RESUMEN

STUDY QUESTION: Is parity associated with all-cause and cause-specific mortality among women in a nationally representative cohort of the US population, and does depression mediate this association? SUMMARY ANSWER: Nulliparous women have a higher risk of all-cause and cause-specific mortality, with depression partially mediating the relationship between parity and women's all-cause and cause-specific mortality. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY: Parity, a significant state in reproductive life, has enduring implications for women's health. There is also a complex relationship between depression, a prevalent mental and emotional disorder, and female fertility. Previous studies have elucidated the relationships between parity and depression, both of which are associated with mortality. However, findings from studies examining parity and women's mortality have been inconsistent. Moreover, few studies have investigated whether the effect of parity on mortality is mediated by depression. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION: We conducted a cross-sectional study using data from seven cycles of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) spanning 2005-2018. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS: The study cohort comprised adult women with available parity and survival follow-up data. Parity data were self-reported and sourced from the Reproductive Health Questionnaire. Depression scores were derived from the Patient Health Questionnaire 9, and cause-specific deaths were identified using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10). Weighted multivariable Cox regression was applied to analyze the association between parity, depression, and mortality. Weighted linear regression was performed to examine the relationship between parity and depression. Mediation analyses were employed to determine whether and to what extent depression mediated the effect of parity on mortality. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE: Our study ultimately encompassed 16 962 American women. Following multivariable adjustment, compared to nulliparous women, those with one to three live births exhibited a 17% and 33% reduction in all-cause and cancer mortality, respectively (all-cause mortality: HR = 0.83, 95% CI = 0.69-0.99, P = 0.040; cancer mortality: HR = 0.67, 95% CI = 0.45-0.99, P = 0.045). Women with more than four live births demonstrated lower all-cause mortality and mortality from other (not cancer or cardiovascular disease) diseases (all-cause mortality: HR = 0.73, 95% CI = 0.58-0.93, P = 0.011; other diseases mortality: HR = 0.66, 95% CI = 0.47-0.91, P = 0.013). No correlation was detected between parity and the risk of cardiovascular disease mortality among women. Furthermore, depression was found to partially mediate the impact of parity on all-cause mortality and mortality from other diseases in women. LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION: Firstly, a single index of parity was used as an exposure factor, and other reproductive factors such as birth spacing, age at first birth, and mode of delivery were not taken into account. Secondly, despite accounting for important potentially confounders in our analysis, such as BMI, smoking status, and educational level, the influence of unmeasured confounders (e.g., social class, latent reproductive system diseases) on reproductive behavior or mortality cannot be dismissed. Thirdly, women's vulnerability to depression fluctuates across reproductive stages, and the effect of depression on female fertility varies over time. Due to data constraints, we were unable to obtain information on women's mental health status at different reproductive stages. Fourthly, due to the data accessibility limitations of NHANES, we were unable to specifically explore the relationship between parity and different specific types of cancer, a limitation that may obscure potential correlations. Additionally, despite our efforts to control for various confounding factors in subgroup analyses, the smaller sample sizes in some subgroups may limit the statistical power, affecting the ability to detect effects. Finally, studies exploring the association between parity and depression are cross-sectional designs, making it difficult to infer causality. These results should be interpreted with caution, and further research is warranted to corroborate our findings. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS: Our study underscores the elevated risk of all-cause and cause-specific mortality in nulliparous women and reveals that depression partially mediates the negative correlation between parity and women's all-cause mortality and mortality from other diseases. These results should be interpreted with caution, and further investigation is needed to support our findings. Primary lymphoma of the female genital tract (PLFGT) is a rare type of extranodal lymphoma. In this retrospective study from the International Extranodal Lymphoma Study Group, we analyzed clinical data from 60 women diagnosed with PLFGT between 1982 and 2012. The median age was 52 years. Limited stage, as defined by the Ann Arbor and FIGO staging systems, was observed in 55% and 63% of cases, respectively. The uterus was the primary site of lymphoma in 25 cases, with the ovaries as the second most common site (n = 24). The most common histological subtype was diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL, n = 44), followed by follicular lymphoma and marginal zone lymphoma (6 patients each). Two patients received surgery alone as first-line therapy, while 58 underwent systemic therapy, 16 following major surgery. Thirteen patients received consolidation radiotherapy and six were given central nervous system (CNS) prophylaxis. Twenty patients had disease progression or recurrence. Six patients with DLBCL (14%) experienced CNS relapse, which was the only site of recurrence in five of them. All but one patient with CNS relapse had primary ovarian involvement, and three had bulky disease; none of these patients had received CNS prophylaxis. With a median follow-up of 60 months, the median overall survival of the DLBCL cohort was approximately 13 years, with a 5-year survival rate of 77%. In multivariable analysis, advanced disease according to the FIGO system was the only parameter significantly associated with shorter overall, cause-specific, and progression-free survival in patients with DLBCL.

The Argonaute family genes (piwi and aub) involved in the production of small RNAs are responsible for the regulation of many cellular processes, including the suppression of genome instability, modulation of gene activity, and transposable elements. Dysfunction of these genes and the associated activation of transposable elements adversely affect reproductive development and quality of life. The role of transposons in contrast to retrotransposons and their interaction with genes of the Argonaute family in aging processes have not been studied. This study considers a scenario in which the piwi and aub genes in the presence of functional hobo transposons can modify the effects from the level of DNA damage to lifespan. The simultaneous presence of mutation (piwi or aub) and hobo (regardless of size) in the genome has practically no effect or (less often) leads to a decrease in the level of DNA damage in ovarian cells. A high level of sterility and low ovarian reserve were noted mainly with a combination of mutations and full-sized hobo elements. The combination of these two genetic factors negatively affects the fertility of young females and embryonic survival. Isolated cases of restoration of reproductive functions with age were noted but only in females that had low fertility in the early period of life. The presence of hobo transposons contributed to an increase in the lifespan of both mutant and non-mutant females. Dysfunction of the piwi and aub genes (without hobo) can reduce the lifespan of both sexes. Together, each mutation and hobo transposons act antagonistically/additively (in females) and synergistically/antagonistically (in males) to change the lifespan. In parameters of locus-specific instability, hobo activation was more pronounced in piwi gene dysfunction. The results obtained complement data on the study of new functions of Argonaute family genes and their interactions with transposable elements in the aging process.

RESUMEN

A captive marmoset developed metastatic endometrioid carcinoma (EnC), a rare uterine tumor in non-human primates (NHPs). The neoplasm showed marked microscopical malignant and tubulopapillary aspects, immunopositivity for pan-cytokeratin, CK7, estrogen receptor, and a high mitotic index (Ki-67). These features may contribute to the diagnosis and therapeutics of EnC in NHPs.

BACKGROUND: To assess the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in the diagnosis of tuberous vas deferens tuberculosis (VD TB) and improve the positive diagnostic rate of VD TB. METHODS: CEUS and routine ultrasound (US) images of 17 patients with tuberous VD TB confirmed by surgery, pathology, or laboratory semen examination were retrospectively analyzed and summarized, and the positive rates of both imaging techniques were compared. RESULTS: The 19 VD lesions of the 17 patients were divided into two types according to the CEUS findings: Type I and Type II, and type II was divided into Types IIa, IIb, and IIc. Of the nodules with transverse diameters > 1 cm, 100% presented as type II. Of the nodules with transverse diameters < 1 cm, 37.5% (3/8) presented as type I and 62.5% (5/8) presented as type II. The sonographic manifestations of tuberous VD TB were hypoechoic and mixed echoic. The positive diagnostic rate was 89.5% for CEUS and 68.4% for US, but the difference was not significant (χ2 = 2.533; P = 0.111). CONCLUSIONS: CEUS was able to show the blood supply characteristics of tuberous VD TB, the internal necrosis of nodules was more easily observed by CEUS than by routine US, which is helpful for the diagnosis of tuberous VD TB.

The cryopreservation and transplantation of ovarian tissue underscore its paramount importance in safeguarding reproductive capacity and ameliorating reproductive disorders. However, challenges persist in ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation (OTC-T), including the risk of tissue damage and dysfunction. Consequently, there has been a compelling exploration into the realm of nanoregulators to refine and enhance these procedures. This review embarks on a meticulous examination of the intricate anatomical structure of the ovary and its microenvironment, thereby establishing a robust groundwork for the development of nanomodulators. It systematically categorizes nanoregulators and delves deeply into their functions and mechanisms, meticulously tailored for optimizing ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation. Furthermore, the review imparts valuable insights into the practical applications and obstacles encountered in clinical settings associated with OTC-T. Moreover, the review advocates for the utilization of microbially derived nanomodulators as a potent therapeutic intervention in ovarian tissue cryopreservation. The progression of these approaches holds the promise of seamlessly integrating nanoregulators into OTC-T practices, thereby heralding a new era of expansive applications and auspicious prospects in this pivotal domain.

The marijuana is considered as widely used recreational illicit drug that has become popular among women of reproductive age. It is believed that the marijuana use may have negative impacts on the female fertility. However, the exact mechanisms of its reproductive toxicity remain unclear. The studies suggest that the exogenous cannabinoids may interfere with endocannabinoid system and disrupt hypothalamic-pituitary-ovary axis. Consequently, it impacts the female fertility by disruption of normal secretion of ovarian sex hormones and menstrual cycles. However, other studies have shown that medical marijuana is useful analgesic agent for pain management. But, given that the wide range of cannabinoids side effects are reported, it seems that caution should be taken in the recreational use of these substances. In summary, this article aimed to review the possible impacts of marijuana and its derivatives on the main female reproductive organs and embryonic growth and development.

Innovative techniques such as the "omics" can be a powerful tool for the understanding of intracellular pathways involved in homeostasis maintenance and identification of new potential therapeutic targets against endocrine-metabolic disorders. Over the last decades, proteomics has been extensively applied in the study of a wide variety of human diseases, including those involving the endocrine system. Among the most endocrine-related disorders investigated by proteomics in humans are diabetes mellitus and thyroid, pituitary, and reproductive system disorders. In diabetes, proteins implicated in insulin signaling, glucose metabolism, and ß-cell activity have been investigated. In thyroid diseases, protein expression alterations were described in thyroid malignancies and autoimmune thyroid illnesses. Additionally, proteomics has been used to investigate the variations in protein expression in adrenal cancers and conditions, including Cushing's syndrome and Addison's disease. Pituitary tumors and disorders including acromegaly and hypopituitarism have been studied using proteomics to examine changes in protein expression. Reproductive problems such as polycystic ovarian syndrome and endometriosis are two examples of conditions where alterations in protein expression have been studied using proteomics. Proteomics has, in general, shed light on the molecular underpinnings of many endocrine-related illnesses and revealed promising biomarkers for both their detection and treatment. The capacity of proteomics to thoroughly and objectively examine complex protein mixtures is one of its main benefits. Mass spectrometry (MS) is a widely used method that identifies and measures proteins based on their mass-to-charge ratio and their fragmentation pattern. MS can perform the separation of proteins according to their physicochemical characteristics, such as hydrophobicity, charge, and size, in combination with liquid chromatography. Other proteomics techniques include protein arrays, which enable the simultaneous identification of several proteins in a single assay, and two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2D-DIGE), which divides proteins depending on their isoelectric point and molecular weight. This chapter aims to summarize the most relevant proteomics data from targeted tissues, as well as the daily rhythmic variation of relevant biomarkers in both physiological and pathophysiological conditions within the involved endocrine system, especially because the actual modern lifestyle constantly imposes a chronic unentrained condition, which virtually affects all the circadian clock systems within human's body, being also correlated with innumerous endocrine-metabolic diseases.

This review covers the general aspects of the anatomy and physiology of the major body systems in digenetic trematodes, with an emphasis on new knowledge of the area acquired since the publication of the second edition of this book in 2019. In addition to reporting on key recent advances in the morphology and physiology of tegumentary, sensory, neuromuscular, digestive, excretory, and reproductive systems, and their roles in host-parasite interactions, this edition includes a section discussing the known and putative roles of bacteria in digenean biology and physiology. Furthermore, a brief discussion of current trends in the development of novel treatment and control strategies based on a better understanding of the trematode body systems and associated bacteria is provided.

The effect of Crocus sativus on several disorders has been discussed or even confirmed, but the efficacy of this herb on the female reproductive system has not been well presented. In this regard, this systematic review comprehensively discussed the efficacy of C. sativus and its main phytochemical compounds on the female reproductive system and its disorders for the first time. In this systematic review, scientific databases, including PubMed, Web of Sciences, Google Scholar, Scopus, and Scientific Information Database, were explored profoundly. In vivo, in vitro, and human studies published until the end of July 2023, which had investigated the pharmacological properties of C. sativus, crocin, crocetin, safranal, or picrocrocin on the female reproductive system, were selected. A total of 50 studies conducted on the effect of C. sativus on the female reproductive system were acquired. These studies confirmed the efficacy of C. sativus or its main phytochemical ingredients in several aspects of the female reproductive system, including regulation of sex hormones, folliculogenesis, ovulation, and protection of the ovary and uterus against several oxidative stress. Several retrieved studies indicated that this herb also can alleviate the symptoms of patients suffering from dysmenorrhea, premenstrual syndrome, menopause, polycystic ovary disease (PCOD), and sexual dysfunction. Furthermore, it is a promising candidate for future studies or even trials regarding ovarian and cervical cancers. This review concluded that C. sativus can improve the symptoms of several female reproductive system disorders, which is particularly due to the presence of phytochemical ingredients, such as crocin, crocetin, and safranal.

We have undertaken a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the association between maternal exposure to air pollutants and outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF). Studies were identified through a comprehensive online search. After standardizing all air pollution concentrations to 10 µg/m3, we analyzed the levels of six air pollutants (PM2.5, PM10, O3, NO2, CO, and SO2) by applying a random effects model. A total of five articles met inclusion criteria upon final reviewing. Exposure to PM10, NO2, and CO was linked to the risk of ectopic pregnancy, while exposure to O3 was found to have a reverse association with biochemical pregnancy. Additionally, our analysis indicated a negative association between exposure to PM10, NO2, CO, and SO2 and live birth rates, as well as between NO2 exposure and intrauterine pregnancy. Our study emphasized the relationship between exposure to ambient air pollution and negative effects on pregnancy outcomes for women undergoing IVF.

OBJECTIVE: Aim: The aim of this article is to present literature data and personal research of the role of D-hormoneon the functioning of the male reproductive system, and more specifically of the prostate gland, as well as the use of this vitamin D during the complex and independent treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia in preclinical studies and clinical practice. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and Methods: The collection of relevant data were done using the scientific databases Pubmed, Google Scholar. A manual search on reproductive endocrinology and pharmacology sources were also conducted for related published studies . Selected keywords ("benign prostatic hyperplasia" OR "BPH") AND ("prostate") AND ("reproductive system and vitamin D") were used to collect data. The article also presents our personal data of preclinical studies and clinical data of the use of vitamin D as monotherapy and in the complex therapy of reproductive disorders. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The effect of vitamin D on prostate volume and BPH has shown perspective results, therefore, it is proposed to conduct further studies on the role of vitamin D in the formation of BPH and reproductive disorders, their prevention and treatment. The use of vitamin D as monotherapy or in the form of pharmaceutical compositions and its inclusion in basic treatment regimens can increase the effectiveness of the prevention and correction of reproductopathies in the presence of or due to BPH and suggests the possibility of restoring the generative potential of individuals with BPH, both with and without D-hypovitaminosis.

PURPOSE: BMP-8a is a member of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) and plays a regulatory role in human growth and development as a transcription regulator. This review aims to summarize the current research on the impact and mechanism of BMP-8a in female and male reproduction, formation and eruption of teeth, bone and cartilage development, tissue differentiation, disease occurrence, progression and prognosis. METHODS: The phrases "BMP-8a," "BMPs," "regulator," "mechanism," "osteoblast," "cartilage," "cancer," "disease," and "inflammation" were searched in the PubMed database. The abstracts were evaluated, and a series of original publications and reviews were examined. RESULTS: According to the search, BMP-8a affects the development of the uterus by inhibiting luteinization and plays an important role in late spermatogenesis. It is highly expressed in osteogenesis and differentially expressed in chondrogenesis. Furthermore, BMP-8a has a significant impact on the occurrence, development and prognosis of various diseases. CONCLUSIONS: BMP-8a regulates important factors and pathways, such as SMAD2/3 and SMAD1/5/8, to promote or inhibit the developmental processes of human reproductive organs. BMP-8a is also a member of the BMP family of proteins that regulates chondrogenesis and osteogenesis. In addition to its osteoinductive capabilities, BMP-8a is involved in the progression of diverse cancers.

High-fat diet (HFD) intake can cause overweight and obesity and has become a global public health concern in recent years. Nutritional adversity at vulnerable windows of development can affect developing cells and their functions, including germ cells. Evidence shows that parental HFD intake prior to conception and/or during gestation and lactation could program the reproductive health of male offspring, ultimately resulting in impairment of the first as well as subsequent generations. In male offspring, adipose tissue and hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis imbalance can impair the production of gonadotropins, leading to dysfunction of testosterone production and pubertal onset. The gonads can be directly impaired through oxidative stress, causing poor testosterone production and spermatogenesis; low sperm count, viability, and motility; and abnormal sperm morphology, which results in low sperm quality. Parental HFD intake could also be a risk factor for prostate hyperplasia and cancer in advanced age. It can impact the reproductive pattern of male offspring resulting in impairments in the subsequent generations. The investigation of semen quality must be extended to epidemiological and clinical studies of the male offspring of overweight and/or obese parents in order to improve the quality of human semen. This review addresses the effects of parental HFD intake on the reproductive parameters of male offspring and discusses the possible underlying mechanisms.

RESUMEN

Comprehensively understanding the female reproductive system is crucial for safeguarding fertility and preventing diseases concerning women's health. With the capacity to simulate the intricate physio- and patho-conditions, and provide diagnostic platforms, microfluidic chips have fundamentally transformed the knowledge and management of female reproductive health, which will ultimately promote the development of more effective assisted reproductive technologies, treatments, and drug screening approaches. This review elucidates diverse microfluidic systems in mimicking the ovary, fallopian tube, uterus, placenta and cervix, and we delve into the culture of follicles and oocytes, gametes' manipulation, cryopreservation, and permeability especially. We investigate the role of microfluidics in endometriosis and hysteromyoma, and explore their applications in ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer and cervical cancer. At last, the current status of assisted reproductive technology and integrated microfluidic devices are introduced briefly. Through delineating the multifarious advantages and challenges of the microfluidic technology, we chart a definitive course for future research in the woman health field. As the microfluidic technology continues to evolve and advance, it holds great promise for revolutionizing the diagnosis and treatment of female reproductive health issues, thus propelling us into a future where we can ultimately optimize the overall wellbeing and health of women everywhere.

Allatotropin (AT) acts as a myoregulator at the level of the dorsal vessel (DV) and midgut (MG) in triatominae insects. Previous analyses of the expression of the AT receptor in Rhodnius prolixus showed that AT is expressed in the DV and MG, but also in the reproductive system in females. To further study the activity of AT on female reproductive organs we analyzed the response by adult females in different physiological conditions, including unfed (virgin and mated), and fed mated females (gravid), to doses ranging between 10-14 and 10-6M. Myoregulatory activity was evaluated in vivo, by recording independently the frequency of contractions of each organ after treatment. The results show that the effect of AT varies depending on the organs and on the physiological state of the female. Whilst unfed virgin females did not show response to the peptide for neither of the applied doses, the ovaries showed a differential response, presenting the highest frequency of contractions in gravid individuals. An increase in the frequency of contractions of the oviducts was only observed in mated females. Uterus and spermathecae responded in both gravid and mated females, with maximum activity in the latter. In the bursa, responses were only detected in gravid females. The differential response of the organs seems to be associated to particular moments along the reproductive cycle, such as with the spermathecae that reacted to AT in both unfed mated and gravid females, when the movement of spermatozoids is physiologically crucial. Testes and accessory glands of the male, expressed the mRNA of AT precursor, suggesting that the male would modulate the contractile behavior of the female reproductive system after copula. The ovaries also expressed AT mRNA suggesting the existence of a paracrine/autocrine system modulating muscle contraction.

AQP0-12, a total of 13 aquaporins are expressed in the mammalian reproductive system. These aquaporins mediate the transport of water and small solutes across biofilms for maintaining reproductive tract water balance and germ cell water homeostasis. These aquaporins play important roles in the regulation of sperm and egg cell production, maturation, and fertilization processes. Impaired AQP function may lead to diminished male and female fertility. This review focuses on the distribution, function, and regulation of AQPs throughout the male and female reproductive organs and tracts. Their correlation with reproductive success, revealing recent advances in the physiological and pathophysiological roles of aquaporins in the reproductive system.

China has the world's largest reserves of rare earth elements (REEs), but widespread mining and application of REEs has led to an increased risk of potential pollution. Yttrium (Y), the first heavy REEs to be discovered, poses a substantial threat to human health. Unfortunately, little attention has been given to the impact of Y on human reproductive health. In this study, we investigated the toxic effects of YCl3 on mouse testes and four types of testicular cells, including Sertoli, Leydig, spermatogonial and spermatocyte cells. The results showed that YCl3 exposure causes substantial damage to mouse testes and induces apoptosis and autophagy, but not pyroptosis or necrosis, in testicular cells. Genome-wide gene expression analysis revealed that YCl3 induced significant changes in gene expression, with Ca2+ and mitochondria-related genes being the most significantly altered. Mechanistically, YCl3 exposure induced mitochondrial dysfunction in testicular cells, triggering the overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by impairing the Nrf2 pathway, regulating downstream Ho-1 target protein expression, and increasing Ca2+ levels to activate the CamkII/Ampk signaling pathway. Blocking ROS production or Ca2+ signaling significantly attenuates apoptosis and autophagy, while supplementation with Ca2+ reverses the suppression of apoptosis and autophagy by ROS blockade in testicular cells. Notably, apoptosis and autophagy induced by YCl3 treatment are independent of each other. Thus, our study suggests that YCl3 may impair the antioxidant stress signaling pathway and activate the calcium pathway through the ROS-Ca2+ axis, which promotes testicular cell apoptosis and autophagy independently, thus inducing testicular damage and impairing male reproductive function.

PURPOSE: The ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has imposed a heavy burden on medical systems. In addition to the respiratory system, the virus also causes injuries to other organs and systems such as the gastroenteric system, kidneys, and reproductive system. Female reproductive health requires more attention in this context. METHODS: We have performed a thorough review of the relevant literature that addresses the impacts of SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 vaccination on the female reproductive system. RESULTS: Most evidence shows that SARS-CoV-2 does not infect the female reproductive system. However, the virus may indirectly influence sex hormone concentrations through inflammation associated with cytokine storms and nervous system damage. Menstrual disorders in women infected with SARS-CoV-2 may be caused by down-regulation of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2, abnormal hormone levels, medications, and stress. There is no significant difference in ovarian follicle quality and in vitro fertilization parameters between the pre- and post-COVID-19 vaccination groups. In addition, most symptoms due to side effects of vaccination could recover within a short period of time. CONCLUSION: SARS-CoV-2 infection affects female reproductive system function through multiple mechanisms. It is recommended that women of childbearing age be vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine.

Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent gynecologic illness that has long-term effects on a woman's fertility, physical health, and overall quality of life. Growing evidence suggests that endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) may be etiologically involved in the development and severity of the disease. We consider the available human evidence on EDCs and endometriosis, limiting ourselves to studies that have individually assessed chemical amounts in women. Dioxins, BPA, Phthalates, and other endocrine disruptors, like DDT, are among the evidence indicating an environmental etiology for endometriosis. Collectively, this review describes how environmental toxins are linked to lower fertility in women, as well as a number of reproductive diseases, focusing on the pathology of endometriosis and its treatments. Importantly, this review can be used to investigate techniques for preventing the negative effects of EDC exposure.
