INTRODUCTION: The human salivary metabolome is a rich source of information for metabolomics studies. Among other influences, individual differences in sleep-wake history and time of day may affect the metabolome. OBJECTIVES: We aimed to characterize the influence of a single night of sleep deprivation compared to sufficient sleep on the metabolites present in oral fluid and to assess the implications of sampling time points for the design of metabolomics studies. METHODS: Oral fluid specimens of 13 healthy young males were obtained in Salivette® devices at regular intervals in both a control condition (repeated 8-hour sleep) and a sleep deprivation condition (total sleep deprivation of 8 h, recovery sleep of 8 h) and their metabolic contents compared in a semi-targeted metabolomics approach. RESULTS: Analysis of variance results showed factor 'time' (i.e., sampling time point) representing the major influencer (median 9.24%, range 3.02-42.91%), surpassing the intervention of sleep deprivation (median 1.81%, range 0.19-12.46%). In addition, we found about 10% of all metabolic features to have significantly changed in at least one time point after a night of sleep deprivation when compared to 8 h of sleep. CONCLUSION: The majority of significant alterations in metabolites' abundances were found when sampled in the morning hours, which can lead to subsequent misinterpretations of experimental effects in metabolomics studies. Beyond applying a within-subject design with identical sample collection times, we highly recommend monitoring participants' sleep-wake schedules prior to and during experiments, even if the study focus is not sleep-related (e.g., via actigraphy).

The maxilla occupies a key position in dentofacial orthopaedics, since its transversal development can be directly influenced by orthodontic therapy. The maturation stages of the mid-palatal suture, which are obtained from cone-beam computed tomography images (CBCT), present an addition to clinical decision-making in transversal discrepancies of the upper jaw. In an endeavour to reduce ionizing radiation in adolescents and young adults, who are particularly susceptible to long term stochastic irradiation effects, we investigated the feasibility of 3 Tesla (3T) MRI in detecting the maturation stages of the mid-palatal suture. A collective of 30 patients aged 24-93 years with routine neck MRI at 3T, underwent an additional three-dimensional isotropic T1 weighted study sequence of the midface. Image evaluation was performed on axial, multi-planar formatted reconstructions of the dataset aligned to the midline axis of the palate, and curved reconstructions aligned to the concavity of the palate. Inverted images helped to achieve an image impression similar to the well-known CBCT appearance. All datasets were reviewed by three readers and mid-palatal maturation was scored twice according to Angelieri et al. Intra- and inter-rater agreement were evaluated to measure the robustness of the images for clinical evaluation. 3T MRI deemed reliable for the assessment of mid-palatal suture maturation and hence for the appraisal of the hard palate and its adjacent sutures. The data of this pilot study display the feasibility of non-ionizing cross-sectional MRI for the determination of sutural maturation stages. These findings underline the potential of MRI for orthodontic treatment planning, further contributing to the avoidance of unnecessary radiation doses.

Plastic surgeons routinely use 3D-models in their clinical practice, from 3D-photography and surface imaging to 3D-segmentations from radiological scans. However, these models continue to be viewed on flattened 2D screens that do not enable an intuitive understanding of 3D-relationships and cause challenges regarding collaboration with colleagues. The Metaverse has been proposed as a new age of applications building on modern Mixed Reality headset technology that allows remote collaboration on virtual 3D-models in a shared physical-virtual space in real-time. We demonstrate the first use of the Metaverse in the context of reconstructive surgery, focusing on preoperative planning discussions and trainee education. Using a HoloLens headset with the Microsoft Mesh application, we performed planning sessions for 4 DIEP-flaps in our reconstructive metaverse on virtual patient-models segmented from routine CT angiography. In these sessions, surgeons discuss perforator anatomy and perforator selection strategies whilst comprehensively assessing the respective models. We demonstrate the workflow for a one-on-one interaction between an attending surgeon and a trainee in a video featuring both viewpoints as seen through the headset. We believe the Metaverse will provide novel opportunities to use the 3D-models that are already created in everyday plastic surgery practice in a more collaborative, immersive, accessible, and educational manner.

Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) is one of the main causes of dry eye disease. To better understand the physiological functions of human meibomian glands (MGs), the present study compared MGs with free sebaceous glands (SGs) and hair-associated SGs of humans using morphological, immunohistochemical, and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LCMS)-based lipidomic approaches. Eyelids with MGs, nostrils, lips, and external auditory canals with free SGs, and scalp with hair-associated SGs of body donors were probed with antibodies against cytokeratins (CK) 1, 8, 10, and 14, stem cell markers keratin 15 and N-cadherin, cell-cell contact markers desmoglein 1 (Dsg1), desmocollin 3 (Dsc3), desmoplakin (Dp), plakoglobin (Pg), and E-cadherin, and the tight junction protein claudin 5. In addition, Oil Red O staining (ORO) was performed in cryosections. Secretions of MGs as well as of SGs of nostrils, external auditory canals, and scalps were collected from healthy volunteers, analyzed by LCMS, and the data were processed using various multivariate statistical analysis approaches. Serial sections of MGs, free SGs, and hair-associated SGs were 3D reconstructed and compared. CK1 was expressed differently in hair-associated SGs than in MGs and other free SGs. The expression levels of CK8, CK10, and CK14 in MGs were different from those in hair-associated SGs and other free SGs. KRT15 was expressed differently in hair-associated SGs, whereas N-cadherin was expressed equally in all types of glands. The cell-cell contact markers Dsg1, Dp, Dsc3, Pg, and E-cadherin revealed no differences. ORO staining showed that lipids in MGs were more highly dispersed and had larger lipid droplets than lipids in other free SGs. Hair-associated SGs had a smaller number of lipid droplets. LCMS revealed that the lipid composition of meibum was distinctively different from that of the sebum of the nostrils, external auditory canals, and scalp. The 3D reconstructions of the different glands revealed different morphologies of the SGs compared with MGs which are by far the largest type of glands. In humans, MGs differ in their morphology and secretory composition and show major differences from free and hair-associated SGs. The composition of meibum differs significantly from that of sebum from free SGs and from hair-associated SGs. Therefore, the MG can be considered as a highly specialized type of holocrine gland that exhibits all the histological characteristics of SGs, but is significantly different from them in terms of morphology and lipid composition.

BACKGROUND: Microsurgical breast reconstruction using abdominal tissue is a complex procedure, in part, due to variable vascular/perforator anatomy. Preoperative computed tomography angiography (CTA) has mitigated this challenge to some degree; yet it continues to pose certain challenges. The ability to map perforators with Mixed Reality has been demonstrated in case studies, but its accuracy has not been studied intraoperatively. Here, we compare the accuracy of "HoloDIEP" in identifying perforator location (vs. Doppler ultrasound) by using holographic 3D models derived from preoperative CTA. METHODS: Using a custom application on HoloLens, the deep inferior epigastric artery vascular tree was traced in 15 patients who underwent microsurgical breast reconstruction. Perforator markings were compared against the 3D model in a coordinate system centered on the umbilicus. Holographic- and Doppler-identified markings were compared using a perspective-corrected photo technique against the 3D model along with measurement of duration of perforator mapping for each technique. RESULTS: Vascular points in HoloDIEP skin markings were -0.97 ± 6.2 mm (perforators: -0.62 ± 6.13 mm) away from 3D-model ground-truth in radial length from the umbilicus at a true distance of 10.81 ± 6.14 mm (perforators: 11.40 ± 6.15 mm). Absolute difference in radial distance was twice as high for Doppler markings compared with Holo-markings (9.71 ± 6.16 and 4.02 ± 3.20 mm, respectively). Only in half of all cases (7/14), more than 50% of the Doppler-identified points were reasonably close (<30 mm) to 3D-model ground-truth. HoloDIEP was twice as fast as Doppler ultrasound (76.9s vs. 150.4 s per abdomen). CONCLUSION: HoloDIEP allows for faster and more accurate intraoperative perforator mapping than Doppler ultrasound.

Knowledge of the electronic structure of an aqueous solution is a prerequisite to understanding its chemical and biological reactivity and its response to light. One of the most direct ways of determining electronic structure is to use photoelectron spectroscopy to measure electron binding energies. Initially, photoelectron spectroscopy was restricted to the gas or solid phases due to the requirement for high vacuum to minimize inelastic scattering of the emitted electrons. The introduction of liquid-jets and their combination with intense X-ray sources at synchrotrons in the late 1990s expanded the scope of photoelectron spectroscopy to include liquids. Liquid-jet photoelectron spectroscopy is now an active research field involving a growing number of research groups. A limitation of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of aqueous solutions is the requirement to use solutes with reasonably high concentrations in order to obtain photoelectron spectra with adequate signal-to-noise after subtracting the spectrum of water. This has excluded most studies of organic molecules, which tend to be only weakly soluble. A solution to this problem is to use resonance-enhanced photoelectron spectroscopy with ultraviolet (UV) light pulses (hν ≲ 6 eV). However, the development of UV liquid-jet photoelectron spectroscopy has been hampered by a lack of quantitative understanding of inelastic scattering of low kinetic energy electrons (≲5 eV) and the impact on spectral lineshapes and positions.In this Account, we describe the key steps involved in the measurement of UV photoelectron spectra of aqueous solutions: photoionization/detachment, electron transport of low kinetic energy electrons through the conduction band, transmission through the water-vacuum interface, and transport through the spectrometer. We also explain the steps we take to record accurate UV photoelectron spectra of liquids with excellent signal-to-noise. We then describe how we have combined Monte Carlo simulations of electron scattering and spectral inversion with molecular dynamics simulations of depth profiles of organic solutes in aqueous solution to develop an efficient and widely applicable method for retrieving true UV photoelectron spectra of aqueous solutions. The huge potential of our experimental and spectral retrieval methods is illustrated using three examples. The first is a measurement of the vertical detachment energy of the green fluorescent protein chromophore, a sparingly soluble organic anion whose electronic structure underpins its fluorescence and photooxidation properties. The second is a measurement of the vertical ionization energy of liquid water, which has been the subject of discussion since the first X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurement in 1997. The third is a UV photoelectron spectroscopy study of the vertical ionization energy of aqueous phenol which demonstrates the possibility of retrieving true photoelectron spectra from measurements with contributions from components with different concentration profiles.

Electronic transitions are observed for the O2+-Ar and O2+-N2 complexes over the 225-350 nm range. The transitions are not associated with recognized electronic band systems of the respective atomic and diatomic constituents (Ar+, Ar, O2+, O2, N2+, and N2) but rather are due to charge transfer transitions. Onsets of the O2+-Ar and O2+-N2 band systems occur at 3.68 and 3.62 eV, respectively, corresponding to the difference in the ionization potentials of Ar and O2 (3.69 eV), and N2 and of O2 (3.51 eV), suggesting the band systems arise from intramolecular charge transfer transitions to states correlating with O2(X3Σg-) + Ar+ (2Pu) and O2(X3Σg-) + N2+(X2Σg+) limits, respectively. The dominant vibronic progressions have ωe values of 1565 cm-1 for O2+-Ar and 1532 cm-1 for O2+-N2, reasonably close to the value for the neutral O2 molecule in its X3Σg- state (1580 cm-1). Higher energy band systems for O2+-Ar and O2+-N2 are assigned to transitions to states correlating with the O2 (a1Δg) + Ar+ (2Pu) and O2 (a1Δg) + N2+(X2Σg+) limits, respectively.

CTCF is a nuclear protein initially discovered for its role in enhancer-promoter insulation. It has been shown to play a role in genome architecture and in fact, its DNA binding sites are enriched at the borders of chromatin domains. Recently, we showed that depletion of CTCF impairs the DNA damage response to ionizing radiation. To investigate the relationship between chromatin domains and DNA damage repair, we present here clonogenic survival assays in different cell lines upon CTCF knockdown and ionizing irradiation. The application of a wide range of ionizing irradiation doses (0-10 Gy) allowed us to investigate the survival response through a biophysical model that accounts for the double-strand breaks' probability distribution onto chromatin domains. We demonstrate that the radiosensitivity of different cell lines is increased upon lowering the amount of the architectural protein. Our model shows that the deficiency in the DNA repair ability is related to the changes in the size of chromatin domains that occur when different amounts of CTCF are present in the nucleus.

Electronic spectra are measured for mass-selected C2n +(n = 6-14) clusters over the visible and near-infrared spectral range through resonance enhanced photodissociation of clusters tagged with N2 molecules in a cryogenic ion trap. The carbon cluster cations are generated through laser ablation of a graphite disk and can be selected according to their collision cross section with He buffer gas and their mass prior to being trapped and spectroscopically probed. The data suggest that the C2n +(n = 6-14) clusters have monocyclic structures with bicyclic structures becoming more prevalent for C22 + and larger clusters. The C2n + electronic spectra are dominated by an origin transition that shifts linearly to a longer wavelength with the number of carbon atoms and associated progressions involving excitation of ring deformation vibrational modes. Bands for C12 +, C16 +, C20 +, C24 +, and C28 + are relatively broad, possibly due to rapid non-radiative decay from the excited state, whereas bands for C14 +, C18 +, C22 +, and C26 + are narrower, consistent with slower non-radiative deactivation.

BACKGROUND: A broad range of studies show that medical students often have a significantly deteriorated mental health status. Although starting medical school with values comparable to the population average, only a few semesters later, medical undergraduates show increased rates of psychological risk states and some manifest mental illnesses, such as burnout and depression. In our survey we intentionally assessed mental health parameters from a salutogenetic, i.e. resource-oriented point of view. METHODS: We examined first-year medical students in a cross-sectional study and assessed sense of coherence (SOC) and resilience as parameters from the salutogenesis model by Antonovsky in a structured way using validated, self-administered questionnaires. In total, we examined 236 students of human medicine, dentistry and molecular medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). RESULTS: Our analyses showed significantly higher values of resilience among male students compared to female students (p < 0.01). In contrast, even though a significant correlation between resilience and SOC was observed, only a non-significantly lower value of SOC was found in female students. Compared to the reference sample our medical students in their first year of study showed significantly lower values for resilience (p < 0.01) and SOC (p < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Resilience and SOC are known to correlate with psychological stress (burnout parameters) and depression. In order to keep protective factors like SOC and resilience in medical students at a good and healthy level we see the necessity to address that problem proactively and educationally. Integrating training focused on the preservation of the students´ own mental health into the medical curriculum from the beginning of university courses, and throughout the whole medical study course, is essential and should be an obligatory training goal. Based on our study results, we also deem it necessary to think about ways to adapt the measures for the gender-specific needs of our students, e.g. dependent on their biological gender.

Background and Objectives: A rare case of cor triatriatum sinistrum in combination with anomalies in the atrial septum and in the right atrium of a 60-year-old female body donor is described here. Materials and Methods: In addition to classical dissection, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging, computer tomography and cinematic rendering were performed. In a reference series of 59 regularly formed hearts (33 men, 26 women), we looked for features in the left and right atrium or atrial septum. In addition, we measured the atrial and ventricular wall thickness in 15 regularly formed hearts (7 men, 8 women). Results: In the case described, the left atrium was partly divided into two chambers by an intra-atrial membrane penetrated by two small openings. The 2.5 cm-high membrane originated in the upper level of the oval fossa and left an opening of about 4 cm in diameter. Apparently, the membrane did not lead to a functionally significant flow obstruction due to the broad intra-atrial communication between the proximal and distal chamber of the left atrium. In concordance with this fact, left atrial wall thickness was not elevated in the cor triatriatum sinistrum when compared with 15 regularly formed hearts. In addition, two further anomalies were found: 1. the oval fossa was deepened and arched in the direction of the left atrium; 2. the right atrium showed a membrane-like structure at its posterior and lateral walls, which began at the lower edge of the oval fossa. It probably corresponds to a strongly developed eustachian valve (valve of the inferior vena cava). Conclusions: The case described suggests that malformations in the development of the atrial septum and in the regression of the valve of the right sinus vein are involved in the pathogenesis of cor triatriatum sinistrum.

Indigoid chromophores have emerged as versatile molecular photoswitches, offering efficient reversible photoisomerization upon exposure to visible light. Here we report synthesis of a new class of permanently charged hemiindigos (HIs) and characterization of photochemical properties in gas phase and solution. Gas-phase studies, which involve exposing mobility-selected ions in a tandem ion mobility mass spectrometer to tunable wavelength laser radiation, demonstrate that the isolated HI ions are photochromic and can be reversibly photoswitched between Z and E isomers. The Z and E isomers have distinct photoisomerization response spectra with maxima separated by 40-80 nm, consistent with theoretical predictions for their absorption spectra. Solvation of the HI molecules in acetonitrile displaces the absorption bands to lower energy. Together, gas-phase action spectroscopy and solution NMR and UV/Vis absorption spectroscopy represent a powerful approach for studying the intrinsic photochemical properties of HI molecular switches.

OBJECTIVE: The microscopic review of hematoxylin-eosin-stained images of focal cortical dysplasia type IIb and cortical tuber of tuberous sclerosis complex remains challenging. Both entities are distinct subtypes of human malformations of cortical development that share histopathological features consisting of neuronal dyslamination with dysmorphic neurons and balloon cells. We trained a convolutional neural network (CNN) to classify both entities and visualize the results. Additionally, we propose a new Web-based deep learning application as proof of concept of how deep learning could enter the pathologic routine. METHODS: A digital processing pipeline was developed for a series of 56 cases of focal cortical dysplasia type IIb and cortical tuber of tuberous sclerosis complex to obtain 4000 regions of interest and 200 000 subsamples with different zoom and rotation angles to train a neural network. Guided gradient-weighted class activation maps (Guided Grad-CAMs) were generated to visualize morphological features used by the CNN to distinguish both entities. RESULTS: Our best-performing network achieved 91% accuracy and 0.88 area under the receiver operating characteristic curve at the tile level for an unseen test set. Novel histopathologic patterns were found through the visualized Guided Grad-CAMs. These patterns were assembled into a classification score to augment decision-making in routine histopathology workup. This score was successfully validated by 11 expert neuropathologists and 12 nonexperts, boosting nonexperts to expert level performance. SIGNIFICANCE: Our newly developed Web application combines the visualization of whole slide images with the possibility of deep learning-aided classification between focal cortical dysplasia IIb and tuberous sclerosis complex. This approach will help to introduce deep learning applications and visualization for the histopathologic diagnosis of rare and difficult-to-classify brain lesions.

BACKGROUND/AIM: To investigate the structural features following the cinematic rendering of lacrimal sac mucopeptide concretions (MPC). METHODS: The study was performed on five mucopeptide concretions obtained from the lacrimal sac during dacryocystorhinostomy. All the concretions were imaged using special protocols of CT scans to obtain ultra-thin slices. Cinematic rendering (CR) techniques (Siemens Healthineers AG, Erlangen, Germany) were utilized to allow real-time computation of the interaction of photons and scanned patient images using the Monte Carlo path tracing algorithms. The CR algorithms facilitated volumetric reconstruction of the mucopeptide concretions to visualize the texture and inner structures. Each concretion could be sliced and viewed at 100-µm intervals. False color display and the use of different transfer functions were utilized to display variable densities of the concretions in color during visualization. Images obtained by virtual camera were further analysed to assess the structural features. RESULTS: The 3D cinematic rendered images of MPC showed uniform structural consistency on the surface and minimal heterogeneity from the surface up to the core. As the image slicing occurs towards the core, a well-defined structure of grossly different consistency (nidus) from the rest of the MPC was noted. This area was usually located in the paracentral region and constitutes approximately < 10% of the entire area. If a color display was assigned to the internal structure of the MPC, most of it appears to be compact and dense but the density reduces in the periphery of the nidus and delineates it well. Further structural enhancements with the 3D cinematic rendering in some MPCs demonstrate occasional 1-2 more areas with similar features as that of nidus. CONCLUSIONS: 3D CR is a useful modality to study the internal structure of MPC. The CR findings also provide further evidence to support the earlier etiopathogenesis theory based on ultrastructural and immunohistochemistry features.

Substituted naphthalene anions (deprotonated 2-naphthol and 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid) are spectroscopically probed in a tandem drift tube ion mobility spectrometer (IMS). Target anions are selected according to their drift speed through nitrogen buffer gas in the first IMS stage before being exposed to a pulse of tunable light that induces either photodissociation or electron photodetachment, which is conveniently monitored by scavenging the detached electrons with trace SF6 in the buffer gas. The photodetachment action spectrum of the 2-naphtholate anion exhibits a band system spanning 380-460 nm with a prominent series of peaks spaced by 440 cm-1, commencing at 458.5 nm, and a set of weaker peaks near the electron detachment threshold corresponding to transitions to dipole-bound states. The two deprotomers of 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid are separated and spectroscopically probed independently. The molecular anion formed from deprotonation of the hydroxy group gives rise to a photodetachment action spectrum similar to that of the 2-naphtholate anion with an onset at 470 nm and a maximum at 420 nm. Near the threshold, the photoreaction with SF6 is observed with displacement of an OH group by an F atom. In contrast, the anion formed from deprotonation of the carboxylic acid group gives rise to a photodissociation action spectrum, recorded on the CO2 loss channel, lying at much shorter wavelengths with an onset at 360 nm and maximum photoresponse at 325 nm.

Deprotonated para-coumaric acid is commonly considered as a model for the chromophore in photoactive yellow protein, which undergoes E → Z isomerization following absorption of blue light. Here, tandem ion mobility mass spectrometry is coupled with laser excitation to study the photochemistry of deprotonated para-coumaric acid, to show that the E isomers of the phenoxide and carboxylate forms have distinct photochemical responses with maxima in their action spectra at 430 and 360 nm, respectively. The E isomer of the phenoxide anion undergoes efficient autodetachment upon excitation of its lowest ππ* transition. For the E isomer of the carboxylate deprotomer, a one-way photoinitiated proton transfer generates the phenoxide deprotomer through a mechanism postulated to involve an excited-state enol-keto tautomerism followed by a series of ground-state rearrangements including a second proton transfer. This mechanism is supported by experiments in which the relevant intermediate keto isomer is prepared and spectroscopically probed and through master equation modeling of possible ground-state isomerization processes. The Z isomer of the carboxylate deprotomer shows a weak Z → E photoisomerization response that occurs in competition with photodestruction (presumably electron detachment), demonstrating that the E and Z isomers undergo different processes in their excited states. The study highlights the utility of isomer-selective spectroscopy for characterizing the photochemistry of isolated anions possessing multiple deprotonation sites.

Electronic spectra of mass-selected HC4H+-Arn (n = 1-3) and HC4H+-(N2)n (n = 1-2) complexes are measured over the 290-530 nm range using resonance-enhanced photodissociation spectroscopy in a tandem mass spectrometer. Vibronic transitions in the visible region are compared with previous experimental and theoretical results for the Ã2Πu ← X̃2Πg band system of HC4H+. Hole burning experiments confirm that transitions over the 290-340 nm range involve the diacetylene cation (HC4H+). On the basis of previous experiments and comparison with spectra of isoelectronic molecules the peaks are assigned to the 22Πu ← X̃2Πg band system, with the origin transition for HC4H+-Ar occurring at 29723 cm-1. The main progression has a spacing of 906 cm-1 and is assigned to the symmetric C-C stretch vibrational mode (ν3). The assignment of additional bands is complicated by spectral congestion, the possible presence of energetically close-lying electronic states, vibronic coupling effects, and by the fact that HC4H+ possibly becomes nonlinear in the 22Πu state.

Ultraslow radiative cooling lifetimes and adiabatic detachment energies for three astrochemically relevant anions, Cn - (n = 3-5), are measured using the Double ElectroStatic Ion Ring ExpEriment (DESIREE) infrastructure at Stockholm University. DESIREE maintains a background pressure of ≈10-14 mbar and temperature of ≈13 K, allowing storage of mass-selected ions for hours and providing conditions coined a "molecular cloud in a box." Here, we construct two-dimensional (2D) photodetachment spectra for the target anions by recording photodetachment signal as a function of irradiation wavelength and ion storage time (seconds to minute time scale). Ion cooling lifetimes, which are associated with infrared radiative emission, are extracted from the 2D photodetachment spectrum for each ion by tracking the disappearance of vibrational hot-band signal with ion storage time, giving 1e cooling lifetimes of 3.1 ± 0.1 s (C3 -), 6.8 ± 0.5 s (C4 -), and 24 ± 5 s (C5 -). Fits of the photodetachment spectra for cold ions, i.e., those stored for at least 30 s, provide adiabatic detachment energies in good agreement with values from laser photoelectron spectroscopy on jet-cooled anions, confirming that radiative cooling has occurred in DESIREE. Ion cooling lifetimes are simulated using a simple harmonic cascade model, finding good agreement with experiment and providing a mode-by-mode understanding of the radiative cooling properties. The 2D photodetachment strategy and radiative cooling modeling developed in this study could be applied to investigate the ultraslow cooling dynamics of a wide range of molecular anions.
