BACKGROUND: The medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) is involved in complex functions containing multiple types of neurons in distinct subregions with preferential roles. The pyramidal neurons had wide-range projections to cortical and subcortical regions with subregional preferences. Using a combination of viral tracing and fluorescence micro-optical sectioning tomography (fMOST) in transgenic mice, we systematically dissected the whole-brain connectomes of intratelencephalic (IT) and pyramidal tract (PT) neurons in four mPFC subregions. RESULTS: IT and PT neurons of the same subregion projected to different target areas while receiving inputs from similar upstream regions with quantitative differences. IT and PT neurons all project to the amygdala and basal forebrain, but their axons target different subregions. Compared to subregions in the prelimbic area (PL) which have more connections with sensorimotor-related regions, the infralimbic area (ILA) has stronger connections with limbic regions. The connection pattern of the mPFC subregions along the anterior-posterior axis showed a corresponding topological pattern with the isocortex and amygdala but an opposite orientation correspondence with the thalamus. CONCLUSIONS: By using transgenic mice and fMOST imaging, we obtained the subregional preference whole-brain connectomes of IT and pyramidal tract PT neurons in the mPFC four subregions. These results provide a comprehensive resource for directing research into the complex functions of the mPFC by offering anatomical dissections of the different subregions.

Particle rafts are a new kind of soft matter formed by self-organization on the interface, which possesses mechanical properties between fluid and solid, and they have been widely used in many industrial fields. In the present study, the compression experiment of a circular particle raft is first performed, where an SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate)-coated metal ring is placed around its periphery. When the surfactant diffuses, the particle raft shrinks, and its shrinkage ratio increases with the increase in the surfactant concentration, where the experimental results are consistent with the numerical simulation. Next, the relationship between the initial surface tension difference of SDS and the radius shrinkage of the particle raft is obtained by dimensional analysis. In what follows, the diffusion model is built to quantify the diffusion process of SDS at the liquid-gas interface, and then the analytical concentration solution of the concentration of SDS at the periphery of particle raft is given. The particle raft is viewed as an elastic circular plate under the action of the radial pressure, which originates from the surface tension difference, which has been verified by the experimental result. These explorations cast a new light on how to apply loads to measure mechanical properties of soft matter, which also provide some inspirations on the design of microsensors and microfluidics.

OBJECTIVE: We aimed to assess the secular trends in cardiovascular health (CVH) among U.S. adults with different glycemic statuses based on the Life's Essential 8 (LE8). METHODS: This cross-sectional study used nationally representative data from 6 cycles of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys between 2007 and 2018. Survey-weighted linear models were used to assess time trends in LE8 scores. Stratified analyses and sensitivity analyses were conducted to validate the stability of the results. RESULTS: A total of 23,616 participants were included in this study. From 2007 to 2018, there was no significant improvement in overall CVH and the proportion of ideal CVH among participants with diabetes and prediabetes. We observed an opposite trend between health behavior and health factors in the diabetes group, mainly in increasing physical activity scores and sleep scores (P for trend<0.001), and declining BMI scores [difference, -6.81 (95% CI, -12.82 to -0.80)] and blood glucose scores [difference, -6.41 (95% CI, -9.86 to -2.96)]. Dietary health remained at a consistently low level among participants with different glycemic status. The blood lipid scores in the prediabetes group improved but were still at a lower level than other groups. Education/income differences persist in the CVH of participants with diabetes or prediabetes, especially in health behavior factors. Sensitivity analyses of the absolute difference and change in proportion showed a consistent trend. CONCLUSIONS: Trends in CVH among participants with diabetes or prediabetes were suboptimal from 2007 to 2018, with persistent education/income disparities.

BACKGROUND: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a rare autosomal recessive hereditary neuromuscular disease caused by survival motor neuron 1 (SMN1) gene deletion or mutation. Homozygous deletions of exon 7 in SMN1 result in 95% of SMA cases, while the remaining 5% are caused by other pathogenic variants of SMN1. METHODS: We analyzed two SMA-suspected cases that were collected, with no SMN1 gene deletion and point mutation in whole-exome sequencing. Exon 1 deletion of the SMN gene was detected using Multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) P021. We used long-range polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to isolate the SMN1 template, optimized-MLPA P021 for copy number variation (CNV) analysis within SMN1 only, and validated the findings via third-generation sequencing. RESULTS: Two unrelated families shared a genotype with one copy of exon 7 and a novel variant, g.70919941_70927324del, in isolated exon 1 of the SMN1 gene. Case F1-II.1 demonstrated no exon 1 but retained other exons, whereas F2-II.1 had an exon 1 deletion in a single SMN1 gene. The read coverage in the third-generation sequencing results of both F1-II.1 and F2-II.1 revealed a deletion of approximately 7.3 kb in the 5' region of SMN1. The first nucleotide in the sequence data aligned to the 7385 bp of NG_008691.1. CONCLUSION: Remarkably, two proband families demonstrated identical SMN1 exon 1 breakpoint sites, hinting at a potential novel mutation hotspot in Chinese SMA, expanding the variation spectrum of the SMN1 gene and corroborating the specificity of isolated exon 1 deletion in SMA pathogenesis. The optimized-MLPA P021 determined a novel variant (g.70919941_70927324del) in isolated exon 1 of the SMN1 gene based on long-range PCR, enabling efficient and affordable detection of SMN gene variations in patients with SMA, providing new insight into SMA diagnosis to SMN1 deficiency and an optimized workflow for single exon CNV testing of the SMN gene.

The conversion of CO2 into useful chemicals via photocatalysts is a promising strategy for resolving the environmental problems caused by the addition of CO2. Herein, a series of composite photocatalysts MOP@TpPa-CH3 based on MOP-NH2 and TpPa-CH3 through covalent bridging have been prepared via a facile room-temperature evaporation method and employed for photocatalytic CO2 reduction. The photocatalytic performances of MOP@TpPa-CH3 are greater than those of TpPa-CH3 and MOP-NH2, where the CO generation rate of MOP@TpPa-CH3 under 10% CO2 still reaches 119.25 µmol g-1 h-1, which is 2.18 times higher than that under pure CO2 (54.74 µmol g-1 h-1). To investigate the structural factors affecting the photocatalytic activity, MOP@TBPa-CH3 without C═O groups is synthesized, and the photoreduction performance is also evaluated. The controlling experimental results demonstrate that the excellent photoreduction CO2 performance of MOP@TpPa-CH3 in a 10% CO2 atmosphere is due to the presence of C═O groups in TpPa-CH3. This work offers a new design and construction strategy for novel MOP@COF composites.

OBJECTIVES: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a neuromuscular disorder caused by homozygous deletion and compound heterozygous mutations in survival motor neuron 1 (SMN1), with severity tied to the copy number of survival motor neuron 2 (SMN2). This study aimed to develop a rapid and comprehensive method for the diagnosis of SMA. METHODS: A total of 292 children with clinically suspected SMA and 394 family members were detected by the amplification refractory mutation system polymerase chain reaction-capillary electrophoresis (ARMS-PCR-CE) method, which targeted 19 reported mutations, and the results were compared with those in multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA). Individuals with identified point mutations were further confirmed by SMN1 long-range PCR and Sanger sequencing. RESULTS: A total of 202 children with SMA, 272 carriers, and 212 normal individuals were identified in this study. No difference was found in the R-value distribution of exons 7 and 8 in SMN1 and SMN2 among these cohorts, with coefficients of variation consistently below 0.08. To detect exon 7 and 8 copy numbers in SMN1 and SMN2, the ARMS-PCR-CE results were concordant with those of MLPA. Approximately 4.95 % (10/202) of the study patients had compound heterozygous mutations. CONCLUSIONS: The ARMS-PCR-CE assay is a comprehensive, rapid, and accurate diagnostic method for SMA that simultaneously detects copy numbers of exons 7 and 8 in SMN1/SMN2, as well as 19 point mutations in SMN1 and 2 enhancers in SMN2. This approach can effectively reduce the time frame for diagnosis, facilitating early intervention and preventing birth defects.

Surgical resection remains a critical treatment option for many patients with primary and secondary hepatic neoplasms. Extended hepatectomy (eHx) may be required for some patients with large tumors, which may cause liver failure and death. Partial hepatectomy (pHx) and eHx mouse models were constructed, liver tissues were sampled at 18, 36, and 72 h posthepatectomy. Transcriptome and metabolome analyses were employed to explore the different potential mechanisms in regeneration and injury between pHx and eHx. The results showed that eHx was associated with more severe liver injury and lower survival rates than pHx. Transcriptomics data showed there were 1842, 2129, and 1277 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in eHx and 962, 1305, and 732 DEGs in pHx at 18, 36, and 72 h posthepatectomy, respectively, compared with the those in the sham groups. Compared with pHx, the number of DEGs in the eHx group reached a maximum of 230 at 18 h after surgery and decreased sequentially to 87 and 43 at 36 and 72 h. Metabolomics analysis identified a total of 1399 metabolites, and 48 significant differentially produced metabolites (DPMs) were screened between eHx and pHx. Combined analysis of DEGs and DPMs indicated that cholesterol metabolism and insulin resistance may be two important pathways for liver regeneration and mouse survival postextended hepatectomy. Our results showed the global influence of pHx and eHx on the transcriptome and metabolome in mouse liver, and revealed cholesterol metabolism and insulin resistance pathways might be involved in regeneration post-pHx and -eHx.

Cathodic electrochemiluminesence (ECL) microscopy based on luminol analog L012 was originally established to implement the imaging of a single nanotube and nucleolin on a single tumor cell. This microscopy utilizes multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as advanced coreactant accelerators to efficiently convert dissolved oxygen (O2) and H2O2 into reactive oxygen species (ROS) due to excellent electrocatalytic properties. The produced ROS could oxide L012 into an excited state of L012 leading to a bright cathodic ECL illumination, thereby promoting ECL imaging of MWCNTs at a low triggering potential. After being modified with AS1411 aptamers, MWCNTs@AS1411 probes were incubated with tumor cells for specific ECL imaging of nucleolin on the plasma membrane, which permits cathodic ECL microscopy for label-free bioassays without ECL tags. The L012-based cathodic ECL microscopy with a moderate operating potential and label-free characteristics provides a universal approach in single nanomaterial and single-cell imaging and analyses.

Escherichia coli (E. coli) was used for cancer therapy due to the tumor-targeting, catalytic, and surface-reducing properties. Effective diagnosis combined with treatment of cancer based on E. coli, however, was rarely demonstrated. In this study, E. coli was used to surface reduce HAuCl4 and as a carrier to modify riboflavin (Rf) and luminol (E-Au@Rf@Lum). After targeted delivery to tumor, the E-Au@Rf@Lum probe could actively emit 425 nm blue-violet chemiluminescence (CL) to achieve cell imaging for cancer diagnosis. Furthermore, this light could in situ trigger the photosensitizer (Rf) through CL resonance energy transfer, which produces reactive oxygen species (ROS) for accurate photodynamic therapy. In return, the excessive ROS enhanced the blue-violet light which was further absorbed by Rf, and ROS production was cyclically amplified. Abundant ROS broke down the dense extracellular matrix network and penetrated deep into tumors. Besides, E. coli with excellent catalytic property could decompose H2O2 to O2 to relieve tumor hypoxia for a long time and enhance the photosensitized process of Rf. By self-illumination, effective penetration, and tumor hypoxia relief, this work opens a self-amplified therapy modality to tumor.

In the present study, the morphology evolution of a particle raft with a preprepared crack, which is caused by injecting the surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) into water, is demonstrated. Experimental results on the process of crack closure and configuration evolution are captured and are in excellent agreement with the numerical simulations. Then a surface diffusion model on SDS is proposed to quantify the detailed physical scenario. The surface diffusion factor is determined through the shooting method based on the experimental result of dynamic surface tension. As a result, the analytical solution for the SDS concentration distribution is given. The theoretical result on the dependence relationship between the profile shrinkage ratio and the time variable is consistent with the experimental result. At last, the relation between the initial surface tension difference of SDS and the profile shrinkage ratio is obtained in the light of experiments and dimensional analysis, and the two results are very close. These analyses provide a comprehensive understanding of the coupling between chemicals and mechanical behaviors of soft matter, and the modulation of defects in the particle raft provides some inspiration for engineering new devices at the microscale.

Metal-organic frameworks constructed from Zr usually possess excellent chemical and physical stability. Therefore, they have become attractive platforms in various fields. In this work, two families of hybrid materials based on ZrSQU have been designed and synthesized, named Im@ZrSQU and Cu@ZrSQU, respectively. Im@ZrSQU was prepared through the impregnation method and employed for proton conduction. Im@ZrSQU exhibited terrific proton conduction performance in an anhydrous environment, with the highest proton conduction value of 3.6 × 10-2 S cm-1 at 110 °C. In addition, Cu@ZrSQU was synthesized via the photoinduction method for the photoreduction of CO2, which successfully promoted the conversion of CO2 into CO and achieved the CO generation rate of up to 12.4 µmol g-1 h-1. The photocatalytic performance of Cu@ZrSQU is derived from the synergistic effect of Cu NPs and ZrSQU. Based on an in-depth study and discussion toward ZrSQU, we provide a versatile platform with applications in the field of proton conduction and photocatalysis, which will guide researchers in their further studies.

The mechanism of Sn and Nb influence on the fraction of tetragonal ZrO2 in oxide films on Zr alloys and their influence mechanism on corrosion resistance of Zr alloys, despite decades of research, are ambiguous due to the lack of kinetic knowledge of phase evolution of ZrO2 with doping. Using stochastic surface walking and density functional theory calculations, we investigate the influence of Nb and Sn on the stability of tetragonal (t) and monoclinic (m) ZrO2, and t-m phase transition in oxide films. We found that though Nb and Sn result in similar apparent variation trends in the t-phase fraction in oxide films, their influences on t-m phase transition differ significantly, which is the underlying origin of different influences of the t-phase fraction in oxide films on the corrosion resistance of Zr alloys with Sn and Nb alloying. These results clarify an important aspect of the relationship between the microstructure and corrosion resistance of Zr alloys.

BACKGROUND: Researchers have attempted to apply deep learning methods of artificial intelligence for rapidly and accurately detecting acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in microscopic images. RESULTS: A Resnet101-9 ensemble model was developed for classifying ALL in microscopic images. The proposed Resnet101-9 ensemble model combined the use of the nine trained Resnet-101 models with a majority voting strategy. Each trained Resnet-101 model integrated the well-known pre-trained Resnet-101 model and its algorithm hyperparameters by using transfer learning method to classify ALL in microscopic images. The best combination of algorithm hyperparameters for the pre-trained Resnet-101 model was determined by Taguchi experimental method. The microscopic images used for training of the pre-trained Resnet-101 model and for performance tests of the trained Resnet-101 model were obtained from the C-NMC dataset. In experimental tests of performance, the Resnet101-9 ensemble model achieved an accuracy of 85.11% and an F1-score of 88.94 in classifying ALL in microscopic images. The accuracy of the Resnet101-9 ensemble model was superior to that of the nine trained Resnet-101 individual models. All other performance measures (i.e., precision, recall, and specificity) for the Resnet101-9 ensemble model exceeded those for the nine trained Resnet-101 individual models. CONCLUSION: Compared to the nine trained Resnet-101 individual models, the Resnet101-9 ensemble model had superior accuracy in classifying ALL in microscopic images obtained from the C-NMC dataset.

BACKGROUND: Researchers have tried to identify and count different blood cells in microscopic smear images by using deep learning methods of artificial intelligence to solve the highly time-consuming problem. RESULTS: The three types of blood cells are platelets, red blood cells, and white blood cells. This study used the Resnet50 network as a backbone network of the single shot detector (SSD) for automatically identifying and counting different blood cells and, meanwhile, proposed a systematic method to find a better combination of algorithm hyperparameters of the Resnet50 network for promoting accuracy for identifying and counting blood cells. The Resnet50 backbone network of the SSD with its optimized algorithm hyperparameters, which is called the Resnet50-SSD model, was developed to enhance the feature extraction ability for identifying and counting blood cells. Furthermore, the algorithm hyperparameters of Resnet50 backbone networks of the SSD were optimized by the Taguchi experimental method for promoting detection accuracy of the Resnet50-SSD model. The experimental result shows that the detection accuracy of the Resnet50-SSD model with 512 × 512 × 3 input images was better than that of the Resnet50-SSD model with 300 × 300 × 3 input images on the test set of blood cells images. Additionally, the detection accuracy of the Resnet50-SSD model using the combination of algorithm hyperparameters got by the Taguchi method was better than that of the Resnet50-SSD model using the combination of algorithm hyperparameters given by the Matlab example. CONCLUSION: In blood cell images acquired from the BCCD dataset, the proposed Resnet50-SSD model had higher accuracy in identifying and counting blood cells, especially white blood cells and red blood cells.

The photoreduction deposition method is employed to fabricate a family of silver nanoparticle (Ag NP)-modified polyoxometalate-based metal-organic framework (NENU-5) photocatalysts, named Ag/NENU-5. The title photocatalysts, Ag/NENU-5, can be used for the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 and are observed to efficiently reduce CO2 into CO, in which the highest reduction rate is 22.28 µmol g-1 h-1, 3 times greater than that of NENU-5. Photocatalytic reduction performances of CO2 have been extremely improved after the incorporation of Ag NPs as the cocatalyst. The enhancement of the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 has been attributed to the synergistic effects of Ag NPs and NENU-5, inhibiting the charge recombination during the photocatalytic process and increasing the reaction active sites. Furthermore, the influence of Ag NPs on the photocatalytic activity has also been investigated. The experimental results clearly reveal that the size of Ag NPs could exert a main effect on the photocatalytic activity, and the reasonable size of Ag NPs is able to enhance the photocatalytic reduction activity toward CO2 significantly.

AIMS: A computerized tool and interdisciplinary care were implemented to develop a novel model for older patients with delirium in the emergency department (ED). METHODS: We developed a computerized tool using a delirium triage screen and brief confusion assessment in the hospital information system, performed education for the healthcare providers, and developed a continuous care protocol. Comparisons for outcomes between pre- and post-intervention periods were performed. RESULTS: Compared with the pre-intervention period, patients in the post-intervention period had shorter hospitalization stay, lower expenditure of hospitalization, more likely to return home, lower ED revisits of ≤ 3 days, re-hospitalization of ≤ 14 days, and mortality of ≤ 1 month. All mentioned differences were not statistically significant. CONCLUSIONS: A novel model was successfully developed for delirium management in older patients in the ED. Outcome differences were not significant; however, the result is promising, which gives us an important reference in the future.

Dietary fiber (DF) is a carbohydrate from the edible part of plants and has the functions of promoting gastrointestinal motility, regulating gut microbiota (GM) and improving health. Lead is a non-essential toxic heavy metal that can accumulate in the environment over time and enter the body through the respiratory tract, skin and gastrointestinal tract. Lead not only causes disturbances in GM but also leads to loss of homeostasis of immune functions, causes neuronal damage and results in neuroinflammation. The scientific literature has reported that DF had anti-inflammatory activity as a natural product. This review highlights the role of DF and its metabolic products in alleviating lead-induced neuroinflammation by inducing changes in the species and quantity of GM and regulating the immune system, providing a potential dietary protective strategy for lead-induced disease. © 2022 Society of Chemical Industry.

RESUMEN

Flavonoids have a variety of biological activities that are beneficial to human health. However, owing to low bioavailability, most flavonoids exert beneficial effects in the intestine through metabolism by the flora into a variety of structurally different derivatives. Also, flavonoids can modulate the type and structure of intestinal microorganisms to improve human health. It has been reported that the development of depression is accompanied by changes in the type and number of intestinal microorganisms, and gut microbes can significantly improve depressive symptoms through the gut-brain axis. Therefore, the interaction between flavonoids and intestinal microbes to alleviate depression is discussed. © 2021 Society of Chemical Industry.

BACKGROUND: The leadership style of head nurses affects the organizational atmosphere of nursing teams. PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between head nurse leadership styles and nurses' morale and intention to stay, as well as the explained variance for each. METHODS: The descriptive correlational design employed in this study used a convenience sample of 790 nursing staff working at a medical center in southern Taiwan. We cross-sectionally surveyed each participant's intention to stay, morale, and perception of their head nurse's leadership style. RESULTS: The participants perceived their head nurses as having both transformational and transactional leadership styles. A moderate to highly positive correlation was identified among leadership style, morale, and intention to stay. One-way analyses of variance found that the participants who were seniors, were married, had children, were at clinical ladder N3 or above, had rotation experience, and held a public servant position had relatively higher morale and intention to stay. After controlling for potentially confounding factors, hierarchical regression analyses revealed that the explained variance of leadership styles on intention to stay and morale was 22% and 28%, respectively. Transformational leadership was found to significantly predict intention to stay and morale. However, transactional leadership significantly impacted morale only, albeit at a lower level than transformational leadership. CONCLUSIONS / IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: How nurses perceive the leadership style of their head nurses may affect their intention to stay and morale while at work. Advanced training to strengthen and internalize leadership styles for head nurses is suggested. Creating a positive and friendly working environment is conducive to improving the morale of nurses and retention rates in the nursing workplace.

Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of biofeedback and electrical stimulation therapy (BFES) combined with Sabale capsules (SC) on chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS). METHODS: A total of 140 outpatients meeting CP/CPPS diagnostic and research criteria in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were randomly divided into groups A (blank control), B (BFES intervention), C (SC intervention) and D (BFES+SC intervention), 35 cases in each group. The patients in group A were left untreated, while those in groups B, C and D received BFES, SC and BFES+SC, respectively, all for 12 weeks. Then the patients were followed up at 30 days after treatment and the urinary flow rate and NIH-CPSI scores were obtained and compared with the baseline. RESULTS: In comparison with the baseline, the total NIH-CPSI scores after intervention were significantly decreased in groups B, (ï¼»27.30 ± 2.44ï¼½ vs ï¼»19.43 ± 2.33ï¼½), C (ï¼»26.77 ± 2.54ï¼½ vs ï¼»19.40 ± 2.75ï¼½) and D (ï¼»27.67 ± 3.69ï¼½ vs ï¼»15.57 ± 1.94ï¼½) (all P < 0.05), and so were the individual item scores in pain or discomfort (ï¼»12.50 ± 1.94ï¼½ vs ï¼»9.40 ± 2.01ï¼½, ï¼»11.93 ± 1.64ï¼½ vs ï¼»9.23 ± 1.96ï¼½, and ï¼»12.33 ± 2.20ï¼½ vs ï¼»7.50 ± 1.55ï¼½), urination symptoms (ï¼»6.07 ± 1.57ï¼½ vs ï¼»3.83 ± 1.05ï¼½, ï¼»5.97 ± 1.33ï¼½ vs ï¼»3.77 ± 1.14ï¼½, and ï¼»6.20 ± 1.88ï¼½ vs ï¼»2.87 ± 0.94ï¼½), quality of life (QOL) (ï¼»8.73 ± 1.62ï¼½ vs ï¼»6.20 ± 1.42ï¼½, ï¼»8.87 ± 1.25ï¼½ vs ï¼»6.40 ± 1.59ï¼½, and ï¼»9.13 ± 1.70ï¼½ vs ï¼»5.20 ± 1.40ï¼½) (all P < 0.05), while the maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax) was remarkably increased (ï¼»15.72 ± 2.38ï¼½ vs ï¼»19.73 ± 2.85ï¼½, ï¼»16.20 ± 2.44ï¼½ vs ï¼»19.46 ± 2.48ï¼½, and ï¼»15.83 ± 2.52ï¼½ vs ï¼»22.49 ± 2.76ï¼½) (all P < 0.05), and so was the average urinary flow rate (Qavg) (ï¼»9. 282 ± 1.52ï¼½ vs ï¼»11.27 ± 1.95ï¼½, ï¼»8.97 ± 1.25ï¼½ vs ï¼»11.16 ± 1.74ï¼½, and ï¼»9.20 ± 1.36ï¼½ vs ï¼»13.50 ± 2.30ï¼½) (all P < 0.05). The decrease in NIH-CPSI total and item scores and increase in Qmax and Qavg after treatment were more significant in group D than in B and C (P < 0.05), but showed no statistically significant difference between groups B and C (P > 0.05). Nor was any significant change observed in the above parameters in group A after treatment ( P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Biofeedback and electrical stimulation therapy combined with Sabale capsules can alleviate urination dysfunction, pelvic floor tension myalgia and other symptoms and significantly improve the QOL of CP/CPPS patients.
