Microfluidic paper-based analytical devices (µPADs) feature an economic and sensitive nature, while acoustofluidics displays contactless and versatile virtue, and both of them gained tremendous interest in the past decades. Integrating µPADs with acoustofluidic techniques provides great potential to overcome the inherent shortcomings and make appealing achievements. Here, we present acoustofluidics-assisted multifunctional paper-based analytical devices that leverage bulk acoustic waves to realize multiple applications on paper substrates, including uniform colorimetric detection, microparticle/cell enrichment, fluorescence amplification, homogeneous mixing, and nanomaterial synthesis. The glucose detection in the range of 5-15 mM was conducted to perform uniform colorimetric detection. Various types (brass powder, copper powder, diamond powder, and yeast cells) and sizes (5-200 µm) of solid particles and biological cells can be enriched on paper in a few seconds or minutes; thus, fluorescence amplification by 3 times was realized with the enrichment. The high-throughput and homogeneous mixing of two fluids can be achieved, and based on the mixing, nanomaterials (ZnO nanosheets) were synthesized on paper. We analyzed the underlying mechanisms of these applications in the devices, which are attributed to Faraday waves and Chladni patterns. With their simple fabrication and prominent effectiveness, the devices open up new possibilities for paper-based microfluidic devices.

Hydrogel microspheres are biocompatible materials widely used in biological and medical fields. Emulsification and stirring are the commonly used methods to prepare hydrogels. However, the size distribution is considerably wide, the monodispersity and the mechanical intensity are poor, and the stable operation conditions are comparatively narrow to meet some sophisticated applications. In this paper, a T-shaped stepwise microchannel combined with a simple side microchannel structure is developed to explore the liquid-liquid dispersion mechanism, interfacial evolution behavior, satellite droplet formation mechanism and separation, and the eventual successful synthesis of dextran hydrogel microspheres. The effect of the operation parameters on droplet and microsphere size is comprehensively studied. The flow pattern and the stable operation condition range are given, and mathematical prediction models are developed under three different flow regimes for droplet size prediction. Based on the stable operating conditions, a microdroplet-based method combined with UV light curing is developed to synthesize the dextran hydrogel microsphere. The highly uniform and monodispersed dextran microspheres with good mechanical intensity are synthesized in the developed microfluidic platform. The size of the microsphere could be tuned from 50 to 300 µm with a capillary number in the range of 0.006-0.742. This work not only provides a facile method for functional polymeric microsphere preparation but also offers important design guidelines for the development of a robust microreactor.

BACKGROUND: Smoking rationalisation beliefs are a huge barrier to quitting smoking. What types of rationalisations should be emphasised in smoking cessation interventions? Although past literature has confirmed the negative relationship between those beliefs and motivation to stop smoking, little is known regarding the importance and performance of those beliefs on motivation with varying cigarette dependence. The study aimed to ascertain rationalisations that are highly important for motivation yet perform poorly in different cigarette dependence groups. METHODS: The cross-sectional study was conducted from November 19 to December 9, 2023 in Guiyang City, China. Adult male current smokers were enrolled. Partial least squares structural equation modelling was used to test the hypothesis. The multi-group analysis was used to determine the moderating effect of cigarette dependence, and the importance-performance map analysis was utilised to assess the importance and performance of rationalisations. RESULTS: A total of 616 adult male current smokers were analysed, and they were divided into the low cigarette dependence group (n = 297) and the high cigarette dependence group (n = 319). Except for risk generalisation beliefs, smoking functional beliefs (H1: -ß = 0.131, P < 0.01), social acceptability beliefs (H3: ß = -0.258, P < 0.001), safe smoking beliefs (H4: ß = -0.078, P < 0.05), self-exempting beliefs (H5: ß = -0.244, P < 0.001), and quitting is harmful beliefs (H6: ß = -0.148, P < 0.01) all had a significant positive influence on motivation. Cigarette dependence moderated the correlation between rationalisations and motivation. In the high-dependence group, the social acceptability beliefs and smoking functional beliefs were located in the "Concentrate Here" area. In the low-dependence group, the social acceptability beliefs were also situated in there. CONCLUSIONS: Social acceptability beliefs and smoking functional beliefs showed great potential and value for improvement among high-dependence smokers, while only social acceptability beliefs had great potential and value for improvement among low-dependence smokers. Addressing these beliefs will be helpful for smoking cessation. The multi-group analysis and the importance-performance map analysis technique have practical implications and can be expanded to other domains of health education and intervention practice.

SOLAMEN syndrome is a rare, recently recognized congenital syndrome that is characterized by progressive and hypertrophic diseases involving multiple systems, including segmental overgrowth, lipomatosis, arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and epidermal nevus. According to literatures, SOLAMEN syndrome is caused by heterozygous PTEN mutation. Phenotypic overlap complicates the clinical identification of diseases associated with PTEN heterozygous mutations, making the diagnosis of SOLAMEN more challenging. In addition, SOLAMEN often presents with segmental tissue overgrowth and vascular malformations, increasing the possibility of misdiagnosis as klipple-trenaunay syndrome or Parks-Weber syndrome. Here, we present a case of a child presenting with macrocephaly, patchy lymphatic malformation on the right chest, marked subcutaneous varicosities and capillaries involving the whole body, overgrowth of the left lower limb, a liner epidermal nevus on the middle of the right lower limb, and a large AVM on the right cranial thoracic entrance. Based on the typical phenotypes, the child was diagnosed as SOLAMEN syndrome. detailed clinical, imaging and genetic diagnoses of SOLAMEN syndrome was rendered. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) data revealed that except for a germline PTEN mutation, a PDGFRB variant was also identified. A subsequent echocardiographic examination detected potential cardiac defects. We suggested that given the progressive nature of AVM and the potential severity of cardiac damage, regular echocardiographic evaluation, imaging follow-up and appropriate interventional therapy for AVM are recommended.

Ionizing radiation exposure can cause damage to diverse tissues and organs, with the hematopoietic system being the most sensitive. However, limited information is available regarding the radiosensitivity of various hematopoietic cell populations in the bone marrow due to the high heterogeneity of the hematopoietic system. In this study, we observed that granulocyte-macrophage progenitors, hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, and B cells within the bone marrow showed the highest sensitivity, exhibiting a rapid decrease in cell numbers following irradiation. Nonetheless, neutrophils, natural killer (NK) cells, T cells, and dendritic cells demonstrated a certain degree of radioresistance, with neutrophils exhibiting the most pronounced resistance. By employing single-cell transcriptome sequencing, we investigated the early responsive genes in various cell types following irradiation, revealing that distinct gene expression profiles emerged between radiosensitive and radioresistant cells. In B cells, radiation exposure led to a specific upregulation of genes associated with mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes, suggesting a connection between these complexes and cell radiosensitivity. In neutrophils, radiation exposure resulted in fewer gene alterations, indicating their potential for distinct mechanisms in radiation resistance. Collectively, this study provides insights into the molecular mechanism for the heterogeneity of radiosensitivity among the various bone marrow hematopoietic cell populations.

Significant variations in leaf colours, pigment contents, and main taste compounds in young shoots from albino tea plants (Camellia sinensis) influence tea flavour. However, the seasonal metabolic pattern and molecular regulatory mechanism of these metabolites remain largely elusive. Herein, we conducted morphological, biochemical, metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses between an albino tea cultivar 'Zhonghuang 3' ('ZH3') and a green strain 'Tai cha 15' ('TC15') at four-time points (April 12, May 31, July 14, and August 17) to elucidate dynamic changes in these compounds and predict the relationships among transcription factors (TFs), target genes (TGs), and metabolite abundance. Generally, leaf colours and pigment contents were significantly lighter and lower, respectively, in 'ZH3' than in 'TC15' from spring to summer, but were subsequently similar. Compared to 'TC15', 'ZH3' had a lower and broader phenol/ammonia ratio as well as stable caffeine content and showed more significantly different metabolites and differentially expressed genes. The relationship between pigments, main taste compounds, and their biosynthetic genes, as well as TFs and their TGs, had genetic specificity. These results suggested that the biosynthesis of these compounds was probably both season- and variety-dependent. In total, 12 models of the TF-TG-metabolite regulatory network were proposed to uncover the biosynthetic and regulatory mechanisms of these metabolites in tea plants. A high correlation was observed between some structural genes and TFs with the accumulation of these metabolites. These findings provide novel insights into the regulatory mechanisms underlying accumulation of pigments and main taste compounds in tea plants.

BACKGROUND: Congenital melanocytic naevi (CMN) are known to be associated with mosaic NRAS or BRAF variants. However, the exact correlations of the allele load of mosaic variants in CMN with phenotypic characteristics have not been determined. AIM: To determine the correlation of variants allele load and different phenotypes of CMN. METHODS: A panel of genes in the Ras/Raf/MAPK signalling pathway was selected for sequencing in 110 patients with CMN. Correlations between variant allele load and clinical phenotypes, including anatomical localization, projected adult size of the lesion, satellites, subcutaneous nodules, surface rugosity, colour variation and hypertrichosis, were analysed. RESULTS: In addition to the predominant NRAS p.Q61R/K (61.8%) and BRAF p.V600E variants (10%) in patients, we also detected additional variants of NRAS (p.G13R and p.M72fs), BRAF (p.D22N) and MAP2K1 (p.I107fs, p.F209fs, p.Q354H and p.G91_L92insHDQARRLVGDLEHHKPSG). Furthermore, a higher allele load of NRAS p.Q61R/K was found in the trunk and limbs of CMN. It was also found in CMN with larger size, higher colour variation and more significant hypertrichosis, surface rugosity and asymmetry. CONCLUSION: We discovered more genetic variants of NRAS, BRAF and MAP2K1 and established a correlation between the allele load of NRAS p.Q61R/K and various phenotypes in CMN. The findings of this study potentially facilitate a more accurate and comprehensive classification of CMN in addition to the phenotypic or pathological characteristics used in clinical practice.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the mechanism of the action of the miR-576/ALK4 axis on the progression of prostate cancer (PCa). METHODS: PCa cells were transfected with miR-576 mimics/inhibitor, the proliferation and migration distance of the cells were detected by MTT and scratch wound healing assay, respectively. The targeted regulation effect of miR-576 on ALK4 was verified by dual-luciferase reporter assay. The effects of miR-576 on the mRNA and protein expressions and phosphorylation levels of the ALK4 and JAK/STAT signaling pathway factors JAK2 and STAT3 were determined by qPCR and Western blot, respectively. The C4-2 cells were co-treated with sh-ALK4 and Ruxolitinib for measurement of the proliferation and migration of the PCa cells. RESULTS: Bioinformatics analysis and binding site prediction showed that miR-576 was up-regulated in the PCa cells, and dual-luciferase reporter assay revealed its targeted regulation effect on ALK4 and its impact on the phosphorylation levels of JAK2 and STAT3. Overexpressed miR-576 promoted while knocked-down miR-576 inhibited the proliferation and migration of the PCa cells. sh-ALK4 increased the proliferation and migration of the cells, while Ruxolitinib suppressed the promoting effect of sh-ALK4. CONCLUSION: The expression of miR-576 is up-regulated in PCa, inhibits the expression of ALK4, regulates the activity of the JAK and STAT signaling pathways, and promotes the proliferation and migration of PCa cells.

In this paper, we propose chaotic compressive sensing (CS) encryption algorithms for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing passive optical network (OFDM-PON), aiming at compressing the transmitted data and enhancing the security of data transmission. Bitstream transmission using CS directly is restricted due to its inability to satisfy the sparsity in neither time nor frequency domain. While the sparsity of the transmitted data can be constructed when transmitting the multimedia. A sensor can be then used to identify whether the data is multimedia. If it is, the CS technique is used, and the sensor's result is set as side information inserted into the pilot and transmitted to the terminal simultaneously. For encryption processing, a 2-dimensional logistic-sine-coupling map (2D-LSCM) is used to generate pseudo-random numbers to construct the first row of a measurement matrix to encrypt the system. Four transform formats are then applied to generate the sparsity of the transmitted data. Due to the restriction of data transmission in the physical layer, the discrete cosine transform (DCT) is chosen to conduct the CS technique. Four approximation algorithms are also proposed to optimize the performance of compressing the length of bits. We find that 'Round + Set negative to 0' shows the best performance. The combination of this chaotic CS encryption technique with the OFDM-PON systems saves the bandwidth and improves the security.

LEOPARD syndrome (OMIM #151,100) caused by a germline PTPN11 mutation are characterized as multisystemic anomalies and variable marked phenotypes such as multiple lentigines and cafe´-au-lait spots, electrocardiographic conduction abnormalities, ocular hypertelorism/obstructive cardiomyopathy, pulmonary stenosis, abnormal genitalia, retardation of growth, and deafness. Phenotype overlap complicates clinical discrimination within RASopathies, making the diagnosis of LEOPARD more confusing and challenging. Besides, LEOPARD patients do not usually present with all these typical clinical features, increasing the possibility of underdiagnosis or misdiagnosis.Herein, we report a case of LEOPARD syndrome in a patient who only presented with pigmented skin spots and was initially diagnosed with multiple acquired melanocytic nevi. Subsequent pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of multiple lentigines rather than melanocytic nevi. A genetic study showed a germline PTPN11 (Tyr279Cys) mutation and raised the suspicion of LEOPARD syndrome. A subsequent ECG examination detected potential cardiac defects and confirmed the diagnosis of LEOPARD. We considered that the potential damage of other systems underlying the skin multiple lentigines should not be ignored. The diagnosis of LEOPARD syndrome in an early stage before cardiac damage has reached a serious and irreversible stage can be meaningful for patients to fully understand the potential risks, complications and prognosis of the disease and to take appropriate precautions to prevent the potential risk of cardiac damage.

Spinal instrumented rod migrating from the surgical site to another remote site in the body is rare. Some cases result in organ or blood vessel injury. Most reported cases were asymptomatic until the finally injuries were generated. We report a unique case of spinal implant failure in which the rod moved from lumbar spine into chest 13 years post lumbar instrumentation. The migrated rod caused no damage to the organs in the pleural cavity but did cause an atypical pleural irritation syndrome which seemed to correlate with the mechanical irritation caused by the rod. These atypical symptoms of rod migration have not been reported previously.

Stem cell therapy represents the potential alternative effective strategy for some diseases that lack effective treatment currently. Correspondingly, it is crucial to establish high-sensitive and reliable quantification assay for tracing exogenous cell migration. In the present study, we first used both bioluminescence imaging (BLI) indirect labeling (human norepinephrine transporter-luciferase reporter system) and 89zirconium (89Zr)-hNSCs direct labeling combined with positron emission tomography/computer tomography (PET/CT) system for tracking human neural stem cells (hNSCs) migration into the brain via nasal administration in preclinical study. But the above two methods failed to give the biodistribution profile due to their low sensitivity. Considering its superior sensitivity and absolute quantitation capability, we developed and validated the droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) targeting species-specific gene in frozen and paraffin sections, slices, and whole blood with the sensitivity of 100-200 hNSCs. Accurate and high throughput quantification could be performed using ddPCR with the coefficient of variation (CVs) of lower quality control (LQC) below 30%. In combination with immunohistochemistry and ddPCR, we confirmed the migration of hNSCs into the brain via nasal administration, which supported the efficacy of hNSCs in MPTP-treated mice, an animal model of Parkinson's disease. In conclusion, the present study is the first to report the application of ddPCR in the pharmacokinetics profile description of tracking of hNSCs in preclinical studies.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the survival and the predictors of mortality in patients with severe cervical spinal cord injuries (CSCI). DESIGN: Retrospective study. PARTICIPANTS: From January 1, 2010, to May 31, 2018, patients who suffered from severe CSCIs in Western China were enrolled in this study (N=222). INTERVENTIONS: Not applicable. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Survival rates and mortality risk factors. Measures were calculated by the product-limit method (Kaplan-Meier) and the Cox model. RESULTS: The overall 1-year, 3-year, 5-year, and 8-year postoperative mortalities were 24.4%, 30.6%, 33.3%, 36.2%, and 39.0%, respectively. Most deaths occurred within 36 months after the injury. According to the Cox proportional hazards model, the significant predictors of survival were as follows: (1) age; (2) neurologic level; (3) treatment options (surgical or conservative); (4) ventilator support (P<.05). The 8-year mortality for older patients (>50y) was 50.2%, which was significantly higher than that for younger patients (32.4%, <50y). The risk of death was 2.053 times higher in higher levels of injury (C1-C4) than in lower levels of injury (C5-C8) (P<.05). Compared with conservative treatment, patients who received surgical treatment (either anterior or posterior decompression) had a lower risk of death (P<.05). No significant difference was detected in the risk of death between early surgery (<3d) and mid-term surgery (3-7d) (P>.05). However, patients who received late-term surgery (>7d) had a higher mortality risk (P<.05). The overall 8-year mortality risk of patients who needed ventilator support was much higher than those who did not need ventilator support (P<.05). CONCLUSIONS: Age, neurologic level, ventilator dependence, treatment options, and timing to surgery were main risk factors for mortality in patients with severe CSCIs. Better understanding of the predictors for survival could possibly contribute to the improvement of survival rates.

OBJECTIVE: To improve the method of vermillion flap and orbicularis oris bundle anastomosis in repair of transverse facial cleft. METHODS: Based on the precise fixed point, the modified vermillion flap was designed slender at the new corner of the upper lip, and was inserted into the lower lip after removing part tissue. The orbicularis oris was divided into two bands and cross-stitched. RESULTS: Fifteen patients with unilateral transverse facial cleft form the Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University during September 2016 and December 2018 were operated, and the position and shape of the commissure were almost normal. CONCLUSIONS: The cosmetic effect and oral function are satisfactory when the modified vermillion flap and bundle anastomosis of orbicularis oris is used to repair transverse facial cleft.

OBJECTIVE: Porcine endogenous retroviruses (PERV) involved in pig to human xenotransplantation have raised great concerns because of their ubiquitous nature in pigs and their ability of infecting human cells in vitro. Although no significant cytopathic effect attributed to PERV was evident on PERV-infected human embryonic kidney 293 (HEK293) cells, we did proteomic analysis to investigate the differences of protein profile in order to further characterize the effect of PERV infection. METHODS: HEK293 cells were cocultured with porcine peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Protein profiles of PERV-infected and -noninfected HEK293 cells were analyzed by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE). Protein spots with at least 1.5-fold alteration were identified by high-definition mass spectrometry (HDMS) analysis. Then real-time RT-PCR and Western blotting were performed to validate the proteomic results. RESULTS: Differential analysis of PERV-infected and -noninfected HEK293 cells by 2-DE revealed ten differentially regulated proteins. The proteins identified by HDMS were involved in various cellular pathways including signal transduction, cell apoptosis, and protein synthesis. CONCLUSION: The results of this study revealed differentially expressed proteins in HEK293 cells cocultured with porcine PBMCs and implied that these changes were probably induced by PERV infection. These results provide clues and potential links to understanding the molecular effect of the infection by human-tropic PERV.

α1-Antitrypsin (AAT) is widely used to treat patients with congenital AAT deficiency. Cohn Fraction IV (Cohn F IV) is normally discarded during the manufacturing process of albumin but contains approximately 33% of plasma AAT. We established a new process for large-scale purification of AAT from it. liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry and high-performance liquid chromatography were applied for qualitative identification and composition analysis, respectively. Stabilizers were optimized for AAT activity protection during lyophilization and dry-heat. Virus inactivation by dry-heat and solvent/detergent (S/D) was validated on a range of viruses. AAT with purity of 95.54%, specific activity of 3,938.5 IU/mg, and yield of 26.79%, was achieved. More than 95% activity was reserved after S/D. More than 96% activity was obtained after lyophilization or dry-heat. After S/D, pseudorabies virus (PRV) and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) were inactivated below detectable level within 1 H. Virus titer reductions of more than 5.50 log10 and 5.38 log10 were achieved for PRV and VSV, respectively. Porcine parvovirus and encephalomyocarditis virus were inactivated by 3.17 log10 and 5.88 log10 reduction after dry-heat. The advantages of this process, including suitability for large-scale production, high purity, better utilization of human plasma, viral safety, commercial and inexpensive chromatography medium, may facilitate its further application.

BACKGROUND: In the Stenting and Aggressive Medical Management for Preventing Recurrent Stroke in Intracranial Stenosis (SAMMPRIS) trial, 19.1% of ischemic strokes occurred out of the territory of previously symptomatic stenosis during the mean follow-up period of 23.4 months. However, it is unknown how many ischemic strokes were due to a previously asymptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS). The objective of this study was to investigate whether the concomitant asymptomatic ICAS influences the outcome of patients undergoing symptomatic ICAS stenting. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed 576 consecutive patients with nondisabling ischemic stroke (modified Rankin scale score of ≤3) who were treated with symptomatic ICAS (≥70% stenosis) stenting with or without concomitant asymptomatic ICAS. The baseline characteristics and the 30-day primary end points (stroke or death after stenting) were compared by bivariate and multivariable logistic analyses. RESULTS: The 30-day rate of primary end points was 5.2%, which was higher in patients with concomitant asymptomatic ICAS (≥50% stenosis) than in those without asymptomatic ICAS (no stenosis or <50% stenosis) (8.9% versus 3.8%, P = .014). In patients with concomitant asymptomatic ICAS, 25% of ischemic strokes occurred out of the territory of the stented artery, whereas in patients without asymptomatic ICAS, no ischemic stroke occurred out of the territory of the stented artery. Multivariable analysis showed that concomitant asymptomatic ICAS was an independent risk factor for 30-day stroke (odds ratio = 2.37, 95% confidence interval, 1.14-5.63; P = .023). CONCLUSIONS: Concomitant asymptomatic ICAS (≥50% stenosis) might increase the 30-day risk of stroke in patients undergoing symptomatic ICAS stenting.

Functional nanoparticles encapsulated within metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as an emerging class of composite materials attract increasing attention owing to their enhanced or even novel properties caused by the synergistic effect between the two functional materials. However, there is still no ideal composite structure as platform to systematically analyze and evaluate the relation between the enhanced catalytic performance of composites and the structure of MOF shells. In this work, taking RhCoNi ternary alloy nanoflowers, for example, first the RhCoNi@MOF composite catalysts sheathed with different structured MOFs via a facile self-sacrificing template process are successfully fabricated. The structure type of MOF shells is easily adjustable by using different organic molecules as etchant and coordination reagent (e.g., 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalic acid or 2-methylimidazole), which can dissolve out the Co or Ni element in the alloy template in a targeted manner, thereby producing ZIF-67(Co) or MOF-74(Ni) shells accordingly. With the difference between the two MOF shells in the aperture sizes, the as-prepared two RhCoNi@MOF composites preform distinct size selectivity during the alkene hydrogenation. This work would help us to get more comprehensive understanding of the intrinsic role of MOFs behind the enhanced catalytic performance of nanoparticle@MOF composites.

Surface control of large-aperture transmission optics in both on-line working, and off-line testing, states is perceived as one of the most important requirements, and the largest engineering challenge, in high-power solid-state laser facilities. Consequently, a surface control apparatus and method was proposed based on the self-flexible force-moment technology and principle of load linearity, respectively. A series of analyses were conducted using the proposed apparatus and method both mechanically and numerically. Furthermore, the principle of phase mismatch induced by distortion and second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency was analysed theoretically. Finally, the trends of the surface RMS value and efficiency under different load regimes on certain loading states were deduced, and the trends in the best surface RMS value and efficiency of each loading state were analysed.

With the recent research advances in molecular biology and technology, multiple credible hypotheses about the progress of Alzheimer's disease (AD) have been proposed; multi-target drugs have emerged as an innovative therapeutic approach for AD. Current clinical therapy for AD patients is mainly palliative treatment targeting acetylcholinesterase (AChE). Inhibition of phosphodiesterase 5A (PDE5A) has recently been validated as a potentially novel therapeutic approach for Alzheimer's disease (AD). In this work, series of new compounds were designed, synthesized and evaluated as dual cholinesterase and PDE5A inhibitor. Biological results revealed that some of these compounds display good biological activities against AChE with IC50 values about 44.67-169.80nM (donepezil IC50 50.12nM). Notably, compound 12 presented potent activities against PDE5A with IC50 values about 50µM (sildenafil IC50 12.59µM), and some of these compounds showed low cell toxicity to A549 cells in vitro.
