RESUMO

We present an encoding scheme of a single logical qubit with single-sided quantum dot (QD)-cavity systems, which is immune to the collective decoherence. By adjusting the Purcell factor to satisfy the balanced reflection condition, the detrimental effects of unbalanced reflection between the coupled and uncoupled QD-cavity systems can be effectively suppressed. Furthermore, the fidelity of each step can be increased to unity regardless of the strong coupling regime and the weak coupling regime of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) with the assistance of waveform correctors. The scheme requires QD-cavity systems and simple linear optical elements, which can be implemented with the currently experimental techniques.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Patients with spinal cord injury have a relatively high risk for bladder cancer and often complicated with bladder cancer in advanced stages, and the degree of aggressiveness of malignancy is high. Most of the literature is based on disease clinical features while, our study reviews the clinical characteristics and molecular mechanisms of spinal cord injury patients with bladder cancer, so that it might help clinicians better recognize and manage these patients. METHOD: We searched PubMed, Web of Science and Embase, using retrieval type like ("Neurogenic Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction" OR "Spinal cord injury" OR "Spinal Cord Trauma") AND ("bladder cancer" OR "bladder neoplasm" OR "bladder carcinoma" OR "Urinary Bladder Neoplasms" OR "Bladder Tumor"). In Web of Science, the retrieval type was searched as "Topic", and in PubMed and Embase, as "All Field". The methodological quality of eligible studies and their risk of bias were assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale. This article is registered in PROSPERO with the CBD number: CRD42024508514. RESULT: In WOS, we searched 219 related papers, in PubMed, 122 and in Embase, 363. Thus, a total of 254 articles were included after passing the screening, within a time range between 1960 and 2023. A comprehensive analysis of the data showed that the mortality and incidence rates of bladder cancer in spinal cord injury patients were higher than that of the general population, and the most frequent pathological type was squamous cell carcinoma. In parallel to long-term urinary tract infection and indwelling catheterization, the role of molecules such as NO, MiR 1949 and Rb 1. was found to be crucial pathogenetically. CONCLUSION: This review highlights the risk of bladder cancer in SCI patients, comprehensively addressing the clinical characteristics and related molecular mechanisms. However, given that there are few studies on the molecular mechanisms of bladder cancer in spinal cord injury, further research is needed to expand the understanding of the disease.

RESUMO

Vegetation restoration is an important requirement for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. In-depth understanding the temporal and spatial differentiation of vegetation has important practical significance. With the four Landsat TM/OLI remote sensing images as the data source, the pixel binary model was used to estimate vegetation coverage. The transfer matrix, geological information map, and the center of gravity migration model were used to analyze the temporal and spatial variations of vegetation coverage in Yan'an City in the middle of the Yellow River Basin from 1988 to 2018. The spatial variation of vegetation cover to elevation and slope was explored using terrain distribution index combined with terrain data. The results showed that vegetation coverage in Yan'an was low in the north region and high in the south region. The vegetation coverage increased significantly due to policy changes. From 1988 to 2018, the vegetation change pattern in Yan'an was dominated by continuous improvement and stability. Vegetation coverage increased in about 50% of the area. 83% of the study area with high vegetation coverage remained stable. At each elevation and slope level, the advantage of high vegetation cove-rage increased with time. At each slope level, vegetation cover increased with slope. The transition direction of vegetation cover of different levels in Yan'an was basically consistent with the overall spatial change trend of vegetation cover, with the overall shift being from north to west. The vegetation construction in Yan'an has achieved remarkable results, though the vegetation coverage in the north still needs to be improved. Optimizing vegetation types and structures is an important direction for future vegetation construction.

RESUMO

Adsorption characteristics of Cd2+ on the three biochars modified by pyrolysis and calcination were investigated that were derived from rice straw (TRSB), chicken manure (TCMB) and sewage sludge (TSSB). The pH effect, adsorption kinetics, isotherms and thermodynamics, and desorption were determined, and qualitative analysis of adsorption mechanisms was performed by SEM, XRD, FTIR and XPS. Maximum adsorption capacities reached 177.28, 96.03 and 74.04 mg/g for TCMB, TRSB and TSSB, respectively, which were higher than that of many previously reported biochars. Even after five adsorption-desorption cycles, TCMB showed the strongest reusability without losing significantly adsorption capacity. This suggested that thermally modified biochars, particularly TCMB, could be a preferred adsorbent for Cd2+. Relative distribution of adsorption mechanisms was examined by direct and indirect calculation, in which the precipitation and cation-exchange dominated the whole chemisorption process, jointly accounting for 84% (TRSB) to 95% (TCMB) of total adsorption. While the complexation was of minor importance in total adsorption accounting for 5%-16%. The relationship of each mechanism with the properties of biochar was also discussed. These provided new insights on the adsorption effectiveness and mechanisms for Cd2+ in the aqueous solution that was critical for evaluating the application of modified biochars.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the bacteriostasis of iodoform in vivo and in vitro. METHODS: Bacteriostasis of iodoform and economycin against different species of bacteria was observed in vitro and the curves of bacteriostasis were obtained for each agent. In rabbit models traumatic liver injury complicated by infection of the wounds with Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aerudomonas, common bandage supplemented respectively with 6% iodoform, 10% iodoform, economycin ointment, and saline were applied for wound addressing and the changes in the number of bacterium in the wounds was measured 1, 3, and 7 days later, respectively. RESULTS: Iodoform showed better bacteriostatic effect than economycin in inhibiting the growth of the majority of the aerobic bacteria in vitro, and its action on anaerobic bacteria appeared similar to the effect of economycin. In rabbit models, iodoform at the concentration of 10% showed significantly better bacteriostatic effect against the 3 species of bacteria than economycin (P<0.01). CONCLUSION: Iodoform possesses more potent bacteriostatic effect than economycin against most bacteria.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To study the changes of cardiac function following treatment with granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) in patients with heart failure after myocardial infarction. METHODS: Thirty-eight patients with heart failure after myocardial infarction were randomized into G-CSF treatment group and control group. All the patients received conventional treatment (medication and interventional therapy), and the patients in treatment group were given additional G-CSF (600 µg/day) for 7 consecutive days. The plasma level of brain-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and the number of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) in the peripheral blood were detected before and at 7 days and 4 months after the treatment. The cardiac functions (LVSD, EDV, and LVEF) were evaluated by ultrasonic imaging before and at 2 weeks and 4 months after the treatment. RESULTS: The number of EPCs was significantly higher in the treatment group than in the control group after the treatment especially at 7 days (P<0.01). In both groups, BNP level was lowered significantly after the treatment to recover the normal level (P<0.01). The cardiac functions were improved in all the patients at 7 days and 4 months after the treatment, and the improvement was more obvious in the treatment group (P<0.05), especially in terms of LVEF at 4 months after the treatment (P<0.01). CONCLUSION: EPC mobilization by G-CSF can effectively improve the cardiac functions and lessen ventricular remodeling in patients with heart failure after myocardial infarction.
