RESUMEN

Low-concentration ether electrolytes cannot efficiently achieve oxidation resistance and excellent interface behavior, resulting in severe electrolyte decomposition at a high voltage and ineffective electrode-electrolyte interphase. Herein, we utilize sandwich structure-like gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) to enhance the high voltage stability of potassium-ion batteries (PIBs). The GPE contact layer facilitates stable electrode-electrolyte interphase formation, and the GPE transport layer maintains good ionic transport, which enabled GPE to exhibit a wide electrochemical window and excellent electrochemical performance. In addition, Al corrosion under a high voltage is suppressed through the restriction of solvent molecules. Consequently, when using the designed GPE (based on 1 m), the K||graphite cell exhibits excellent cycling stability of 450 cycles with a capacity retention of 91%, and the K||FeFe-Prussian blue cell (2-4.2 V) delivers a high average Coulombic efficiency of 99.9% over 2200 cycles at 100 mA g-1. This study provides a promising path in the application of ether-based electrolytes in high-voltage and long-lasting PIBs.

RESUMEN

Here, a scheme for a controllable nonreciprocal phonon laser is proposed in a hybrid photonic molecule system consisting of a whispering-gallery mode (WGM) optomechanical resonator and a χ(2)-nonlinear WGM resonator, by directionally quantum squeezing one of two coupled resonator modes. The directional quantum squeezing results in a chiral photon interaction between the resonators and a frequency shift of the squeezed resonator mode with respect to the unsqueezed bare mode. We show that the directional quantum squeezing can modify the effective optomechanical coupling in the optomechanical resonator, and analyze the impacts of driving direction and squeezing extent on the phonon laser action in detail. Our analytical and numerical results indicate that the controllable nonreciprocal phonon laser action can be effectively realized in this system. The proposed scheme uses an all-optical and chip-compatible approach without spinning resonators, which may be more beneficial for integrating and packaging of the system on a chip. Our proposal may provide a new route to realize integratable phonon devices for on-chip nonreciprocal phonon manipulations, which may be used in chiral quantum acoustics, topological phononics, and acoustical information processing.

RESUMEN

Nutrients provide vital functions in the body for sustained health, which have been shown to be related to the incidence, prevention and treatment of disease. However, limited bioavailability, loss of targeting specificity and the increased hepatic metabolism limit the utilization of nutrients. In this review, we highlight transdermal absorption of nutrients, which represents an opportunity to allow great use of many nutrients with promising human health benefits. Moreover, we describe how the various types of permeation enhancers are increasingly exploited for transdermal nutrient delivery. Chemical penetration enhancers, carrier systems and physical techniques for transdermal nutrient delivery are described, with a focus on combinatorial approaches. Although there are many carrier systems and physical techniques currently in development, with some tools currently in advanced clinical trials, relatively few products have achieved full translation to clinical practice. Challenges and further developments of these tools are discussed here in this review. This review will be useful to researchers interested in transdermal applications of permeation enhancers for the efficient delivery of nutrients, providing a reference for supporting the need to take more account of specific nutritional needs in specific states.

RESUMEN

Today, rechargeable batteries are omnipresent and essential for our existence. In order to improve the electrochemical performance of electric fields, the introduction of electrolytes with fluorine (F)-based inorganic elemental compositions is a direction of exploration. However, most fluorocarbons have a high global warming potential and ozone depletion potential, which do not meet the sustainability requirements of the battery industry. Therefore, developing sustainable electrolytes is a viable option for future battery development. Although researchers have made much progress in electrolyte optimization, little attention has been paid to developing low-toxic and safe electrolytes. This review aims to elucidate the design principles and recent advances in this direction for solvents and salts. It concludes with a summary and outlook on future research directions for the molecular design of green electrolytes for practical high-voltage rechargeable batteries.

RESUMEN

Cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury is a severe neurological impairment that occurs after blood flow reconstruction in stroke, and microglia cell pyroptosis is one of its important mechanisms. Electroacupuncture has been shown to be effective in mitigating and alleviating cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury by inhibiting neuroinflammation, reducing cellular pyroptosis, and improving neurological function. In this experiment, we divided the rats into three groups, including the sham operation (Sham) group, the middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MCAO/R) group, and the pre-electroacupuncture (EAC) group. Pre-electroacupuncture group was stimulated with electroacupuncture of a certain intensity on the Baihui (GV 20) and Dazhui (GV 14) of the rat once a day from the 7th day to the 1st day before the MCAO/R operation. The extent of cerebral infarction was detected by TTC staining. A modified Zea-Longa five-point scale scoring system was used to determine neurologic function in MCAO rats. The number of neurons and morphological changes were accessed by Nissl staining and HE staining. The cellular damage was detected by TUNEL staining. In addition, the expression levels of RhoA, pyrin, GSDMD, Caspase1, cleaved-Caspase1, Iba-1, CD206, and ROCK2 were examined by western blotting and immunofluorescence. The results found that pre-electroacupuncture significantly attenuated neurological impairment and cerebral infarction compared to the post-MCAO/R rats. In addition, pre-electroacupuncture therapy promoted polarization of microglia to the neuroprotective (M2) phenotype. In addition, pre-electroacupuncture inhibited microglia pyroptosis by inhibiting RhoA/pyrin/GSDMD signaling pathway, thereby reducing neuronal injury and increasing neuronal survival in the MCAO/R rats. Taken together, these results demonstrated that pre-acupuncture could attenuate cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury by inhibiting microglial pyroptosis. Therefore, pre-electroacupuncture might be a potential preventive strategy for ischemic stroke patients.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the efficacy of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for adenomyosis and postoperative recurrence and its influencing factors. METHODS: Clinical and follow-up data of 308 patients with adenomyosis who were treated with HIFU in Haifu Center, Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2017 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The recurrence of adenomyosis and the efficacy of HIFU at 6 months after surgery were followed up. To explore factors influencing postoperative prognosis and recurrence, the following variables were analyzed: patients' age, course of disease, gravidity and parity, size of the uterus, duration of HIFU, duration of irradiation, treatment intensity, dysmenorrhea score, time of follow-up, combined treatment of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), western medicine adjuvant treatment, lesion location and type, and menorrhagia. RESULTS: Among the 308 patients, 238 (77%) were followed up from 6 to 36 months, with an average follow-up time of 15.24 ± 9.97 months. The other 70 (23%) were lost to follow-up. At 6-month after surgery, efficacy rates of dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia management were 86.7% and 89.3%, respectively. Postoperative recurrence rates were 4.8% (1-12 months), 9.0% (12-24 months), and 17.0% (24-36 months) for dysmenorrhea; and 6.3% (1-12 months), 2.4% (12-24 months), and 12.2% (24-36 months) for menorrhagia. Multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that parity (P = 0.043, OR = 1.773, 95% CI 1.018-3.087), uterine size (P = 0.019, OR = 1.004, 95% CI 1.001-1.007), combined treatment of TCM (P = 0.047, OR = 1.846, 95% CI 1.008-3.381), diffuse lesion type (P = 0.013, OR = 0.464, 95% CI 0.254-0.848) and ablation rate (P = 0.015, OR = 0.481, 95%CI 0.267-0.868) were prognostic factors (P < 0.05). Age, course of disease, gravidity, duration of HIFU, duration of irradiation, treatment intensity, preoperative dysmenorrhea score, time of follow-up, western medicine adjuvant therapy, lesion location, and preoperative menstrual volume had no effect on prognosis (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: HIFU can effectively relieve dysmenorrhea and reduce menstrual volume in patients with adenomyosis. Parity, uterine size, lesion type (diffuse), and ablation rate are risk factors for symptom recurrence after HIFU, while the combination of TCM therapy is a protective factor for relapse. We, therefore, recommend TCM in the adjuvant setting after HIFU according to patient condition.

RESUMEN

AIM: To synthesize qualitative research on perspectives and understandings of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients, family members, and staff regarding respect and dignity in ICU, in order to explore the connotations and meanings of respect and dignity in ICU. DESIGN: A qualitative meta-synthesis. METHODS: The Chinese and English databases were systematically searched, including PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL, Embase, Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wangfang Data, VIP, and CBM from each database's inception to July 22, 2023. Studies were critically appraised using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Checklist for Qualitative Research. Qualitative data were extracted, summarized, and meta-synthesized. (PROSPERO: CRD42023447218). RESULTS: A total of 9 studies from 6 countries were included in the meta-synthesis. Thirty-six main themes and 67 sub-themes were extracted, which were eventually integrated into 9 categories and 4 themes: (1) integrity of humanity; (2) autonomy; (3) equality; (4) environmental support. CONCLUSION: To maintain patient dignity, it is necessary to create an environment of respect within the ICU where healthcare professionals uphold the concept of preserving human integrity and respect patients' autonomy and equality. Healthcare professionals need to value the dignity of ICU patients and treat them as unique individuals during treatment and care. Hospital managers should also strive to create a respectful environment to provide environmental support for dignity care implementation.

RESUMEN

Ether-based electrolyte is beneficial to obtaining good low-temperature performance and high ionic conductivity in potassium ion batteries. However, the dilute ether-based electrolytes usually result in ion-solvent co-intercalation of graphite, poor cycling stability, and hard to withstand high voltage cathodes above 4.0 V. To address the aforementioned issues, an electron-withdrawing group (chloro-substitution) was introduced to regulate the solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) and enhance the oxidative stability of ether-based electrolytes. The dilute (~0.91 M) chloro-functionalized ether-based electrolyte not only facilitates the formation of homogeneous dual halides-based SEI, but also effectively suppress aluminum corrosion at high voltage. Using this functionalized electrolyte, the K||graphite cell exhibits a stability of 700 cycles, the K||Prussian blue (PB) cell (4.3 V) delivers a stability of 500 cycles, and the PB||graphite full-cell reveals a long stability of 6000 cycles with a high average Coulombic efficiency of 99.98 %. Additionally, the PB||graphite full-cell can operate under a wide temperature range from -5 °C to 45 °C. This work highlights the positive impact of electrolyte functionalization on the electrochemical performance, providing a bright future of ether-based electrolytes application for long-lasting, wide-temperature, and high Coulombic efficiency PIBs and beyond.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the dynamic evolution process of overall brain health in liver transplantation (LT) recipients, we employed a deep learning-based neuroanatomic biomarker to measure longitudinal changes of brain structural patterns before and 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery. METHODS: Because of the ability to capture patterns across all voxels from a brain scan, the brain age prediction method was adopted. We constructed a 3D-CNN model through T1-weighted MRI of 3609 healthy individuals from 8 public datasets and further applied it to a local dataset of 60 LT recipients and 134 controls. The predicted age difference (PAD) was calculated to estimate brain changes before and after LT, and the network occlusion sensitivity analysis was used to determine the importance of each network in age prediction. RESULTS: The PAD of patients with cirrhosis increased markedly at baseline (+ 5.74 years) and continued to increase within one month after LT (+ 9.18 years). After that, the brain age began to decrease gradually, but it was still higher than the chronological age. The PAD values of the OHE subgroup were higher than those of the no-OHE, and the discrepancy was more obvious at 1-month post-LT. High-level cognition-related networks were more important in predicting the brain age of patients with cirrhosis at baseline, while the importance of primary sensory networks increased temporarily within 6-month post-LT. CONCLUSIONS: The brain structural patterns of LT recipients showed inverted U-shaped dynamic change in the early stage after transplantation, and the change in primary sensory networks may be the main contributor. KEY POINTS: • The recipients' brain structural pattern showed an inverted U-shaped dynamic change after LT. • The patients' brain aging aggravated within 1 month after surgery, and the subset of patients with a history of OHE was particularly affected. • The change of primary sensory networks is the main contributor to the change in brain structural patterns.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: In the era of biologic therapy, phototherapy and methotrexate (MTX) are still commonly employed for patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis. However, the skin cancer risk following a combination of MTX and narrow-band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) has rarely been explored. OBJECTIVES: To investigate whether MTX plus NB-UVB increases skin cancer risk in patients with psoriasis. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of data in Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database from 1997 to 2013. We performed cumulative incidences and multivariate analysis using competing risk regression model, comparing skin cancer risk between cohorts of combination therapy and using NB-UVB alone, matched by relative confounders. We further conducted sensitivity analysis for those receiving higher MTX dosage. Standardized incidence ratio (SIR) was calculated for skin cancer risk. RESULTS: We enrolled 3203 subjects in each cohort. No significant differences in skin cancers were noted between the two cohorts in the cumulative incidences (log-rank test, p = 0.282) and hazard ratio (HR) (adjusted HR = 0.50, 95% CI 0.15, 1.63, p= 0.247) on the competing risk regression model. There were also no significant differences between those receiving higher dose MTX and UVB alone in the cumulative incidences of skin cancers (p = 0.227) and HR (adjusted HR = 0.29, 95% CI 0.04, 2.21, p = 0.231) in the multivariate analysis. There was no significant difference of SIR between the two cohorts compared to the general population. CONCLUSIONS: MTX does not increase skin cancer risk in patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis receiving NB-UVB in the Taiwanese population.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: In recent years, intracardiac electrocardiogram (IC-ECG) technology has been widely used for epicutaneo-cava catheter (ECC) placement and has shown many potential advantages. However, evidence about the quantitative changes, effectiveness, and safety of IC-ECG for lower extremity ECC is sparse. This study aimed to explore the quantitative changes in IC-ECG for lower extremity ECC and determine its effectiveness and safety. METHODS: A retrospective study was conducted on 303 premature infants who underwent successful IC-ECG-guided lower extremity ECC placement between January 2019 and December 2021. All patients underwent chest X-ray postoperatively to verify the position of the catheter tip. The amplitudes of the surface electrocardiogram and IC-ECG QRS waves and the difference between the two amplitudes were measured. The effectiveness (matching rate between IC-ECG and chest X-ray) and safety (incidence of catheter-related complications) of IC-ECG for lower extremity ECC were evaluated. RESULTS: The matching rate between IC-ECG and chest X-ray was 95.0%. When the catheter tip was optimally positioned, the QRS amplitude of the IC-ECG was 0.85 ± 0.56 mv higher than that of the surface electrocardiogram. The overall incidence of catheter-related complications was 10.6%. The actual ECC insertion length was associated with a noticeably increased risk of catheter-related complications. CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that IC-ECG is an effective and safe method by observing the dynamic changes in both QRS complexes and P wave to locate the tip of lower extremity ECC in preterm infants. Our findings would facilitate the application of IC-ECG for ECC localization.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) combined with the levonorgestrel intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) for adenomyosis. METHODS: We searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, SinoMed, Wanfang, and VIP databases from their inception to Nov 20, 2021 for relevant articles that compared HIFU combined with LNG-IUS vs. HIFU alone in patients with adenomyosis. RevMan5.4 software was used for the data analysis. The primary outcome was changes in volume of the uterine. Secondary outcomes included visual analog scale (VAS) scores for dysmenorrhea, serum CA125 level, recurrence rate, changes in volume of the adenomyotic lesion, menstrual volume scores, and adverse reactions. Data synthesis was conducted using a random-effects model with significant heterogeneity (I2 > 50%), and using a fixed-effects model otherwise. This study is registered on the PROSPERO platform (CRD42021295214). RESULTS: The final analysis included 13 studies, with a total of 1861 patients. Results of analysis revealed that there was no significant difference in uterine volume reduction between the HIFU control group and the HIFU/LNG-IUS group at 3 months after procedure (MD:30.63). Compared with the HIFU control group, the HIFU/LNG-IUS group had more pronounced reduction in uterine volume at 6 (MD:29.04) and 12 months (MD:22.10) after procedure. The HIFU/LNG-IUS group has lower VAS scores for dysmenorrhea than the HIFU control group at 3 (MD:1.68), 6 (MD:1.69), and 12 months (MD:1.30) after procedure. Serum CA125 level in the HIFU/LNG-IUS group decreased more significantly than the HIFU control group at 6 (MD:18.34) and 12 months (MD:18.49) after procedure. The recurrence rate in the HIFU/LNG-IUS group was lower than that in the HIFU control group (RR:0.20). CONCLUSIONS: Compared to HIFU control group, HIFU/LNG-IUS group for the management of adenomyosis had more advantages in alleviating symptoms and decreasing the volumes of the uterine and adenomyotic lesions. However, since the number of the included studies was too small and some of them were not RCT, this conclusion needs to be referenced with caution.

RESUMEN

AIMS: To evaluate the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) intervention in the management of pain, anxiety and fear in paediatric patients undergoing needle-related procedures. DESIGN: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). DATA SOURCES: A librarian-designed search of the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, CINAHL, CBM, CNKI, and Wanfang databases was conducted to identify research articles in English or Chinese on RCTs up to February 28, 2022. REVIEW METHODS: Two researchers independently screened eligible articles. The Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews was used to assess the risk of bias in the included studies. A fixed- or random-effects meta-analysis model was used to determine the pooled mean difference based on the results of the heterogeneity test. RESULTS: A total of 2269 articles were initially screened. The meta-analysis included data from 27 studies representing 2224 participants. Compared with the non-VR group, the VR intervention group significantly reduced pain, anxiety, and fear in paediatric patients who underwent puncture-related procedures. Subgroup analysis showed that VR has advantages over conventional and other distraction methods. CONCLUSION: Paediatric patients undergoing needle-related procedures would benefit from VR interventions for pain, anxiety and fear management. IMPACT: VR intervention has the potential to reduce pain, anxiety and fear in paediatric patients undergoing puncture-related procedures. Future clinical interventions could incorporate VR into puncture procedures as an effective method to reduce negative emotions in children eligible for VR distractions. PATIENT OR PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION: Our paper is a systematic review and meta-analysis and such details don't apply to our work.

RESUMEN

Quantum dot nanobeads (QBs) were used as signal source to develop competitive lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) for the detection of chloramphenicol (CAP). The quantitative detection of CAP was achieved by calculating the total color difference (∆E) values of the test line (T line) using the images of test strips. QB-based LFIA (QBs-LFIA) allowed the effective dynamic linear detection of CAP in the range of 0.1-1.5 ng/mL. The limit of detection (LOD) was 3.0 ng/mL, which was 50 and 667 times lower than those achieved for two different brands of colloidal gold kits. The recoveries of CAP during real-sample detection were 82.82-104.91% at spiked levels of 0.1, 0.7, and 1.5 ng/mL. These results indicate that the developed QBs-LFIA facilitates the sensitive detection of CAP.

RESUMEN

This cross-sectional study identified 2, 585 women aged 50-70 with certain diseases, health behaviors and psychological health problems among a representative and community-conducted sample of women in Hunan Province of China. It disclosed their poor health status: 51.0% had chronic diseases, 49.6% had gynecopathy, 23.6% had mastopathy, 57.1% failed to avoid secondhand smoke, less than 50% completed periodic health examinations, and 3.1% were anxious. Chronic diseases are expected to be serious health problems in the next 10 years, emphasizing the importance of women discussing their health status. Common diseases should be managed via public health service projects, and free screening and treatment of common diseases should be provided. To enhance women's health knowledge and awareness, targeted health education is necessary in accordance with their physiological and psychological characteristics.

RESUMEN

Ether-based electrolytes are promising for secondary batteries due to their good compatibility with alkali metal anodes and high ionic conductivity. However, they suffer from poor oxidative stability and high toxicity, leading to severe electrolyte decomposition at high voltage and biosafety/environmental concerns when electrolyte leakage occurs. Here, we report a green ether solvent through a rational design of carbon-chain regulation to elicit steric hindrance, such a structure significantly reducing the solvent's biotoxicity and tuning the solvation structure of electrolytes. Notably, our solvent design is versatile, and an anion-dominated solvation structure is favored, facilitating a stable interphase formation on both the anode and cathode in potassium-ion batteries. Remarkably, the green ether-based electrolyte demonstrates excellent compatibility with K metal and graphite anode and a 4.2 V high-voltage cathode (200 cycles with average Coulombic efficiency of 99.64 %). This work points to a promising path toward the molecular design of green ether-based electrolytes for practical high-voltage potassium-ion batteries and other rechargeable batteries.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Sexuality has an important impact on people's physical and mental health, but current research on the sexual activity of older Chinese women has many limitations and more detailed studies are needed. AIM: The objective was to determine the prevalence of sexual activity and related factors in women aged 55 to 85 years in Hunan, China. METHODS: Based on the data from the Hunan Provincial Women Health Needs Survey in 2018, we conducted a secondary analysis of 2,401 older women aged 55 and above. The dependent variable was sexual activity, and independent variables included sociodemographic characteristics, health behaviors, reproductive and chronic medical history, and psychological characteristics. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 26.0. Chi-square test was used to assess the association between categorical variables, and binary logistic regression was used to examine factors related to sexual activity. OUTCOMES: Sexual activity and related factors. RESULTS: The prevalence of sexual activity among older women was 12.5% (301/2401) in the past month. Having a partner (OR = 1.484; 95% CI, 1.048-2.101; P = .026), jogging (OR = 2.061; 95% CI, 1.391-3.054; P < .001), dancing (OR = 1.477; 95% CI, 1.106-1.974; P = .008), vegetarian-based diet (OR = 2.197; 95% CI, 1.334-3.618; P = .002), meat-based diet (OR = 2.196; 95% CI, 1.144-4.216; P = .018) were positively associated with being sexually active. Whereas, aging (OR = 0.781; 95% CI, 0.647-0.942; P = .010), living in the urban (OR = 0.628; 95% CI, 0.488-0.808; P < .001), hypertension (OR = 0.702; 95% CI, 0.520-0.949; P = .021), and anxiety (OR = 0.680; 95% CI, 0.475-0.972; P = .034) were negatively associated with being sexually active. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS: Health care workers need to be aware that older women still have sexual activity and understand the needs of older women for sex education, take the initiative to discuss safe sex with them, and solve their sexual problems. STRENGTHS AND LIMITATIONS: This is one of the largest studies to determine the prevalence of sexual activity among older women in China and its related factors. In addition, new factors such as exercise types and eating habits related to sexual activity were discovered. The limitation of this study is that it did not use a specific questionnaire to assess the sexual activity and did not consider physical tenderness other than sexual intercourse. CONCLUSIONS: Some older women still have had sexual activity in the past month and factors such as lifestyles that can be changed and chronic diseases that can be self-managed were found to predict sexual activity. RESUMEN

Flexible conductive thin films have recently become a research area of focus in both academia and industry. In this study, a method of preparing nanofiber conductive films by centrifugal spinning is proposed. Polyurethane (PU) nanofiber films were prepared by centrifugal spinning as the flexible substrate film, and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were used as the conducting medium, to obtain CNTs/PU nanofiber conductive films with good conductivity and elasticity. The effects of different CNT concentrations on the properties of the nanofiber films were investigated. It was found that the conductivity of the nanofiber conductive films was optimal when an impregnation concentration of 9% CNTs was used in the stretching process. Cyclic tensile resistance tests showed that the nanofiber conductive films have good durability and repeatability. Physical and structural property analysis of the CNT/PU conductive films indicate that the adsorption of the CNTs on the PU surface was successful and the CNTs were evenly dispersed on the surface of the matrix. Moreover, the CNTs improved the thermal stability of the PU membrane. The CNT/PU conductive films were pasted onto a human finger joint, wrist joint, and Adam's apple to test the detection of movement. The results showed that finger bending, wrist bending, and laryngeal prominence movement all caused a change in resistance of the conductive film, with an approximately linear curve. The results indicate that the CNT/PU nanofiber conductive film developed in this study can be used to test the motion of human joints.

RESUMEN

It has been noted that temozolomide resistance occurs in a number of malignancies, including glioma, although the underlying cause of this is unknown. The goal of the study in vivo investigation to show that increased CD147 expression in glioma cells is a factor in their resistance to the chemotherapy drug temozolomide. Proliferation assays, TUNEL assays, reactive oxygen species assays, protein degradation assays, immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, quantitative polymerase chain reactions, and tumorigenicity assays were all carried out. Using the human protein atlas databases, the expression levels of CD147 in different kinds of malignancies were examined. For immunohistochemistry, a total of 7, 12, 19, 15, and 16 glioma samples were taken from para-carcinoma tissue, representing stage I, stage II, stage III, and stage IV gliomas, respectively. The expression of CD147 proteins is correlated with the tumor's aggressiveness. Cell development was slowed by suppressing the expression of the CD147 protein. The expression of the CD147 protein contributed to the emergence of temozolomide resistance. Expression of the CD147 protein reduced mRNA expression. The growth-inhibitory impact of temozolomide on glioma cells was enhanced by the suppression of CD147 protein.  Nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 expression and CD147 protein expression showed a significant reciprocal connection with each other (p 0.0001, r2 = 0.3254). In glioma, resistance to temozolomide is due to overexpression of CD147 protein and induction of nuclear factor E2-related factor 2.
