RESUMO

This study aimed to assess the fear of COVID-19 in the Brazilian population, validate the FCV-19S and examine the association of its scores with sociodemographic and pandemic-related variables. A total of 7430 participants were recruited in an online survey. From the factor analysis results, FCV-19S proved to be suitable, indicating a higher level of fear for women and also for those aged 18-29 years. Besides, belonging to a high-risk group and having relatives diagnosed or deceased by COVID-19 showed a positive association with fear. These findings pointed out the most vulnerable groups, which can assist in planning mental health actions.

RESUMO

This study investigated how the Brazilian population perceived the risk of COVID-19, people's behavior in response to the pandemic, and trust in the health system in case of COVID-19 infection. The sample comprised 7430 Brazilian recruited through non-probability sampling. Association analysis was performed using logistic regression. The results revealed that the economically active population and those who lived with health professionals most perceived greater susceptibility to infection. In addition, the high severity of COVID-19 was more perceived by the elderly and by those who lived with individuals in high-risk groups.

OBJECTIVE: The World Health Organization has warned of the importance of looking at the pandemic from a gender perspective since biological, social, and cultural aspects can produce differences in the way women and men experience the ongoing pandemic situation. This study aimed to investigate Brazilian women's perception of COVID-19 concerning the susceptibility to infection, the severity of COVID-19, and the collective behavior in response to pandemic risks. It also sought to examine the COVID-19 level of perceived fears by the level of fear across specific COVID-19 fears, such as the risk of infection and the threat posed to life. METHODS: The sample consisted of 5527 Brazilian women aged between 18 and 74 years (mean age = 41, SD = 13.5) recruited from an online cross-sectional survey conducted in Brazil. The analysis addressed questions about the chance of COVID-19 infection, the impact on daily activities in case of infection, the threat to life posed by COVID-19, and the collective behavior in the pandemic context. In addition, the fear of COVID-19 was assessed using the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S). RESULTS: Women's age and personal conditions, particularly those related to family and domestic life, showed association with the perceived susceptibility to infection and the severity of COVID-19. The higher the perceived susceptibility and severity, the greater the fear level. The fear level was also higher among women whose perception was that people were ignoring the pandemic risks. CONCLUSION: This study provides insight into Brazilian women's perception of COVID-19 and their fear level during the pandemic's early stages. Our findings can increase the understanding of the adverse consequences caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on women, assisting in the strategic planning of public policies.

PURPOSE: This study aimed to validate the Portuguese version of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) and investigate its association with sociodemographic and pandemic-related variables in the population of Mozambique. PARTICIPANTS AND METHODS: A cross-sectional online survey recruited 387 Mozambicans aged 18 to 70 years. The psychometric properties of the Portuguese version of the FCV-19S were evaluated using confirmatory factor analysis and Rash analysis. Additionally, the association of the FCV-19S with sociodemographic and pandemic-related variables was investigated using the two-sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and logistic regression. RESULTS: The unidimensional factor structure of the Portuguese version of the FCV-19S was confirmed, and the scale showed good internal consistency reliability. The FCV-19S properties tested from the Rasch analysis were satisfactory. Women and those with lower education levels had higher scores of fear. Moreover, significantly higher levels of fear were observed among those being in an at-risk group for COVID-19, having family members or friends diagnosed or with death confirmed by COVID-19, and not being confident that they would receive adequate care from the public health services in case of COVID-19 infection. CONCLUSION: The Portuguese version of FCV-19S has strong psychometric properties and can be used to assess the fear of COVID-19 in the Portuguese-speaking population of Mozambique. As the adverse impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health represents a challenge to clinical psychiatry, and information on mental health in African countries is still scarce, our findings may assist in the planning of public mental health policies, aimed mainly at specific segments of the population, such as women and people in extreme poverty.

Wilhelm Dilthey foi um autor fundamental para que as ciências humanas tivessem sua autonomia de método e objeto em relação às ciências naturais, entretanto, o seu trabalho ainda é pouco conhecido pelos psicólogos no Brasil. Esse artigo tem como objetivo divulgar e discutir a obra diltheyana tendo como recorte as reverberações de suas proposições para a fenomenologia e a psicologia, enquanto ciências de rigor. A análise teórica, que não pretende ser uma revisão exaustiva da obra do autor, será centrada nos temas: mundo histórico, vivência e método compreensivo de pesquisa. Para finalizar, será realizado um exercício imaginativo de como seria a psicologia atualmente se a posição de Dilthey tivesse se tornado hegemônica no campo.


Wilhelm Dilthey was a fundamental author so that the human sciences had their autonomy of method and object in relation to the natural sciences, however, their work is still little known by psychologists in Brazil, so, this article aims to disclose and discuss the work of the author, having as a cut the reverberations of his propositions for phenomenology and psychology.. The theoretical analysis, which is not intended to be an exhaustive review of the author's work, will be centered on themes: historical world, experience and a comprehensive method of research. To conclude, an imaginative exercise of what psychology would be doing today if Dilthey's position had become hegemonic in the field.


Wilhelm Dilthey fue un autor fundamental para que las ciencias humanas tuvieran su autonomía de método y objeto en relación a las ciencias naturales, sin embargo, su trabajo todavía es poco conocido por los psicólogos en Brasil, destarte, este artículo tiene como objetivo divulgar y discutir la obra del autor, teniendo como recorte las reverberaciones de sus proposiciones para la fenomenología y la psicología, como ciencias de rigor. El análisis teórico, que no pretende ser una revisión exhaustiva de la obra del autor, se centrará en los temas: mundo histórico, vivencia y método comprensivo de investigación. Para finalizar, se realizará un ejercicio imaginativo de cómo sería la psicología actualmente si la posición de Dilthey se hubiera vuelto hegemónica en el campo.

RESUMO

A partir da instituição da Lei 10.216, da Portaria 3.088 e com a implementação da Rede de Atenção Psicossocial, a atuação em saúde mental pública no Brasil passa por grandes transformações, as quais os profissionais de saúde precisam se adaptar. O objetivo deste artigo é pesquisar e compreender as vivências dos psicólogos que atuam em saúde mental pública têm no cotidiano do seu serviço. Para tal, optou-se por um estudo fenomenológico onde foi realizada entrevista aberta com seis psicólogos que atuavam na Rede de Atenção Psicossocial. Como resultado, chegou-se ao entendimento de que esta é uma experiência bastante conflituosa, em que a vivência do psicólogo fica presa em dualidades: satisfação versus frustração, identificação com a área de saúde mental versus designação aleatória para o cargo, legislação versus realidade do serviço, e vida profissional versus vida pessoal.


From the enactment of Law 10.216, of Ordinance 3.088 and the implementation of Psychosocial Care Network, the public mental health work in Brazil goes through great changes, which health professionals must adapt. The purpose of this article is to research and understand the experiences of psychologists working in public mental health has on everyday of your service. With this aim, we opted for a phenomenological study which was conducted open interviews with three psychologists who worked on Psychosocial Care Network. As a result, came to the understanding that this is a rather conflicting experience, in which the experience of the psychologist gets trapped in dualities: satisfaction versus frustration, identification with the area of mental health versus random assignment to the office, law versus reality service, and professional life versus personal life.


Desde la promulgación de la Ley 10.216, de la Ordenanza de 3.088 y la implementación de la Red de Atención Psicosocial, el público el trabajo de salud mental en Brasil pasa por grandes cambios, que los profesionales de salud deben adaptarse. El propósito de este artículo es investigar y comprender las experiencias de los psicólogos que trabajan en salud mental pública tiene en todos los días de su servicio. Con este fin, se optó por un estudio fenomenológico que se realizó entrevistas abiertas con tres psicólogos que trabajaron en la Red de Atención Psicosocial. Como resultado, llegó a la comprensión de que esta es una experiencia bastante conflictiva, en la que la experiencia del psicólogo queda atrapada en dualidades: la satisfacción frente a la frustración, la identificación con el área de la salud mental en comparación con asignación aleatoria a la oficina, la ley y la realidad servicio, y la vida profesional frente a la vida personal.

RESUMO

O objetivo desse artigo é discutir a humanização no ensino médico, a partir da análise do currículo de dois cursos de medicina. A necessidade de formar profissionais de saúde qualificados para o trato humano, levou o Ministério da Educação a instituir mudanças nas Diretrizes Nacionais para o curso de Medicina, incluindo orientações específicas para formação de profissionais humanizados. Tal necessidade vem da realidade que hoje estamos enfrentando: a tecnicidade excessiva frente ao resgate da real essência do ser humano. A batalha travada entre a relação médico-paciente e médico-máquina-paciente é um desafio que está sendo colocado para as escolas médicas. Nosso propósito é levantar algumas questões sobre os efeitos das mudanças curriculares e problematizar o alcance do currículo formal para a prática dos futuros profissionais de saúde.


The aim of this article is to discuss the humanizing of medical education, starting from the analysis of the curriculum from two medical courses. The need to form qualified healthcare professionals for the humane treatment led the Ministry of Education to establish changes in the National Guidelines for the medical school. Including specific guidelines to form humanized professionals. This need comes from the reality that we are facing today: excessive technicality against the rescue of the real essence of the human being. The battle between the doctor- patient relationship and medical - machine – patient, which is challenging the medical schools. Our purpose is to raise some questions about the effect of the curriculum changes and problematize the reach of the formal curriculum for the practice of future health professionals.
