INTRODUCTION: Extramural vascular invasion in patients with rectal cancer is a poor prognostic factor associated with distant metastasis; thus, accurate preoperative diagnosis is important. However, the accurate detection of extramural vascular invasion using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is difficult, and an improved diagnostic modality is required. In addition, the factors involved in the formation of extramural venous invasion (EMVI) remain unclear. In this study, we aimed to examine the ability of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/MRI ([18F] FDG PET/MRI) to detect EMVI and elucidate the factors involved in EMVI. METHODS: Thirty-one patients with rectal cancer were enrolled in this study between 2017 and 2021. We preoperatively evaluated the pelvic [18F] FDG PET/MRI to detect extramural vascular invasion ([18F] FDG PET/MRI-defined EMVI: pmrEMVI). To investigate the factors related to pmrEMVI, we confirmed the desmoplastic reaction (DR) and TWIST expression in the primary lesions of rectal cancer and examined its relationship with pmrEMVI. RESULTS: Six of the 31 patients were pmrEMVI positive. Four pmrEMVI-positive patients had distant metastases. The levels of immature DR and TWIST1 expression were significantly higher in cases with pmrEMVI positivity. CONCLUSION: pmrEMVI is a useful biomarker for predicting distant metastasis. In addition, pmrEMVI was significantly correlated with factors related to tumor invasiveness.

A 52-year-old woman was presented with abdominal distension. Chest-abdominal CT showed some tumors in the left breast, enlarged axillary lymph nodes, ovary metastasis peritoneal thickening, a large amount of ascites. The diagnosis of needle biopsy in the breast mass was invasive ductal carcinoma, Luminal A type. The large amount of ascites decreased after the start of administration of fulvestrant and CDK4/6 inhibitor(PAL). Also chest and abdominal CT showed reduction of all lesions. We found the high expression of cyclin D1 protein and the negative of p16 protein in tissues of the needle biopsy. Fifty months later, she continues to do good ADL and PR status. We experienced a case of metastatic breast cancer with massive ascites and peritoneal metastasis that was successfully treated with a CDK4/6 inhibitor(PAL)and achieved long- term survival.

Multidisciplinary treatment for colorectal cancer (CRC) has undergone significant advances, and molecularly targeted drugs have substantially improved patient prognosis. However, one problem with current molecularly targeted therapeutics is that they must be used in combination with anticancer agents. New molecular targeted therapies that can be used alone are needed. We have previously identified prokineticin1 (PROK1) factor as a therapeutic potential target for CRC. PROK1 factor is involved in the angiogenesis of tissues surrounding CRC tumors. Additionally, PROK1 receptors 1 and 2 are expressed in CRC cell lines, playing roles in cell proliferation via an autocrine mechanism and in the signaling system. In this study, a liver metastasis mouse model was developed using human colorectal cancer cell lines, and mice were divided into anti-PROK1 antibody administration and control groups. Mice were treated intraperitoneally with antibodies or phosphate-buffered saline (control) every three days. The number, size, and cell proliferation ability of metastatic lesions were analyzed. Our results suggested that the number, size, and cancer cell proliferation ability of metastatic lesions decreased, and the survival time significantly increased in the antibody-treated group compared to those in the control group. Thus, the anti-PROK1 antibody therapy suppressed the cell proliferation ability of liver metastatic lesions in a CRC mouse model, suggesting its potential as a novel treatment strategy.

In recent years, an increasing number of reports have demonstrated the usefulness of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT). In our department, we consider cT3-4 and/or cN-positive locally advanced rectal cancer as an indication for NACRT. We have retrospectively evaluated the efficacy and safety of NACRT in 11 patients who underwent NACRT from November 2018 to July 2022. All patients were male, with a median age of 69 years, and cStage was â ¡a: 1, â ¡c: 1, â ¢b: 5, â ¢c: 3, and â £a: 1. All patients completed NACRT, and there were no cases of CTCAE Grade 3 or higher adverse events or treatment interruptions. The response rate was 72.7%, and histological response grade were Grade 3: 1(9.1%), 2: 4 (36.4%), 1b: 6(54.5%), and surgical margin was negative in all cases. Pathological down stage was obtained in 45.5% of cases, and pCR was obtained in 1 case(9.1%). The median observation period was 17 months, and during the period, 2 cases(18.2%)developed recurrence, both of which were pulmonary metastases, and no local recurrence including pelvic lymph node recurrence was observed. NACRT for locally advanced rectal cancer is considered a relatively safe and highly locally controllable preoperative treatment.

INTRODUCTION: Excess oxidative stress is generated by inflammation and cancer, and it is involved in the development and metastasis of colorectal cancer. However, there are few reports on the relationship between blood oxidative stress and prognosis. This study examined the usefulness of derivatives of reactive oxygen metabolites (d-ROMs), a measure of oxidative stress, and the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), an inflammatory marker, as prognostic markers in colorectal cancer. METHODS: The study enrolled 163 patients who underwent colorectal cancer resection at our institution between 2013 and 2018. Blood samples were taken preoperatively to measure d-ROMs and NLR. Spearman's correlation analysis was used to examine the relationships between d-ROMs and NLR, and Cox regression analysis was performed to identify factors associated with d-ROMs and NLR. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate disease-specific survival (DSS). RESULTS: There was no correlation between d-ROMs and NLR. Tumor size was significantly associated with d-ROMs and NLR. DSS was significantly worse among patients with high d-ROMs or high NLR, although patients with high d-ROMs and high NLR had the worst DSS. In the multivariate analysis, distant metastasis and the high d-ROM/NLR combination were significant factors associated with DSS (p < 0.001, hazard ratio [HR] = 22.880 and p = 0.049, HR = 2.391, respectively). CONCLUSION: Preoperative d-ROMs and NLR reflect the tumor size among patients with colorectal cancer. The combination of d-ROMs and NLR may effectively predict prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer.

BACKGROUND: We aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of 2-[18F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging ([18F]FDG PET/MRI) for preoperative staging and usefulness of the detection of extramural vascular invasion (EMVI) for predicting metastasis in rectal cancer. METHODS: Twenty-three patients underwent pretreatment [18F]FDG PET/MRI, including early-delayed and extended PET and dedicated pelvic MRI without using anticonvulsant or contrast agents. Seven patients received preoperative treatment and all subsequently underwent surgery. Clinical cancer stages were evaluated using postoperative histopathology as a reference. PET/MR-defined EMVI (pmrEMVI) and pathological (p) TN stages were correlated with disease progression for a maximum of 2 years. RESULTS: Of 16 patients without preoperative treatment, 10 had pT3, 4 tumors, 7 had pN1-3 lymph nodes, and 5 had synchronous metastases (SM; liver, lung, inguinal node). The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of PET/MRI were 90%, 67%, and 81% for T staging (T1, 2 vs. T3, 4), and 89%, 100%, and 94% for N staging (N0 vs. N1-3), respectively. Patient-based accuracy for SM staging was 100% (4/4). Of 23 patients, 6 were positive for pmrEMVI and 4 had metachronous metastases or local recurrence (MM; pelvic node, brain, lung, skin) during the follow-up periods. Five of the 6 pmrEMVI-positive patients had SM and/or MM (odds ratio = 37.5). Among pT, pN, and pmrEMVI, pmrEMVI-positivity was the only significant predictor for poorer progression-free survival (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: [18F]FDG PET/MRI according to our suggested protocol is a one-stop, non-contrast, and valid diagnostic method for rectal cancer staging, and pmr-EMVI can be used as an imaging biomarker for predicting metastases.

BACKGROUND: Diverticulosis of the appendix is an uncommon clinical entity, and a preoperative diagnosis is often difficult. Herein we report an unusual case of appendiceal diverticulosis. CASE PRESENTATION: A 72-year-old male was referred to our hospital to examine the cause of hematochezia. A colonoscopy study showed a protruding lesion resembling a submucosal tumor (SMT), approximately 20 mm in diameter, at the site around the appendiceal orifice of the cecum. An abdominal computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed a cystic lesion at the appendiceal base. The lesion was clinically diagnosed as a cystic tumor of the appendix, but the possibility of a malignant tumor could not be excluded. Therefore, a laparoscopic ileocecal resection with lymph node dissection was performed. The pathological examination of the resected specimen revealed that the lesion was a diverticulum (pseudodiverticulum) occurring solitarily at the appendiceal base, in which the mucosal layer of the appendix was invaginated into the submucosa of the adjacent cecum, thus forming an SMT-like lesion. CONCLUSION: To our knowledge, this is the first case report in the English literature showing that an appendiceal diverticulum can manifest as an SMT-like lesion in the cecum. This condition should be recognized as a differential diagnosis for such lesions.

A 76-year-old woman was diagnosed with left-sided transverse colon cancer invading the pancreatic tail with multiple liver metastases and peritoneal dissemination. Preoperative diagnosis was cT4b(SI)N2aM1c(H3, P1), cStage â £c, harboring BRAF V600E mutation. Transverse colostomy was performed, and FOLFOXIRI plus bevacizumab(BEV)was administered. After 12 chemotherapy cycles, the primary tumor and metastatic lesions showed partial response. Because of CEA elevating after 5-FU plus LV plus BEV as maintenance therapy was changed, the regimen was switched to encorafenib plus binimetinib plus cetuximab as the second-line chemotherapy. The patient developed dermatitis around the colostomy after the start of the second-line chemotherapy, resulting in temporally cetuximab monotherapy. After improvement of dermatitis, the patient resumed encorafenib plus binimetinib, improving liver metastases. Eight months after the start of the second- line, the patient has been administered with triple therapy and had stable disease status.

BACKGROUND: Prokineticin 1 (PROK1) was reported as an angiogenic factor, which is associated with tumor progression, cell invasion, and metastasis in colorectal cancer. Although the association between PROK1 expression in primary cancer lesion and patient prognosis was reported, it is unclear whether plasma PROK1 concentration may be a predictive factor in colorectal cancer patients. This study investigated the association between PROK1 concentration in plasma and prognosis in colorectal cancer patients. METHODS: We measured preoperative PROK1 plasma levels using ELISA method, while PROK1 expression in primary cancer lesion was evaluated using immunohistochemistry (IHC). The association between plasma PROK1 levels and cancer-related survival rate (CRS) was evaluated. Additionally, we examined whether simultaneous PROK1 expression in both primary cancer lesions and plasma was correlated with CRS. The cancer-related survival rate was calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method, and survival estimates were compared using the log-rank test. RESULTS: We have gathered eligible 130 CRC patients retrospectively. Out of 130 patients, 61 (46.9%) were positive on IHC in primary cancer, and 69 (53.1%) were negative, while 43 (33.1%) had high-value PROK1 in plasma. Out of these 43, 30 (25.4%) also had concomitant higher IHC expression in primary cancer. The plasma PROK1 levels tended to increase with advancing stages. The plasma PROK1-positive group had a lower 5-year CRS than the negative group (63.6% vs. 88.2%; P = 0.006). Additionally, simultaneous PROK1 expression was associated with a more significant decrease of 5-year CRS than both negative groups in all stages (76.2% vs. 92.5%; P = 0.003) and stage III (59.3% vs. 84.5%; P = 0.047). Multivariate analysis showed simultaneous PROK1 expression was independently associated with worse CRS (HR, 1.97; 95% CI 1.203.24, P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: PROK1 expression in preoperative plasma reflects poor prognosis in patients undergoing curative resection for colorectal cancer. The plasma PROK1 level may be a potential predictive marker, especially in stage III colorectal cancer patients.

AIM: Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the pancreas (SCP) is an extremely rare and aggressive disease with poor prognosis. We have already reported a rare case of SCP with long-term survival. In the present article, we investigate the underlying mechanisms of patient's long-term survival from the point of view of cellular senescence which was examined in three SCP cases, including our reported case, using immunohistochemical analysis. FINDINGS: The expressions of cellular senescence marker were observed in the sarcomatous component of the patient with long-term survival but not observed in the other patients with short- term survival. Thus, we can speculate that cellular senescence might play an important role in the reduction of the cell proliferative and metastatic activities of sarcomatous cells, leading to long-term patient survival.

BACKGROUND: Heterotopic ossification (HO) is the formation of osseous tissue outside the skeleton. HO in malignant tumors of the digestive tract is extremely rare, as is ossification in metastatic lesions from HO-negative digestive tract tumors. Regarding the pathogenesis of HO, two theories have been proposed. The first is that the osteoblastic metaplasia of tumor cells (driven by the epithelial-mesenchymal transition, EMT) results in HO, and the second is that factors secreted by cancer cells lead to the metaplasia of stromal pluripotent cells into osteoblasts. However, the osteogenic mechanisms remain unclear. CASE PRESENTATION: An 83-year-old Japanese woman underwent low anterior rectal resection for rectal cancer before presentation at our institution, in June 2018. The final diagnosis was stage IIB rectal adenocarcinoma (T4aN0M0). Histological examination did not reveal HO in the primary tumor. Thirteen months after the operation, a solitary metastatic lesion in the brain 20 mm in size and a solitary metastatic lesion in a right axillary lymph node 20 mm in size were diagnosed. The patient was treated with gamma-knife therapy for the brain metastasis. One month later, she was referred to our institution. She underwent lymph node resection. Histological examination revealed that most portions of the affected lymph node were occupied by metastatic tumor cells and that central necrosis and four small ossified lesions without an osteoblast-like cell rim were present in the peripheral region. Immunohistochemical analysis showed tumor cells positive for BMP-2, osteonectin, osteocalcin, AE1/AE3, TGF-ß1, Gli2, Smad2/3, and CDX2 and negative for nestin, CD56, and CK7. CONCLUSION: This is the first English case report of HO in a metachronous metastatic lymph node after the curative resection of HO-negative rectal cancer. Unlike HO lesions in past reports, the HO lesion did not show peripheral osteoblast-like cells, and the immunohistochemical findings indicated that the present case resulted from the EMT.

BACKGROUND: The careful preoperative oral assessment may be useful for safe surgery under general anesthesia. The purpose of this study was to investigate the presence of periodontitis in patients with malignant digestive disease before surgery under general anesthesia. METHODS: Patients with digestive malignant disease who underwent periodontal examination and orthopantomograph examination for preoperative oral health assessment were participated. The authors investigated the patients' general characteristics and clinical oral information, including the presence of periodontitis. RESULTS: One hundred twenty patients participated in this study. The mean and standard deviation of the number of teeth was 20.8 ± 8.2, and there was a statistically significant correlation between age and number of teeth. The periodontal pocket depth was 3.0 ± 1.0, and mobile teeth were observed in 62 patients. There was a statistically significant correlation between number of teeth and number of mobile teeth. However, there was no significant difference between the age of patients without mobile teeth and the age of patients with mobile teeth. CONCLUSIONS: This retrospective study performed in single-institution clarified the presence of periodontitis in patients with malignant digestive disease before surgery. Regardless of age, it is important to assess the oral health, including periodontitis, for safe surgery under general anesthesia.

BACKGROUND: Pancreatic cancer composed of acinar cell carcinoma (ACC) and ductal adenocarcinoma (DAC) is rare, and the clinicopathological characteristics of ACC with DAC have yet to be elucidated. Herein, we report a case of ACC with a DAC component of the pancreas and examined the histogenesis of this tumor. CASE PRESENTATION: A 69-year-old man was admitted to our hospital complaining of appetite loss, constipation, epigastric dull pain, and jaundice. Abdominal computed tomography and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography revealed a pancreatic head tumor with dilatation of the bile duct and the distal main pancreatic duct. Under the diagnosis of pancreatic head cancer, a pancreatoduodenectomy was performed. The histology of the resected tumor consisted of mainly ACC with a focus of DAC, which was confirmed by mucin staining and immunohistochemistry for antigens such as BCL10, trypsin, Smad4, p16, p53, and MUC1. There was histological transition between the components of ACC and DAC, and immunostaining of the transitional zone showed equivocal results for the antigens. KRAS was wild-type in both ACC and DAC. The patient was treated with adjuvant chemotherapy with S-1 for 1 year. No evidence of recurrence or metastasis was observed after 9 years of follow-up. CONCLUSIONS: A rare case of pancreatic ACC with a DAC component in a patient with long-term survival after surgery was reported. Immunohistochemical and molecular analysis indicated that DAC might have arisen from ACC through transdifferentiation in this case.

BACKGROUND: Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the pancreas (SCP) tends to have similar or even worse prognosis than that of conventional pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The clinical and pathological features of SCP remain poorly characterized owing to its rarity. CASE PRESENTATION: A 58-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with the chief complaints of upper abdominal pain and weight loss. Abdominal contrast computed tomography revealed a 5-cm low-density mass in the pancreatic body. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography revealed an obstruction of the main pancreatic duct and a dilation of the distal main pancreatic duct. Based on the clinicoradiological findings, pancreatic body cancer was suspected, and the distal pancreatectomy was performed. A pathological examination revealed that the tumor was composed of an area of invasive ductal adenocarcinoma and an area of sarcomatous spindle-shaped cells; the latter component predominated. The spindle cells were immunohistochemically positive for both cytokeratin and vimentin, and thus, a pathological diagnosis of SCP was made. In addition, immunohistochemical analysis suggested the sarcomatous component might be derived from the adenocarcinoma component via the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition. After the operation, the patient received 6 months of chemotherapy with gemcitabine. At 10 years after the operation, the patient is alive with no recurrence. CONCLUSIONS: The current case study presented a SCP patient with long-term survival after the operation. It was worth noting that the sarcomatous component of the tumor pathologically showed lower MIB-1 labeling index compared with those in previously reported SCP cases, which might account for the long-term survival of the patient.

A 42-year-old woman consulted our hospital with chief complaints of a right breast mass and pain. Based on needle biopsy of the breast tumor, the pathological diagnosis was invasive ductal carcinoma(scirrhous type), which tested positive for estrogen, progesterone, and HER2 receptor. PET-CT(FDG)showed intrathoracic lymph node metastasis. After several tests, she received a diagnosis of cT2N1M1(LYM), Stage â £ breast cancer. She received pertuzumab, trastuzumab, and docetaxel treatments. After chemotherapy, the intrathoracic lymph node and breast tumors were not observed. She underwent mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection. The pathological diagnosis showed a complete response after surgery. The patient's postoperative course was uneventful; she had received radiotherapy and anti-HER2 therapy. Twenty-three months after the surgery, no recurrence was observed. Herein, we report successful treatment of Stage â £ breast cancer with conversion therapy.

A 32-year-old woman was admitted our hospital due to epigastric discomfort. The patient diagnosed as having scirrhous carcinoma of the stomach by upper gastrointestinal scope. Peritoneal dissemination and ovarian metastasis were confirmed by the diagnostic laparoscopy. Therefore, combination chemotherapy with S-1 and intraperitoneal chemotherapy(ip)with docetaxel (DTX) was started. After 2 courses chemotherapy, laparoscopy was performed again. Peritoneal dissemination was scarred, but biopsy showed altered AE1/AE3 positive cells, and increased left ovarian metastasis, so systemic chemotherapy was changed to DCS chemotherapy and added DTX ip. After 4 courses chemotherapy and 7 months after the first diagnosis, subtotal gastrectomy, hysterectomy and bilateral adnexectomy were performed because the cytology and tumor marker remained within normal range. In histopathological diagnosis, the effect of chemotherapy was Grade 2 at the primary site and Grade 3 at the metastatic site. Nine years have passed since the initial diagnosis and she has no relapse with postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy.

In the 9th edition Japanese Classification of Colorectal Carcinoma, Stage â ¡ and Stage â ¢ colorectal cancer(CRC)were subdivided by TNM classification on invasion and number of lymph node metastases. We studied prognostic comparison and relation of adjuvant chemotherapy at the new classification. We included 400 cases with resected â ¡ and â ¢ CRC from 2007 to 2014. â ¡a/â ¡b/â ¡c/â ¢a/â ¢b/â ¢c were 97/68/20/24/124/67 cases. Adjuvant chemotherapy was performed at 19/32/45/66/59/70% in â ¡a/â ¡b/â ¡c/â ¢a/â ¢b/â ¢c, with or without adjuvant chemotherapy at each stage survival rates were compared. In â ¡a/â ¡b/â ¡c, DSS was 97/97/82% and DFS was 89/88/76%, and the prognosis of â ¡c was significantly worse. In â ¢a/â ¢b/â ¢c, DSS was 95/86/57% and DFS was 82/77/41%. By the presence or absence of adjuvant chemotherapy, significantly differences were obtained at â ¢b and â ¢c. Prognosis of â ¡c was almost same as â ¢b, and prognosis of â ¢a was almost same as â ¡b. Therefore, we considered adjuvant chemotherapy with oxaliplatin should be performed to â ¡c, â ¢b, and â ¢c.

BACKGROUND: Lymphangiomas are uncommon congenital malformations that present mainly in the head, neck, and axillar regions in pediatric patients. Mesenteric cystic lymphangiomas (MCLs), which occasionally present with substantial growth and the invasion of adjacent vital structures, are rarely reported in adults. We report a case of MCL in an adult who was treated with laparoscopic-assisted excision. CASE PRESENTATION: A 40-year-old Japanese man visited his family physician for prolonged periumbilical pain. Plain computed tomography (CT) showed a low-density mass in his left abdomen, and he was referred to our hospital 2 weeks later. His abdomen was flat and soft, and no mass was felt upon palpation. Routine laboratory data showed no abnormalities in the blood cell counts. The levels of tumor markers, such as carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), and cancer antigen 125 (CA125), were within normal ranges. Contrast-enhanced CT was performed, and a low-density mass was observed with an irregular outline and poor contrast, as well as involvement of the peripheral mesenteric artery and partial compression of the adjacent jejunum without dilatation of the oral side of the bowel. The patient was diagnosed with lymphatic cysts and observed for 1 month without symptom exacerbation. Follow-up CT showed no increase in the size of the mass but showed apparent invasion of the jejunal wall without bowel obstruction. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed intermediate intensity on T1-weighted imaging (T1WI) and high intensity on T2-weighted imaging (T2WI). The coronal view on T2WI clearly showed an accumulation of cystic lesions. We performed tumor excision with partial resection of the jejunum in a laparoscopic-assisted manner. Pathological examination showed multicystic lesions with an attenuated endothelial lining, surrounding rich adipose tissue and scattered smooth muscle fibers; the patient was diagnosed with MCL. Immunohistochemical assays supported this diagnosis. CONCLUSIONS: This is rare case of MCL presenting in an adult who underwent successful laparoscopic-assisted resection. Mesenteric lymphangioma (ML) should be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients with intraabdominal cysts. Radical excision is optimal, even when the patient is asymptomatic. Laparoscopic-assisted tumor resection is a suitable surgical method for treating MLs located in the peripheral mesentery.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Pancreatic fistula after pancreatoduodenectomy (PD) is not uncommon, but few reports describe a stricture after pancreatogastrointestinalstomy. We investigated the clinical influence of anastomotic stricture caused by pancreatogastrointestinalstomy after PD. METHODS: The subjects of this prospective cohort study were 132 patients who underwent PD or pylorus-preserving PD. We reviewed the relationships between pancreatic duct dilatation of the remnant pancreas and several risk factors. We also compared pancreatic duct dilatation with pancreatic atrophy and analyzed nutrient parameters in the first postoperative year. RESULTS: Patients with a preoperative pancreatic duct diameter less than 3 mm had a significantly dilated postoperative pancreatic duct diameter (p = 0.0001). The average atrophy rate of the remnant pancreas was 26.3 %, with the lowest atrophy rate (7.3 %) seen in patients without pre- or postoperative pancreatic duct dilation. A normal pancreas in which pancreatic duct dilatation developed postoperatively had a high atrophy rate (34.9 %). Moreover, only patients without pre- or postoperative pancreatic dilatation gained body weight (3.9 %). CONCLUSION: This study shows a significant correlation between pancreatic atrophy rate and weight loss. Atrophy of the remnant pancreas caused by anastomotic stricture influences the exocrine function of patients after PD. The anastomotic method must be improved to prevent pancreatic duct dilatation and allow for early diagnosis and management of stenotic lesions.
