RESUMO

The mesocotyl is of great significance in seedling emergence and in responding to biotic and abiotic stress in maize. The NAM, ATAF, and CUC2 (NAC) transcription factor family plays an important role in maize growth and development; however, its function in the elongation of the maize mesocotyl is still unclear. In this study, we found that the mesocotyl length in zmnac17 loss-of-function mutants was lower than that in the B73 wild type. By using transcriptomic sequencing technology, we identified 444 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between zmnac17-1 and B73, which were mainly enriched in the "tryptophan metabolism" and "antioxidant activity" pathways. Compared with the control, the zmnac17-1 mutants exhibited a decrease in the content of indole acetic acid (IAA) and an increase in the content of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Our results provide preliminary evidence that ZmNAC17 regulates the elongation of the maize mesocotyl.

BACKGROUND: Neuron-specific gene family member 1 (NSG1) is a 21 kDa endosomal protein that is specifically expressed in neurons. AIMS: This study was to explore the expression of NSG1 and possible mechanism in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (ESCC). METHODS: The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was consulted to analyze the expression of NSG1 in ESCC. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining was used to evaluate NSG1 expression in ESCC cancerous tissues and matched paracancerous tissues. The CCK-8 assay, wound-healing assay, and transwell assay were used to detect the cell viability, migration, and invasion of ESCC cells. Western blot was used to assay epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related proteins and ERK signaling pathway protein expression. RESULTS: The results showed that the expression of NSG1 in ESCC cancerous tissues was higher than noncancerous tissues. Compared with negative control (NC) group, cell viability, migration. and invasion significantly increased, the expression of p-ERK in ERK signaling pathway was significantly upregulated, the expressions of mesenchymal marker Vimentin and EMT-related transcription factors including snail and slug were significantly upregulated, and the expression of epithelial marker E-cadherin was significantly downregulated in KYSE-150 cells with NSG1 overexpression. However, these effects were reversed by the ERK signaling pathway inhibitor U0126. On the other hand, TE-1 cells with NSG1 knockdown had the changes contrary to that in KYSE-150 cells with NSG1 overexpression. CONCLUSION: NSG1 plays a potential carcinogenic role on the occurrence and progression of ESCC, and aberrant NSG1 expression might promote ESCC cell EMT by the activation of ERK signaling pathway.

Traditional methods for obtaining soil heavy metal content are expensive, inefficient, and limited in monitoring range. In order to meet the needs of soil environmental quality evaluation and health status assessment, visible near-infrared spectroscopy and XRF spectroscopy for monitoring heavy metal content in soil have attracted much attention, because of their rapid, nondestructive, economical, and environmentally friendly features. The use of either of these spectra alone cannot meet the accuracy requirements of traditional measurements, while the synergistic use of the two spectra can further improve the accuracy of monitoring heavy metal lead content in soil. Therefore, this study applied various spectral transformations and preprocessing to vis-NIR and XRF spectra; used the whale optimization algorithm (WOA) and competitive adaptive re-weighted sampling (CARS) algorithms to identify feature spectra; designed a combination variable model (CVM) based on multi-layer spectral data fusion, which improved the spectral preprocessing and spectral feature screening process to increase the efficiency of spectral fusion; and established a quantitative model for soil Pb concentration using partial least squares regression (PLSR). The estimation performance of three spectral fusion strategies, CVM, outer-product analysis (OPA), and Granger-Ramanathan averaging (GRA), was discussed. The results showed that the accuracy and efficiency of the CARS algorithm in the fused spectra estimation model were superior to those of the WOA algorithm, with an average coefficient of determination (R2) value of 0.9226 and an average root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.1984. The accuracy of the estimation models established, based on the different spectral types, to predict the Pb content of the soil was ranked as follows: the CVM model > the XRF spectral model > the vis-NIR spectral model. Within the CVM fusion strategy, the estimation model based on CARS and PLSR (CARS_D1+D2) performed the best, with R2 and RMSE values of 0.9546 and 0.2035, respectively. Among the three spectral fusion strategies, CVM had the highest accuracy, OPA had the smallest errors, and GRA showed a more balanced performance. This study provides technical means for on-site rapid estimation of Pb content based on multi-source spectral fusion and lays the foundation for subsequent research on dynamic, real-time, and large-scale quantitative monitoring of soil heavy metal pollution using high-spectral remote sensing images.

BACKGROUND: RET fusions are rare oncogenic drivers in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). While activating RET rearrangements are found in NSCLC patients harboring epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) genetic alterations at resistance to EGFR inhibitors, the extent to which co-occurring genomic alterations exist and how they might affect prognosis or therapy response is poorly understood. METHODS: Targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) was used to assess 380 baseline patients with primary RET fusions and 71 EGFR-mutated NSCLC patients who acquired RET fusions after developing resistance to EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs). RESULTS: Primary RET fusions were more likely associated with females and younger age, with KIF5B being the predominant fusion partner. In baseline patients, both SMAD4 (5.3% vs. 0.0%, P = 0.044) and MYC copy-number gain variants (6.9% vs. 0.0%, P = 0.009) were more frequently co-mutated with KIF5B-RET than CCDC6-RET. By contrast, CDKN2A (11.3% vs. 2.4%, P = 0.003) mutations were significantly enriched in CCDC6-RET-rearranged baseline patients. A significant increase in the proportion of CCDC6-RET was observed in acquired RET-rearranged patients (47.3% vs. 22.5%, P < 0.001). The median progression-free survival (PFS) of patients harboring RB1 and TP53 double-mutations (5.5 vs. 10.0 months, P = 0.020) or ERBB2 amplification (5.6 vs. 10.0 months, P = 0.041) was significantly shorter than the wild-type counterparts. Moreover, we identified that RET fusions were more likely associated with acquired resistance (AR) to third-generation EGFR-TKIs than previous generations of EGFR-TKIs. CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, we depicted the mutational profiles of NSCLC patients who harbor RET fusions at baseline or after resistance to EGFR-TKIs. Furthermore, our results suggest that RET fusions mediate secondary resistance to third-generation EGFR-TKIs and might be associated with poor prognosis in patients with NSCLC.

The aggregation and fibril formation of amyloid ß(Aß) peptides onto a ganglioside-GM1-containing lipid membrane is a cause of neurodegenerative diseases. The mechanism of the initial binding and the conformational changes of Aß on the membrane should be clarified. Fluorescence microscopy and Raman spectroscopy have been performed to investigate the supporting planar lipid bilayers (SPBs) composed of ganglioside-GM1, sphingomyelin and cholesterol. It is demonstrated that the SPBs are in a liquid-crystalline state when placed on mica, and increasing the amount of ganglioside-GM1 can decrease the lateral interaction between the acyl chains of the SPBs. It has been found that Aß(1-40) initially interacts with the galactose ring of the ganglioside-GM1 head group, leading to its binding and gradual aggregation on the membrane surface. The obvious change observed in Raman spectroscopy in the ν(C-H) region confirms that the hydrophobic C-terminal of Aß(1-40) inserts itself into the hydrophobic part of the SPBs. The Raman data indicate that α-helix and ß-sheet structures of Aß(1-40) increase and coexist over longer time frames. Based on these results, a model was proposed to describe the mechanism of the conformational changes and the aggregation of Aß(1-40) that are mediated by ganglioside-GM1-containing SPBs.

BACKGROUND: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) represents a highly immunogenic malignancy. Immunologic tolerance facilitated by myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) is implicated in primary or secondary resistance mechanisms in NSCLC. The potential role of APE1 in regulating NSCLC metastasis by targeting MDSCs remains uncertain. METHODS: This study utilized a plasmid, Plxpsp-mGM-CSF, to induce elevated granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) expression in A549 cells. Tumor transplantation experiments involved A549, A549+GM-CSF, and A549+GM-CSF-siAPE1 cell lines. Evaluation encompassed MDSCs, Treg cells, IgG, CD3, and CD8 levels. RESULTS: Notably, lung cancer tissues and cells displayed markedly reduced APE1 expression. siAPE1 transfection significantly curtailed tumor growth compared to the A549+GM-CSF group. APE1 knockdown orchestrated immune system modulation in lung tumor mice, characterized by diminished MDSCs but augmented Treg cells, IgG, CD3, and CD8. Additionally, APE1 knockdown led to reduced levels of pro-MDSC cytokines (HGF, CCL5, IL-6, CCL12) and a concurrent upregulation of the anti-MDSC cytokine IL-1ra. Furthermore, APE1 knockdown impeded cell viability in both A549 and H1650 cells. CONCLUSIONS: Transplantation of A549-GM-CSF amplified MDSC levels, fostering accelerated tumor growth, while mitigating MDSC levels through APE1 knockdown hindered tumor progression and alleviated inflammatory infiltration in lung cancer tissues. Strategies targeting the APE1/MDSC axis offer a promising approach for lung cancer prevention and treatment, presenting novel insights for NSCLC management.

Recently, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) based on quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) perovskites have drawn more attention due to their excellent stability, although their efficiencies are still lower than those of 3D ones. Here we applied post-treatment of 2D perovskite GAMA5Pb5I16 (GA = guanidinium, MA = methylammonium) films with acetaminophen (AMP) to improve their performance. The efficiency of the solar cells with 2 mg/mL AMP post-treatment increased to 18.01% from 16.72% for those without post-treatment. The efficiency improvement results from the enlarged grain size, reduced trap state density, and better energy level matching after AMP post-treatment. In addition, the stability of the solar cells is improved. The solar cells with AMP post-treatment maintain 91% of the original power conversion efficiency value after aging for 30 days in the atmosphere. This work opens a new approach for the efficiency and stability enhancement of quasi-2D PSCs.

Heavy metal migration in soil poses a serious threat to the soil and groundwater. Understanding the migration pattern of heavy metals (HMs) under different factors could provide a more reasonable position for pollution evaluation and targetoriented treatment of soil heavy metal. In this study, the migration behavior of Pb and Cd in co-contaminated soil under different pH and ionic strength (NaCl concentration) was simulated using convective dispersion equation (CDE). We predicted the migration trends of Pb and Cd in soils after 5, 10, and 20 years via PHREEQC. The results showed that the migration time of Cd in the soil column experiment was about 60 days faster than that of Pb, and the migration trend was much steeper. The CDE was proved to describe the migration behavior of Pb and Cd (R2 > 0.75) in soil. The predicted results showed that Cd migrated to 15-20 cm of soil within 7 years and Pb stayed mainly in the top 0-6 cm of soil within 5 years as the duration of irrigation increased. Overall, our study is expected to provide new insight into the migration of heavy metal in soil ecosystems and guidance for reducing risk of heavy metal in the environment.

The vitamin B12 molecule has long fascinated chemists because of its exclusive complex structure and unusual reactivities in biological systems. In order to achieve a better understanding of the structural attribute of the Vitamin B12 molecule when it interacted with metal, in the present paper, the vitamin B12 molecules adsorbed on variation of copper electrode potential from 0 to -1.0 V was studied by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). An excellent SERS substrate was obtained with insitu electrochemical oxidation-reduction cycle (ORC), and its surface roughness was characterized by atomic force microscope (AFM). Assignments of Raman peaks observed by normal Raman spectrum (NRS) and SERS spectra of vitamin B12 molecule were given based on previous literatures. It was found that the potential-dependent relative intensity changed in SERS spectra which depended on the vitamin B12 molecular orientation with respect to the copper surface according to the surface selection rule (SSR). It was concluded that the corrin ring was adsorbed in tilt form on copper surface and the Co-CN group was farther away from the copper surface at higher potentials. With the decrease in potential, the tilt angle between the corrin ring and copper surface became smaller, then the Co-N group and 5,6 dimethylbenzimidazole group got close to the copper surface. The results offered an important structural attribute of vitamin B12 molecule when it interacted with copper electrode for the first time, and supplied a meaningful reference for the electrochemical bioactivity of the vitamin B12 molecule.

Background: Engaging in social activities can help older persons with their depressed symptoms. Few studies, however, have looked into the connection between social interactions and depressed symptoms in Chinese older persons. The aim of this study was to investigate differences in older Chinese individuals' social activity involvement and depressive symptoms across urban and rural settings. Methods: A cross-sectional investigation using information from the 2018 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), which was limited to older individuals aged 60 and over. Generalized linear models were constructed to assess the effects of participants' characteristics and specific social activities on CES-D scores. The association between specific social activities and depressed symptoms was investigated using multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results: In this study, it was discovered that older individuals had a prevalence of depressed symptoms of 36.2%, with rural older adults having a greater prevalence of depressive symptoms (39.7%) than urban older adults (30.9%). Our results showed that for urban respondents, providing help to others (not regularly. OR = 0.753, 95% CI: 0.579-0.980, P = 0.035), going to a sport (not regularly. OR = 0.685, 95% CI: 0.508-0.924, P = 0.013), and using the Internet (not regular. OR = 0.613, 95% CI: 0.477-0.789, P < 0.001; almost weekly. OR = 0.196, 95% CI: 0.060-0.645, P = 0.007) were all significantly and negatively associated with depressive symptoms, while for rural respondents, interacting with friends (not regularly. OR = 1.205, 95% CI: 1.028-01.412, P = 0.021) and using the Internet (not regularly. OR = 0.441, 95% CI: 0.278-0.698, P < 0.001) were significantly and negatively associated with depressive symptoms. Conclusions: According to our research, there is a cross-sectional relationship between participating in a specific social activity and depressed symptoms in Chinese older adults, and this relationship varies across urban and rural older adults. This suggests that taking part in specific social activities may be crucial for reducing depression symptoms in older persons, developing more focused interventions that might support healthy aging, and offering a guide for policymakers and activists working to improve the mental health of seniors.

Recently, quasi two-dimensional (Q-2D) perovskites with alternating cations in the interlayer space (ACI) have attracted more attentions owing to their elevated stability compared with three-dimensional (3D) analogs. While the efficiency of the devices derived from Q-2D perovskites is much smaller than that based on 3D perovskites. Here, we utilized urea and methoxyamine hydrochloride (MOAH) dual additives to acquire high quality Q-2D ACI perovskite GA(MA)5Pb5I16 (GA = guanidinium, MA = methylammonium) films. The efficiency of the perovskite solar cells (PSCs) derived from the Q-2D perovskite films induced by the synergistic effect of urea and MOAH dual additives increases to 20.32% from 17.21% for the devices without additive. This efficiency enhancement could be attributed to the enlarged grain size, improved crystallinity, optimized quantum well thickness distribution, and reduced trap states of the perovskite films. Moreover, the solar cells with dual additives present improved stability. The efficiency of devices with dual additives holds 95% of the original value after storage for 1600 h in ambient air. These results prove that the synergistic effect of urea and MOAH is an effective method to achieve highly efficient and stable Q-2D PSCs.

More accurate source analysis of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in atmospheric fallout that endanger biodiversity and human health remains needed. This study determined the concentrations of seven PTEs, including Pb, Cd, As, Cu, Zn, Ni, and Cr, by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), and the sources of PTE pollution were quantified using multivariate statistical analysis, including principal component analysis (PCA), cluster analysis (CA), and Pearson correlation analysis, and Moran index was applied for mutual verification and supplementation. PCA and CA revealed that the same mixed sources of Pb, Cd, As, Cu, and Zn were found in the atmospheric dust fall in the study area, while Ni and Cr had the same source of pollution. Pearson correlation analysis provided that there were strong correlations between Pb-Cd, Pb-As, Pb-Cu, Cd-As, Cd-Cu, As-Cu, and Ni-Cr, indicating commonality between the two sources of heavy metal pollution. Additionally, the Moran index showed that strong spatial correlations were observed between Pb, Cd, As, Cu, and Zn, whose sources were mainly related to non-ferrous metal processing smelter smelting slag sites and an environmental company in the study area. However, no spatial correlation was found between Ni and Cr, which mainly originated from the local geological background.

Poor stability retards the industrialization of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). One of the effective ways to solve this issue is to modify the perovskite surface to improve the efficiency and stability of the PSCs. Herein, we synthesized CuFeS2 nanocrystals and applied them to modify the perovskite surface. The efficiency of the PSCs with CuFeS2 modification is improved to 20.17% from 18.64% for the control devices. Some investigations demonstrate that the CuFeS2 modification passivates the perovskite surface defects and induces better energy band arrangement. Furthermore, the stability of the PSCs with CuFeS2 modification is improved compared with the devices without CuFeS2 modification. The efficiency of the PSCs with CuFeS2 modification maintains 93% of its initial value, whereas that of the devices without CuFeS2 modification decreases to 61% of the initial value. This work demonstrates that CuFeS2 is a novel material used as a modification layer to enhance the efficiency and stability of the PSCs.

Potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in the dustfall-soil-crop system pose a serious threat to the ecological environment and agricultural production. However, there is still a knowledge gap in terms of better understanding the distinctive sources of PTEs by integrating various models and technologies. In this study, we comprehensively investigated the concentrations, distribution, and sources of seven PTEs in a dustfall-soil-crop system (424 samples in total) near a typical non-ferrous mining area, using absolute principal component score/multiple linear regression (APCS/MLR) combined with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and microscopy techniques. Our results showed that the mean values of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn in the soils were 211, 14, 105, 91, 65, 232, and 325 mg/kg, respectively. These values were significantly higher than the background soil values in Yunnan. Except for Ni and Cr, all elements in the soil were significantly higher than the screening values of agricultural lands in China. The spatial distribution of PTE concentrations was similar among the three media. The ACPS/MLR, XRD, and microscopy analyses further indicated that soil PTEs mainly originated from industrial activities (37 %), vehicle emissions and agricultural activities (29 %), respectively. Dustfall PTEs mainly originated from vehicle emissions and industrial activities, accounting for 40 % and 37 %, respectively. Crop PTEs mainly originated from vehicle emissions and soil (57 %), and agricultural activities (11 %), respectively. PTEs seriously threaten the safety of agricultural products and the ecological environment once they settle from the atmosphere to soil and crop leaves, further accumulate in crops, and spread through the food chain. Therefore, our study provides scientific evidence for government regulators to control PTE pollution and reduce their environmental risks in dustfall-soil-crop systems.

Up until now, cancer refractoriness and distal organ metastatic disease remain as major obstacles for oncologists to achieve satisfactory therapeutic effects for lung adenocarcinoma patients. Previous studies indicated that TRIM55, which participates in the natural development of muscle and cardiovascular system, plays a protective role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) pathogenesis. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to unveil the detailed molecular mechanism of TRIM55 and identify the potential target for lung adenocarcinoma patients. Surgical samples and lung cancer cell lines were collected to detect the TRIM55 expression for patients with or without lymph node/distal organ metastasis. Cellular functional assays including transwell assay, wound healing assay, cellular survivability assay, etc. as well as ubiquitination assay were performed to evaluate the impact of TRIM55/Snail1 regulatory network via the UPP pathway on lung cancer tumor cell migration and chemo-resistance. Lung cancer tissues and tumor cell lines exhibited significantly lower levels of TRIM55 expression. Functional study further indicated that TRIM55 inhibited chemo-resistance, migration, and cancer stem-cell like phenotype of tumor cells. Further detailed molecular experiments indicated that TRIM55 promoted degradation of Snail1 via the UPP pathway, which played an interesting role in the regulation of cancer cell malignancy. This study provided novel theory that TRIM55 acted as a potential tumor suppressor by inhibition of tumor cell malignancy through enhancement of Snail1 degradation via the UPP pathway. Our research will inspire further exploration on TRIM55 to promote therapeutic effects for lung adenocarcinoma patients.

BACKGROUND: Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors are the first-line treatment for advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. However, their efficacy in metastatic NSCLC patients remains controversial. AIM OF THE STUDY: The aim of our study was to evaluate the prognosis of advanced metastatic NSCLC patients treated with PD-1 inhibitors, and discuss the predictive effect of metastatic site on the long-term outcome. METHODS: The Embase, Ovid Medline, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and PubMed databases were systematically screened up to February 10, 2020. Twenty-five eligible studies, involving 8,067 patients that assessed the impact of metastatic sites on survival outcome were incorporated in our study. Overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were described as hazard ratio (HR) with 95% confidence interval (CI). RESULTS: Among the advanced NSCLC patients, the median proportion of brain, liver, bone, and adrenal gland metastases were 21%, 17%, 35%, and 21%, respectively. Patients with metastases to the brain, liver, and bone had worse OS compared to patients without these metastases when treated with PD-1 inhibitors. Similarly, patients with metastasis to the brain and liver were more likely to progress when treated with PD-1 inhibitors. Besides, patients with multiple metastatic sites had worse PFS compared to patients with one metastatic site, while no significant difference was found in terms of OS. CONCLUSIONS: Based on the findings of our systematic review and meta-analysis, metastatic sites were independent predictors of the survival outcome for advanced NSCLC patients treated with PD-1 inhibitors.

Extending photoelectric response to the near-infrared (NIR) region using upconversion luminescent (UCL) materials is one promising approach to obtain high-efficiency perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, challenges remain due to the shortage of highly efficient UCL materials and device structure. NaCsWO3 nanocrystals exhibit near-infrared absorption arising from the local surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect, which can be used to boost the UCL of rare-earth-doped upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs). In this study, using NaCsWO3 as the LSPR center, NaCsWO3@NaYF4@NaYF4:Yb,Er nanoparticles were synthesized and the UCL intensity could be enhanced by more than 124 times when the amount of NaCsWO3 was 2.8 mmol %. Then, such efficient UCNPs were not only doped into the hole transport layer but also used to modify the perovskite film in PSCs, resulting in the highest power conversion efficiency (PCE) reaching 18.89% (that of the control device was 16.01% and the PCE improvement was 17.99%). Possible factors for the improvement of PSCs were studied and analyzed. It is found that UCNPs can broaden the response range of PSCs to the NIR region due to the LSPR-enhanced UCL and increase the visible light reabsorption of PSCs due to the scattering and reflection effect, which generate more photocurrent in PSCs. In addition, UCNPs modify the perovskite film by effectively filling the holes and gaps at the grain boundary and eliminating the perovskite surface defects, which lead to less carrier recombination and then effectively improve the performance of PSC devices.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa exotoxin A (PEA) is a number of family of bacterial ADP-ribosylating toxins and possesses strong immunogenicity. The detoxified exotoxin A, as a potent vaccine adjuvant and vaccine carrier protein, has been extensively used in human and animal vaccinations. However, the expression level of PEA gene in Escherichia coli is relative low which is likely due to the presence of rare codon and high levels of GC content. In order to enhance PEA gene expression, we optimized PEA gene using E. coli preferred codons and expressed it in E. coli BL21 (DE3) by using pET-20b(+) secretory expression vector. Our results showed that codon optimization significantly reduced GC content and enhanced PEA gene expression (70% increase compared with that of the wild-type). Moreover, the codon-optimized PEA possessed biological activity and had the similar toxic effects on mouse L292 cells compared with the wild-type PEA gene. Codon optimization will not only improve PEA gene expression but also benefit further modification of PEA gene using nucleotide-mediated site-directed mutagenesis. A large number of purified PEA proteins will provide the necessary conditions for further PEA functional research and application.

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites with well-defined morphology have attracted much attention due to their unique photophysical properties. However, controlling the morphology of nanocrystalline perovskite to improve its photoelectric application remains a challenge. In this article, using a modified solution deposition method, we successfully synthesized uniform methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3) nanoplates, nanocubes, and nanorods and investigated the effect of morphology on the photoelectric properties of these materials. We found that the morphology can be controlled by regulating the amounts of reactant methylammonium iodide (MAI) and the rate at which MAPbI3 precursor is added into toluene solution, and that the corresponding size distributions can be optimized by tuning the final vacuum-drying temperature. The morphology has an obvious effect on the bandgap optimization and fluorescence enhancement of MAPbI3, and the nanoplates exhibit stronger photoluminescence intensity and have a longer carrier lifetime than nanocubes and nanorods. The results show that the morphologies of MAPbI3 perovskite nanocrystals can be controlled by tuning the synthesizing conditions, and the MAPbI3 perovskite nanocrystals with special morphology can be used in special nanosize optoelectronic devices.

A new planar-type ion channel biosensor with the function of cell culture has been fabricated using silicon on an insulator substrate as the sensor chip material. Coating of the sensor chip with fibronectin was essentially important for cell incubation on the chip. Although the seal resistance was quite low (approximately 7 Mohms) compared with the pipette patch-clamp gigaohm seal, the whole-cell channel current of the transient receptor potential vanilloid type 1 (TRPV1) channel expressing HEK293 cells was successfully observed, with a good signal-to-noise ratio, using capsaicin as a ligand molecule.
