RESUMEN
The known ent-kaurene diterpenes 1-9 and a new ent-labdane, ent-6beta,8alpha-dihydroxylabda-13(16),14-diene (10), were isolated from the whole plant of Sideritis argyrea. Their structures were elucidated based on one- and two-dimensional NMR techniques and HRMS.

Satureja wiedemanniana (Lallem.) Velen (Lamiaceae) is an endemic species of Turkey. Aerial parts of the plant collected from eleven different localities in Turkey were subjected to hydrodistillation to yield essential oils which were analysed by a GC/MS system. Carvacrol, thymol, p-cymene and gamma-terpinene were found as the main constituents. Antibacterial evaluation of the oils was also carried out.

The essential oils from 19 samples of Satureja cuneifolia that is used as a substitute for thyme in Turkey have been analysed by GC and GC/ MS. The plant materials were collected from different regions of Turkey. The results are presented in a comparative manner. Eleven oil samples were found to be rich in carvacrol (26-72%) while in eight samples thymol (22-58%) was the main constituent.
RESUMEN
Water distilled essential oils of five annual Sideritis species collected from different regions of Turkey were analysed by GC/MS. Results are tabulated and compared with main components of the essential oils of perennial Sideritis species from Turkey.
