RESUMO

The primary challenge for resonant-gravimetric gas sensors is the synchronous improvement of the sensitivity and response time, which is restricted by low adsorption capacity and slow mass transfer in the sensing process and remains a great challenge. In this study, a novel 2D/2D Cu-TCPP@ZnIn2S4 composite is successfully constructed, in which Cu-TCPP MOF is used as a core substrate for the growth of 2D ultrathin ZnIn2S4 nanosheets with well-defined {0001} crystalline facets. The Cu-TCPP@ZnIn2S4 sensor exhibited high sensitivity (1.5 Hz@50 and 2.3 Hz@100 ppb), limit of detection (LOD: 50 ppb), and ultrafast (9 s @500 ppb) detection of triethylamine (TEA), which is the lowest LOD and the fastest sensor among the reported TEA sensors at room temperature, tackling the bottleneck for the ultrafast detection of the resonant-gravimetric sensor. These above results provide an innovative and easily achievable pathway for the synthesis of heterogeneous structure sensing materials.

RESUMO

Acquiring a deep insight into the electron transfer mechanism and applications of one-dimensional (1D) van der Waals heterostructures (vdWHs) has always been a significant challenge. Herein, through direct observation using aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy (AC-TEM), we verify the stable formation of a high-quality 1D heterostructure composed of PbI2@single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). The phenomenon of electron transfer between PbI2 and SWCNT is elucidated through spectroscopic investigations, including Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Electrochemical testing indicates the electron transfer and enduring stability of 1D PbI2 within SWCNTs. Moreover, leveraging the aforementioned electron transfer mechanism, we engineer self-powered photodetectors that exhibit exceptional photocurrent and a 3-order-of-magnitude switching ratio. Subsequently, we reveal its unique electron transfer behavior using Kelvin probe force microscopic (KPFM) tests. According to KPFM, the average surface potential of SWCNTs decreases by 80.6 mV after filling. Theoretical calculations illustrate a charge transfer of 0.02 e per unit cell. This work provides an effective strategy for the in-depth investigation and application of electron transfer in 1D vdWHs.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The emergence of novel and efficient antibody maintenance approaches has provided more options for post-induction treatment of advanced follicular lymphoma (FL), and further comparisons are required to determine the most clinically beneficial regimen. The authors conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the maintenance or consolidation strategy. METHODS: The authors performed two independent searches in PubMed, Web of Science, the Cochrane library databases, Scopus, and Embase for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating maintenance or consolidation therapy in untreated FL patients. Extracted data included the clinical characteristics, treatment regimen, progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and adverse effects. They then pooled the data and used a Bayesian random-effects model to combine direct comparisons with indirect evidence. RESULTS: The authors screened 1515 records and identified 13 eligible RCTs that assessed nine different regimens in 5681 advanced FL patients. Reconstructed individual survival data presented that obinutuzumab had the highest effect sizes and certainty of the evidence for PFS (hazard ratio, 0.43; 95% confidence interval, 0.22-0.79) and tolerability compared with observation. However, no benefit was observed in patients according to the OS, regardless of which regimen was taken. Considering other regimens, although an extended course of rituximab maintenance and consolidation therapies presented PFS benefits compared with standard rituximab maintenance, they were also associated with higher toxicity. CONCLUSIONS: Although obinutuzumab and rituximab maintenance treatment improved PFS significantly, its clinical benefit requires further validation in larger populations. Furthermore, because few trials informed each treatment comparison, research is needed to refine the understanding of this complex and rapidly evolving treatment landscape.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: The prognosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in adolescents and adults is poor, and recurrence is an important cause of their death. Changes of genetic information play a vital role in the pathogenesis and recurrence of ALL; however, the impact of molecular genetic mutations on disease diagnosis and prognosis remains unexplored. This study aimed to explore the frequency spectrum of gene mutations and their prognostic significance, along with the minimal residual disease (MRD) level and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), in adolescent and adult patients aged ≥15 years with ALL. METHODS: The basic characteristics, cytogenetics, molecular genetics, MRD level, treatment regimen, and survival outcome of patients with untreated ALL (≥15 years) were collected, and the correlation and survival analysis were performed using the SPSS 25.0 and R software. RESULTS: This study included 404 patients, of which 147 were selected for next-generation sequencing (NGS). NGS results revealed that 91.2% of the patients had at least one mutation, and 67.35% had multiple (≥2) mutations. NOTCH1, PHF6, RUNX1, PTEN, JAK3, TET2, and JAK1 were the most common mutations in T-ALL, whereas FAT1, TET2, NARS, KMT2D, FLT3, and RELN were the most common mutations in B-ALL. Correlation analysis revealed the mutation patterns, which were significantly different between T-ALL and B-ALL. In the prognostic analysis of 107 patients with B-ALL, multivariate analysis showed that the number of mutations ≥5 was an independent risk factor for overall survival and the RELN mutation was an independent poor prognostic factor for event-free survival. DISCUSSION: The distribution of gene mutations and the co-occurrence and repulsion of mutant genes in patients with ALL were closely related to the immunophenotype of the patients. The number of mutations ≥5 and the RELN mutation were significantly associated with poor prognosis in adolescent and adult patients with ALL.

RESUMO

Photodetectors displaying an ultraviolet (UV) spectral response window are typically based on wide-bandgap semiconductors that have long been dominated by inorganic materials that suffer from bottlenecks of low flexibility and a limited material family. Here, we synthesized a novel organic small molecule and controlled its crystallization to suppress leakage currents and facilitate separation of the carriers, and the relationship between the nanoscale phase separation morphology and the optoelectrical performance of the photodetectors is disclosed. Our optimized organic photodetector (OPD) presents a UV spectral response window, with superior self-powered responsivities of 45 mA/W (under 250 nm light) and 70 mA/W (under 300 nm light), outperforming the Si photodiode and rivaling other reported UV self-powered photodetectors. Finally, an imaging system was constructed to demonstrate the application potential of the OPD in UV flexible imaging with high-resolution arrays of 400 pixels × 400 pixels (5 µm × 5 µm per pixel), which could work in bent states and successfully output images of micrometer-sized objects.

RESUMO

The transcriptional factor ETS1 is upregulated in 25% of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Here, we studied the role of ETS1 phosphorylation at threonine 38, a marker for ETS1 activation, in DLBCL cellular models and clinical specimens. p-ETS1 was detected in activated B cell-like DLBCL (ABC), not in germinal centre B-cell-like DLBCL (GCB) cell lines and, accordingly, it was more common in ABC than GCB DLBCL diagnostic biopsies. MEK inhibition decreased both baseline and IgM stimulation-induced p-ETS1 levels. Genetic inhibition of phosphorylation of ETS1 at threonine 38 affected the growth and the BCR-mediated transcriptome program in DLBCL cell lines. Our data demonstrate that ETS1 phosphorylation at threonine 38 is important for the growth of DLBCL cells and its pharmacological inhibition could benefit lymphoma patients.

RESUMO

2D Ruddlesden-Popper perovskites (PVKs) have recently shown overwhelming potential in various optoelectronic devices on account of enhanced stability to their 3D counterparts. So far, regulating the phase distribution and orientation of 2D perovskite thin films remains challenging to achieve efficient charge transport. This work elucidates the balance struck between sufficient gradient sedimentation of perovskite colloids and less formation of small-n phases, which results in the layered alignment of phase compositions and thus in enhanced photoresponse. The solvent engineering strategy, together with the introduction of poly(3,4-ethylene-dioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) and PC71 BM layer jointly contribute to outstanding self-powered performance of indium tin oxide/PEDOT:PSS/PVK/PC71 BM/Ag device, with a photocurrent of 18.4 µA and an on/off ratio up to 2800. The as-fabricated photodetector exhibits high sensitivity characteristics with the peak responsivity of 0.22 A W-1 and the detectivity up to 1.3 × 1012  Jones detected at UV-A region, outperforming most reported perovskite-based UV photodetectors and maintaining high stability over a wide spectrum ranging from UV to visible region. This discovery supplies deep insights into the control of ordered phases and crystallinity in quasi-2D perovskite films for high-performance optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

Three CoFe-bimetallic oxides with different compositions (termed as CoFeOx -A/N/H) are prepared by thermally treating metal-organic-framework (MOF) precursors under different atmospheres (air, N2, and NaBH4 /N2 ), respectively. With the aid of vast oxygen vacancies (Ov ), cobalt at tetrahedral sites (Co2+ (Th)) in spinel Co3 O4 is diffused into interstitial octahedral sites (Oh) to form rocksalt CoO and ternary oxide CoFe2 O4 has been induced to give the unique defective CoO/CoFe2 O4 heterostructure. The resultant CoFeOx -H exhibits superb electrocatalytic activity toward water oxidation: overpotential at 10 mA cm-2 is 192 mV, which is 122 mV smaller than that of CoFeOx -A. The smaller Tafel slope (42.53 mV dec-1 ) and higher turnover frequency (785.5 h-1 ) suggest fast reaction kinetics. X-ray absorption spectroscopy, ex situ characterizations, and theoretical calculations reveal that defect engineering effectively tunes the electronic configuration to a more active state, resulting in the greatly decreased binding energy of oxo intermediates, and consequently much lower catalytic overpotential. Moreover, the construction of hetero-interface in CoFeOx -H can provide rich active sites and promote efficient electron transfer. This work may shed light on a comprehensive understanding of the modulation of electron configuration of bimetallic oxides and inspire the smart design of high-performance electrocatalysts.

RESUMO

2D halide perovskites feature solution processability and tunable optoelectronic properties for optoelectronic applications. However, the controllable fabrication of halide perovskite heterojunction still remains a challenge. Herein, through controlling surface tension and nucleation driving force, a fast and facile aqueous floating growth is demonstrated to obtain a series of large-area single-crystalline 2D perovskite microplates at room temperature. The optoelectronic performance of 2D perovskites can be tuned by composition engineering, and the best performance is realized for quantum well index n = 4, including a suppressed dark current with boosted photocurrent and an on/off ratio up to 3.5 orders of magnitude. Benefiting from a convenient transfer method onto arbitrary substrates, vertically oriented 2D perovskite hetero-/homo-junctions are gently stacked, which exhibit improved self-powered characteristics. This straightforward growth strategy is an universal solution-processed method for growing 2D perovskites, laying the foundation of the 2D perovskite hetero-/homo-junction for future miniaturization and functionalization of next-generation optoelectronics.

RESUMO

The electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2 RR) to value-added chemical products is an effective strategy for both greenhouse effect mitigation and high-density energy storage. However, controllable manipulation of the oxidation state and porous structure of Cu-carbon based catalysts to achieve high selectivity and current density for a particular product remains very challenging. Herein, a strategy derived from Cu-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for the synthesis of controllable oxidation states and porous structure of Cu-carbon (Cu-pC, Cu2 O-pC, and Cu2 O/Cu-pC) is demonstrated. By regulating oxygen partial pressure during the annealing process, the valence state of the Cu and mesoporous structures of surrounding carbon are changed, leads to the different selectivity of products. Cu2 O/CuO-pC with the higher oxidation state exhibits FEC2H4 of 65.12% and a partial current density of -578 mA cm-2 , while the Cu2 O-pC shows the FECH4 over 55% and a partial current density exceeding -438 mA cm-2 . Experimental and theoretical studies indicate that porous carbon-coated Cu2 O structures favor the CH4 pathway and inhibit the hydrogen evolution reaction. This work provides an effective strategy for exploring the influence of the various valence states of Cu and mesoporous carbon structures on the selectivity of CH4 and C2 H4 products in CO2 RR.

RESUMO

AIMS: It is unknown whether Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection can occur in high-grade B cell lymphoma with MYC and BCL2 and/or BCL6 rearrangements, also known as double- or triple-hit lymphoma (DHL/THL). METHODS AND RESULTS: Here we report 16 cases of EBV+ DHL/THL from screening 846 cases of DHL/THL and obtaining additional EBV+ cases through multi-institutional collaboration: eight MYC and BCL2 DHL, six MYC and BCL6 DHL and two THL. There were eight men and eight women, with a median age of 65 years (range = 32-86). Two patients had a history of follicular lymphoma and one had AIDS. Nine of 14 patients had an International Prognostic Index of ≥3. Half of the cases showed high-grade/Burkitt-like morphology and the other half diffuse large B cell lymphoma morphology. Using immunohistochemistry, the lymphoma cells were positive for MYC (n = 14 of 16), BCL2 (n = 12 of 16), BCL6 (n = 14 of 16), CD10 (n = 13 of 16) and MUM1 (n = six of 14). Using Hans' algorithm, 13 cases were classified as germinal centre B cell (GCB) and three as non-GCB. The lymphomas frequently showed an EBV latency Type I with a median EBV-encoded small RNAs of 80% positive cells (range = 20-100%). After a median follow-up of 36.3 months (range = 2.0-41.6), seven patients died, with a median survival of 15.4 months (range = 3.4-47.3) after diagnosis of EBV+ DHL/THL. Five of six patients with MYC and BCL6 DHL were alive, including four in complete remission. In contrast, only four of 10 patients with MYC and BCL2 DHL or THL were alive, including two in complete remission. The median survival in patients with MYC and BCL6 DHL was unreached and was 21.6 months in patients with MYC and BCL2 DHL or THL. CONCLUSIONS: EBV infection in DHL/THL is rare (~1.5%). Cases of EBV+ DHL/THL are largely similar to their EBV- counterparts clinicopathologically. Our findings expand the spectrum of EBV+ B cell lymphomas currently recognised in the World Health Organisation classification and suggest differences between EBV+ MYC and BCL2 DHL versus EBV+MYC and BCL6 DHL that may have therapeutic implications.

RESUMO

We first report two-dimensional (2D) perovskite Ca2Nb3O10 ultraviolet photodetectors (UV PDs), which are prepared via a facile calcination-exfoliation method. The 2D Ca2Nb3O10 PDs demonstrate high performance at 3 V at 280 nm, high responsivity (14.94 A W-1), high detectivity (8.7 × 1013 Jones), high spectral selectivity (R280/R400 = 8.84 × 103), fast speed (0.08/5.6 ms), and long-term stability, exceeding those of most reported UV PDs. Furthermore, the Ca2Nb3O10 PDs integrated with poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) show excellent flexibility and have high linear dynamic range (96 dB). Our work provides a general strategy for searching new UV PDs based on numerous layered niobates. The Ca2Nb3O10 nanosheets may be one of the optimum semiconductor materials for next-generation high-performance UV PDs.

RESUMO

In order to satisfy the growing requirements of wearable electronic devices, 1D fiber-shaped devices with outstanding sensitivity, flexibility, and stability are urgently needed. In this study, a novel inorganic-organic heterojunction fibrous photodetector (FPD) based on poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) and highly ordered TiO2 nanotube array is fabricated, which endows a high responsivity, large external quantum efficiency, and fast response speed at 3 V bias. To further ameliorate its performance in the self-powered mode, a facile acid treatment is adopted and the assembled H-PEDOT:PSS/TiO2 FPD demonstrates outstanding self-powered properties with ≈3000% responsivity enhancement (161 mA W-1 at 0 V under 365 nm irradiation, photocurrent enhancement of ≈50 times) compared with the untreated device. It is found that the concentrated H2 SO4 post-treatment helps decrease the tube wall thickness of TiO2 and partially removes the insulated PSS component in PEDOT:PSS, leading to enhanced conductivity and facilitated charge transportation, and thereby superb responsivity/photocurrent enhancement of self-powered H-PEDOT:PSS/TiO2 FPD. This low-cost and high-performance self-powered FPD shows high potential for applications in wearable electronic devices.

RESUMO

Interfacial engineering and heterostructures designing are two efficient routes to improve photoelectric characteristics of a photodetector. Herein, a Ti3 C2 MXene/Si heterojunction photodetector with ultrahigh specific detectivity (2.03 × 1013 Jones) and remarkable responsivity (402 mA W-1 ) at zero external bias without decline as with increasing the light power is reported. This is achieved by chemically regrown interfacial SiOx layer and the control of Ti3 C2 MXene thickness to suppress the dark noise current and improve the photoresponse. The photodetector demonstrates a high light on/off ratio of over 106 , an outstanding peak external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 60.3%, while it maintains an ultralow dark current at 0 V bias. Moreover, the device holds high performance with EQE of over 55% even after encapsulated with silicone, trying to resolve the air stability issue of Ti3 C2 MXene. Such a photodetector with high detectivity, high responsivity, and self-powered capability is particularly applicable to detect weak light signal, which presents high potential for imaging, communication and sensing applications.

RESUMO

Ultraviolet(UV) photodetectors(PDs) can monitor UV radiation, enabling it to be effective for many applications, such as communication, imaging and sensing. The rapid progress on portable and wearable optoelectronic devices places a great demand on self-powered PDs. However, high-performance self-powered PDs are still limited. Herein we display a transparent and self-powered PD based on a p-CuI/n-TiO2heterojunction, which exhibits a high on-off ratio (∼104at 310 nm) and a fast response speed (rise time/decay time = 0.11 ms/0.72 ms) without bias. Moreover, the device shows an excellent UV-selective sensitivity as a solar-blind UV PD with a high UV/visible rejection ratio (R300 nm/R400 nm= 5.3 × 102), which can be ascribed to the wide bandgaps of CuI and TiO2. This work provides a feasible route for the construction of transparent, self-powered PDs based on p-n heterojunctions.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Patients with multicentric Castleman disease (MCD) who are negative for human immunodeficiency virus and human herpesvirus 8 are considered to have idiopathic MCD (iMCD). The clinical presentation of iMCD varies from mild constitutional symptoms to life-threatening symptoms or death. The treatment strategy varies from "watchful waiting" to high-dose chemotherapy. This diverse clinical presentation calls for a classification stratification system that takes into account the severity of the disease. SUBJECTS, MATERIALS, AND METHODS: We analyzed the clinical, laboratory, and pathologic abnormalities and treatment outcomes of 176 patients with iMCD (median follow-up duration 12 years) from the U.S. and China to better understand the characteristics and prognostic factors of this disease. This discovery set of iMCD results was confirmed from the validation set composed of additional 197 patients with iMCD organized from The International Castleman Disease Consortium. RESULTS: Using these data, we proposed and validated the iMCD international prognostic index (iMCD-IPI), which includes parameters related to patient characteristics (age > 40 years), histopathologic features (plasma cell variant), and inflammatory consequences of iMCD (hepatomegaly and/or splenomegaly, hemoglobin <80 g/L, and pleural effusion). These five factors stratified patients according to their performance status and extent of organ dysfunction into three broad categories: low risk, intermediate risk, and high risk. The iMCD-IPI score accurately predicted outcomes in the discovery study cohort, and the results were confirmed on the validation study cohort. CONCLUSION: This study represents the largest series of studies on patients with iMCD in the field and proposed a novel risk-stratification model for iMCD-IPI that could be used to guide risk-stratified treatment strategies in patients with iMCD. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: Patients with idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) can benefit from care based on clinical symptoms and disease severity. This study in 176 patients with iMCD constructed an iMCD-IPI score based on five clinical factors, including age >40 years, plasmacytic variant subtype, hepatomegaly and/or splenomegaly, hemoglobin <80 g/L, and pleural effusion, and stratified patients into three risk categories: low risk, intermediate risk, and high risk. The predictive value was validated in an independent set of 197 patients with iMCD from The International Castleman Disease Consortium. The proposed novel model is valuable for predicting clinical outcome and selecting optimal therapies using clinical parameters.

RESUMO

With the rapid growth in wearable electronics sensing devices, flexible sensing devices that monitor the human body have shown great promise in personalized healthcare. In the study, high-quality GaN pn junction microwire arrays with different aspect ratios and large-area uniformity are fabricated through an easy, repeatable fabrication process. The piezoelectric coefficient (d33 ) of GaN pn junction microwire arrays increases from 7.23 to 14.46 pm V-1 with the increasing of the aspect ratio, which is several times higher than that of GaN bulk material. Furthermore, flexible ultrasensitive strain sensor based on GaN microwires with the highest d33 is demonstrated to achieve the maximum open circuit voltage of 10.4 V, and presents excellent durability with stable output signals over 10 000 cycles with a response time of 50 ms. As a flexible and wearable sensor attached to the human skin, the GaN microwire pn junction arrays with such a high degree of uniformity can precisely monitor subtle human pulse and motions, which show great promise in future personalized healthcare.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Smoking could reduce the CD34+ cells in peripheral blood of healthy individual. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between smoking load and the effect of peripheral blood hematopoietic progenitor cells (PBPCs) mobilization by granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) alone in healthy donors. METHODS: Retrospective analysis was performed on 145 healthy adult PBPCs donors who underwent PBPCs mobilization and collection. Smoking factors were evaluated and correlated with mobilization responses, as indicated by the collected CD34+ cells concentration. RESULTS: The collected CD34+ cells concentration was closely related to pre-CD34 (P < .001) and CD34+ cells collected per volume blood processed (P < .001) which suggested that collected CD34+ cells concentration was a reliable indicator of PBPCs mobilization efficiency. The heavy smoking donors revealed significantly lower collected CD34+ cells concentration, compared to that of the nonsmoking (P < .001) and light smoking donors (P < .05). The levels of collected CD34+ cells in light smoking were also obviously lower than that in nonsmoking donors (P < .05).There were no obvious differences in the collected CD34+ cells concentration, overall processed blood volume and total collected CD34+ cells between nonsmoking and smoking cessation groups (P = .490; P = .464; P = .819). CONCLUSION: Cigarette smoking is an important factor that affects the yield of PBPCs in male donors, especially when the smoking load is more than five pack-years. Mobilization of PBMCs could be restored by smoking cessation in chronic smokers.

RESUMO

A broadband differential-fed dual-polarized hollow cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is proposed in this article. It makes use of the HEM111, HEM113, and HEM115 modes of the cylindrical hollow DRA. The proposed DRA is simply fed by two pairs of conducting strips and each pair of strips is provided with the out-of-phase signals. After introducing four disconnected air holes into the DRA, a broadband characteristic is achieved, with little effect on the antenna gain of its higher-order modes. To verify this idea, frosted K9-glass is applied to fabricate the hollow cylindrical DRA. The differential S-parameters, radiation patterns, and antenna gain of the DRA are studied. It is found that the proposed differential-fed dual-polarized DRA is able to provide a broad differential impedance bandwidth of ~68% and a high differential-port isolation better than ~46 dB. Moreover, symmetrical broadside radiation patterns are observed across the whole operating band. The proposed DRA covers the frequency bands including the 5G-n77 (3.4-4.2 GHz), 5G-n79 (4.4-5.0 GHz), WLAN-5.2 GHz (5.15-5.35 GHz), and WLAN-5.8 GHz (5.725-5.825 GHz), which can be used for 5G communications.

In the present work, the exploration of photodetectors (PDs) based on CsPbI3 nanotubes are reported. The as-prepared CsPbI3 nanotubes can be stable for more than 2 months under air conditions. It is found that, in comparison to the nanowires, nanobelts, and nanosheets, the nanotubes can be advantageous to be used as the functional units for PDs, which is mainly attributed to the enhanced light absorption ability induced by the light trapping effect within the tube cavity. As a proof of concept, the as-constructed PDs based on CsPbI3 nanotube present an overall excellent performance with a responsivity (Rλ ), external quantum efficiency (EQE) and detectivity of 1.84 × 103 A W-1 , 5.65 × 105 % and 9.99 × 1013 Jones, respectively, which are all comparable to state-of-the-art ones for all-inorganic perovskite PDs.
