RESUMO

Primordial odontogenic tumor (POT) is a rare benign mixed epithelial and mesenchymal odontogenic tumor that has been included as a new nosological form in the latest classification of the World Health Organization (WHO 2017). The first two clinical cases of POT treatment in children in Russia are presented. A comprehensive examination and surgical treatment of POT were carried out. The diagnosis was confirmed morphologically. OBJECTIVE: To inform maxillofacial surgeons and dentists about the clinical, radiological and morphological features of POT on the example of clinical experience and literature data.

RESUMO

Experience in substantiation, development and implementation of the system of quality of treatment-prevention help control in clinical stomatological centre of the Russian FMBA was described. Indices of stomatological status and quality of stomatological treatment in 35-44 age group in case of traditional organization of quality control in departmental stomatological clinic was given, comparison of the stomatological diseases intensities with the corresponding indices in Moscow and Russia was conducted. Improving dynamic depending upon the volume of stomatological treatment was traced and preferences of fool oral cavity sanation with inclusion of dental prosthetics making were revealed. The system of quality of treatment control based upon organization of consultative expert room was suggested, its efficacy was shown at the analysis of qualitative and quantitative indices of the mentioned above clinical centre work during 2 years in dynamic.

RESUMO

Pathways and rates of metabolism of three 14C1-compounds (methanol, formaldehyde, and formic acid) were investigated by means of the heterogeneous population of activated sludge microorganisms. For the above microbial population formaldehyde was the primary or preferential substrate. During an hour aeration it was processed by activated sludge 6 times faster than by sodium formiate and 2 times faster than by methanol. The basic pathways of its transformation were oxidation via formiate to CO2 with its partial reutilization and direct incorporation into the sludge biomass via the primary formation of serine. An addition of methanol increased the incorporation of 14C-formadehyde into biomass and decreased the formation of free 14CO2. The main mechanism of the transformation of 14C-formiate in activated sludge was its oxidation to CO2. An addition of methanol and formaldehyde induced no essential changes in the rate or pattern of their metabolism.

RESUMO

For complex investigation of coagulation blood system the universal rectifier should rectify homogeneous physical values in the direct and reverse rectifying modes. High operational and metrological parameters of the rectifier are gained due to the cylinder differential electromagnetic system, which has distributed magnetic and concentrated electrical parameters. Electromagnetic excitation system allows one to correct calculation errors by the method of changing current in the excitation coil, which simplifies the system's calculations.

RESUMO

Endoscopic examination of the stomach and duodenum with microscopic examination of biopsy material was performed in 66 patients with lower limbs chronic ischemia before reconstructive surgeries on aorto-ilio-femoral segment. High incidence (30.3%) of erosive-ulcerous diseases of the stomach and duodenum was revealed, 12% of the patients had undergone surgeries on the stomach and duodenum due to peptic ulcer. Hemodynamic studies of mesenteric vessels showed some increase of their diameter, slight increase of blood velocity, decrease of pulsation indices and circulatory resistance which may be regarded as the phenomenon of blood shunting and reduced blood flow in terminal branches of visceral vessels. Erosive-ulcerous diseases of the stomach and duodenum are more severe in patients with lower limbs critical ischemia.

RESUMO

Charged-particle pseudorapidity densities are presented for the d + Au reaction at sqrt[s(NN)] = 200 GeV with -4.2 < or = eta < or = 4.2. The results, from the BRAHMS experiment at BNL Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider, are shown for minimum-bias events and 0%-30%, 30%-60%, and 60%-80% centrality classes. Models incorporating both soft physics and hard, perturbative QCD-based scattering physics agree well with the experimental results. The data do not support predictions based on strong-coupling, semiclassical QCD. In the deuteron-fragmentation region the central 200 GeV data show behavior similar to full-overlap d+Au results at sqrt[s(NN)] = 19.4 GeV.

RESUMO

We have measured rapidity densities dN/dy of pi+/- and K+/- over a broad rapidity range (-0.1 < y < 3.5) for central Au + Au collisions at square root(sNN) = 200 GeV. These data have significant implications for the chemistry and dynamics of the dense system that is initially created in the collisions. The full phase-space yields are 1660 +/- 15 +/- 133 (pi+), 1683 +/- 16 +/- 135 (pi-), 286 +/- 5 +/- 23 (K+), and 242 +/- 4 +/- 19 (K-). The systematics of the strange to nonstrange meson ratios are found to track the variation of the baryochemical potential with rapidity and energy. Landau-Carruthers hydrodynamics is found to describe the bulk transport of the pions in the longitudinal direction.

RESUMO

On the model of burn shock in rats, the influence of antibodies to lysosomal enzymes has been studied in respect to the cathepsin D activity, oxygen regimen, acid-base equilibrium in blood, and animal survival. It has been shown that the antibodies inactivate the cathepsin D activity which is increased in burn shock. Because of the decreased cardiodepressant action of the lysosomal enzymes, the blood circulation improves, the manifestations of hypoxia and metabolic acidosis are attenuated. The results obtained confirm an important role of the lysosomal in the pathogenesis of bur, shock and permit one to consider its therapy using antibodies to the lysosomal enzymes to be promising.

RESUMO

The results of surgical treatment of 91 patient with acalculous cholecystitis are analysed. The active surgical tactics is substantiated. It is shown that in thorough examination of a patient before and at the time of operation, correction of pathology of the gallbladder and bile ducts and other alimentary organs, it is possible to achieve good long-term results. A classification of acalculous cholecystitis is presented.

RESUMO

Three types of human colonic carcinoma were studied in organ cultures. Apart from the formation of glandular structures and processes not structurally differing from those in human bodies, there occurred complexes of cancer cells spreading beyond the boundaries of the explant and forming no structures at all. It was shown that in organ cultures, cancer cells retained their capacity to synthesize carcinoembryonic antigen.

RESUMO

The development of autonomous systems for the artificial heart (AH) and for circulatory assistance (CA) has taken several directions. Studies relating to one direction--the development of paracorporeal and implanted systems based on thermal or electric motors--have been conducted at our institute in two stages, moving from stationary systems to totally implanted systems for long-term use. The development of these systems is described. Improvements in the linear solenoid motor, used in some of the first paracorporeal systems, enabled progress toward the development of implanted CA systems based on a reversing electrohydraulic actuator. Modifications were also made in the control system. Early animal testing of these systems indicated that they could be effective in unburdening the heart cavities during left and right bypasses. Full implantation, however, demanded that the devices have improved forms and dimensions and less weight. Smaller electromechanical systems are being developed, and we are experimenting with ways to increase the overall autonomy of the system. An orthotopic model of an implanted AH is promising. Experiments continue on the use of the body's own skeletal muscles to create a blood pump.
