RESUMO

Recently, van der Waals (vdW) antiferromagnets have been proposed to be crucial for spintronics due to their favorable properties compared to ferromagnets, including robustness against magnetic perturbation and high frequencies of spin dynamics. High-performance and energy-efficient spin functionalities often depend on the current-driven manipulation and detection of spin states, highlighting the significance of two-dimensional metallic antiferromagnets, which have not been much explored due to the lack of suitable materials. Here, we report a new metallic vdW antiferromagnet obtained from the ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2 by cobalt (Co) doping. Through the layer-number-dependent Hall resistance and magnetoresistance measurements, an evident odd-even layer-number effect has been observed in its few-layered flakes, suggesting that it could host an A-type antiferromagnetic structure. This peculiar layer-number-dependent magnetism in Co-doped Fe3GaTe2 helps unravel the complex magnetic structures in such doped vdW magnets, and our finding will enrich material candidates and spin functionalities for spintronic applications.

RESUMO

Magnetic skyrmions in bulk materials are typically regarded as two-dimensional structures. However, they also exhibit three-dimensional configurations, known as skyrmion tubes, that elongate and extend in-depth. Understanding the configurations and stabilization mechanism of skyrmion tubes is crucial for the development of advanced spintronic devices. However, the generation and annihilation of skyrmion tubes in confined geometries are still rarely reported. Here, we present direct imaging of skyrmion tubes in nanostructured cuboids of a chiral magnet FeGe using Lorentz transmission electron microscopy (TEM), while applying an in-plane magnetic field. It is observed that skyrmion tubes stabilize in a narrow field-temperature region near the Curie temperature (Tc). Through a field cooling process, metastable skyrmion tubes can exist in a larger region of the field-temperature diagram. Combining these experimental findings with micromagnetic simulations, we attribute these phenomena to energy differences and thermal fluctuations. Our results could promote topological spintronic devices based on skyrmion tubes.

RESUMO

Human games are inherently diverse, involving more than mere identity interactions. The diversity of game tasks offers a more authentic explanation in the exploration of social dilemmas. Human behavior is also influenced by conformity, and prosociality is a crucial factor in addressing social dilemmas. This study proposes a generalized prisoner's dilemma model of task diversity that incorporates a conformity-driven interaction. Simulation findings indicate that the diversity of multi-tasks and the path dependence contribute to the flourishing of cooperation in games. Conformity-driven interactions also promote cooperation. However, this promotion effect does not increase linearly, and only appropriate task sizes and suitable proportions of conformity-driven interactions yield optimal results. From a broader group perspective, the interplay of network adaptation, task size, and conformity-driven interaction can form a structure of attractors or repellents.

RESUMO

Chiral catalysts play a crucial role in the realm of asymmetric catalysis. Since their breakthrough discovery in 2006, chiral frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs) have risen as a novel catalyst category for a broad range of metal-free asymmetric reactions. This review provides an overview of the remarkable progress made in this field over the past 15 years. The design and synthesis of chiral FLPs and their applications in hydrogenation, hydrosilylation, transfer hydrogenation, and various other reactions are summarized and highlighted.

RESUMO

Target skyrmion, characterized by a central skyrmion surrounded by a series of concentric cylinder domains known as kπ-skyrmions (k ≥ 2), holds promise as a novel storage state in next-generation memories. However, target skyrmions comprising one or more concentric cylindrical domains have not been observed in chiral magnets, particularly at room temperature. In this study, we experimentally achieved kπ-skyrmions (k = 2, 3, and 4) with diameters of ∼220, 320, and 410 nm, respectively, and room-temperature stability under zero magnetic field by tightly confining these topological spin textures in ß-Mn-type Co8Zn10Mn2 nanodisks. The magnetic configurations and their field-driven evolutions were simultaneously investigated by using in situ off-axis electron holography. In combination with numerical simulations, we further investigated the dependence of kmax on the nanodisk diameter. These findings highlight the potential of kπ-skyrmions as information carriers and offer insights into manipulation of kπ-skyrmions in the future.

RESUMO

As a strategic resource, big data has become a key force affecting carbon emission reduction in agriculture. However, its impacts remain controversial, and relevant empirical evidence remains to be explored. Based on quasi-natural experimental analysis, this study explored the impact and mechanism of the construction of the National Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone (NBDCPZ) on agricultural carbon emissions (ACE) in China and adopted a difference-in-difference (DID) model using China's provincial panel data from 2003 to 2020. The results showed that the ACE in the NBDCPZ establishment area was significantly reduced by 11.91%, a finding that remained robust following the parallel trend test and the placebo test, among others. Mechanism analysis showed that the ACE was reduced through industrial upgrading and technological innovation. Heterogeneity analysis showed that more pronounced policy gains were achieved in China's central-eastern regions as well as in non-major grain-producing areas compared to western and major grain-producing areas. This research provided supporting evidence for the prospect of big data application in ACE and provided useful guidance regarding the promotion of green and sustainable agricultural development.

RESUMO

The asymmetric reduction of 1,2-diketones for the synthesis of optically active 1,2-diols, especially 1,2-anti-diols, remains a formidable challenge. In this paper, we describe the first highly stereoselective hydrosilylation of unsymmetrical vicinal diketones with PhSiH3 by using a chiral frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) catalyst, giving a variety of 1,2-diaryl-1,2-anti-diols in high yields with excellent d.r. values and up to 97 % ee. The chiral FLP catalyst exhibits the ability to control regio-, diastereo- and enantioselectivites concurrently.

RESUMO

Human behaviors are often subject to conformity, but little research attention has been paid to social dilemmas in which players are assumed to only pursue the maximization of their payoffs. The present study proposed a generalized prisoner dilemma model in a signed network considering conformity. Simulation shows that conformity helps promote the imitation of cooperative behavior when positive edges dominate the network, while negative edges may impede conformity from fostering cooperation. The logic of homophily and xenophobia allows for the coexistence of cooperators and defectors and guides the evolution toward the equality of the two strategies. We also find that cooperation prevails when individuals have a higher probability of adjusting their relation signs, but conformity may mediate the effect of network adaptation. From a population-wide view, network adaptation and conformity are capable of forming the structures of attractors or repellers.

RESUMO

We report the current-induced creation of magnetic skyrmions in a chiral magnet FeGe nanostructure by using in situ Lorentz transmission electron microscopy. We show that magnetic skyrmions with controllable polarity can be transferred from the helical ground state simply by controlling the direction of the current flow at zero magnetic fields. The force analysis and symmetry consideration, backed up by micromagnetic simulations, well explain the experimental results, where magnetic skyrmions are created because of the edge instability of the helical state in the presence of spin-transfer torque. The on-demand generation of skyrmions and control of their polarity by electric current without the need for a magnetic field will enable novel purely electric-controlled skyrmion devices.

RESUMO

To access flavanones bearing two contiguous stereogenic centers, a metal-free asymmetric hydrogenation of racemic 3-alkylidene flavanones has been developed by relay catalysis with achiral FLPs and chiral phosphoric acids, which represents a successful detour for the challenging hydrogenation of 3-substituted flavones. A wide range of trans- and cis-flavanones were obtained in high yields and ≤97% ee.

RESUMO

The current epidemic of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) significantly affects human health worldwide. Activation of brown adipocytes and browning of white adipocytes are considered as a promising molecular target for T2DM treatment. Mulberry leaf, a traditional Chinese medicine, has been demonstrated to have multi-biological activities, including anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory effects. Our experimental results showed that mulberry leaf significantly alleviated the disorder of glucose and lipid metabolism in T2DM rats. In addition, mulberry leaf induced browning of inguinal white adipose tissue (IWAT) by enhancing the expressions of brown-mark genes as well as beige-specific genes, including uncoupling protein-1 (UCP1), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1 alpha (PGC-1α), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα), PRD1-BF-1-RIZ1 homologous domain containing protein 16 (PRDM16), cell death inducing DFFA-like effector A (Cidea), CD137 and transmembrane protein 26 (TMEM26). Mulberry leaf also activated brown adipose tissue (BAT) by increasing the expressions of brown-mark genes including UCP1, PGC-1α, PPARα, PRDM16 and Cidea. Moreover, mulberry leaf enhanced the expression of nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF-1) and mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM) genes that are responsible for mitochondrial biogenesis in IWAT and BAT. Importantly, mulberry leaf also increased the expression of UCP1 and carnitine palmitoyl transferase 1 (CPT-1) proteins in both IWAT and BAT via a mechanism involving AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and PGC-1α pathway. In conclusion, our findings identify the role of mulberry leaf in inducing adipose browning, indicating that mulberry leaf may be used as a candidate browning agent for the treatment of T2DM.

RESUMO

In response to the widespread adoption of vehicle-following systems in autonomous applications, the demand for collision warning to enable safer functionalities is increasing. This study provides an approach for automated vehicle guidance to follow the preceding vehicles longitudinally and puts emphasis on the performance of collision avoidance. The safety distance model is established, which contains a distance compensation algorithm to deal with the special case on curved roads. By introducing the algorithm of velocity and distance prediction, the collision risks are detected and measured in real time. The objective function is established based on optimal control theory to solve the desired following acceleration. The control system designed with the method of proportion integration differentiation combines throttle percentage and brake pressure as outputs to compensate acceleration. In the Carsim and Simulink co-simulation platform, the control system for longitudinal collision avoidance is simulated and analysed for four typical working conditions: the preceding vehicle drives at a constant speed on straight and curved roads, while the preceding vehicle drives at various speeds on straight and curved roads. The results validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method, which can be used for the longitudinal control of vehicle-following active collision avoidance.

RESUMO

Topological Hall effect (THE) has been used as a powerful tool to unlock spin chirality in novel magnetic materials. Recent focus has been widely paid to THE and possible chiral spin textures in two-dimensional (2D) layered magnetic materials. However, the room-temperature THE has been barely reported in 2D materials, which hinders its practical applications in 2D spintronics. In this paper, we report a possible THE signal featuring antisymmetric peaks in a wide temperature window up to 320 K in Cr1.2Te2, a new quasi-2D ferromagnetic material. The temperature, thickness, and magnetic field dependences of the THE lead to potential spin chirality origin that is associated with the spin canting under external magnetic fields. Our work holds promise for practical applications in future chiral spin-based vdW spintronic devices.

RESUMO

Asymmetric intramolecular hydroalkoxylation of alkenes represents a very important approach to access optically active cyclic ethers. It was found that B(C6 F5 )3 could catalyze the cyclization of 2-vinylbenzyl alcohols with only 0.05 mol % catalyst loading, affording the desired product in high yields. To accomplish the asymmetric reaction, a novel type of chiral boro-phosphates was developed by treating chiral phosphoric acid with Piers' borane, in which the oxygen atom of P=O and the boron atom act as Lewis base and acid centers, respectively. A highly enantioselective hydroalkoxylation was successfully realized to give optically active 1,3-dihydroisobenzofuran derivatives in 78-99 % yields with 60-97 % ee's, in which an activation of O-H bond of alcohols by the boro-phosphate species is hypothesized.

RESUMO

A chiral bobber is a localized three-dimensional magnetization configuration, terminated by a singularity. Chiral bobbers coexist with magnetic skyrmions in chiral magnets, lending themselves to new types of skyrmion-complementary bits of information. However, the on-demand creation of bobbers, as well as their direct observation remained elusive. Here, we introduce a new mechanism for creating a stable chiral bobber lattice state via the proximity of two skyrmion species with comparable size. This effect is experimentally demonstrated in a Cu_{2}OSeO_{3}/[Ta/CoFeB/MgO]_{4} heterostructure in which an exotic bobber lattice state emerges in the phase diagram of Cu_{2}OSeO_{3}. To unambiguously reveal the existence of the chiral bobber lattice state, we have developed a novel characterization technique, magnetic truncation rod analysis, which is based on resonant elastic x-ray scattering.
