RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: This study aimed to compare the designed and achieved mesiodistal angulation of maxillary canines and posterior teeth (MCPT) for first premolar extraction with clear aligner treatment and identify the main influencing factors for preventing MCPT tipping toward the extraction space. METHODS: A total of 21 adults with first premolar extraction were recruited. The designed and achieved tooth movement of MCPT was measured by superimposing their respective pretreatment and posttreatment cone-beam computed tomography images and compared with the designed tooth movement in ClinCheck using the paired t test and scatter plot analysis. Influencing factors, including dental arch length change, canine distalization, and initial mesiodistal angulation, were analyzed using the linear mixed-effect model. RESULTS: Designed distal crown tipping (second premolar, 10.73 ± 3.22°; first molar, 9.83 ± 3.60°; second molar, 7.18 ± 2.36°) significantly increased the distal inclination of the second premolar (2.50° ± 5.15°; P ï¼œ0.001), first molar (1.07° ± 4.14°; P ï¼œ0.001), and second (0.70° ± 3.78°; P ï¼œ0.001). Furthermore, mesial tipping (8.59° ± 6.03°; P ï¼œ0.001) achieved appropriate distal crown tipping of canines (-6.43° ± 5.04°; P ï¼œ0.001). The implemented preliminary formulas showed that shortening of the dental arch length, the distance of canine distalization, and initial mesiodistal angulation were closely related to the antitipping design. CONCLUSIONS: Designed distal crown tipping of posterior teeth and mesial crown tipping of canines might prevent unwanted crown tipping toward the extraction space during space closure. The proposed preliminary formula could guide antitipping designs in clear aligner treatment.

RESUMO

Ni-Mn-Sn-based ferromagnetic shape memory alloys (FSMAs) are multifunctional materials that are promising for solid-state refrigeration applications based on the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) and elastocaloric effect (eCE). However, a combination of excellent multi-caloric properties, suitable operating temperatures, and mechanical properties cannot be well achieved in these materials, posing a challenge for their practical application. In this work, we systematically study the phase transformations and magnetic properties of Ni50-xMn38Sn12Cux (x = 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) and Ni50-yMn38Sn12Fey (y = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) alloys, and the magnetic-structural phase diagrams of these alloy systems are reported. The influences of the fourth-element doping on the phase transitions and magnetic properties of the alloys are elucidated by first-principles calculations. This work demonstrates that the fourth-element doping of Ni-Mn-Sn-based FSMA is effective in developing multicaloric refrigerants for practical solid-state refrigeration.

RESUMO

Solid-state refrigeration technology is expected to replace conventional gas compression refrigeration technology because it is environmentally friendly and highly efficient. Among various solid-state magnetocaloric materials, Ni-Mn-based ferromagnetic shape memory alloys (SMAs) have attracted widespread attention due to their multifunctional properties, such as their magnetocaloric effect, elastocaloric effect, barocaloric effect, magnetoresistance, magnetic field-induced strain, etc. Recently, a series of in-depth studies on the thermal effects of Ni-Mn-based magnetic SMAs have been carried out, and numerous research results have been obtained. It has been found that poor toughness and cyclic stability greatly limit the practical application of magnetic SMAs in solid-state refrigeration. In this review, the influences of element doping, microstructure design, and the size effect on the strength and toughness of Ni-Mn-based ferromagnetic SMAs and their underlying mechanisms are systematically summarized. The pros and cons of different methods in enhancing the toughness of Ni-Mn-based SMAs are compared, and the unresolved issues are analyzed. The main research directions of Ni-Mn-based ferromagnetic SMAs are proposed and discussed, which are of scientific and technological significance and could promote the application of Ni-Mn-based ferromagnetic SMAs in various fields.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the most discussed topics and possible new interests in dental implants among the public, as well as the public sentiments toward dental implants through topic and sentiment analysis of online comments. METHODS: Comments of the top 100 most viewed dental implant-related YouTube videos were studied. The comments were analyzed by topic analysis (LDA topic model, Word co-occurrence analysis) and sentiment analysis. The basic information of videos was collected and classified. Video quality was evaluated by GQS criteria and 9-point usefulness scoring system. Statistical analyses were performed using Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U-tests, and Spearman correlation analysis. RESULTS: 74 videos with 61,618 comments were considered eligible in this study. Most videos targeted the public with high viewing and comments, but the theme was single and the quality was low. From topic analysis, the most discussed topics in the comments were procedure, cost, feelings associated with prognosis, and expectations. Multidisciplinary approaches in implant dentistry were frequently discussed. From sentiment analysis, the public mainly expressed positive sentiment through comments. In detail, the public had positive feelings about aesthetics and health, negative feelings about pain, and neutral feelings about cost. CONCLUSION: The hot topics of public concern were procedure, cost, feelings associated with prognosis, and expectations. Intriguingly, multidisciplinary approaches in implant dentistry have emerged as a new hot subtopic within the topic "procedure". Based on the sentiment analysis of the comments, the general sentiment expressed by the public toward dental implants was predominantly positive. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Text mining can extract data from social media to explore public interest in dentistry. Clinicians should convey reasonable expectations and understanding about dental implants, especially addressing the most public-concerned topics (procedure, cost, feelings, and expectations), and provide patients with well-grounded multidisciplinary treatment plans to meet the growing public demand.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: This study was designed to investigate the effect of micro RNA-targeted regulation of FGFR1 on the proliferation and apoptosis of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells. METHODS: TNBC (MAD-MB-231), three types of breast cancer (MCF10A, MCF7, ZR751) cell lines, and normal breast tissue cell lines were extracted. Real-time PCR was used to detect the expression of miRNA-136 in different types of breast cells. The MAD-MB-231 cell lines were transfected with miRNA-136 mimic by lipofection. The effects of miRNA-136 on FGFR1 expression and apoptosis rate of MAD-MB-231 cell lines were determined using western blotting. RESULTS: miRNA-136 expression in TNBC cells was lower than that of controls, and was negatively correlated with TNM staging. miRNA-136 expression in MCF10A, MCF7, ZR751, and MAD-MB-231 cell lines was gradually decreased, and MCF10A expression in the other three cell lines was significantly higher than that of MAD-MB-231 cell line (P<0.05). Transfection with miRNA-136 significantly reduced the proliferation rate of MAD-MB-231, and a higher concentration and longer duration exhibited a more pronounced inhibitory effect on proliferation (P<0.05). Transfection with miRNA-136 significantly reduced FGFR1 expression in the MAD-MB-231 cell lines, without significantly affecting apoptosis. CONCLUSION: miRNA-136 shows a very low expression level in TNBC cells. Transfection with miRNA-136 can significantly inhibit the proliferation of TNBC cells by external transfection, and has little effect on cell apoptosis. This may be related to miRNA-mediated changes in FGFR1 protein expression.

RESUMO

Managed aquifer recharge (MAR) using urban stormwater facilitates relieving water supply pressure, restoring the ecological environment, and developing sustainable water resources. However, compared to conventional water sources, such as river water and lake water, MAR using urban stormwater is a typically intermittent recharge mode. In order to study the clogging and water quality change effects of Fe, Zn, and Pb, the typical mental pollutants in urban stormwater, a series of intermittent MAR column experiments were performed. The results show that the type of pollutant, the particle size of the medium and the intermittent recharge mode have significant impacts on the pollutant retention and release, which has led to different clogging and water quality change effects. The metals that are easily retained in porous media have greater potential for clogging and less potential for groundwater pollution. The fine medium easily becomes clogged, but it is beneficial in preventing groundwater contamination. There is a higher risk of groundwater contamination for a shallow buried aquifer under intermittent MAR than continuous MAR, mainly because of the de-clogging effect of porous media during the intermittent period.

RESUMO

In the title compound, C(13)H(14)N(4)O·C(3)H(7)NO, a 1,5-phenyl-carbonohydrazide mol-ecule cocrystallizes with an N,N-dimethyl-formamide mol-ecule. In the 1,5-phenyl-carbonohydrazide mol-ecule, the two phenyl rings are twisted by an angle of 45.8 (5)°. Inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions contribute to a supra-molecular two-dimensional network in the (101) plane.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Recent studies have shown that noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) play essential roles in the development of a number of cancers. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been shown to contribute to the progression of colorectal cancer (CRC). METHODS: In this study, the expression levels of circular RNA 0060745 (circ_0060745), and microRNA 4736 (miR-4736) were measured using qRT-PCR. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis were used to evaluate the diagnostic value of circ_0060745. Transwell assay and cell counting kit-8 (CCK8) assay were used to determine the metastatic and proliferative capacity of CRC cells. The expression of chromosome segregation one like (CSE1L) was measured using Western blotting and immunohistochemistry (IHC). In addition, RNA pull-down assay and luciferase assay were performed to verify the targeted binding between miR-473,6 and circ_0060745, and between as miR-4736 and CSE1L. RESULTS: We showed that circ_0060745 was upregulated in CRC, and was associated with unfavorable clinicopathological characteristics. We also showed that circ_0060745 acted as an oncogene and promoted CRC cell proliferation and metastasis. Circ_0060745 was primarily located in the cytoplasm. Furthermore, miR-4736 was downregulated in CRC, was a downstream target of circ_0060745, and mediated proliferation and metastasis. We showed that circ_0060745 sequestered miR-4736, which resulted in CRC cell proliferation and metastasis. Finally, we showed that CSE1L, a downstream target of miR-4736, was upregulated in CRC and mediated suppression of proliferation and metastasis in CRC. CONCLUSION: The results of this study showed that circ_0060745 promoted CRC cell proliferation and metastasis via modulation of miR-4736/CSE1L signaling. The Circ_0060745/miR-4736/CSE1L axis might be a novel target for the treatment of CRC.
