RESUMEN

The article covers scientific basis and elaboration of system concerning self-evaluation of athletes' health state. The study comprised 2 steps. During the first step, a group of 62 athletes (45 males and 17 females) performed methods of self-evaluation of health state through a list of changes, tests and stress testing. The second step included processing and generalization of the data obtained and specification of an integral scale of self-evaluation of athletes health state.

RESUMEN

Degenerative and dystrophic changes of joints and ligaments are among the most prevalent disorders in professional athletes. Specification of a complex system for these diseases is an important task in sports medicine. Extracorporeal shock wave therapy is a modern and highly effective method of rehabilitation.

RESUMEN

The speech of patients suffering from parkinsonism is usually described on the basis of merely clinical criteria. The author for the first time uses K. M. Steingart's polygraphic method for examining the speech in patients with various clinical forms of parkinsonism. As a result, regularities of the temporal characteristics of the speech were revealed, these regularities being a proof of the fact, that in patients with parkinsonism there are no pronounced disturbances of the higher integrative levels. Intense irradiation on the part of motor functions and changes of vegetative reaction confirm the important role of the functional state of the subcortical structures (of the limboreticular complex) in the pathogenesis of the speech disturbances characteristic of parkinsonism. The study has made it possible to ascertain a number of functional changes in the activity of the brain structures including the speech system.

RESUMEN

An examination of 100 patients with parkinsonism and 30 control healthy individuals carried out with the use of Hentschel's test revealed a statistically significant lowering of such characteristics as concentration and activity of attention in parkinsonian patients. There were no substantial differences in the degree of those disturbances in patients with different forms of parkinsonism. These changes are, probably, due to disintegration of the activity of various brain systems in the presence of dopamine deficiency.

RESUMEN

Using psychological methods memory and attention were examined in a control group (normal subjects) and in patients at the early rehabilitation period following reconstructive surgery on cerebral vessels before and after therapy with oxygen baths. The psychological methods of examination were found to be valuable in terms of both diagnosis and assessment of the time-course of the studied parameters at various stages of the treatment. The use of oxygen baths was shown to be effective in disorders of memory and attention.

RESUMEN

Using REG data, the effect of decimeter electromagnetic wave therapy (DEMWT) on the cerebral hemodynamics was studied in patients in the early recovery period following reconstructive surgery on the cerebral vessels. The results of the study suggest that the use of DEMWT increases considerably the compensatory-adaptive functions of the body and improves significantly the cerebral hemodynamics which is paralleled by the regression of neurologic symptomatology. DEMWT represents a physiological and pathologically-substantiated method for treating the given category of patients.

RESUMEN

The data on the high therapeutic efficiency of the local use of decimeter electromagnetic waves (DEMW) in stroke survivors are presented (a course of therapy consisted of 10-12 procedures). Doppler sonography proved to be a highly effective method of monitoring the treatment results. The technique makes it possible to ascertain some aspects of the mechanism of DEMW therapeutic action and provides the researcher with complete information on the intensity and the rate of the collateral circulation development.

RESUMEN

Clinicopsychological studies on memory and attention functions with the help of psychological tests in 34 patients in an early rehabilitation period after operations on cerebral vessels have shown the efficacy of a new method of therapy with sinusoidal modulated currents based on electric sleep methods contributing to the regression of focal neurological symptomatology and improvement of memory and attention functions.

RESUMEN

On the basis of clinical observations and REG recorded in 50 patients in the early restorative period after operations on intracranial cerebral arteries the author recommends a new effective and pathogenetically substantiated method of treatment--sinusoidal modulated currents (SMC) after the method of electric sleep. SMC promotes regression of the focal neurological symptomatology and increases the intensity of cerebral blood flow, evidence of which is the positive time course of REG values.
