RESUMEN

Coordinated manganese (Mn) electrocatalysts owing to their electronic structure flexibility, non-toxic and earth abundant features are promising for electrocatalytic reactions. However, achieving selective hydrogen peroxide (H2 O2 ) production through two electron oxygen reduction (2e-ORR) is a challenge on Mn-centered catalysts. Targeting this goal, we report on the creation of a secondary Mn(II)-coordinated active environment with reactant enrichment effect on boundary-rich porous carbon-based electrocatalysts, which facilitates the selective and rapid synthesis of H2 O2 through 2e-ORR. The catalysts exhibit nearly 100 % Faradaic efficiency and H2 O2 productivity up to 15.1 mol gcat -1 h-1 at 0.1 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode, representing the record high activity for Mn-based electrocatalyst in H2 O2 electrosynthesis. Mechanistic studies reveal that the epoxide and hydroxyl groups surrounding Mn(II) centers improve spin state by modifying electronic properties and charge transfer, thus tailoring the adsorption strength of *OOH intermediate. Multiscale simulations reveal that the high-curvature boundaries facilitate oxygen (O2 ) adsorption and result in local O2 enrichment due to the enhanced interaction between carbon surface and O2 . These merits together ensure the efficient formation of H2 O2 with high local concentration, which can directly boost the tandem reaction of hydrolysis of benzonitrile to benzamide with nearly 100 % conversion rate and exclusive benzamide selectivity.

RESUMEN

How to predict precipitation accurately and efficiently is the key and difficult problem in the field of weather forecasting. At present, we can obtain accurate meteorological data through many high-precision weather sensors and use them to forecast precipitation. However, the common numerical weather forecasting methods and radar echo extrapolation methods have insurmountable defects. Based on some common characteristics of meteorological data, this paper proposes a Pred-SF model for precipitation prediction in target areas. The model focuses on the combination of multiple meteorological modal data to carry out self-cyclic prediction and a step-by-step prediction structure. The model divides the precipitation prediction into two steps. In the first step, the spatial encoding structure and PredRNN-V2 network are used to construct the autoregressive spatio-temporal prediction network for the multi-modal data, and the preliminary predicted value of the multi-modal data is generated frame by frame. In the second step, the spatial information fusion network is used to further extract and fuse the spatial characteristics of the preliminary predicted value and, finally, output the predicted precipitation value of the target region. In this paper, ERA5 multi-meteorological mode data and GPM precipitation measurement data are used for testing to predict the continuous precipitation of a specific area for 4 h. The experimental results show that Pred-SF has strong precipitation prediction ability. Some comparative experiments were also set up for comparison to demonstrate the advantages of the combined prediction method of multi-modal data and the stepwise prediction method of Pred-SF.

RESUMEN

Ethylene glycol is a useful organic compound and chemical intermediate for manufacturing various commodity chemicals of industrial importance. Nevertheless, the production of ethylene glycol in a green and safe manner is still a long-standing challenge. Here, we established an integrated, efficient pathway for oxidizing ethylene into ethylene glycol. Mesoporous carbon catalyst produces H2 O2 , and titanium silicalite-1 catalyst would subsequently oxidize ethylene into ethylene glycol with the in situ generated H2 O2 . This tandem route presents a remarkable activity, i.e., 86 % H2 O2 conversion with 99 % ethylene glycol selectivity and 51.48 mmol gecat -1 h-1 production rate at 0.4 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode. Apart from generated H2 O2 as an oxidant, there exists ⋅OOH intermediate which could omit the step of absorbing and dissociating H2 O2 over titanium silicalite-1, showing faster reaction kinetics compared to the ex situ one. This work not only provides a new idea for yielding ethylene glycol but also demonstrates the superior of in situ generated H2 O2 in tandem route.

RESUMEN

The biological drug of the calf-blood dialysate has various pharmacological effects. It can promote the oxygen and glucose uptake for the hypoxia cells, and has beneficial effects on the malfunction of the blood circulation and trophic disturbances in the brain, and the impairment of peripheral blood circulation. Furthermore, it is favorable to wound healing and can regulate the central nervous system. Adenosine monophosphate (AMP) is a main active ingredient of the biological drug. In this report, a fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) sensor has been developed with ß-CD-capped ZnS QDs as energy donor and 3-hydroxyflavone (3-HF) as energy acceptor. The results showed that AMP can lead to the fluorescence quenching of the FRET sensor at 526 nm, and the Stern-Volmer curve between the fluorescence quenching and the concentrations of AMP present a satisfactory linearity with the correlation coefficient of 0.996. The developed sensor has successfully applied for determination of the AMP in the biological drug.

RESUMEN

In this paper, CuO and CeO2 were screened as co-catalyst components for Fe2O3/attapulgite (ATP) catalyst, and three new catalysts (CuO-Fe2O3/ATP, CeO2-Fe2O3/ATP and CuO-CeO2-Fe2O3/ATP) were prepared for degradation of methylene blue (MB). The three catalysts' characteristics were determined by BET, XRD, FT-IR, SEM and XPS. MB degradation in different systems and at different pH values was also studied. Under the conditions of H2O2 concentration of 4.9 mmol L-1, catalyst dosage of 5 g L-1, pH of 5, reaction temperature of 60 °C and MB initial concentration of 100 mg L-1, the as-synthesized catalysts showed much greater reaction rate and degradation efficiency of MB than Fe2O3/ATP catalyst. In addition, the reusability of the as-prepared composites was evaluated. The intermediate products of MB degradation were identified by LC-MS and the possible degradation process of MB was put forward.

RESUMEN

A novel fluorescent immunosensor for determination of alpha fetoprotein (AFP) in serum samples has been developed based on the nano graphite carbon nitride (g-C3N4) as fluorophore and immunomagnetic beads (MBs) as separation material. The bulk g-C3N4 was obtained by thermal polymerization of melamine, and then carboxylated and exfoliated to acquire the carboxylated nano g-C3N4 (c-n-g-C3N4), which has been characterized and the results showed that it had excellent fluorescent properties. The antibodies of AFP (Ab1, Ab2) were conjugated to the MBs and the c-n-g-C3N4, respectively. In assay of AFP detection, the magnetic part of the immunosensor, MBs-Ab1, would form the sandwich type complex with the signal part of the sensor, c-n-g-C3N4-Ab2. The developed immunosensor could simplify the process of separation due to the MBs. The results illustrated that proposed approach held a good linearity between the fluorescence intensity of the sensor and the AFP concentration ranging from 5-600ng/mL with the limit of detection as low as 0.43ng/mL, and its spiking recoveries ranged from 98.2% to 105.9% with RSD from 2.1% to 3.5%. The fabricated fluorescent immunosensor possesses the merits of good sensitivity, excellent selectivity, high biocompatibility and low cost, and the results provide a novel clue to develop immunosensor for determination of the biomarkers in complex matrices.

RESUMEN

A novel dual emission ratiometric fluorescence probe for determination of glucose has been developed. The reference dye fluorescence isothiocyanate (FITC) has been encapsulated in the silica nanoparticles and then the red emission CdTe QDs were grafted on the surface of the silica particles to obtain the fluorescence probe. With glucose and dopamine as substrates, the glucose level was proportional to the fluorescence ratio change of above probe caused by dopamine oxidation, which was produced via bienzyme catalysis (glucose oxidase and horseradish peroxidase). The established approach was sensitive and selective, and has been applied to determine the glucose in beverage, urine and serum samples. The average recoveries of the glucose at various spiking levels ranged from 95.5% to 108.9% with relative standard deviations from 1.5% to 4.3%. The results provided a clue to develop sensors for rapid determination of the target analytes from complex matrices.
