This study focuses on developing a g-C3N4/Sb2S3 heterojunction photocatalyst with different g-C3N4 to Sb2S3 weight ratios (1:1, 1:3, and 3:1) for degrading tetracycline (TC) pollutants. The 1:3 ratio (13 GS) exhibited optimal photocatalytic performance, achieving 99% TC degradation under sunlight within 120 min, compared to 78.4% under visible light and 38% under UV light. The 13 GS catalyst demonstrated strong reusability, maintaining 80% degradation efficiency after six cycles. Scavenger experiments identified hydroxyl radicals as crucial for TC degradation, with DMSO reducing activity by 30%. The photocatalyst also showed high hydrogen production with an apparent quantum efficiency (AQE) of 19.8% under standard conditions, and improved AQE in acidic (23%) and basic (22.7%) conditions, and with CH3OH (23.2%). This g-C3N4/Sb2S3 heterojunction offers a promising solution for degrading toxic contaminants and has the potential for solar-powered applications.

OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to understand the functional impact of vestibular dysfunction on balance control in children with hearing loss. The vestibular system is an important contributor to maintaining balance. In adults, vestibular dysfunction is known to lead to unsteadiness and falls. Considerably less is known about the effects of vestibular dysfunction in children with hearing loss. DESIGN: We conducted a systematic review in concordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis guidelines. We included articles on children with hearing loss who underwent vestibular and balance testing. The Downs and Black checklist was used to assess the risk of bias. RESULTS: A total of 20 articles were included in this systematic review, of which, 17 reported an association between vestibular dysfunction and balance abnormalities in children with hearing loss. Bias (as measured by the Downs and Black Checklist) was a concern, as most studies were nonblinded cohort studies or case series selected through convenience sampling. CONCLUSIONS: Research to date has predominantly found that children with concomitant hearing loss and vestibular impairment tend to perform more poorly on balance measures than either children with hearing loss and normal vestibular function or children with both normal-hearing and normal vestibular function. A standardized approach to assessing both vestibular function and balance would better characterize the impact of vestibular dysfunction in children with hearing loss at the population level.

Ozone is emerging as a new adjunct therapeutic agent for female infertility. We here present a review of the literature, to date, pertaining to the effect of ozone therapy on tubal, ovarian, endometrial, and vaginal factors that could potentially affect female fertility. It also presents data pertaining to the relationship of ozone therapy on pelvic adhesion formation. Most data were performed on animals and very few human studies existed in the literature. Results suggested that ozone therapy could have beneficial effect on tubal occlusion, could protect from endometritis and vaginitis, might protect ovaries from ischemia and oocyte loss and finally might lead to less formation of pelvic adhesions. There is a critical need for human studies pertaining to ozone therapy, especially using safe methods of administration, such as transdermally or intravaginally, on female fertility.
