RESUMO

Objective: To assess the role of coronary arteries in acute coronary syndrome patients who have survived sudden cardiac arrest. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Department of Cardiology at Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology, Multan from 1st May 2021 to 1st October 2021. A total of 203 patients who were diagnosed with sudden cardiac arrest were included as subjects of the study. Baseline data of all patients including age, sex, body mass index, history of smoking, diabetes and hypertension was noted. Coronary angiography was performed in all patients within five days after admission in hospital due to SCA. Results: The average age of patients was 52.61±11.09 years. There were 140 (68.97%) male and 63 (31.03%) female patients. There were 131 (64.53%) patients with STEMI and 72 (35.47%) patients with Non-STEMI. LMCAD were diagnosed in 29 (14.29%) patients, RCA in 88 (43.35%) patients, LAD in 174 (85.71%) Patients and LCX in 41 (20.20%) patients. Conclusion: LAD has the most involvement among the coronary arteries (85.71%) in patients with sudden cardiac arrest.

RESUMO

Satellite RNAs (satRNAs) are small noncoding subviral RNA pathogens in plants that depend on helper viruses for replication and spread. Despite many decades of research, the origin of satRNAs remains unknown. In this study we show that a ß-glucuronidase (GUS) transgene fused with a Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) Y satellite RNA (Y-Sat) sequence (35S-GUS:Sat) was transcriptionally repressed in N. tabacum in comparison to a 35S-GUS transgene that did not contain the Y-Sat sequence. This repression was not due to DNA methylation at the 35S promoter, but was associated with specific DNA methylation at the Y-Sat sequence. Both northern blot hybridization and small RNA deep sequencing detected 24-nt siRNAs in wild-type Nicotiana plants with sequence homology to Y-Sat, suggesting that the N. tabacum genome contains Y-Sat-like sequences that give rise to 24-nt sRNAs capable of guiding RNA-directed DNA methylation (RdDM) to the Y-Sat sequence in the 35S-GUS:Sat transgene. Consistent with this, Southern blot hybridization detected multiple DNA bands in Nicotiana plants that had sequence homology to Y-Sat, suggesting that Y-Sat-like sequences exist in the Nicotiana genome as repetitive DNA, a DNA feature associated with 24-nt sRNAs. Our results point to a host genome origin for CMV satRNAs, and suggest novel approach of using small RNA sequences for finding the origin of other satRNAs.

RESUMO

This study mainly aims to develop two effective and practical multi-criteria group decision-making approaches by taking advantage of the ground-breaking theory of PROMETHEE family of outranking methods. The presented variants of Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE) method are acknowledged to address the complex decision-making problems carrying the ambiguous information, expressible in terms of yes, no, abstinence and refusal, owing to the preeminent condition and wider structure of spherical fuzzy sets. Both of the proposed approaches seek help from the Shannon's entropy formula to evaluate the object weights of the decision criteria. The proposed techniques operate by taking into account the deviation between each pair of potential alternatives in accordance to different types of preference functions to determine the preference indices. The proposed technique of spherical fuzzy PROMETHEE I method carefully compares the positive and negative outranking flows of the alternative to get partial rankings. In contrast, the spherical fuzzy PROMETHEE II method has the edge to eliminate the incomparable pair by employing the net outranking flow to derive the final ranking. The application of proposed approaches is explained via a case study in the field of medical concerning the selection of appropriate site to establish Fangcang shelter hospital in Wuhan to treat COVID-19 patients. The convincing comparisons of the proposed methodologies with q-rung orthopair fuzzy PROMETHEE and spherical fuzzy TOPSIS methods are also included to verify the aptitude of the proposed methodology.

RESUMO

Rosa indica symbol of godness and beauty known for various healing power, has astringent, sedative, anti-inflammatory and antidepressant qualities. Standard methods were used for qualitative detection of phyto-compounds, and quantitative detection of antioxidants was done using DPPH radical scavenging assay, total phenolics and total flavonoids content were expressed in mg GAE/g dry weight and mg QE/g dry weight. Results revealed phyto-compounds presence in all varieties under study however maximum % inhibition was observed by R. indica var pink perfume (94 ± 0.6) with IC50 value 0.3376 ± 0.01 mg/mL. Highest phenolic and flavonoid content was observed in the leaves extract of R. indica var cardinal red, i.e. 3.3553 ± 0.11 (ethanol) mg of Gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/g dry weight and 3.736 ± 0.001(ethanol) mg of quercetin equivalents (QE)/g dry weight, respectively, at conc. 0.125 mg/mL. Our finding provides evidence that all varieties of rose contain medicinally important bioactive compounds and justifies their use for treatment of different diseases.
