RESUMO
The reaction of the inhibition of leukocyte adhesion to a glass slide under the action of measles antigen may be used for the evaluation of the activity of antigen-specific T-lymphocytes in the process of immunization against measles and recommended, along with serological studies, for finding out persons susceptible to measles among vaccinees. The immunological effect of booster immunizations against measles can be evaluated by the degree of the inhibition of leukocyte agglutination to a glass slide.

A complex immunological examination of 68 salmonellosis patients and 227 patients with alimentary toxinfections of unknown etiology has been made in the process of their treatment by rehydration therapy. At the acute period of the disease, irrespective of its nosologic form, cellular immunity has been suppressed. Cell-mediated immunity factors have been shown to depend on the severity of the disease.

The determination of the content of thermostable T-lymphocytes in the peripheral blood in 184 patients with acute virus hepatitis, as well as at the stage of the termination of the disease, has revealed the increased number of cells belonging to this subpopulation in all the groups under study. At the acute stage of the disease a rise in the number of thermostable T-cells is directly related to the severity of the process. Of different variants of the termination of hepatitis B, the highest content of thermostable T-cells is observed in chronic active hepatitis and chronic HBsAg carriership, while in chronic persistent hepatitis the content of thermostable T-cells is considerably lower.

In 272 patients with virus hepatitis A and B the content of theophylline-sensitive lymphocytes (T-suppressors) and theophylline-resistant lymphocytes (T-helpers) in the peripheral blood was determined. Differences in the content of T-suppressors in cases of acute virus hepatitis A and B with an equal degree of severity were revealed: at the peak of hepatitis A infection in the mild form of the disease the number of the cells was decreased, while at the peak of hepatitis B infection an increase in their number was observed in the mild and moderate forms of the disease and a decrease, in the severe form of the disease. In chronic persistent hepatitis a decrease in the content of T-suppressors and an increase in the content of T-helpers were observed, and in chronic active hepatitis (at the period of remission) and increase in the T-helpers occurred. Changes in the content of the cells of both types are not characteristic of HBsAg carriership.

A possibility to diminish the number of recurrences in chronic pancreatitis by using delagil (chloroquine) was shown during investigation of the status of cell-mediated immunity in chronic pancreatitis. The paper is concerned with the results of the determination of the ratio of theophylline-resistant T-cells (helpers) to theophylline-sensitive T-cells (suppressors) in the peripheral blood. The H/S ratio was determined in 49 patients with different patterns of chronic pancreatitis and in 20 controls. Enhanced (greater than or equal to 5) and low (less than or equal to 1.5) indices were characteristics of an unfavorable course of the disease. The H/S ratio is recommended for clinical use in pancreatology for prognostic purposes and to define the need of immune modifying therapy.

Clinical and immunologic examinations of 120 patients with central tapetoretinal abiotrophy, central serous choriopathy, central choroiditis, endogenic uveitis, thrombosis of the central retinal vein have revealed deviations in the T and B immunity systems and in autoimmune reactions to retinal S antigen, to uveopigmented antigens, and to human hepatic intracellular lipoprotein, as against the controls. The findings evidenced an imbalance of the T and B immunity parameters: reduced counts of T lymphocytes, theophylline-sensitive T suppressors, elevated immunoregulatory cell index, increased counts of B lymphocytes, circulating immune complexes, and blood serum immunoglobulins A and G. No essential shifts in leukocyte adhesion and antibody-dependent K cell cytotoxicity were found. The detected shifts are characteristic of the immune disorders common for various forms of uveoretinal abnormalities.

The authors analyze the course of acute virus hepatitis B in 11 children. Provide results of the treatment with T-activin of K cells in vitro and the clinico-immunologic data on 26 patients afflicted with lingering hepatitis B before and after the treatment with T-activin. Show the hereditary predisposition to an unfavourable course of virus hepatitis B.

The purpose of the study was to bring to light autoimmune reactions in patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) with regard to different tissue autoantigens as well as to reveal association between changes in cellular reactions and molecular structure of circulating immune complexes. Altogether 71 IDDM patients were investigated using the leukocyte migration inhibition test (LMIT), in which sensitization to autoantigens was observed in thymic tissue (35.2%), skin (35.2%), venous walls (22.5%), lymph nodes (15.5%), human liver lipoprotein (25.4%). In the presence of diabetic angiopathies the frequency of lymphocyte sensitization to dermal antigen was increased 5.4-fold, to thymic antigen--6.6-fold, and to liver lipoprotein--10.4-fold. As the disease progressed, a considerable increase in the number of mean molecular (2.7-fold) and small molecular (1.6-fold) circulating immune complexes was observed. Direct correlation between their levels and severity of diabetic microangiopathies was established.
