RESUMO
Previous studies in other provinces of China (Beijing, Xinjiang, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Shanghai, Guangdong, and Taiwan) suggest that the distributions of lymphoma subtypes differ compared with Western populations. In order to evaluate the characteristics of malignant lymphoma in Sichuan, China, we analyzed case series data from incident lymphoma patients diagnosed in 2008 from three hospitals, including a total of 1629 cases and including only current residents of Sichuan. The median age of diagnosis for cases was 54 years, with a higher proportion of male cases compared with female cases. The most commonly diagnosed subtypes included diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (40.4%), NK/T-cell lymphoma (NKTCL; 11.8%), mixed cellularity Hodgkin lymphoma (7.0%), mantle cell lymphoma (4.8%), and marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (3.9%). Differences in demographic characteristics between Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) cases were apparent for median age at diagnosis (HL: 34 years; NHL: 57 years), and NHLs accounted for nearly all (99.3%) of the 931 cases of extranodal lymphoma. These findings indicate a higher proportion of NKTCL cases and a lower proportion of follicular lymphoma cases (2.3%) in these hospitals in Sichuan, relative to reports from some other provinces within China (e.g., Shanghai and Shanxi) and the USA. To evaluate the effectiveness of high-flow nasal humidified oxygen (HFNHO) therapy in patients with mild hypoxemia after extubation. This study included 316 patients with mild hypoxemia after extubation from May 2016 to May 2018 from two intensive care units in China. Compare the effects of the Venturi Mask and High-Flow Nasal Humidified Oxygen (HFNHO) therapy on Heart Rate (HR), Respiratory Rate (RR), Oxygen Saturation (SpO2), Oxygen Partial Pressure (PO2), Partial Pressure Of Carbon Dioxide (PCO2), Oxygenation Index (PO2/FiO2) after extubation, the use of noninvasive mechanical ventilation and tracheal intubation after treatment failure were observed and recorded. Patients have both lower HR and RR than those who received mask treatment (75.4±18.5 vs. 83.0±20.4, p = 0.0004; 18±6.5 vs. 23.6±10.3, p<0.001, respectively). There was significant difference between those who had HFNHO and mask administration's SpO2 and PO2 (94.1±6.4 vs. 87.5±1.5, p<0.001; 88.16±2.9 vs. 77.3±2.3, p<0.001, respectively). For the HFNHO group, patients had lower PCO2 with the mask group. (41.3±0.99 vs 42.2±1.2, p<0.001). On the other hand, the levels of PO2/FiO2 was significantly higher in the HFNHO Group, (181.0±8.3 vs. 157.2±4.9, p<0.05). We concluded HFNHO therapy could significantly relieve the symptoms of dyspnea, improve oxygenation, reduce the use of noninvasive mechanical ventilation and reduce the rate of secondary tracheal intubation in patients with mild hypoxemia after extubation.

This research designed to explore the antitumor activity of puerarin against human mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). Cell proliferation and apoptosis were assessed by MTS and flow cytometry. Caspase-3, -8, and -9 activities were assessed with the colorimetric caspase protease assay. Apoptotic proteins like PARP, cyclin D1, Bcl-2 family, XIAP, and cIAP I were researched by western blot. The PI3K inhibitor LY294002 was used to investigate the possible mechanism relating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Puerarin in vitro inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis of Z138 cells. Expressions of PI3K and p-Akt were downregulated by puerarin. Puerarin negatively regulated NF-κB activity by inhibiting NF-κB phosphorylation with nuclear translocation inhibition. This kind of effects was correlated with the suppression of expression of cyclin D1, BAX, Bcl-2, XIAP etc. This function was modulated by the PI3K inhibitor. Our results demonstrated that puerarin can induce growth arrest and apoptosis in MCL cells and that the mechanism may involve the NF-κB signaling pathway. Puerarin may have therapeutic applications in the treatment of MCL.

The influencing factors on cord blood storage after collection and mononuclear cell separation as well as cryopreservation were studied. The mononuclear cell are separated from blood after blood collection, then cryopreserved and washed after thawed. Results showed that the cord blood kept at 4 degrees C or room temperature less than 24 hours after blood collection, mononuclear cell separated by hydroxyethylstarch and 2 centrifugations, mononuclear cell cryopreserved with 50% DMSO and autoplasma from cord blood as protectives and washing the cells after thawing. In conclusion, the optimal project in this study can effectively preserve cord blood mononuclear cells.

To investigate the serum granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) level in patients with chronic idiopathic neutropenia (CIN) and analyze its clinical significance. By the use of G-CSF-specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), the serum levels of G-CSF were determined in 40 cases with chronic CIN, 40 cases with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) complicated neutropenia and 40 healthy volunteer (normal control). Results showed that serum G-CSF was positive in 11 normal controls and in 10 cases with SLE, and the G-CSF levels were (27.34 +/- 8.00) ng/L and (26.76 +/- 7.26) ng/L, respectively. Serum G-CSF in 27 cases with CIN was positive, the level was (134.04 +/- 89.29) ng/L, which was higher than that in the normal controls and the cases with SLE (P < 0.01). It was concluded that an obstacle to utilization of G-CSF could be existed in the patients with CIN.
