We demonstrate injection, transport, and detection of spins in spin valve arrays patterned in both copper based chemical vapor deposition (Cu-CVD) synthesized wafer scale single layer and bilayer graphene. We observe spin relaxation times comparable to those reported for exfoliated graphene samples demonstrating that chemical vapor deposition specific structural differences such as nanoripples do not limit spin transport in the present samples. Our observations make Cu-CVD graphene a promising material of choice for large scale spintronic applications.

The study has been undertaken to integrate two different aspects of the triple helix model: universities and the industry. Special attention has been paid to the prevailing difference between the two, hampering their working as a coherent unit. Integrating the existing knowledge in the study, we proposed the Academia-Industry Collaboration Plan (AICP) design model. The model comprises processes, methods or approaches, and tools. Processes serve as a road map to third parties for establishing collaboration between academia and the industry. It has all the essential process models and a series of steps that help minimize the organizational complexity of the collaboration process between academia and the industry. Methods or approaches serve the purpose of implementing those processes effectively. Finally, appropriate tools are selected to integrate possible collaboration improvements that lead to innovation.
RESUMO
Everolimus is a mechanistic target of rapamycin inhibitor used for the treatment of various cancers and prevention of allograft rejection in solid organ transplantation. We present a case of a lung transplant recipient on everolimus who was admitted with generalized weakness, hypoxia and new onset bilateral pulmonary infiltrates on imaging. Extensive workup revealed no infectious etiology and high levels of serum everolimus levels. Her condition deteriorated over the hospital course with symptoms and signs of systemic everolimus toxicity. She was treated with high-dose steroids with significant improvement. Follow-up imaging showed resolution of infiltrates. Everolimus induced pneumonitis is seldom reported in the lung transplant literature. It is important to recognize early signs of toxicity to intervene and preserve the lung allograft.
RESUMO
Aspiration of a foreign body into the lower airways is a common occurrence and can cause significant morbidity and mortality in humans. Most foreign bodies of the tracheobronchial tree are inanimate. However, the medical literature includes reports of live foreign bodies in the airways. Fish, leeches, and roundworms are the most common live foreign bodies of the lower airways. Fishermen are more prone to experience a live fish aspiration, whereas substandard conditions may expose individuals to leech and roundworm infestations. The dangers of and the approaches to the management of these foreign bodies differ from those associated with aspirated inanimate objects. The focus of this review of the medical literature was on live foreign body aspiration and its management.

Pleomorphic adenomas are the most common tumors of the salivary glands. Rarely, they occur as benign lesions in the lungs in both the central airways and the lung parenchyma. Herein, we present a case of a 60-year-old smoker who was incidentally found to have an endobronchial mass while undergoing evaluation for a lung nodule. During bronchoscopy, a smooth globular nodule was identified at the main carina and removed using electrocautery snare. Histopathology examination revealed this to be a pleomorphic adenoma.
RESUMO
The effect of nonmagnetic dilution in metallic antiferromagnets (AFMs) on the exchange bias (EB) has been investigated from a structural, magnetic, and Monte Carlo simulation point of view in bilayers of CoFe/(IrMn)1-xCux. Dilution by Cu atoms throughout the volume of the AFM IrMn gives rise to an enhanced EB field (HEB) for 5 K
