RESUMO

Gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR), overexpressed in many solid tumors, is a promising imaging marker and therapeutic target. Most reported GRPR-targeted radioligands contain a C-terminal amide. Based on the reported potent antagonist D-Phe-Gln-Trp-Ala-Val-Gly-His-Leu-NHOH, we synthesized C-terminal hydroxamate-derived [68Ga]Ga-LW02075 ([68Ga]Ga-DOTA-pABzA-DIG-D-Phe-Gln-Trp-Ala-Val-Gly-His-Leu-NHOH) and [68Ga]Ga-LW02050 ([68Ga]Ga-DOTA-Pip-D-Phe-Gln-Trp-Ala-Val-Gly-His-Leu-NHOH), and compared them with the closely related and clinically validated [68Ga]Ga-SB3 ([68Ga]Ga-DOTA-pABzA-DIG-D-Phe-Gln-Trp-Ala-Val-Gly-His-Leu-NHEt). Binding affinities (Ki) of Ga-SB3, Ga-LW02075, and Ga-LW02050 were 1.20 ± 0.31, 1.39 ± 0.54, and 8.53 ± 1.52 nM, respectively. Both Ga-LW02075 and Ga-LW02050 were confirmed to be GRPR antagonists by calcium release assay. Imaging studies showed that PC-3 prostate cancer tumor xenografts were clearly visualized at 1 h post injection by [68Ga]Ga-SB3 and [68Ga]Ga-LW02050 in PET images, but not by [68Ga]Ga-LW02075. Ex vivo biodistribution studies conducted at 1 h post injection showed that the tumor uptake of [68Ga]Ga-LW02050 was comparable to that of [68Ga]Ga-SB3 (5.38 ± 1.00 vs. 6.98 ± 1.36 %ID/g), followed by [68Ga]Ga-LW02075 (3.97 ± 1.71 %ID/g). [68Ga]Ga-SB3 had the highest pancreas uptake (37.3 ± 6.90 %ID/g) followed by [68Ga]Ga-LW02075 (17.8 ± 5.24 %ID/g), while the pancreas uptake of [68Ga]Ga-LW02050 was only 0.53 ± 0.11 %ID/g. Our data suggest that [68Ga]Ga-LW02050 is a promising PET tracer for detecting GRPR-expressing cancer lesions.

RESUMO

Multi-excitonic emitting materials in luminescent metal halides are emerging candidates for anti-counterfeiting and information encryption applications. Herein, ATPP2SnCl6 (ATPP=acetonyltriphenylphosphonium) phase was designed and synthesized by rationally choosing emissive organic reagent of ATPPCl and non-toxic stable metal ions of Sn4+, and Sb3+ was further doped into ATPP2SnCl6 to tune the photoluminescence with external self-trapped excitons emission. The derived non-toxic ATPP2SnCl6 shows multi-excitonic luminescent centers verified by optical study and differential charge-density from density functional theory calculations. Incorporation of Sb3+ dopants and the increasing concentrations induce the efficient energy transfer therein, thus enhancing photoluminescence quantum yield from 5.1 % to 73.8 %. The multi-excitonic emission inspires the creation of information encryption and decryption by leveraging the photoluminescence from ATPPCl to ATPP2SnCl6 host and ATPP2SnCl6 : Sb3+. This study facilitates the anti-counterfeiting application by employing solution-processable luminescent metal halides materials with excitation-dependent PL properties.

RESUMO

Low dimensional organic-inorganic hybrid metal halide materials have attracted extensive attention due to their superior optoelectronic properties. However, low photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) caused by parity-forbidden transition hinder their further application in optoelectronic devices. Herein, a novel yellow-emitting PMA4Na(In,Sb)Cl8 (C7H10N+, PMA+) low-dimensional OIMHs single crystal with a PLQY as high as 88% was successfully designed and synthesized, originating from the fact that the doping of Sb3+ effectively relaxes the parity-forbidden transition by strong spin-orbit (SO) coupling and Jahn-Teller (JT) interaction. The as-prepared crystal shows an efficient dual emission peaking 495 and 560 nm at low temperature, which are ascribed to different levels of 3P1 → 1S0 transitions of Sb3+ in [SbCl6]3- octahedral caused by JT deformation. Moreover, wide-range luminescence tailoring from cyan to orange can be achieved through adjusting excitation energy and temperature because of flexible [SbCl6]3- octahedral in the PNIC lattice. Based on a relative stiff lattice environment, the 560 nm yellow emission under 350 nm light excitation exhibits abnormal anti-thermal quenching from 8 to 400 K owing to the suppression of non-radiative transition. The multimode luminescence regulation enriches PMA4Na(In,Sb)Cl8 great potential in the field of optoelectronics such as temperature sensing,  low temperature anti-counterfeiting and WLED applications.

RESUMO

The rapid development of solid-state lighting technology has attracted much attention for searching efficient and stable luminescent materials, especially the single-component white-light emitter. Here, we adopt a facile ion-doping technology to synthesize vacancy-ordered double perovskite Cs2ZrCl6:Sb. The introduction of Sb3+ ions with a 5s2 active lone pair into Cs2ZrCl6 host stimulates the singlet (blue) and triplet (orange) states emission of Sb3+ ions, and their relative emission intensity can be tuned through the energy transfer from singlet to triplet states. Benefiting from the dual-band emission as a pair of perfect complementary colors, the optimum Cs2ZrCl6:1.5%Sb exhibits a high-quality white emission with a color-rendering index of 96. By employing Cs2ZrCl6:1.5%Sb as the down-conversion phosphor, stable single-component white light-emitting diodes with a record half-lifetime of 2003 h were further fabricated. This study puts forward an effective ion-doping strategy to design single-component white-light emitter, making practical applications of them in lighting technologies a real possibility.

RESUMO

Purpose. To overcome the insufficiency of conventional photodynamic therapy (PDT) for treating metastatic melanoma, the combination of smart nanoparticles and PDT with immunotherapy was used to achieve a higher efficiency by accumulating more photosensitizers in tumor areas and triggering stronger immune responses against tumors after PDT.Methods. In this study, we designed a nanoliposome co-encapsulation of chlorin E6 (Ce6) and SB-3CT to realize significant antitumoral proliferation and metastasis efficacy after laser irradiation in A375 cells. The morphology, size distribution, and loading efficiency of Ce6-SB3CT@Liposome (Lip-SC) were characterized. The reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and cytotoxicity were evaluated in A375 cells, and the mechanisms of natural killer (NK) cell-mediated killing were assessed.Results. Lip-SC showed good stability and was well-dispersed with a diameter of approximately 140 nm in phosphate-buffered saline. The nanoliposomes could accumulate in tumor areas and induce apoptosis in cancer cells upon 660 nm light irradiation, which could trigger an immune response and induce the expression of NK group 2 member D (NKG2D) ligands. The subsequently released SB-3CT could further activate NK cells effectively and strengthen the immune system by inhibiting the shedding of soluble NKG2D ligands.Discussion. Taken together, the synergistic effects of SB-3CT on nanoliposomes for Ce6-mediated PDT were analyzed in detail to provide a new platform for future anti-melanoma treatment.

RESUMO

Biosimilars are biologic products that are highly similar to, and have no clinically meaningful differences from, the approved originator molecule. They are poised to play an increasingly central role in cancer treatment, helping to improve access by driving down costs. Regulatory bodies have set out robust mechanisms for the approval of biosimilars, based on comprehensive and rigorous analytical and nonclinical comparisons with the originator. Product attributes (e.g., post-translational modifications) that are important to the function of the molecule must be similar between biosimilar and originator. This should be followed by a robust clinical development program, assessing pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, efficacy, safety and immunogenicity. Equivalence in one indication might allow extrapolation across all the indications of the originator biologic. The recent approval of several trastuzumab biosimilars provides an example of how this process can work in practice for the benefit of patients, clinicians and payers.

RESUMO

Tuberculous meningitis (TBM) is an outcome of neuroinflammatory degeneration caused due to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and leads to death or neurological disabilities in the affected individuals. It causes the highest morbidity and mortality amongst all forms of tuberculosis. Matrix metalloproteinase-9 levels increase and cause inflammatory destruction during progression of the disease. Although corticosteroids are usually given as an adjuvant therapy to overcome these complications, treatment outcome is contradictory. This study was designed to evaluate whether specific inhibition of MMP-9 can be beneficial in management of the disease. MMP-9 levels were inhibited using SB-3CT or dexamethasone along with conventional drugs for treatment of tuberculous meningitis. Both SB-3CT and dexamethasone decreased the elevated levels of MMP-9 in sera and tissues of the infected mice. However, dexamethasone administration had an inhibitory effect on bacillary clearance, while SB-3CT potentiated the bacillary clearance, suggesting that MMP-9, if specifically inhibited, can be beneficial in the management of TBM.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: TBM (Tuberculous meningitis) is severe form of tuberculosis causing death of one third of the affected individuals or leaving two-third of the survivors disabled. MMP-9 (Matrix metalloproteinase-9) is produced by the central nervous system in a variety of inflammatory conditions and has a role in the breakdown of extracellular matrix and blood-brain barrier. METHODS: In this study, the levels of MMP-9 and its inhibitor, TIMP-1 (tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-1), were screened using zymography and reverse zymography in cerebrospinal fluid and serum of tuberculous meningitis patients at different stages of the disease. Further, role of MMP-9 as therapeutic target was studied in C6 glioma cells infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv. Cells were treated with dexamethasone or SB-3CT (specific inhibitor of MMP-9) in combination with conventional antitubercular drugs. RESULTS: MMP-9 levels in patients were increased as the disease progressed to advanced stages. The infection led to increased MMP-9 levels in C6 glioma cells and specific inhibition of MMP-9 by SB-3CT augmented bacillary clearance when used along with antitubercular drugs. CONCLUSION: MMP-9 plays a prominent role in progression of tuberculous meningitis from initial to advanced stages. Increased levels of MMP-9 during advancement of the disease leads to degeneration of nervous tissue and blood brain barrier disruption. Hence, MMP-9 can be considered as a therapeutic target for efficient management of TBM and can be explored to inhibit further progression of the disease if used at an early stage.

RESUMO

In rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, understanding the atomic-scale mechanism of Li-induced structural evolution occurring at the host electrode materials provides essential knowledge for design of new high performance electrodes. Here, we report a new crystalline-crystalline phase transition mechanism in single-crystal Zn-Sb intermetallic nanowires upon lithiation. Using in situ transmission electron microscopy, we observed that stacks of atomic planes in an intermediate hexagonal (h-)LiZnSb phase are "shuffled" to accommodate the geometrical confinement stress arising from lamellar nanodomains intercalated by lithium ions. Such atomic rearrangement arises from the anisotropic lithium diffusion and is accompanied by appearance of partial dislocations. This transient structure mediates further phase transition from h-LiZnSb to cubic (c-)Li2ZnSb, which is associated with a nearly "zero-strain" coherent interface viewed along the [001]h/[111]c directions. This study provides new mechanistic insights into complex electrochemically driven crystalline-crystalline phase transitions in lithium-ion battery electrodes and represents a noble example of atomic-level structural and interfacial rearrangements.

RESUMO

Detecting heavy metal copper ions in lubricating oil holds immense significance for assessing mechanical wear and predicting mechanical failure. While perovskite nanocrystals offer high sensitivity in detecting copper ions, traditional lead halide perovskites suffer from lead toxicity defects. Lead-free perovskites, like Cs2NaInCl6, avoid the issue of lead toxicity but display lower luminescence intensity due to the presence of forbidden optical transitions. To address these issues, this study synthesized Cs2NaInCl6 nanocrystals (NCs) co-doped with Sb3+ and Tb3+ ions for copper ions detection in lubricating oil. The introduction of Sb3+ effectively reduced the band gap of the Cs2NaInCl6 host, creating an energy transfer pathway for Tb3+ emission via self-trapped excitations (STEs). Moreover, the doping of Tb3+ ions resulted in the suppression of STEs emission due to electron transfer from STEs to Tb3+. The emission of Tb3+ increased initially and then decreased with the increasing Tb3+ concentration, peaking at 40 %. Finally, Cs2NaInCl6: 2.5 %Sb3+, 40 %Tb3+ NCs were employed as probes for copper ions detection, exhibiting superior sensitivity and selectivity compared to similar probes. The presence of copper ions introduced competition between copper and Tb3+ for electrons from STEs, consequently leading to the quenching of multiple emission intensities associated with STEs and Tb3+. This method shows promising potential in predicting mechanical failure.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: SerpinB3 is a cysteine protease inhibitor involved in liver disease progression due to its proinflammatory and profibrogenic properties. The polymorphic variant SerpinB3-PD (SB3-PD), presents a substitution in its reactive centre loop, determining the gain of function. AIMS: To disclose the clinical characteristics of a cohort of patients with cirrhosis in relation to the presence of SB3-PD and to assess the effect of this genetic variant on fibrogenic and inflammatory cytokines in vitro. METHODS: We assessed SB3 polymorphism in 90 patients with cirrhosis, prospectively followed up in our referral centre. We used HepG2 and HuH-7 cells transfected to overexpress either wild-type SB3 (SB3-WT) or SB3-PD to assess their endogenous effect, while LX2 and THP-1 cells were treated with exogenous SB3-WT or SB3-PD proteins. RESULTS: Patients carrying SB3-PD had more severe portal hypertension and higher MELD scores, than patients carrying SB3-WT. In multivariate analysis, SB3-PD was an independent predictor of cirrhosis complications. Patients with SB3-PD polymorphism presented with more severe liver fibrosis and inflammatory features. Hepatoma cells overexpressing SB3-PD showed higher TGF-ß1 expression than controls. The addition of recombinant SB3-PD induced an up-regulation of TGF-ß1 in LX2 cells and a more prominent inflammatory profile in THP-1 cells, compared to the effect of SB3-WT protein. CONCLUSIONS: The polymorphic variant SB3-PD is highly effective in determining activation of TGF-ß1 and inflammation in vitro. Patients with cirrhosis who carry SB3-PD polymorphism may be more prone to develop severe liver disease progression. However, further validation studies are warranted to support the in vivo relevance of this polymorphism.

RESUMO

The host lattice environments of Sb3+ has a great influence on its photophysical properties. Here, we synthesized three zero-dimensional organic metal halides of (TPA)2SbCl5 (1), Sb3+-doped (TPA)SnCl5(H2O)·2H2O (Sb3+-2), and Sb3+-doped (TPA)2SnCl6 (Sb3+-3). Compared with the intense orange emission of 1, Sb3+-3 has smaller lattice distortion, thus effectively suppressing the exciton transformation from singlet to triplet self-trapped exciton (STE) states, which makes Sb3+-3 has stronger singlet STE emission and further bring a white emission with a photoluminescence quantum efficiency (PLQE) of 93.4%. Conversely, the non-emission can be observed in Sb3+-2 even though it has a similar [SbCl5]2- structure to 1, which should be due to its indirect bandgap characteristics and the effective non-radiative relaxation caused by H2O in the lattice. Interestingly, the non-emission of Sb3+-2 can convert into the bright emission of Sb3+-3 under TPACl DMF solution treatment. Meanwhile, the white emission under 315 nm excitation of Sb3+-3 can change into orange emission upon 365 nm irradiation, and the luminescence can be further quenched by the treatment of HCl. Therefore, a triple-mode reversible luminescence switch of off-onI-onII-off can be achieved. Finally, we demonstrated the applications of Sb3+-doped compounds in single-component white light illumination, latent fingerprint detection, fluorescent anti-counterfeiting, and information encryption.

RESUMO

With regards to the global continuous growth in consumption of base metals such as antimony (Sb), mining companies are currently looking to improve the productivity and extraction of Sb from low grade ore in order to economically process it. With this aim, in this study, an efficient protocol was developed to recover metallic Sb from the low grade Fe3Si2O5(OH)4. Sb3O6(OH). Sb2O3 ore of the Sefid-Abe mine in Zahedan province, Iran, utilizing selective acidic or alkaline leaching followed by Sb electrowinning. A process was developed to recover antimony from an Sb2O3 ore source, using selective acidic or alkaline leaching followed by antimony electrowinning. Sb could be leached with an efficiency of 85 % using 5 M NaOH and 87 % using 5 M hydrochloric acid/5 M sulfuric acid as the digestion solution at 80 °C for 8 h. The electrowinning process plays a significant role in recovery of highly pure Sb metal. Relying on this approach, a high deposition rate and current efficiency have been generated at a deposition potential 2 V at 30 °C (80 °C for alkaline medium). This was achieved by using anode electrode made of graphite and cathode electrode made of steel (two steel electrodes were used for alkaline electrowinning). Additionally, for acidic electrowinning, exploitation of Sb from the electrolyte solution was achieved by applying a current of 0.1 A, resulting in the highest yield equal to 89 %. On the other hand, for alkaline electrowinning, the highest efficiency corresponds to the current intensity of 0.5 A, which resulted in 97 % Sb extraction from the electrolyte solution. The XRD and ICP analysis performed for samples obtained from the electrolysis confirmed that the resulting antimony ingot has an exceptionally high purity.

RESUMO

The retinas of the vast majority of vertebrate species are termed "duplex," that is, they contain both rod and cone photoreceptor neurons in different ratios. The retina of little skate (Leucoraja erinacea) is a rarity among vertebrates because it contains only a single photoreceptor cell type and is thus "simplex." This unique retina provides us with an important comparative model and an exciting opportunity to study retinal circuitry within the context of a visual system with a single photoreceptor cell type. What is perhaps even more intriguing is the fact that the Leucoraja retina is able use that single photoreceptor cell type to function under both scotopic and photopic ranges of illumination. Although some ultrastructural characteristics of skate photoreceptors have been examined previously, leading to a general description of them as "rods" largely based on outer segment (OS) morphology and rhodopsin expression, a detailed study of the fine anatomy of the entire cell and its synaptic connectivity is still lacking. To address this gap in knowledge, we performed serial block-face electron microscopy imaging and examined the structure of skate photoreceptors and their postsynaptic partners. We find that skate photoreceptors exhibit unusual ultrastructural characteristics that are either common to rods or cones in other vertebrates (e.g., outer segment architecture, synaptic ribbon number, terminal extensions), or are somewhere in between those of a typical vertebrate rod or cone (e.g., number of invaginating contacts, clustering of multiple ribbons over a single synaptic invagination). We suggest that some of the ultrastructural characteristics we observe may play a role in the ability of the skate retina to function across scotopic and photopic ranges of illumination. Our findings have the potential to reveal as yet undescribed principles of vertebrate retinal design.

RESUMO

Metal halide perovskites have unparalleled optoelectronic properties and broad application potential and are expected to become the next epoch-making optoelectronic semiconductors. Although remarkable achievements have been achieved with lead halide perovskites, the toxicity of lead inhibits the development of such materials. Recently, Sb3+-activated luminescent metal halide perovskite materials with low toxicity, high efficiency, broadband, large Stokes shift, and emission wavelengths covering the entire visible and near-infrared regions have been considered one of the most likely luminescent materials to replace lead halide perovskites. This review reviews the synthesis, luminescence mechanism, structure, and luminescence properties of the compounds. The basic luminescence properties of Sb3+-activated luminescent metal halide perovskites and their applications in WLED, electroluminescence LED, temperature sensing, optical anti-counterfeiting, and X-ray scintillators are introduced. Finally, the development prospects and challenges of Sb3+-activated luminescent metal halide perovskites are discussed.

RESUMO

Zinc antimonides, particularly the ß-Zn4Sb3 compound, act as prototypes in the early phases of thermoelectric generator (TEG) development. However, their potential applications are constrained by structural instability at elevated temperatures. In this study, introducing a low concentration of aluminum (Al) achieves a highly stable Al-Zn4Sb3, exhibiting an improved peak zT value compared to undoped Zn4Sb3. Notably, a single-leg device utilizing a fully dense Al0.01Zn3.99Sb3 demonstrates an impressive conversion efficiency (η) of 3% even at a temperature difference (ΔT) of 225 K. This result represents an approximately 200% increase compared with the pristine one. The combination of dilute cationic doping and phase diagram engineering solidifies the potential of Zn4Sb3 as an efficient and sustainable green energy device.

RESUMO

Lead-free metal halide perovskites have attracted attention because of their excellent optical properties and nontoxicity. Here, we report the synthesis of Sb3+-doped indium halide perovskite Cs2InCl5·H2O:Sb3+ by an improved solution coprecipitation method. The treatment of the Sb3+-doped indium halide perovskite with selected monovalent cation halides led to Cs2MInCl6 (Ag+, K+, Na+) in different crystal structures or phases. Sb3+ has an isolated ns2 electron, and Sb3+-doped metal halide acts as the luminescence center and exhibits bright broadband emission that originated from self-trapped excitons. Under UV light excitation, these phosphors with different crystal structures emitted multicolored luminescence ranging from blue, green, yellow, and red depending on whether or not or which monovalent metal ion was used. The phosphor samples were used to print high-resolution 2D color barcodes for security and anticounterfeiting applications. The study presented here provides a new approach for the design and synthesis of lead-free metal halide perovskites with different crystal structures and unique optical properties.

RESUMO

Binary Zn-Sb-based compounds, ZnSb and Zn4Sb3, are promising thermoelectric (TE) materials because they are low-cost and earth-abundant. However, for a long time, their real applications have been limited by the low TE figure-of-merit (zT) of ZnSb and poor thermodynamic stability of Zn4Sb3. In this study, we successfully integrate both high zT and good stability in (Ag, Cd)-containing ZnSb compounds. Alloying Cd in ZnSb greatly suppresses the lattice thermal conductivity to a minimum value of 0.97 W K-1 m-1 at 300 K, while doping Ag significantly enhances the power factor to a peak value of 17.7 µW cm-1 K-2 at 500 K and reduces the bipolar thermal conductivity. As a result of the simultaneously optimized electrical and thermal transport, a peak zT of 1.2 is achieved for Zn0.698Ag0.002Cd0.3Sb at 600 K, which is comparable with the best values reported for Zn4Sb3-based compounds. Moreover, a current stress test confirms that introducing Ag and Cd does not degrade the good stability of ZnSb under an electric field. The phase composition and thermoelectric performance of Zn0.698Ag0.002Cd0.3Sb are not changed even under a high current density of 50 A cm-2, showing much better stability than Zn4Sb3. This study would accelerate the real application of ZnSb-based compounds in the field of waste heat harvesting.

RESUMO

Developing high-performance electrocatalysts for the ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR) and the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is essential for the commercialization of direct ethanol fuel cells, but it is still formidably challenging. In this work, a novel Pd-Sb hexagonal nanoplate for boosting both cathodic and anodic fuel cell reactions is prepared. Detailed characterizations reveal that the nanoplates have ordered rhombohedral phase of Pd8 Sb3 (denoted as Pd8 Sb3 HPs). The Pd8 Sb3 HPs exhibit much enhanced activity toward the oxidation of various alcohols. Particularly, Pd8 Sb3 HPs/C displays superior specific and mass activities of 29.3 mA cm-2 and 4.5 A mgPd -1 toward the EOR, which are 7.0 and 11.3 times higher than those of commercial Pd/C, and 9.8 and 3.8 times higher than those of commercial Pt/C, respectively, representing one of the best EOR catalysts reported to date. In situ electrochemical attenuated total reflectance surface-enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy (ATR-SEIRAS) measurements reveal that Pd8 Sb3 HPs/C can effectively promote the C2 pathway of the EOR. As revealed by density functional theory calculations, the high EOR activity of the Pd8 Sb3 HPs can be ascribed to the reduced energy barrier of ethanol dehydrogenation. Additionally, Pd8 Sb3 HPs/C also shows superior performance in the ORR. This work advances the controllable synthesis of the Pd-Sb nanostructure, giving huge impetus for the design of high-efficiency electrocatalysts for energy conversion and beyond.

RESUMO

Thermoelectric (TE) generators have come a long way since the first commercial apparatus launched in the 1950s. Since then, the ß-Zn4Sb3 has manifested its potential as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly TE generator compared with the tellurium-bearing TE materials. Although the ß-Zn4Sb3 features an intrinsically low thermal conductivity κ, it suffers from a long-lasting structural instability issue arising from the highly mobile zinc ions. Herein, the dilute Ga dopant gives rise to the aliovalent substitution, lowers the mobile zinc ions, and optimizes the hole carrier concentration n H simultaneously. Meanwhile, the formation of nano-moiré fringes suggests the modulated distribution of point defect that results from soluble Ga in a ß-Zn4Sb3 lattice, which elicits an ultralow lattice thermal conductivity κ L = 0.2 W m-1 K-1 in a (Zn0.992Ga0.008)4Sb3 alloy. Hence, a fully dense ß-Zn4Sb3 incorporated with the dilute Ga doping reveals superior structural stability with a peak zT > 1.4 at 623 K. In this work, the aliovalent dilute doping coupled with phase diagram engineering optimizes the fluxes of moving electrons and charged ions, which stabilizes the single-phase ß-Zn4Sb3 while boosting the TE performance at the mid-temperature region. The synergistic strategies endow the ionic crystals with a thermodynamic route, which opens up a new category for high-performance and thermal robust TE alloys.
