RESUMO
The study presents a study of the expression of CD68+ and CD163+ in the bladder as a marker of cancer in age-related aspects. As part of the work performed, 35 patients with bladder cancer with histological verification of the disease aged 36 to 70 years were studied. The role of CD68+ and CD163+ cells in bladder reactions can be interpreted as an indicator of diagnostic parameters of the activity of tissue macrophages and endothelial cells in cancer. Their progression during oncogenesis is especially pronounced in the group of middle-aged patients. In old age, there is a decrease in these parameters, which indicates in favor of a decrease in the activity of the development of oncological processes with age. The combination of morphological and immunological atypism leads to a violation of the functional specialization of the organ.

The skull bone tissue was studied under conditions of implantation of Grey nanostructured titanium containing biocomposites and bone morphogenetic protein-2 in the coating structure. Implantation of sandblast processed titanium led to more rapid formation of the bone tissue than the use of titanium biocomposites with microarch oxidation (due to porous surface). The type of metal processing was inessential for nanocomposites. Morphogenetic proteins stimulated regeneration and facilitated the formation of structures characteristic of the bone tissue.

The article describes the morphofunctional characteristics of erythrocytes in clinical models of early aging (essential hypertension, coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus) by the original clinical and cytomorphological material. It is shown that in the processes of aging and early aging following effects take places: the changing of the shape and size of cells, cell-cell interactions are broken, changing the elasticity of the cell membrane is changing too and cellular destruction is promoted.
RESUMO
The authors studied regenerative and reparative processes in the rat skull bone tissue when nanostructured titanium implants with different types of coating were applied. Optical, luminescence, scanning electron, and probe microscopies were used to assess results. The use of biological nanocomposites was established to considerably accelerate skull bone regeneration processes.

Kidney malignancies are among the most deadly genitourinary tumors. It is more common in males and is often seen in people aged 60-70 years old. The incidence rate of kidney cancer seems to be increasing. One reason for this may be the fact that imaging techniques, such as computed tomography scans are more commonly used. These tests may lead to the accidental detection of more kidney cancers. Fortunately, kidney cancer is often detected in the early stages, when the tumor is small and confined to the kidney. The objective of this study was the development of new diagnostic immunohistochemical methods. Clinical examination material of 134 people, including 94 (70%) males and 40 (30%) females, were used in this study. Immunohistochemical staining of tryptase was carried out in compliance with the requirements using Anti-Mast Cell Tryptase antibodies. Goat anti-mouse antibodies #AS-M1-HRP were used as secondary antibodies, visualized with ImmPACTTM DAB Peroxidase Substrate Kit (#SK-4105) according to the instructions of the manufacturer. The nuclei were counterstained with Mayer's hematoxylin, and the sections were embedded in a permanent mounting medium. The immunohistochemical study showed an increase in both tryptase- and chymase-positive mast cells in the renal parenchyma, compared with the control group. The number of mast cells with tryptase expression directly in the tumor was significantly less than the peritumoral localization. A similar pattern was observed for chymase-positive mast cells as the content of the tumor was more than 10 times higher than the intratumoral arrangement. The histological and immunological characteristics did not differ in different age groups. The immunohistochemical method of research in the diagnosis of renal tumors plays an important diagnostic and prognostic value. It can assist pathologists in difficult and ambiguous cases to correctly diagnose renal tumors. This will make it possible to prescribe the correct treatment and predict the course of malignant tumor growth in patients.

Impaired microcirculation with evolving sludge phenomenon and thrombosis underlie placental changes in maternal thyroid disease. Capillary blood circulatory defect is largely due to villous immaturity. Placental tissue ischemia gives rise to fibrinoid, sclerosis, and alternative processes. Dysadaptive changes are mostly observed in thyrotoxicosis and hypothyroidism. Adaptive processes evolving at the ultrastructural level are best pronounced in euthyroid goiter.

The reversible sorption preconcentration of noble metals (NMs) prior to their determination by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was investigated. Six new hypercrosslinked polystyrene sorbents were tested. The dependence of the degree of NMs sorption on the average degree of polymer network crosslinking and pore diameters was investigated. It was found that sorbents HP-100/6, HP-300/6 and HP-500/6 have low efficiency of NMs chlorocomplexes extraction. Among Stirosorb sorbents (Stirosorb-2, Stirosorb-514 and Stirosorb-584) the highest efficiency of the extraction of NMs' chlorocomplexes has Stirosorb-514. Tributylamine (TBA), N-methylbenzylamine (MBA), N,N-dimethylbenzylamine (DMBA), N,N-dibenzylmetylamine (DBMA) were studied as the reagents for extraction of Ru, Rh, Pd, Ir, Pt and Au chlorocomplexes from hydrochloric acid solutions in the form of ion associates by reversed-phase mechanism. The reversible quantitative extraction of Ru, Pd, Pt and Au in system Stirosorb-514 - TBA - 1M HCl in ethanol as eluent was achieved. It was found that resulting eluates do not contain matrix components which may cause spectral interferences on the stage of NMs determination by ICP-MS. The found scheme of NMs reversible sorption was validated by the analysis of certified reference materials of basic and ultrabasic rocks GPt-5, GPt-6 and SARM-7. Good agreement between the measured NMs concentrations and the certified values was demonstrated. The achieved limits of detection for Ru, Pd, Pt and Au vary within 10(-8)-10(-7)wt% range.
RESUMO
A technique is proposed for X-ray electron-probe microanalysis (EPMA) of individual particles of solid snow sediment. Two sample preparation procedures were used to analyze the sediments. The PAP-method and the original bi-exponential model were used for matrix correction and the calculation of elemental composition. A method of calculating composition has been developed for approximately spherical individual particles, comparable in size with an area of X-ray generation. An analytical expression is proposed for determining the composition of these particles, taking account of their size. Including the size factor reduces the error of composition determination from 0.5-45 to 0.2-22% relative percent, for particles in the size range 1-3 microm.
RESUMO
A test system of enzyme immunoassay (EIA) consisting of simian rotavirus SA-11 and rabbit antiserum has been developed for the detection of rotavirus antigen. Direct EIA was used for tests on stool specimens from 289 children varying in ages from 10 days to 12 years suffering from acute enteric infections and 56 normal children. The antigen was detected in 22.1% and 3.5%, respectively, in patients predominantly in the first 3 days of the disease and most frequently in cases running as gastroenteritis. The results are discussed with reference to the possibility of the development of rotavirus carrier state and mixed virus-bacteria infections.

In this work the data obtained in the examination of 338 children with diarrhea, aged 5 days to 14 years, are presented. The methods used for the collection of samples and their storage till the moment of inoculation are described. The possibility of using the microscopic examination of Campylobacter-containing native feces is shown. The work resulted in the isolation of 85 C. jejuni and C. coli strains. As shown in this work, the isolation of Campylobacter depended on the age of children and the season. The etiological importance of Campylobacter for the development of acute enterocolitis and gastroenteritis in 10% of the children under examination is suggested.

The antibacterial action of the oil extract obtained from tomato pulp has been studied with the use of museum strains Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 5638-P and Candida albicans ATCC 885-653, recommended for the determination of the antibacterial activity of medicinal preparations (State Pharmacopoeia, edition XI), as well as Enterobacter, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Klebsiella and Escherichia clinical strains. As revealed in this study, tomato pulp oil extract produces a wide-spectrum antibacterial effect on Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms and on fungi of the genus Candida. The study has determined that this antibacterial action is linked with the presence of a complex of organic acids (succinic, citric, tartaric, etc.).

In experiments on guinea pigs, the animals were resuscitated from clinical death caused by the acute loss of blood and subsequently treated intragastrically with enterosorbents: activated carbon fibrous material, alone and in combination with polymyxin B, polyphepan (a lignin derivative), polymethyloxan hydrogel and the sorbent Enterocat. In the animals, not treated during the postresuscitation period, a high population level of enterobacteria and Gram-positive aerobic cocci was registered in the contents of the small and large intestines and their translocation to mesenteric lymph nodes, liver, spleen and blood was observed. The amount of lactobacilli in the small intestine was decreased. Enterosorbents were found to decrease a high population level of intestinal microflora, to prevent the translocation of Gram-positive aerobic cocci and to inhibit the penetration of enterobacteria through the enteric barrier in the postresuscitation period. Combined use of activated carbon fibrous material with polymyxin B proved to be most effective for the elimination of enterobacteria.

The comparative study on the antimicrobial activity of metronidazole and its complex with cobalt sulfate showed that the complex formation increased 2-4 times the metronidazole activity against elective anaerobes. The study of the drug action on Trichomonas spp. revealed that as a result of the complexing with cobalt sulfate the metronidazole efficacy against the Trichomonas strains isolated from the discharge of a female patient with metronidazole resistant trichomoniasis increased, the activating effect of the complex on the host cells being suggested.

The replacement of conventional hemodialysis treatment for a patient with malfunctioning kidneys by providing him/her with a portable and disposable "artificial kidney" which is connected to implanted artery and veneous cannulas on a patient's wrist is discussed. During a continuous flow of blood, plasma diffuses through a plasmapheretic membrane, passes through a bed of plasmacompatible sorbent Styrosorb, and arrives at an ultrafiltration membrane. Vacuum-operated ultrafiltration removes excess water together with dissolved urea and other small molecules, and Stryosorb removes medium-sized toxic substances. The hemocompatibility of the sorbent is improved by chemical modification of the surface.
