. Toxicity and surgical complications were well-tolerated. Moreover, sex, R0 resection, pathological nodal stage and tumor regression grade (TRG) were independent prognostic factors for patients who underwent conversion surgery. Conclusion: The NIPS is effective and safe in treating GC patients with peritoneal metastasis. Male patients, patients who underwent R0 resection, patients with ypN0-1 or TRG 1 after conversion surgery are more likely to benefit from the NIPS. An efficient iodine-imine synergistic promoted Povarov-type multicomponent reaction was reported for the synthesis of a practical 2,2'-biquinoline scaffold. The tandem annulation has reconciled iodination, Kornblum oxidation, and Povarov aromatization, where the methyl group of the methyl azaarenes represents uniquely reactive input in the Povarov reaction. This method has broad substrate scope and mild conditions. Furthermore, these 2,2'-biquinoline derivatives had been directly used as bidentate ligands in metal-catalyzed reactions.

BACKGROUND: Trunk function in stroke patients with hemiplegia is associated with respiration and core stability and is also found to be associated with balance and postural control and activities of daily living. LiuZiJue Qigong (LQG) is a traditional Chinese method of fitness based on breath pronunciation. The purpose of this study is to compare the clinical efficacy of LQG and traditional core stability training in the treatment of stroke patients with abnormal trunk posture. This protocol is written according to the SPIRIT 2013 statement. METHODS/DESIGN: This study is a single-center randomized controlled trial in which 160 stroke patients are randomly divided into a study group and a control group. Patients in the study group will receive LQG combined with conventional rehabilitation therapy, and patients in the control group will receive traditional core stability training combined with conventional rehabilitation therapy. All treatments will be done for 45 min/day, five times per week, for 2 weeks. The primary outcome (Trunk Impairment Scale) and secondary outcomes (Berg Balance Scale, Fugl-Meyer Assessment, Modified Barthel Index, Maximum Phonation Time, Dynamic and Static balance testing, and thickness and the mobile degrees of diaphragm) will be measured at baseline, 2 weeks, and the end of the rehabilitation course. DISCUSSION: The aim purpose of this research study is to compare the clinical efficacy of LQG and traditional core stability exercise in the treatment of stroke patients with abnormal trunk posture. Wearable sensors are gradually enabling decentralized healthcare systems. However, these sensors need to be closely attached to skin, which is unsuitable for long-term dynamic health monitoring of the patients, such as infants or persons with burn injuries. Here, a wearable capacitive sensor based on the capacitively coupled effect for healthcare monitoring in noncontact mode is reported. It consists of a ring-shaped top electrode, a disk-shaped bottom electrode, and a porous dielectric layer with low permittivity. This unique design enhanced the capacitively coupled effect of the sensor, which enables a high noncontact detectivity of capacitance change. When an object approaches the sensor, its capacitance change (ΔC/C i = -38.7%) is 3-5 times higher than that of previously reported sensors. Meanwhile, the sensor is insensitive to the stretching strain and pressure (ΔC/C i < 5%) due to the unique ring-shaped electrode and the incompressible closed cells of the porous dielectric material, respectively. Finally, various human physiological signals (pulse and respiratory) are recorded in noncontact mode, where a person wears loose and soft clothes implanted with the sensor. Thus, it is promising to build smart healthcare clothes based on it to develop wearable decentralized healthcare systems.

Surface electromyography (sEMG) sensors are widely used in the fields of ergonomics, sports science, and medical research. However, current sEMG sensors cannot recognize the various exercise intensities efficiently because of the strain interference, low conductivity, and poor skin-conformability of their electrodes. Here, we present a highly conductive, strain-insensitive, and low electrode-skin impedance elastic sEMG electrode, which consists of a three-layered structure (polydimethylsiloxane/galinstan + polydimethylsiloxane/silver-coated nickel + polydimethylsiloxane). The bottom layer of the electrode consists of vertically conductive magnetic particle paths, which are insensitive to stretching strain, collect sEMG charge from human skin, and finally transfer it to processing circuits via an intermediate layer. Our skin-friendly electrode exhibits high conductivity (0.237 and 1.635 mΩ.cm resistivities in transverse and longitudinal directions, respectively), low electrode-skin impedance (47.23 kΩ at 150 Hz), excellent strain-insensitivity (10% change of electrode-skin impedance within the 0%-25% strain range), high fatigue resistance (>1500 cycles), and good conformability with skin. During various exercise intensities, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of our electrode increased by 22.53 dB, which is 206% and 330% more than that of traditional Ag/AgCl and copper electrode, respectively. The ability of our electrode to efficiently recognize various exercise intensities confirms its great application potential for the field of sports health.

PURPOSE: To explore the incidence of recurrent oral ulcer and the relationship with A personality, and to provide evidences for making strategies for oral health education and premunition in universities. METHODS: Stratified cluster sampling was used to select 492 college students in Gannan Medical University. They were investigated with the question about occurrence of recurrent oral ulcers in the past year and the questionnaire of type A behavior. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, t test and Logistic test using SPSS 19.0 software package. RESULTS: The results showed that only 109(22.15%) students had no recurrent oral ulcer. The proportion of type A personality students were significantly higher than M and type B students. Students with or without recurrent oral ulcer in the past year had significant difference in TH+CH(t=4.596,P<0.001),TH (t=4.145,P<0.001), CH(t=3.781,P<0.001).The risk factors of recurrent oral ulcer with college students was type A personality(OR=2.322,CI=1.355-3.980,P=0.002). CONCLUSIONS: College students have a higher incidence of recurrent oral ulcer. Type A personality is one of the important factors for recurrent oral ulcer in college students.

Ionospheric tomography has been widely employed in imaging the large-scale ionospheric structures at both quiet and storm times. However, the tomographic algorithms to date have not been very effective in imaging of medium- and small-scale ionospheric structures due to limitations of uneven ground-based data distributions and the algorithm itself. Further, the effect of the density and quantity of Global Navigation Satellite Systems data that could help improve the tomographic results for the certain algorithm remains unclear in much of the literature. In this paper, a new multipass tomographic algorithm is proposed to conduct the inversion using intensive ground GPS observation data and is demonstrated over the U.S. West Coast during the period of 16-18 March 2015 which includes an ionospheric storm period. The characteristics of the multipass inversion algorithm are analyzed by comparing tomographic results with independent ionosonde data and Center for Orbit Determination in Europe total electron content estimates. Then, several ground data sets with different data distributions are grouped from the same data source in order to investigate the impact of the density of ground stations on ionospheric tomography results. Finally, it is concluded that the multipass inversion approach offers an improvement. The ground data density can affect tomographic results but only offers improvements up to a density of around one receiver every 150 to 200 km. When only GPS satellites are tracked there is no clear advantage in increasing the density of receivers beyond this level, although this may change if multiple constellations are monitored from each receiving station in the future.

BACKGROUND: Sanguis draxonis (SD) is a kind of red resin obtained from the wood of Dracaena cochinchinensis (Lour.) S. C. Chen (D. cochinchinensis). The active components of total flavonoids from SD (SDF) have analgesic effect. AIM: The aim of this study is to evaluate the analgesic effects and potential mechanism of SDF on mechanical hypersensitivity induced by spared nerve injury (SNI) model of neuropathic pain in the rat. METHODS: SNI model in rats was established and then the rats were treated with SDF intragastric administration for 14 days. Paw withdrawal mechanical threshold (PMWT) in response to mechanical stimulation was measured by von Frey filaments on day 1 before operation and days 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 14 after operation, respectively. After 14 days, we measured the levels of nitric oxide (NO), nitric oxide synthase (NOS), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1ß (IL-1ß) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) in the spinal dorsal horn. In addition, the expression of fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3), phosphorylated cyclic AMP response element-binding protein (p-CREB) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) of the spinal dorsal horn was evaluated by western blotting and an immunofluorescence histochemical method, respectively. RESULTS: Intragastric administration of SDF (100, 200, 400 mg/kg) alleviated significantly SNI-induced mechanical hypersensitivity, as PMWT increased in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, SDF not only reduced the level of NO, NOS, TNF-α and IL-1ß, but also upregulated the level of IL-10 in the spinal dorsal horn of SNI rats. At the same time, SDF (100, 200, 400 mg/kg) could inhibit the expression of FGFR3, GFAP and p-CREB in the spinal dorsal horn. CONCLUSION: SDF has potentially reduced mechanical hypersensitivity induced by SNI model of neuropathic pain which may be attributed to inhibition of astrocytic function (like release pro-inflammatory cytokines) and NO release as well as p-CREB activation in the spinal dorsal horn.
